"Why the hell are you here?" You groaned quietly.
It was 2:43am, and Shinsou was at your dorm, wide-awake.
"I used my quirk too much in training today..." A frown of realization spread across your face as you realized what that meant.
Whenever he had over-used his quirk too much, he ended up with insomnia later on. Shinsou had warned you about this, and you had forgotten about it until now.
"That doesn't justify why you're at my dorm right now." You half-angrily said to your boyfriend, trying to rub the tiredness out of your puffy eyes.
"Can I sleep here?" The question startled you. Your eyes narrowed with confusion as you looked at him, observing his face as it morphed into one of slight embarrassment. He turned away from your stare, clicking his tongue.
"Fine, I guess." After a moment, you agreed contently. You waddled back to your bed, jumping onto the plush mattress. A soft sigh of relief escaped your lips as you felt the soft blankets surround you again.
The weight of the bed shifted as he laid down besides you, hesitant to move closer.
You looked up at him, noticing his messy-purple hair gleaming in the pale moonlight. Your fingers trailed to his head as you massaged his scalp, infatuated with his luxurious hair. He stiffened next to you.
"Relax. You came here to do that, didn't you?" He hesitated, before realizing that you were right. He scooted closer, closing his eyes as you rubbed his hair between your thumb and finger gently, twirling it.
No-one had played with his hair like that. It felt... oddly nice. Shinsou could feel the warmth radiating off of your body as you laid so close.
Shinsou wrapped an arm around your back, bringing you closer to his own body. You arched an eyebrow.
"Shut up." His voice was calm, but the blush on his cheeks contradicted his tone of voice ironically. You snickered into his shoulder.
"I didn't even say anything, idiot." You remarked, a playful smirk on your lips. He rolled his eyes, a tiny smile forming.
"Good-night. Dork." He quietly said, kissing your forehead.
"Night." You hummed lazily, closing your eyes as you nuzzled into him.

Debut: the day every young gentleperson of age gathers to receive their Spirit Blessing and shift for the first time into their second form. Except for those who don't. Beatrice's worst fear is to be one of the unlucky few trapped perpetually in a human body, cut off from the magic of the spirits and unfit for any respectable pack or pride. But when the time comes to face her fear, the outcome is one she never could have imagined. Be warned, this story is some highly experimental fluff—an unapologetically girly, unrelentingly bisexual, Regency/Victorian-ish fantasy mish-mash. It does have a dark side, though, so don’t come in expecting all sunshine and roses. Worthy of note, given the reputation of shifter stories: there will be no explicit sex in this tale. There will, however, be lots of polyamorous romance, necromancy, portal magic, capricious spirits, elemental mages, an unconventional take on shifters and a highly ordered society built around their existence.
