《Ancient God (Ancient Love Poetry)》Chapter 11: Punishment

In Xuantian Palace (Heavenly Palace) in the Heavenly Realm, close to where the Heavenly Emperor lived, in a place in the Three Realms and Nine Provinces that was regarded as sacred by the immortal lords, an event that only happened tens of thousands of years ago in the Three Realm and Nine Provinces needed the Heavenly Emperor’s attention.
And today, Xuantian Palace, which has not been opened for thousands of years, reopened its huge Xuantian Gate under the order of the cultivating Heavenly Emperor.
In the Immortal Realm above the Nine Continents, the silver-white Xuantian Palace floated in midair, with the crystal clear jade perfectly fitting outside the hall. The dense immortal aura covered everything 100 meters away, transforming into a complicated and mysterious magical barrier. Looking towards the Xuantian Palace that stood majestically in the Heavenly Realm, it seemed as solemn and eternal as if the spirits of heaven and earth had gathered there.
“Your Highness, don’t be worried. His Majesty will not punish Lord Zi Yuan severely. No matter what, Lord Zi Yuan saved Crown Prince Highness’s life.” A palace maid in a green gown looked carefully at the cold eyebrows of a woman in purple robes and whispered.
“Zi Yuan just has a small friendship with my older brother. I don’t have any history with him, so there’s nothing to worry about.” Jing Zhao didn’t look back and heard the comforting voice of the maidservant behind her, and coldly snorted, with impatience in her words.
How could a mere immortal take up her thoughts? It had already been two months since the scene on Kunlun Mountain. Her second older brother had already brought Zi Yuan back to the Nine Heavens Palace to be punished, but their Heavenly Father and Mother were coincidentally cultivating in retreat, so the punishment was delayed. Today, their Heavenly Father was returning to the Heavenly Palace, and opened Xuantian Palace after hearing of the incident, attracting back all the immortal lords in Liaowang Mountain who were looking for True God Bai Jue’s magical weapon…but this was only a small event, was it worth it for that person?
Only the leader of Xuantian Palace had the right to enter. If outsiders tried to trespass, they would be injured by the guardian barrier outside the palace. Even though Jing Zhao was a noble princess and was extremely doted on by the Heavenly Emperor, she didn’t dare break-in at this time to find out what was happening.
Time passed slowly, but Xuantian Palace’s big gate still did not open. Jing Zhao sat on a cloud not far away from the palace, her raised eyebrows coated with a thin layer of frost.
Su Yi, a palace maid, looked at Jing Zhao’s increasingly impatient expression, cautiously took two steps back, and stopped herself before talking.
She had been waiting by Jing Zhao’s side for thousands of years and had never seen her master, who was doted on by the Heavenly Emperor and Empress so cold and angry.
But think about this, a princess is noble and elegant, the most respected female goddess in all of the Three Realms, so it was no wonder that she couldn’t let this pass. Remembering the respectful praises of the immortals about Goddess Hou Chi who had appeared on Da’ze Mountain, Su Yi’s eyes also showed a little anger. This group of blind immortals, who in the Three Realms didn’t know that Goddess Hou Chi was a pot of medicine? There were so many people talking good about her.

She was Jing Zhao’s maidservant, so she naturally would be all for Jing Zhao, and have no good thoughts about Hou Chi.
Time passed slowly, and Jing Zhao, who was standing in front of Xuantian Palace finally lost her patience. When she was about to leave with a cold frown, a golden light passed through the center of the main hall, scattering into the air through the dense barrier. Afterward, a majestic voice sounded in the Immortal Realm.
“Lors Zi Yuan, rushed into Qingchi Palace without authorization and has lost his virtue. From now on, he has been ordered down to the lower realm. He will suffer the pain of reincarnation and will be listed in the list of immortals. I hope that the immortals will learn from this.”
The majestic voice slowly disappeared, resounding like thunder in the ears of all immortals in the Immortal Realm at the same time. The golden edict moved slowly above Xuantian Palace under the dazzling light, exuding the solemn and eternal breath of the heavens.
