《Heart and Soul (Stingsu, Sting X Natsu)!》(Rewritten) Chapter Two: The Match Part: Two

Romeo along with the rest of the guild were speechless. Natsu and Wendy often talked about their dragon parents, but to see one in person was a different story.
Out of the entire group; Wendy, Mavis, and Makarov looked the least shocked out of all of them. Not that they weren't surprised, they were just less startled.
Well, in all honesty, First and Sixth were still sulking about "paperwork" and "jewel". Romeo couldn't understand how, or why, they were able to think about money when an actual dragon was above the arena. After it spoke he heard Sting, the White Dragon Slayer, whisper what sounded like 'Natsu'.
'What's Natsu having to do with any of this?' Romeo wondered before he realized something. 'Oh no, he's gonna be sad that he missed this!'
A few of the members including Erza, Gray, and Juvia had left to go and help the panicking audience members leave the stadium. Truth be told, they all should've gone, but they couldn't move a muscle.
Mira and Lisanna has rushed to the infirmary to inform Lucy and Elfman what exactly was happening above ground, and what all the commotion was about.
Romeo felt useless, Natsu wouldn't do this! He would've rushed to help anyone he could.
Romeo tried to take a step backwards, towards the exit. Maybe he could help the others using his fire magic to burn arrows onto the walls so people knew where to go; but he ended up tripping and falling. Useless.
If it wasn't for the few members already on the ground, his mistaken step would've been embarrassing. Seems like quite a few of them had thought to try and leave, but ended up falling over like him thanks to the shock.
It was the same with the other guilds, some members were either missing or sprawled out on the floor while others, particularly the stronger or overly confident, looked ready to jump into the arena.
After about two minutes of silence the Dragon hissed out a bit of smoke, sending shivers down Romeo's spine, and a very round, very large, Droy falling on top of him because of the quaking from the insane volume, knocking him out cold instantly.
Stings eyes sharpened, he had decided that if it was in fact Natsu it shouldn't be a problem, at least not a big one, to fight. They were in a match still, after all. Rogue had realized the same, and was also happy to fight a 'challenging' opponent.
Natsu had already landed within the ring and waited patiently for them to make the first move. Mostly because he had no idea how many people were within the confines of the halls that might get damaged if he attempted to take any steps.
"Rogue! I'll take him from the left!" Sting shouted as he surrounded his arms in light, and started running with his head down, in a hunched position, to make himself a smaller target.
Rogue nodded in a silent agreement before he vanished from view, racing in his shadow to Natsus right.
"!" He called out as he pounced from the darkness, swiping at Natsus underbelly but was blocked by a large claw.
Rogue growled as he put energy into shoving against the huge limb, and he was succeeding for the most part. He would be able to hold it back for a few minutes, but it was clear Natsu would crush him eventually.
"Gotcha!" Sting yelled as he punched him in the jaw with a pre-charged attack. He was aiming to dislocate it, and make any mouth based attacks more difficult to execute.

Natsu hissed, surprised by the unforeseen blow. His jaw ached, but was defiantly fine. But that would definitely leave a bruise. He'd have to watch more carefully
Rogue jumped back and into the open air, and charged another attack, "".
It was almost, almost, a direct hit. But Natsu used one of his wings as a shield.
He regretted it instantly. Once again, nothing was broken or damaged to any great degree, but the pain was intense. He hollered out quietly, at least for a massive beast, in anguish.
Sting smirked, thinking that the reaction meant they were making progress. As Natsus scales were black he wasn't able to see any scratches, but there were definitely none deep enough to draw blood. He would've smelled it.
He saw an opening, just behind Natsus front right 'arm'. He dashed forward and quickly came within firing distance, "".
The attack was ever so close to hitting, but Natsu deflected it within a few seconds before it made contact using his tail.
He stiffened, expecting more pain to race through his nerves, but felt nothing besides a light tickle. 'That was a close one though... I'll need to finish this soon, we'll out of time,' He realized.
How long had they been fighting? Ten minutes? Fifteen? Twenty!?
Sting and Rogu-
Well,
Sting wasn't concerned in the slightest. All he had to do was hit him fast and hard, and he'd go down eventually.
For the next five minutes or so, Sting and Rogue continued an almost endless assault. But there was something off about this fight... this was a two against two battle so... where was the iron dragon?
Well he, of course, was lying on the floor enjoying the show. "The idiots really getting his ass handed to him, gihee" He said through a mouthful of scrap metal from the derbies.
Natsu overheard and smacked a large rock, which fell from the wall earlier, with his tail aiming for the snacking slayer. Gajeel rolled out of the way, and growled, "Watch it!" he grabbed a chunk of the boulder and ripped a piece of metal out and stuffed his face aggressively.
As the battle progressed he called out different things, ranging from insults, 'encouragement' or, rarely, a warning.
"Just beat them already!"
"You coulda blocked that!"
"You look like an idiot!"
"Behind you!"
If Natsu wasn't trying to shoot for a dramatic reveal at the end of this... he woulda yelled something back. All he could do was glare or growl quietly.
A bell rung five times, signifying five minutes remaining till the match would be declared a draw.
