"Hey, (Y/N)?" A voice pierced your ears through the morning dew silence as you sat alone in the kitchen, sipping your tea with tired eyes. You looked up to see Bakugo, surprising you.
"What's up?" You smiled, teeth showing just a bit as you swung your legs back and forth, curious. He sighed, lifting up a piece of paper.
"Is this some sort of joke...?" Katsuki said, eyebrows furrowed as he slightly crumpled the paper in his hands. You felt yourself grow tense at his expression, becoming confused...
"I'm sorry, what?" You said, feeling your throat close up a tiny bit. Why is he acting so different?
"Don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about." He said bluntly but quietly, lifting up the paper for me to see as he averted my gaze, looking down at the floor.
It was quiet in the commons area, nothing but the noise of my own heart-rate pounding in my skull, against my ears.
"It'll never happen."
You felt your face scrunch up in pure bewilderement at his seldom words, looking down at the paper.
Your face dropped.
It was... the love letter you'd made for him...?
Your stomach churned as you gripped the counter shakily, knuckles turning white. For a moment you could've sworn time had stopped. You took in everything at that moment; his disappointed and somewhat angered expression, the rips and tears on the page, and the wetness on your cheeks.

"H...How did you...find it..." The words came out in trickles; you felt as though you'd throw up your food if you spoke too fast. This was your worst fear coming true.
Rejection.
Disapproval.
From the person you love.
He opened his mouth to respond, but you didn't hear a word for some reason.
The room began to spin for a moment, your head feeling light as he spoke. A wave of heat hit your body, cheeks flushing red as you reclined against the cabinet, closing your eyes. You were afraid that if you'd open your eyes you'd throw up due to the dizziness.
"I'm... I'm sorr-"
You passed out, your limp body sliding against the cabinets slowly, arms falling from your lap to your sides.

Awakening the Stars
In a world of mystical Gifts, the nation of Ophelia was once a harmonious land, governed by the four Courts and favored by the stars. Since its beginnings, the Ash, Terris, Zephyr, and Aquae Courts have allied firmly to serve their people, each bestowed with a power at birth by their ruling entity. Despite their differences, however, the unity of the people remained taut for many centuries. But alas, the balance was fated to tip. Those in authority have begun to fall to corruption and dominion. A deadly attack on innocent villagers finally exposes their true nature, setting the stage for a kingdom poised to crumble. At the center of it all lies an unlikely cast: a young Runner training for life as a guard in the Terris mountains to fulfill the visions of his esteemed father. A Persuader heir to a family of wealthy politicians, stuck between her parents’ expectations and her rebellious nature. A Levitator apprentice learning the ways of an apothecary before his peaceful life is uprooted by an unsettling tragedy. And a Breather girl whose entire world yielded to an unusual occurrence within herself, with no one to turn to for her peculiar ailment. When it seems their kingdom is on the brink of war, a mysterious woman offers them a solution, and the four Ophelians are drawn to her noble path. An unlikely alliance. Underlying motives. A dangerous weapon. Yet one thing is clear: if they do not rise up to meet this looming threat, then the fate of their people and the lives they yearn for will be in jeopardy. ---------- The first novel in a working series. Written by two co-authors under one account. Chapters are aimed to be released every Friday and Sunday.
