《Fated (A Chris Evans Series)》Wedding Band

The day of the concert the couple took a cab to TD Garden instead of driving because they agreed parking would've been horrendous even if they were to get there early. Though the gates only opened at 5:30PM, there were already hundreds and thousands of people waiting and wandering the area. If it had been up to Denise, they would've showed up a little later; as close to 5:30PM as they could possibly get. Denise didn't want to wait in line with the rest of the fans considering who her fiancé was, and how many times her face had been on a magazine in the past few months. But Chris had a point when he said "it's probably in our best interest if we get there earlier, we'll be beating an even bigger crowd." So there they were outside TD Garden with all the other eager fans, both their faces hidden behind sunglasses and under baseball caps.

"Come here." Chris pulled Denise along with him as he circled around the barrier. She didn't know what he was trying to do, but it looked like he was trying to cut to the front of the line. She quickly yanked on his hand when she heard people demanding that they "queue like the rest of us!" She fought futilely against the strength she'd never been able to beat, inevitably quitting. She kept her head down and followed him like a lost, but mostly embarrassed puppy. "Chris Evans," he whispered his name to the man at the door, passing him a blue notecard that had something scribbled across the top.

"I've got Chris Evans at the door, Chris Evans has arrived." The man spoke into his communication device then nodded at the response. "We've got someone coming out to meet you." Denise heard the man tell her fiancé and her heart jumped with excitement. Chris looked over at her and chuckled when she squealed as quietly as she could. "They'll give you a pair of VIP passes, please keep them around your neck at all times. After you," he opened the door for them and Chris walked in, pulling an overexcited Denise along with him.

"Oh my God, Chris!" She whispered-shouted and Chris chuckled. "This is so cool, I've never been a proper VIP with privileges before. When I went to see Taylor Swift with my mom, we did not get this treatment. We queued like the rest of them, for like- six or seven hours in the hot, hot sun. There were ants on the ground and- Yeah, my mom was not happy," she giggled in reminiscent as he released her hand to wrap an arm around her instead.

"I'm not surprised. I mean- six or seven hours in a queue? Under the hot, hot sun? With ants on the ground? What normal person could be happy with that?" He was teasing because he knew very well that was one of the best days of his fiancée's life. "Well, no more." He told her. "You are only going to get VIP treatment from now on, I promise." He kissed the top of her head and she smiled, her arm looping around his waist as she leaned into him.

"Chris Evans and Denise Hogan." A very familiar British accent greeted the both of them, causing Denise to trip over nothing and stumble slightly. She looked up and saw Ed Sheeran walking towards them with two passes dangling from his hand, swinging left and right in the air. Denise's jaw dropped and she darted her gaze at Chris then back at Ed, then again at Chris. No words could fathom her thoughts and emotions at that very moment; she was starstruck. "Welcome to my 'Divide' tour." He handed the passes over to Chris who took both with a grateful smile.

"You're Ed Sheeran," was all Denise could get out, much like the first time she laid eyes on Chris. Both Chris and Ed stifled their laughter, they'd clearly discussed what her first reaction would be upon meeting him. "Oh my God," her voice quivered as she breathed out those three words. "This is amazing," she whispered to herself.

"She's a big, big fan," Chris chuckled, holding out his hand to shake Ed's. "Thank you so much for this, I don't know how I would've gotten tickets if it weren't for you." Ed smiled and nodded then looked over at Denise. She smiled but still couldn't find the words to speak. "Yeah," Chris spoke for her, "I think she's going to need a few minutes."

"That's alright," Ed beckoned his head for the couple to follow him. "We've got all night." Chris stopped Denise for a brief moment, moving in front of her to loop the pass over her head. He pinched her chin, winking when she whispered-screamed nothing at him. He looped the pass over his own head then took her hand and continued following Ed down the hall. "How's filming going?" Ed quizzed, throwing a glance at them over his shoulder.

"It's going," Chris responded with a weary laugh. "I love it, but I'm honestly ready to call it a day and head home to my girl here." He squeezed Denise's hand and she smiled at him. "And yourself? You sound like you've got a longer journey than I do." Chris said and Ed nodded, a similar weary laugh released. "At least we're doing what we love, right?"