'No more playing around, Ill need to finish this now.' Natsu decided, he looked around quickly noticing a lack of hits. He found the two standing in the middle of the arena, Rogue with his usual stoic expression, with a very slight curl to the corners of his mouth, and Sting not even attempting to hide the satisfied predatory grin that was covering his face.
"Running out of time, better finish this fast, right Rogue?" Sting asked, he wiped a bit of sweat from his brow. He was already panting but felt hat his efforts were worth it. Natsu had cried out a few more times, and he smelled a little bit of blood.
Thinking back, it took a couple hours of throwing attacks at Weisllogia, even with him not moving an inch, to break his scales. 'Seems like dads still the best,' Sting thought, eliminating all of his doubts.
"We should finish this off now, Master would kill us if we got a draw" Rogue said quietly, and sounded disgusted when he said the word draw. As if the idea was in some way toxic.

Sting sighed, "And to think this was getting kinda fun," he sounded disappointed, but his pleased smile implied the opposite. He was more then happy to finish this off, Master would take his head for failing a second time. This was his only chance to redeem himself, and he wasn't gonna disappoint. He liked living just a little too much to piss him off... again.
Rogue extended one hand behind his back, and got into and all to familiar position, communicating what he wanted to without using words.
Natsu was oblivious to what was coming next, they rarely broke this move out unless it was for something worthy. In their minds, he should be honored that he forced them to resort to using it.
Sting glanced at Rogue quickly before taking up a mirrored position. He clenched his teeth, and his face tensed, as he pushed out as much of his magic power as possible into a sphere of light. Rogue, who usually didn't show many reactions in battle, did the same but with a ball of shadows.
Natsu watched with faint pity, they were putting a lot of effort into this and it would only knock him back a couple feet, and scuff up and maybe scratch him. If they were lucky, maybe deep enough to draw a couple more drops of blood.
But it'd hurt like hell. That's for sure.
"" Sting called out, the two orbs began to grow brighter and shrunk to the size of volleyballs as the word echoed throughout the emptied arena.
"" Rogue continued. The orbs grew even smaller, now only the size of golf balls in the palm of their hands.
Both managed a grin as it vanished, victory was in the palm of their hands! ""
The orb, now singular, reappeared. It was a perfect blend of Shadow and Light, and no matter how much it broke the laws of electromagnetic radiation, was pretty... pretty.
A pulse of magic energy caused a gust of wind to kick up some dust. 'Shit... this is gonna do some real damage...' Natsu realized, too late to do anything but mentally brace for the strike... unless...
Sting blinked out a drop of sweat that had fallen into his eye, but he was too focused to notice the sting. He yelled out alongside Rogue the final part of their spell "", before the final syllable even passed their lips the attack erupted forth, sending debris and dust into the air. Enough to make even Gajeel duck.
The destructive force of the spell was immense, it looked capable of ripping mountains apart. Fitting for the children of Dragons. How much could it blow through if they truly put their mind to it?
A mountain is one thing... but how many mountains could it go through before it stopped. For the sake of Fiore, and mountains everywhere, let's hope they don't try and find out.
But even such a powerful spell is not immune to heat... very, very, hot heat. Flames of crimson cut through the center of the attack, cutting its power and damage down to a more manageable amount.
Of course no one, not even the most powerful of wizards, could stop it all. Natsus limbs, most notably his wings, were caught in the blast range. Pain surged through his nerves, and luckily the attack ceased soon after, but he had to fight back the urge to clench his jaw as he was sti... wait.
He was still spewing fire...
And Sting and Rogues attack stopped...
So...
Fuck!
He stopped resisting and his jaw slammed closed instantly, and the fire vanished as quick as it came.
The smoke wasn't quite as fast, and some of the ground still glowed red from the heat. He cringed a little at the thought of what Makarov would have to say about this... but luckily that was the most of his worries.
Rogue and Sting seemed to be mostly unharmed, at least compared to what he was expecting. Seems like the contact between the two attacks had caused some explosion that fired them into the wall, knocking them out cold. But they wouldn't be fine for a little while... both were severely burned, and Rogue would need to get a cast for his right arm. It was bent at a weird angle.
Sting seemed to suffer more on his back then anywhere else, he must've turned around to protect his stomach. Maybe he'd get a scar or two judging by the large gash that went down from his left shoulder, to his bottom right rib.
Metal in the walls was seriously a horrible idea, only one person was Gajeel. And he ate it.
Romeo awoke to a bit of quaking, and sat up quickly. He was a little light headed, but managed to stand.
Looking over the railing he was able to make out a bit of the arena wall crumbling, and two bodies. He thought they were dead for a second until his eyes focused fully, and was able to make out the raise and fall of their chests.
He breathed a sigh of relief before realizing...
There was still a dragon in the arena. And Natsu was missing too.
The dragon began to walk towards the two and Romeo remembered something he read in a book about rare/mythological creatures.
Dragons sometimes ate people...
What if...
Oh Mavis!
He looked around quickly, hoping that someone would say something, anything, to somehow stop it.
