《5SOS Sickfics》CALM- Spreading Sickness

Luke wasn't feeling well. He wasn't feeling well at all. His head hurt, his stomach was twisting and he felt as though he was going to throw up. He had to go to school today though, he had a huge assessment that he had to do. He didn't know how he was going to concentrate though, with how he was feeling.
Luke groaned as he got up from his place on his bed. Placing a hand on his stomach, he pressed down in an attempt to ease the pain as he headed towards the bathroom. Looking in the mirror, Luke could see that he was clearly sick. He was paler than normal and had bags underneath his eyes. Knowing that his mother would probably stop him from leaving the house, Luke decided that he needed to move fast.
Luke managed to get dressed, brush his teeth and pack his bag all without disturbing anyone else in the house and without throwing up. At 7:30am, Luke left his room as quietly as possible and headed out of the house. His parents were making breakfast and didn't notice him leave. He left the house quietly and started the long walk to school. The bus wasn't due for another hour, he had enough time to make it to school and not be late.
Luke put his earpods in a turned on his playlist. I Miss You by Blink-182 started to play and Luke attempted to sing along, despite knowing that he was not very good at all. As Luke was halfway through, his stomach started to twist violently. Luke covered his mouth with his hand and looked for something he could throw up into. He spotted a bucket in the yard next to him and rushed over to it, throwing up into it as soon as he got a hold of it.
He threw up for about 3 minutes before he felt a hand on his back. He looked up and saw Calum, his bandmate and best friend from school, rubbing his back and looking at him sympathetically. Luke gave him a weak smile before putting his head back over the bucket, once again throwing up. Once he was finished, Calum took the bucket from him and, without a word, poured it into the green bin and washed it out with the hose.

Luke looked around and realised he had thrown up in Calum's front yard. He wondered how he hadn't noticed it earlier but decided not to press the matter. Soon, Calum came back over and helped him up and into the house.
"How are you feeling Luke?" Calum asked as they got inside the house. Luke shrugged, not sure how to answer. Like, he'd just thrown up into a bucket in his friend's front yard, was there anything more embarrassing?
"Don't tell my mum." Was all Luke could say. Calum looked at him confused, why didn't he want his mum to know?
"Why not?" Calum asked. A few seconds later he remembered that they had a huge assessment today. "Is it because of the assessment?"
"Yeah." Luke croaked out.
"Okay, I won't tell her, and I won't tell my mum because you know how she gets." Calum reasoned. Luke nodded, grateful for his friend's understanding. "MUM! CAN YOU DRIVE ME AND LUKE TO SCHOOL?"
"Why's Luke here darling?" Joy asked, coming down the stairs.
"He was walking to school and I saw him and asked if he wanted a ride and he agreed." Calum swiftly lied.
"In that case, I'd be glad to give you a ride to school." Joy answered, looking at Luke.
"Thank you Mrs Hood." Luke said as the three left the house and got into Calum's mum's car.
"Anytime Mr Hemmings." Joy joked back. The ride to school was filled with some light hearted banter and by the time they got to the school, Luke was feeling significantly better. Calum was feeling a little off but pushed it away to help his friend into the school. The two met their bandmate Michael outside their first class and the three joked around until it was time for class.
Their first two classes went okay, Calum feeling worse and worse as the morning went on. He knew he had caught whatever Luke had. At recess, Calum was rushing down the halls towards the toilets and the other two ran after him. Once they got into the bathroom, they saw Calum throwing up in a sink. The sight set Luke off and he ended up throwing up in a sink next to Calum. Michael tried to help them but it was no use, every time one of them would throw up, it would set the other off and they kept taking turns.

Eventually they stopped chucking up and Michael helped them wash their faces and wash out their mouths before they headed back out of the bathroom. The boys didn't feel like eating so went straight to class. They made it through their next few classes and got out to lunch, none of them really feeling like eating. Throughout the day, all three boys were feeling worse and worse. Finally they made it to their last class but none of the lads were feeling very well. Suddenly, Michael put his hand up, his stomach twisting.
"Yes Michael?" The teacher asked, pausing the video the class was watching on Mitosis.
"May I please go to the toilet?" Michael asked, trying his best not to throw up right there and then.
"Sure." The teacher answered, playing the video. Michael got up, along with Calum and Luke. The teacher didn't care, they always went together. The three rushed down the hallways and into the bathroom. Michael rushed into one of the stalls, his friends blocking their ears trying not to get sick themselves, but Luke found it impossible. He ran into the stall next to Michael and started throwing up aswell. Calum had to leave the bathroom to stop himself from taking the same route as his bandmates.
When they finally get out of the bathroom, Michael and Luke follow Calum back through the now crowded hallways, since school had ended, and back to their classroom. The teacher had left so the three grabbed their bags and headed out of the school. They looked around for one of their parents' cars and saw Ashton's mum's car. They walked over and hopped in the back, chatting to Ashton as they drived to Luke's house for band practice.
When they got to Luke's house, the four hopped out and thanked Ashton's mum for the ride. Heading inside, the three younger lads debated telling Ashton they were sick, but eventually decided against it when they got to their music room. The lads grabbed their acoustic instruments, they usually started with them. Sitting down on the chairs around the room, the lads debated what song to start with.
"Teenage Dirtbag?" Luke suggested.
"We filmed that already, we don't need to practice that again." Michael debated.
"Yeah, but we're gonna do it at the gig soon, so we should practice it." Calum argued. All three of the lads didn't really want to argue about this, their heads were killing them and their stomachs were twisting. But they thought they had to keep up their usual bickering up as to deter Ashton from believing that they were sick. So far, it seemed to be working.
"Does anyone have a better idea?" Ashton questioned. He could sense there was something wrong with the lads, but he wasn't quite sure what it was. All three lads shook their heads, which probably wasn't the best idea. Luke and Calum refrained from touching their fiercely throbbing heads but Michael put his guitar down, looking at the ground and holding his head in his hands, it was becoming a little too much.
"You alright there Mike?" Ashton asked, legitimately concerned for the younger lad. Michael tried to stop himself from letting the tears pool in his eyes but it was no use. He felt pathetic and he needed help.
"No." Michael whimpered, his head killing him.
"Tell me what's wrong." Ashton comforted, kneeling down on the ground in front of Michael. Luke and Calum looked at each other. In the state Michael was in it was clear that it would hurt for him to answer himself, so Calum spoke up.
"His head hurts and his stomach is twisting." Ashton looked at Calum like he was a ghost. Like, he'd practically just read Michael's mind. Was he psychic or something?
"How'd you do that?" Ashton asked, absolutely confused.
"We're all sick." Luke answered for Calum. Ashton understood that now, but he was still creeped out that they'd answered for each other.
"Right. Is it contagious?" Ashton asked. Calum and Luke guiltily nodded. Ashton groaned, he had probably caught it by being in the car with the lads. His mum probably had too.
"Sorry." Michael mumbled.
"It's fine, at least we're all sick together, right?"