“Royal Father used the Edict of Respect for the Heavens!” Jing Zhao looked at the magnificent and mysterious scene in the air. Her expression changed, and her eyes flashed with unbelievable resentment and surprise.
Su Yi, who was standing by her side, also widened her eyes. She couldn’t close her mouth either, and after a moment, she returned to her senses under Jing Zhao’s increasingly cold expression.
The Edict of Respect for the Heavens was one of the Heavenly Emperor’s secret possessions that were passed down from ancient times. Once issued, even the person who issued it couldn’t change it.
The Edict of Respect for the Heavens hadn’t been used for tens of thousands of years. She didn’t expect that it would be used on Lord Zi Yuan this time. Su Yi carefully raised her head to look at Jing Zhao. Her heart trembled, and she remained silent. Even if Lord Feng Ran tried to chase down and kill Crown Prince Highness, and caused some absurd things that shocked the Three Realms, His Majesty had never used to Edict of Respect for the Heavens on her.
It was no wonder why Jing Zhao, who was standing outside, was so surprised. The most powerful and restrictive edict in the Heavenly Emperor’s possession was the Edict of Respect for the Heavens. Even with the power of the gods, it would be very difficult to break through the magical enchantment on it. For tens of thousands of years, if it wasn’t for those wicked people, the Edict of Respect for the Heavens would have never been used. Unexpectedly, after Lord Zi Yuan minorly offended Goddess Hou Chi, he was punished this severely. Even being flogged on Green Dragon Platform would have been so much better!
Never being qualified to be on the list of immortals was equal to having one’s immortal bones removed and never having anything to do with the Nine Heavens Palace anymore!
“How can she be qualified?! She…”
The sound of teeth that were almost crunching sounded in Su Yi’s ears. She panicked, and seeing Jing Zhao walking towards Xuantian Palace with a cold expression, hurriedly stopped her, “Your Highness, calm down, you can’t barge into Xuantian Palace!”
“Let go, I want to ask Royal Father, why is Zi Yuan’s crime so serious as to use the Edict of Respect for the Heavens?” Jing Zhao coldly spit out these words. She accumulated spiritual energy in her wrists and gave off a little shock, then pushed away Su Yi, preparing to leave.

Of course, Su Yi knew that Jing Zhao didn’t want Hou Chi to become arrogant in the Three Realms just because of this, so she immediately grabbed her, refusing to let go.
At this moment, the gate of Xuantian Palace slowly opened, and Immortal Lord Siming [1] and a companion walked out. They froze after seeing the situation outside, then smiled at Jing Zhao’s raised eyebrows and hurriedly left. Although most people in the palace already knew what happened, when they saw the golden edict suspended in the air, the immortals’ eyes were filled with solemnity and surprise that was not less than Jing Zhao and Su Yi.
“Jing Zhao, what nonsense are you doing!”
As soon as Jing Jian came out of the gate of Xuantian Palace, he saw Jing Zhao’s cold face. He glanced at the immortal lords who hadn’t walked far, and he couldn’t help but cover up his gentle expression with some tiredness and coughed to Jing Zhao.
In the past few months of their Heavenly Father’s retreat, his older brother had talked to him a lot about Zi Yuan’s affairs. This arrogant little sister wasn’t easy to take care of either. Now, she was putting on such an appearance in front of so many immortals, wouldn’t she make the immortals joke around saying that she is narrow-minded?
“Second Brother.” Jing Zhao’s eyes suddenly turned red when she was scolded. Seeing the anger under Jing Jian’s eyes, she whispered, “Where is First Brother?” Her first and second brothers went into Xuantian Palace together, but why did only Second Brother come out?
