《Fated (A Chris Evans Series)》Champagne?

Chris and Denise returned to the reception hall after a quick stop at the groom's suite to deposit his gifts safely into his duffle bag. Before the couple could return to the magnificent seven to take the photos they'd promised they would, a few of Chris' cast mates from Marvel and their spouses, caught them with a tray of celebratory champagne. It was then Chris and Denise remembered Sebastian was the only member out of all his Marvel cast mates that knew she was pregnant. Sebastian looked worried, as did Chris and Luca when Robert passed Denise a glass that he said was "special, for the bride." They had no idea that he and Susan had overheard her conversation with Salma. Upon hearing she was pregnant, Robert ordered twelve flutes of champagne and a flute of sparkling apple juice.

"You're safe to drink that, Mrs. Evans," Robert whispered into Denise's ear when he moved next to her. She turned to him with a raised brow and chuckled at his smirk that had her realize it wasn't champagne in her glass. "To the bride and groom," Robert began, holding up his flute, "may your lifetime be filled with joy and abundance!"

"What are you doing?" Chris hissed in Denise's ear. "You don't even like champagne- Denise, give that to me-" He reached for her glass, but she snatched it away before he could and took a sip of the sparkling apple juice. "You're not meant to be drinking!" Chris scolded in a volume louder than he intended and gasps erupted throughout the huddle.

"Are you?" Scarlett asked Denise, eyes wide with excitement.

"I've just brushed twelve weeks." Denise nodded, grinning as she looped an arm around Chris' waist. "But keep it down," she hushed them when excited cheers and squeals broke out, "not everyone knows yet. We're trying to keep it a secret until we come back from our honeymoon, but clearly-" she giggled as she turned to Chris, "we're not doing a very good job of it." He shook his head in agreement, laughing.

"We are all so happy for the both of you," Cobie reached for Denise's arm and gave her elbow a gentle squeeze. "This is wonderful news, the two of you are going to make amazing parents." Chris and Denise smiled at each other then back at Cobie with gratitude.

"Agreed," Robert nodded, grinning, "amazing parents."

"Congratulations, you two," the others chimed simultaneously.

"So," Anthony turned to Sebastian and Luca with a mischievous smirk. "When is it Sebastian and Luca's turn? Everyone else here is married with kids, I mean- the clock is ticking. When can we expect a wedding and a baby from the two of you? Sometime in the next year?" The couple blushed. "I'll take that as a yes." Everyone laughed when Sebastian took Luca's hand and disappeared into the crowd. "Daddy Sea Bass, why you gotta be like that?!" Anthony continued to tease, running after them.

"Alright," Chris chuckled as he and Denise returned their flutes to the tray. "We've got to continue making our rounds." He told his cast mates and they nodded in acknowledgment with great understanding. They were all married themselves, they knew the wedding reception was hardly ever about the bride and groom. "Thank you all for coming, it means so much to us. And Downey," Chris turned to Robert with a smile. "Thank you for officiating. You did a great job," he hugged Robert tightly, giving him an affectionate pat on the back.

"A fantastic job." Denise hugged Robert after Chris pulled away.

"You too, kid." Robert smiled at Denise when she withdrew. "I wouldn't have had a wedding to officiate if you didn't agree to marry him. And he needs you in his life, believe me." He told her and Chris chuckled, but agreed with a nod. "You kids go do your thing. Holler if you need anything else 'cause we're all here for you."

Chris and Denise expressed their gratitude, hugging each of them goodbye before they continued making their rounds. They stopped to talk to several members of their respective families: grandparents; aunts and uncles; first, second and third cousins. And as they moved on to talk to Chris' old high school buddies, he couldn't help but smile as he reminded her that "as my wife, my family is now yours. And yours, mine."

After Chris had a beer with his boys, the bride and groom returned to the 'Peter Pan' table to take the photos they had promised the girls. They then walked over to the 'Tangled' table where the next group of eight had returned from the dance floor after seeing the couple had started making their rounds again. At this table sat: Jet, Heather, Alexis, Maisie, Katie, Michelle, Lea, and Steph. It started as it always did, a quick introduction so Chris and Denise knew who they were talking to, then it was sweet compliments, small talk, and a lot of photos.

The table the couple visited next was themed around 'Oliver and Company'; where another eight sat, minus Salma and Tori. Denise found it slightly weird that she was yet to run into Tori, finding out later that she had been hanging out on the dance floor with Sebastian, Luca, and Salma. But the group of six they spent ten minutes talking to were as lovely as all the others they'd already met and talked to. It was the same drill at their table as it had been at everyone else's: sweet compliments, small talk, and photos. Denise apologized to each table as she and Chris bid them goodbye, but they rejected the notion. The fact that they could attend their wedding was already beyond amazing, they didn't need to be entertained nor would they feel offended if the bride and groom didn't talk to them again for the rest of the night. Additionally, with the knowledge they had that dinner was to be served in a short half an hour, they were more than happy to let the couple go fulfill their duties so they could actually sit and eat after a long day.

