《5SOS Sickfics》Luke- Stage Fright

The lads of 5 Seconds of Summer were hanging around, backstage in San Francisco, with 30 minutes before they will be rocking their asses of on the stage. The problem was, it's a big crowd. Like, big crowd. 100, 000 people, maybe? And Luke was terrified. He was pacing around the dressing room, the others watching him helplessly. They had no clue what to do. That's a lie. They knew they had to calm him down, but had no idea how.
"Luke. You okay?" Ashton asked. Luke didn't answer, just looked at him with bloodshot eyes, showing just how nervous he was.
"Do you want a hug?" Michael asked. Luke nodded, only slightly, but all of them saw it. All three of them pulled him into a hug, their shirts soaking up his tears. Eventually, when they only had 5 minutes before they were due on stage, Luke stopped crying and looked like he was able to go on stage.
"You better now?" Calum asked.
"Yeah, Thanks guys." Luke told them.
"Anytime Luke." Michael confirmed. He nodded and they all headed over to get their guitars, or Ashton's drumsticks. Then, they waited by the steps, hearing the screams of their fans. Luke swallowed thickly, and Ashton gave him one more quick hug.
"You'll be fine." He whispered in the boy's ear. They stayed like that for a few more seconds before pulling away, and waiting for their cue to go on. When it came, they ran onto the stage, smiling widely at the filled venue.
They immediately started to play their first song, 18, and the screams got louder, if that's even possible. The concert began smoothly, and everyone was having the time of their lives. The panic from before was still on the band's minds, but they pushed it away as to play their best. Well, they all at least tried to.

It wasn't so easy for Luke. He couldn't forget how many people were watching him, watching them. How many sets of eyes were on them at that very moment, even if he couldn't see them. How many people were judging his every move, commenting on him mentally. He couldn't forget that this was a big deal and that he couldn't mess up. There was so much pressure on this concert, being the biggest of their tour, he couldn't mess up.
Luke tried to push the thoughts out of his mind, but it just became too much. By the time they were to play their fifth song of the set, Hey Everybody, he had tears in his eyes and thoughts racing a million a second. He tried to keep it together, tried to stay strong, but there was no way he could. He took a couple of steps back from his microphone, turning his back on the audience as he took his guitar off and tried to take some deep breaths to calm himself down.
This action caught the attention of the other boys, but they tried to continue so to keep the attention off of poor Luke. Michael took a second to go over to Luke, still playing so it looked normal.
"You okay?" He shouted over the music. Luke shrugged, but didn't say anything. "Luke talk to me, bud." He called again. Luke stayed silent. Michael decided to just keep an eye on him, and ran back over to his microphone in time to sing. Despite the band's efforts, the crowd were still quite focused on Luke and his wellbeing.
Feeling all the eyes on him, Luke began to panic that the audience hated him because he was messing up the concert, by not playing. His chest began to tighten as he still faced away from the crowd. That way they couldn't see the tears running down his cheeks. Luke was ruining the concert. Or he thought he was, anyways.

Eventually, Ashton just stopped drumming, the other two stopping playing their own instruments as well. They all went to Luke, who, despite their best efforts to get to him, seemed to be shut off, stuck with his own thoughts. Ashton picked Luke up and took him off the stage, sitting him down on a couch. Their touring psychologist offered to stay with Luke, so the lads could get back to performing, and the lads agreed, she knew more than they did.
They got back on stage, a stand in guitarist with them. They adjusted the microphone stands so that Calum and Michael were either side of the runway, the stand in opting to stand to the side, away from the front of the stage. They explained the situation to the fans, who agreed with their decision. Some even shouting for them to go backstage with Luke. Of course, being the lads they were, they continued to play for their fans, who had paid good money to see them.
But, this doesn't mean they weren't worried about their fellow bandmate, and they didn't play perfectly as their minds were somewhat elsewhere. They realised that this concert wasn't going to be perfect, not without Luke. They need all 4 of them. So, for that reason, they didn't play all of their songs and cut the concert slightly short. They only missed about 4 songs though, so although they did feel bad, it wasn't like they missed a large amount of it. They still gave it their all, and their fans understood completely, constantly telling the boys that it was fine.
They have some awesome fans.