"Right," Ed agreed. His gaze fell on Denise and he smiled, "how are you doing there, Denise?"

"I think I can speak now," she exhaled nervously. Her adorably humble nature coaxed smiles from both men. Ed slowed to walk beside her rather than in front, turning when she spoke, "thank you so much for helping Chris get tickets, Ed- or Mr. Sheeran? Oh God," she mumbled to herself, "I don't know what to call Ed Sheeran."

"Ed's fine," Ed assured Denise with a chuckle, to which she nodded in acknowledgment. "And it was an absolute pleasure. Come on, Captain America asking for my help to save his world?" Denise looked up at Chris, smiling. It was an obvious reference to the charm dangling off her bracelet, the one he had custom-made for her. "It would've been a crime not to oblige. I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic myself, I like a good love story and yours- it's brilliant."

"Thank you," a simultaneous reply.

"We love your song 'Perfect', like- we love it," Denise told Ed and he smiled. Chris had already told him how they felt about the song. Ed knew exactly what that song meant to them as a couple, even just to her as a writer. 'Perfect' was one of his favorite songs too, it touched him knowing another couple could resonate as deeply with that song. "It is a very good summary of our relationship, or where we want our relationship to end up."

"Chris mentioned that on the phone," Ed disclosed and Denise turned to Chris, smiling. "Which is why later when I dedicate that song to a very special couple in the crowd, you'll know it's for the both of you. I don't think I should mention any names for security reasons." He chuckled when Chris and Denise nodded with pursed lips. "Anyway, this is my dressing room." He opened the door and beckoned them in. "You're welcome to hang out, or you can wander the stadium. I'll be doing a soundcheck soon that you'll have full access to." Denise tried not to squeal but failed. "But there are some things we need to discuss before we get to the fun stuff, isn't that right?" He quizzed and shared a knowing smile with Chris that bemused Denise.

"Oh, absolutely," Chris nodded. "It's vital we discuss first."

"What are we discussing?" Denise asked, glancing between the two.

"I may have made some premature wedding decisions without you," Chris told Denise and her eyes narrowed in confusion. "I know we said we'd discuss everything but there was a very good offer I couldn't refuse." She scoffed with a frown, hard facials asking "what did you do?" Chris fought his urge to smile and said, "I may have booked our wedding band already."

"You did what?" Denise's eyes widened. "Why would you do that?" She asked. It was amusing to both men how she hadn't connected the dots. They could've just attended the concert but there they were backstage with him, she didn't ask herself why? It could be said in her defense that Ed Sheeran being the entertainment for their wedding was a little far fetched for her to guess. "We haven't even picked a date, Chris. Why are you arranging a wedding band?"

"It's not so much of a band, rather a solo artist," Ed spoke up and Denise turned to him. She saw the smile on his face and suddenly, it all made sense. She stopped breathing as she turned back to Chris, he could only laugh at her stunned expression. "I hope you don't mind me crashing, Denise."

"You're going to sing at our wedding?" She asked breathlessly then stared blankly at the two men as they nodded. These two men were men she never thought she'd be lucky enough to meet, let alone have what she had with them. "That is- that's like on my bucket list. Ed Sheeran singing at my wedding is on my bucket list, marrying you is on my bucket list." She wrapped her hand around Chris' wrist tightly, squeezing until he winced. "Am I dreaming right now? This is real, right? This is- it's all happening?"

"It's all happening," Chris nodded, loosening her grip on his wrist. "Ed's singing at our wedding and you're marrying me. This is all happening," he assured her and she managed a shaky laugh. "Are you okay, baby? Do you need to sit down, or maybe you need a bottle of water?"

"I need you to love me less so there aren't anymore big romantic gestures that will give me a heart attack and kill me before I'm twenty-one." She said and both guys bellowed with laughter. "God dammit, Chris Evans," she turned to him and cupped his face in her hands. "Could you be any more perfect?"

"If I were any more perfect," he smiled, "I'd be my fiancée." She chuckled, shaking her head in disbelief. "I love you, Denise." He whispered when he dipped his head, his lips inches from hers. She smiled and pecked his lips.

"I love you too."