It wouldn't be impossible. Sting and Rogue had clearly done a good amount of damage, it's wings were torn in some places and it had cuts and gashes all over its body.
Obviously it was no where near as powerful as Acnolgia was, it took out a bit of an arena. Acnolgia took an entire island off the map.
His eyes settled upon Makarov, and found him staring at the sight. He made no comment, had no reaction, and appeared to be focusing on something elsewhere.
Mavis was floating just above the railing, but was actually in the moment. But spoke nothing and made no move to order the guild to battle.
Last was Wendy, the only Dragon Slayer present at the time. Laxus had opted to go out for a drink, out in the city, with Cana as it'd be cheaper. Surely she'd know what to in this situation, but allas she seemed more focused on Sting and Rogues unconscious forms then that of the dragon waking towards them!
But before he could shout something about helping them, which a couple of guild members seemed ready to do as well, a familiar glow filled the arena.
At first, Romeo thought it was a fire, but upon looking back, and nearly blinding himself doing so, he saw it was coming from the dragon instead of coming from a flame.
And this was defiantly not some type of self combustion, more like something was shining from within its body.
It grew brighter and brighter, and began to... warp. It started to shrink and take on a more bipedal shape.
It was a human sized glowing being for a couple seconds and the next...
.
.
.
.
.
The next...
.
.
.
.
.
It was Natsu.
The spectators didn't make a peep, all of them were shocked. Such a strange sound when everyone stops breathing at the same time. They didn't even gasp... they just... just froze.
It was like the life was sucked right out of the air. The sound that snapped them all back to reality being the bell that rung to signify the end of a match.
A single screen flickered into existence above the field of destruction that was the arena, with a '+10' next to Fairy Tails name and score, before adding up and showing them they jumped to first.
After it registered in their minds, they cried out in celebration. Momentarily forgetting just how they got those points.
In the background, hidden in the shadow of the doorway, Lucy watched with a smile and giggled. Not at all surprised that Natsu had destroyed a good portion of the arena, and scared the crowd out.
They were Fairy Tail after all, of course they'd take the lead with a big show.
Albeit... no one saw it since they were fleeing for their lives. But those six seconds before they started screaming in terror... perfect.
Sting slowly woke up, and the first thing he felt was a hard mattress underneath him. It took him a second to realize it was the uncomfortable kind used in hospitals and clinics... for patients.
Which meant he got his ass handed to him.
Which also meant he'd need another hospital after Jiemma 'dealt' with him.
He groaned, and slowly opened his eyes. He first saw a plain white ceiling before looking around. Plain walls, three more beds, a door, another door, and a single window...
Something was off, he didn't remember Sabertooths usual infirmary, the one reserved for the number one guild, having a window. But then again, he never spent much time in it, and didn't have the best memory.
He noticed Rogue was sleeping on the bed to his right, Frosch was with him too...
He looked around for Lector but found him no where until he realized...
He was curled up against his side, sleeping peacefully.
Sting was surprised to say the least, he had expected him to be angry or disappointed but he did the exact opposite of what he was expecting. If it wasn't for Stings injuries he'd probably be hugging the cat close.
His eyes drifted to the table and he noticed a couple boxes of takeout. Enough to feed the exceeds for at least three days. He also noticed a letter next to them but his vision would be too blurry to read it, considering everything was a little fuzzy.
He heard Rogue beginning to stir in his bed and watched him sit up. He was obviously quite disoriented judging by the rapid movements of his eyes trying to figure out what had happened.
"Mornin," Sting grumbled. Rogue looked over quickly and nodded in acknowledgment.
Sting noticed the cast on his arm and quickly checked his limbs. Miraculously all of his were fine and in the open, except for a couple bandages.
"How's your arm?" He asked as he pointed to the limb.
Rogue blinked a few times before following his finger, he looked surprised to see the cast on his arm, "Honestly, I can't feel it," he admitted quietly. "You?"
"Umm..." Sting didn't exactly feel like he was in pain, and from the lack of light shining in through the window there probably weren't any nurses or doctors, any employees really, on duty, which meant nothing too serious. "I'm fine, I guess," he mumbled a he put his hands behind his head and flopped into his pillow.
Lector stirred a little bit and grinned slightly, "Your ego?" he asked teasingly through the drowsiness.
Sting smiled down warmly at his sleepy companion, before pulling him into a gently hug. "That's a little damaged, nothing a good old nap won't fix!" He answered cheerfully.
"Natsus strong... yoooooooou did good..." Lector yawned. "You shoulda seen everyone's faces... Funny," He hugged Stung slightly, but was obviously tired, and not just from waking up a minute prior. Just how long has he been staying up?
"How bout you tell me more in the morning?" Sting offered.
"I can tell you nooooooooooooooooow" He yawned again and rubbed his eyes.
"Your tired, and so am I, you can tell me all about it tomorrow," Sting patted his head and Lectors eyelids drooped even further down.
"Fiiiiiiiiiiine..." He groaned before relaxing a little bit and bringing his tail up around himself, "night..." he mumbled as he drifted off once again.
Sting hugged him a bit closer and whispered, "Night,". He looked back to Rogue, wanting to talk a bit, but he was already sleeping again.
