"David..."
"David.."
"David."
"DAVID MOTHERFUCKING KING!"
David snapped out of whatever trance he was in, and jumped off the ground where he was sitting. "What?! What happened?!" He sees Leon standing in front of him with his arms crossed.
"I don't know, maybe you were sitting there with a look like you were so madly in love." Leon says, sitting down in front of David. "Like you're any better."
"Who is it? I've been trying to figure that out for so long." Leon asks. "No one, Leon. It's no one." Leon snorts. "Like hell it is. I'll tell ya what, if you tell me who's on your mind all the time, I'll tell you who is one my mind, all the time."
David thinks for a second. "No." Leon fakes an expression of offense. "Wow, that was a great deal. You should've taken it."
"I'm good. It was good, but not good enough." Leon sighs. "I'll find out someday, I know I will." David rolls his eyes, but is engulfed in black fog and then he's in Ormond. He sighed, looking around to find a gen. He spots one not to far away, and walks over. He kneels down, and starts working.
He almost has it done, not noticing the heartbeat ringing in his ears. A sharp object is plunged into his back, followed by a maniacal laugh. "Shit.." David mumbles.
"Nice work of that gen, 남자 아기. Too bad I have to destroy it." David freezes. Oh god no. Please no. Why me? David turns around slowly. And sure enough, be sees the Trickster standing there with his little knives in hand, his blue hair almost glowing.
David takes off running into any direction. The Trickster stays back and watches David hurry away from him, probably not realizing the glowing knife in his back.

David stops by a tree, and looks around to see if the killer followed him. David, thinking he didn't, signed in relief as he knelt down, out of breath. "Good, I lost him." He mumbles.
"Lost who?" David jumps. "Who-" David freezes again as he sees the Trickster yet again, but only inches away from his face. David screams, and falls backwards, only to be caught. "Now now, we can't have that knife going any deeper. Calm down, I'm trying to help. I actually meant to hit the gen next to you, but you moved." The Trickster says, turning David over and putting a steady hand on the knife plunged in his back.
He removes it, David wincing at the pain that knife caused when removed. The pain was getting to be unbearable. "Fuck.." David mumbles. The Trickster pulls David into his chest, sensing the distress of the survivor before him, and sits down on the ground with David in his lap.
"Shhhh, it will all stop soon enough. It'll be fine. Don't worry." The Trickster's voice was somehow soothing to David, who let a few tears fall down his face. "Hey now, don't cry. We can't have you crying. It will make it worse."
"아기, please stop crying. It will make the pain worse on you." The Trickster says, running his hands through David's hair. David slowly took deep breaths in, and out, leaning into the killers touch.
"Um, thank you Trickster." The Trickster smiles slightly. "My names actually Ji-woon. I would prefer that over 'Trickster'." David nods. "Um I have to go now. Thank you though." Ji-woon shakes his head. "No, you can wait with me until the gates open. I'll bring you there, 사랑."
David nods, still confused as to what those words mean in English. After a bit, they both hear the gates open, and wait for a few minutes before heading to the closest one. "I'll see you, Ji-woon. Thank you." He mumbles the last part.
"No problem, see ya soon!" He says, holding up a heart with his fingers. David smiles slightly, and when he walks through the gate, he's met with Leon.
"Well Leon, I'll tell you who I've been daydreaming of." David says. and Leon jumps up and down like a child. "Finally! And I'll tell you who I have been too."

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
