《Kiss It Better, Dr. Ross》Bathtime

Spencer crept into Brendon's room, wincing when he flicked on the light. He slowly made his way over to the bed. Brendon was practically buried in the blanket. He looked peaceful as he slept in one of Ryan's shirts, clutching a pillow as a substitute for his boyfriend. Spencer hated this part of his day, but it had to be done. He reached over and gently shook Brendon's shoulder.
"Hey," he whispered. "It's time to get up." Brendon let out a groan and buried his face into the pillow. "Cmon." Spencer shook him again.
"I don' wanna," Brendon grumbled.
"But you gotta. We need to shower you before I go to work." Brendon didn't answer, not wanting to get out of bed yet. Spencer let out a sigh and gripped the edge of the blanket.
"You leave me no choice." He slowly peeled the blanket off the bed causing Brendon to desperately reach for the covers before his body was exposed to the cold air.
"No, no, no," he moaned as his face scrunched up in dismay.
"Get up," Spencer said as he tossed the blanket aside. Brendon squinted one eye open to look at his friend.
"I don't like you," Brendon pouted. Spencer rolled his eyes and sat at the edge of the bed. He held out one hand which Brendon took and wrapped his other arm around Brendon's back. He slowly brought the man up into a seated position before letting got.
He gave Brendon time to rub the sleep from his eyes before he stood up and positioned Brendon at the edge of the bed. He got down in front of him, facing away. Just like their other recent mornings, Brendon leaned forward and wrapped his arms around Spencer's neck.

Spencer shut his eyes, mouthing an apology. He carefully lifted him up and made his way to the bathroom. Brendon rested his head against him and let out a sigh. Spencer frowned, hating how defeated Brendon sounded.
"How are you feeling today?"
"Tired," Brendon answered in a monotone voice. "Same as everyday." Neither spoke after, not knowing what else they could talk about now.
Spencer went to the toilet first, facing away from it. He helped Brendon off his back and onto the floor. Spencer didn't move, letting Brendon still hold onto him for support as he kicked off his boxers before sitting down on the toilet.
Spencer took a few steps forward, keeping his back to Brendon for some sense of privacy. He waited until Brendon was done before speaking.
"Do you need help today?" There was a soft 'no' followed by a flush.
"You can turn around now." Spencer took a pause before doing so and closing the space between them. Brendon was still on the toilet, eyes looking elsewhere as he slowly pulled his shirt off. Spencer wrapped his arms under Brendon's and pulled him to his feet. With the assistance, Brendon made his way to the bath tub that Spencer had filled before waking him up.
Spencer waited as Brendon struggled to get his leg over the edge, eventually giving up and letting Spencer lift him in. The bath was mostly silent except for the occasional splash of water when Spencer would soak Brendon's hair.
"I feel like a child," Brendon muttered. Spencer stopped as he was lathering shampoo into his hair. He continued after a beat.
"Does that make me your mother then?" He joked. Brendon splashed some water at him, laughing at how Spencer tried to lighten the mood.

"So Ryan's my daddy?" Spencer playfully pulled Brendon's hair.
"Ow!"
"Don't say that," Spencer scolded but couldn't hide his laugh.
"Why not? What if I like the sound of that? Daddy Ryan."
"Gross. Keep that between you and Ryan." Brendon snickered as Spencer continued washing him. There was another silence, but this one was way more comfortable. Spencer moved to scrubbing Brendon's body, handing the man the scrub when it came to parts under the water. Spencer poured water over his friend's body, only pausing when he heard a light sniffle.
"Bren?" Brendon rose a hand up to wipe his face only to wet it more.
"Yeah." His voice cracked, making him clear his throat. Spencer moved to look Brendon in the face. The man had his head down, but Spencer saw tears fall into the water, causing mini ripples.
"Bren." He waited a moment for a response. "Brendon, look at me." This time Brendon complied and exposed a crying face to his friend. "What's wrong?" Brendon shook his head and shrugged.
"Nothing. I just," he stopped and looked back down at the water. "I'm gonna miss you." Spencer couldn't hold it back. He grabbed Brendon and pulled him into a hug. Brendon clung onto him, drenching the man's shirt but neither cared. Brendon could feel the warm drops of tears hit his bare shoulder.
"I'm gonna miss you too." They stayed like that for a few minutes. Spencer was awkwardly leaning over the tub so Brendon didn't have to be uncomfortable.
"Thanks for everything Spence."
"Quit talking like you're going to leave soon." Brendon chuckled as they pulled apart.
"Sorry." Spencer wiped his face with his sleeve before clearing his throat.
"Alright. Let's get you out and dressed. I gotta go to work soon." Brendon nodded and let Spencer assist him up. They both moved, neither speaking about just happened again.

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image

Reincarnation of a Businessman
A businessman is betrayed by those he holds dearest and reincarnates into a mystical world of cultivation where the power of a single person can split the heavens. However, his reincarnation does not go smoothly... ******************** This is a xianxia (cultivation/progression fantasy) story which fuses a lot of western fantasy elements. This story includes POV's of different characters which are all going to be developed in the future and will have an effect on the story. The novel is named after the reincarnation of the businessman which serves as a cataclysm in the world of cultivation, and while the MC uses some of his business knowledge, this novel is not centered around the MC creating a business empire. I plan to extend the story into at least 2 books, both taking place in the same world. ******************** Updates will happen once every 2 days, but this is often going to change to once every day or once every 3 days because I am not currently writing full-time, and neither is my editor.
