《5SOS Sickfics》Muke- Feverish Friends (Part 2)

Once Ashton and Calum get Muke settled on the couch they mutually decide that a little breakfast is in order. They head into the kitchen and argue a little over what is going to be breakfast, before deciding on pancakes. Ashton makes the batter while Calum chooses the toppings and makes them some coffee. They get the pancakes onto plates and take them, along with their coffee, to the table.
They eat their breakfast happily, waiting for the other two to wake up so that they can give them their medicine. About halfway through eating they hear a sound coming from the backroom, where Muke is. Calum gets up to investigate, telling Ashton to sit back down. As he gets closer the sound becomes clear, a distinct sound of retching. Calum rushes into the backroom to see Michael covered in vomit and the two of them vomiting into their sick buckets.
He calls Ashton in, who drops his fork and rushes in. Once he sees the situation he goes over to Michael, directing Calum to Luke. He takes the bucket from Michael's hands, holding it for him while rubbing his back while whispering reassurances into his ear. After a couple of minutes Michael calms down and Ashton heaves with both sick buckets to clean them. While he is gone, Luke explains that he had woken up and the smell of food had made him begin to vomit.
Michael then says that he was woken by Luke vomiting and the sight of it made him start to vomit. Calum apologises to the two of them before getting them back under the covers and the TV turned on. When Ashton comes back he goes over to the table and then gives the two dotty boys fever, stomach and pain medication. Once the two of them have taken their medicine, Calum puts the thermometers in their mouths and hopes for the best.

It's good news, both of them have fevers of only 101.2 degrees Fahrenheit. Calum and Ashton set up the xbox before sitting down next to the two, handing the other two remotes to the sickly boys. They play a few games of Fifa 17, Lashton vs Malum. It ends up with Lashton winning 1 game and Malum winning 3. They then put a movie on and watch it together. By the end, Michael and Luke are asleep, curled up against Ashton and Calum.
About half an hour, a stopped bus and a few youtube videos later, Ashton turns his phone off and looks over, to see the three asleep on each other, meaning that he can leave. He decides that he should ring management and ask about what is to happen with the concert. He heads out of the backroom, closing the door, and into the kitchen area. He slides himself up onto the bench and presses 'call' on their manager, Jess's number. After a few rings she pick up.
'Ashton, how are we?' Jess greets.
'I'm good, Luke and Michael not so much.' Ashton says.
'Right, what have they got?' Jess asks, seriously.
'I believe they have chicken pox.' Ashton answers.
'Right, they shouldn't have gone near that girl yesterday. Anyway, no use dwelling on the past. Are they throwing up? And high fevers?' Jess asks.
'They've only thrown up once, because of food and each other vomiting. Their fevers are both 101.2 degrees.' Ashton explains.
'I've had a check online, we are not going to be able to cancel tonights concert, it's a fully booked concert. They'll have to be in for makeup half an hour earlier and you'll have to give them an extra large serve of medication before hand. Understand?' Jess asks.

'Yes Jess.' Ashton says.
'See you later.'
'Bye' Ashton says and hangs up. He slides off of the bench and goes to get himself some food. After making himself a sandwich, no cooking needed, he sits down to eat it. About halfway through his sandwich, while watching a youtube video, he sees someone sit down opposite him. He looks over and sees Calum, looking tired.
'Hey Cal, how you feeling?' Ashton asks.
'Decent. Were you able to call off the concert?' Calum asks.
'How'd you-'
'You always try to call of the concert when one of us are sick.' Calum says.
'Okay. The answer is no. It's a fully booked one.' Ashton says.
'Damn, how long do we have?' Calum asks. Ashton looks at the time on his phone. 5:30.
'2 hours until the concert, half an hour until we need to be inside the arena.' Ashton says.
'We'd better get dotty and spotty up then.' Calum says, earning a chuckle from both of them. They head to the backroom and, eventually, get the two sickly boys onto their feet. Ashton feeds the two of them slightly larger than recommended serving of medicine before they head out the door. They leave the safety of their bus and run across the carpark and into the arena, trying to ignore the screams of their fans.
Michael and Luke both have their hoods up to try and hide their spots from the fans before they can get makeup on, which works. Once in their dressing rooms, they get changed before being sat down by the stylists and having makeup cakes on top of their faces. They both are told to wear hoodies over their tops, because it is cold and they are spotty. Once all four of them are ready they make a short stop outside in the carpark to wave to fans before heading to the stage.
They grab their instruments, drumsticks in Ashton's case, and head out onto the stage, gaining screams from every single fan in the arena. They all start to play 18. The first half of the concert goes well, it's during Good Girls that Luke starts to feel a little off. As it comes up to his solo he feels whatever he has left in his stomach start to come up. He tries to stop it but it's too hard. He turns away and takes off his guitar, rushing over to a bucket that they had put on stage just in case.
He starts vomiting and the song stops. A few seconds later, Michael realises what Luke is doing and starts to vomit himself, on the stage though. Ashton and Calum hop into action, picking the two boys up and taking them backstage. They give them both new buckets and help them through it. One of the staff members goes to tell the fans that the concert is cancelled while the lads all go back to the tour bus.
The boys didn't perform for the next 4 days, postponing the tour and taking for days off of their break later in the tour. Michael and Luke both got better and they were back on stage, rocking it out like they always do. Lets just say that they never, ever tried to perform sick again.

What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
