《DBD oneshots》9 - Letters (Dwight x Trapper) (pt.2)

Trial after trial, Dwight hasn't seen the Trapper, known as Evan to him, for a while. He thinks that the killer forgot about him by now. It's been that long.
But, it's quite the opposite. Evan has been thinking about Dwight all the time after their encounter. He's been hoping to see him again, but, luck isn't always on his side.
Dwight was sitting near the fire, alone. He was here, while everyone else was asleep. He has to admit, it was pretty lonely. Suddenly, a crow is heard above him, and then a note is dropped on him.
He looks at it confused, then at the crow, who is looking at him with a tilted head, like he was waiting. Dwight opened the note, confused as to who sent it, and how.
Hey Dwight, remember me? It's Evan. I kind of, you know, missed you, even though I've only met you, like, once. I don't know why I wrote this, but I just thought I had to. So, maybe, next time we see each other, we could spend a little extra time in the trial together?
Dwight blushed at the heart at the end. Evan did remember him. The crow was still waiting for him for some reason. Dwight found his notebook, and wrote a letter of his own.
Evan was by the fire, waiting for his crow to come back. He sighs, already regretting sending the note. But, he was disturbed by a crow caw, and he sees his crow with a paper in it's talons. He opens it and reads it.
Hey Evan! I thought you forgot about me, honestly. It's actually really nice knowing you didn't you know? And yeah, I would like to spend time with you next time I see you in trial. And, I also missed you too.

Evan smiles. His heart flutters, seeing as Dwight wrote a heart just like him. He immediately starts writing another letter for Dwight.
And so, the two spent the night sending letters back and forth to each other, smiling whenever they receive another. And, every letter sent, always ended in the same thing. A small gesture, but it can make a dark, depressing place seem okay. A small heart, that could make a big man smile.