"I know I already thanked you, but thank you again for being so nice to all my Internet friends." Denise told Chris as they strolled back to their table in time for dinner. "After today, I think- y'know, they've fallen even harder for you," she teased him.

"I had to live up to their expectations after someone wrote some ridiculously perfect fan fiction about me," he joked and she laughed. "Which she isn't writing anymore..." He continued in a flatter, sadder tone. "I get it, Denise." He told her when he heard her emit a weary chuckle. "And I appreciate the notion, I just- I need you to be sure because I don't want you to regret this decision. It is a big decision, you worked hard to build the fanbase you have on Tumblr."

"I know, Chris. But I'm okay, really," she assured him. "I am extremely grateful to everything Tumblr has provided me with and I love my readers, I do. But you and I both know writing on Tumblr doesn't pay the bills, it simply takes up time I can't afford to lose anymore. I've got a career to pursue, a family to take care of...I just-" she huffed. "Tumblr was an escape for me and I no longer need it now that I have you. I know it's a pinch to just quit, but I'm happy with my decision. I promise, there are no regrets."

"In that case," he smiled and squeezed her hand. "Okay, I won't fight you on it. It's not like you've stopped writing altogether, 'cause that one I won't just let go." He told her and she tittered. "I love you and I want you to be happy, if quitting makes you happy then- okay."

"I love you," she smiled, tilting her head up for a kiss.

"I love you too," he dipped his head and met her lips. "Now, shall we go eat some food?"

"Yes, please!" She grinned and he laughed as she dragged him over to their table; the 'Mickey & Minnie' themed table at the front of the reception hall where the bride and groom sat with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Even at a distance, Denise could see where Sebastian and Luca stood, chatting with Salma and Tori. "Tori!" Denise dropped Chris' hand and threw her arms around Tori. Tori laughed and hugged Denise back, understandably as excited to finally meet her in person too. "I'm being super weird, aren't I? We've never met and I just pounced on you."

"You should see how weird you get when you're drunk," Luca mumbled under her breath, laughing when Denise stuck her tongue out at her. "You know I'm just teasing you, Nise. You're always weird, drunk or sober." Denise rolled her eyes whereas Chris and Sebastian laughed, knowing just how true that statement was.

"I think it's normal, I pounced when I saw you out in the yard too," Salma reminded Denise and she laughed. "Honestly," Salma smiled when Chris placed his hand on the small of Denise's back. "The two of you look adorable together." She complimented and the couple smiled. "Superbly sweet."

"I believe Sebastian and Luca called it 'disgustingly sweet'," Tori added. "And I completely agree, I feel like I'm watching one of your stories play out in real life." Chris and Denise chuckled then turned to smile at each other. It was immediate; the hearts in their vicinity melted at the look of love they gave each other.

"I see the food's coming out, so we're going to leave you to eat and go join our table." Salma told the two couples when she spotted the waiters and waitresses exit the kitchen. "Hopefully, we'll be able to talk to all of you again later. Enjoy the rest of your night," she said as she and Tori took their leave, smiling as they bid their goodbyes.

"Disgustingly sweet, huh?" Chris turned to Sebastian and Luca with a raised brow.

"She said that to me earlier when we were late for our own ceremony," Denise told Chris, laughing. "So don't worry, that phrase is not something they wouldn't have said to our faces." Sebastian and Luca nodded, grinning. "Now everyone shut up and sit down," she instructed as she started to walk over to her seat. "The food's coming."

"Might want to save some of that bossiness for our child," Chris quipped as he took his seat.

"Hey," Luca snapped playfully, pointing at Chris as Sebastian pulled out her chair for her. She sat down and Sebastian sat down next to her as she warned Chris, "don't you dare talk to her that way. She's your wife now, best show her some respect," she tried not to laugh as she continued to tease him.

"Yes ma'am," Chris mockingly saluted her, making everyone laugh. "My wife." He smiled and took Denise's hand under the table, bringing it up to his lips. "I still can't believe you're my wife," he murmured, leaving soft vibrations on her skin. "Officially married, that's insane."

"I know, it's- Bruschetta!" Denise yanked her hand from Chris' when the waiter placed her entrée down in front of her. She quickly took a bite then turned to Chris, giggling with her mouth full. "You know you love me," she told him and he nodded, laughing.

"I wouldn't have married you if I didn't."