“Because First Brother contradicted Royal Father, he has been confined for a month by him. Don’t think about any messy thoughts, Heavenly Father will not see you for now.” Jing Jian glanced at Jing Zhao and sighed. Their First Brother was very confused. It was clear that their Royal Father was on Goddess Hou Chi’s side, but he tried to save Zi Yuan without caring at all…
A trace of shock flashed across Jing Zhao’s eyes. Her phoenix eyes slightly stared, and her expression was unwilling, “How could Heavenly Father confine First Brother? And besides, Zi Yuan hasn’t made a huge crime, and he has also saved First Brother’s life, how could Royal Father drive him out of the Immortal Realm…”
“Jing Zhao, shut up.” Jing Jian heard Jing Zhao’s suddenly uplifting voice and glanced at Xuantian Palace before turning around and saying, “Zi Yuan offended Goddess Hou Chi and deserves it. Him saving First Brother is a private matter, but it is difficult for the Three Realms to tolerate him offending a god. Don’t mention this matter in the future. As for First Brother, Royal Father has only punished him a little. Everything will be fine in a few days when Royal Father isn’t as angry.”
It wasn’t that Jing Jian didn’t have Jing Zhao’s doubts. He also didn’t expect that his Royal Father would use the Edict of Respect For the Heavens for Hou Chi! It was only that…the event that happened tens of thousands of years ago was not something they could intervene in.
“Goddess Hou Chi? Second Brother, it’s fine if she is someone else. She is just useless. How could you call her a goddess without any complaints? She is not worthy at all!”
The resentment in Jing Zhao’s expression finally all broke out after Jing Jian called Hou Chi a goddess. She could feel that this goddess call was of sincere admiration, but how could she and her two brothers bow down to Hou Chi?
Even if all the immortals in the Three Realms honored Hou Chi, the brothers and sister should not!
“Jing Zhao!” Jing Jian rubbed his forehead. He saw Jing Zhao’s red eyes and finally couldn’t bear to scold her anymore. He only patted her on the shoulder and said meaningfully, “No matter what, she is a goddess recognized by the Three Realms. Royal Father just wants to make it up to her. And besides, Goddess Hou Chi isn’t as weak as she was before in the rumors. In the future, if you encounter…just don’t be arrogant.”
“I don’t need you to tell me. Now, everyone in the Three Realms is saying that Goddess Hou Chi’s spiritual powers are profound and she is very elegant. I am just a high lord, so I don’t dare compete with her. Besides, if she retracts back into Qingchi Palace, it’ll be hard to see her even if I wanted to. I just don’t know, with Goddess Hou Chi being so extraordinary, why she hasn’t appeared on the Qingtian Pillar yet? Don’t mention the god section, her name isn’t even under the high lord section.”
With her words and sentences filled with Goddess Hou Chi, Jing Zhao’s expression had a little mockery. She said this under Jing Jian’s dumbfounded expression, then turned around to leave. She took a few steps and finally couldn’t hold it in, and slightly turned her head, saying, “Heavenly Father is now standing up for her and is still unwilling to see me. After Heavenly Mother comes out of retreat, I will naturally go seek justice for First Brother.”
The arrogant voice was like the one before. Jing Jian gave a wry smile and saw Jing Zhao leave with a recovered complexion. For a moment, he didn’t know if he should be happy or angry.
Sigh, he hadn’t heard of any news concerning Goddess Hou Chi for months. According to the personality she had before, she might have really gone back to Qingchi Palace. If this was the case, a lot of trouble would be saved.
Forget it, he shouldn’t worry about these trivial matters. Rather than wasting these few days, it would be better to go to Liaowang Mountain. Jing Jian looked at Xuantian Palace, sighed, and suddenly disappeared.
At the same time, when the Immortal Realm was shocked by the Heavenly Emperor’s decree using the Edict of Respect for the Heavens, the mysterious force that shocked the Demon Realm also caused the Demon Realm to fall into turmoil.
In a corner of the Third Heaven, Hou Chi sat with good posture on a polished stone, with an extremely serious face. She stared at the person close by wearing a black robe, and raised her eyebrows, “Qing Mu, what exactly is your origin?”
