《Ancient God (Ancient Love Poetry)》Chapter 9: Accident

The power used to forcefully pass through two barriers was extremely great, not to mention this kind of people going through. After standing in the Demon Realm to stop the violent demonic power that swept his way, Qing Mu let out a sigh of relief, but he felt that something wasn’t right, and lowered his head to his chest to look at the person using powers to pull him.
The unfamiliar girl was held in his arms. She was a small ball, but there was a soft and glutinous familiarity. Qing Mu held his breath and after realizing that she was the same person, he raised his handsome eyebrows.
Hou Chi, who just had a teenage girl appearance at the Qingtian Pillar was now only the size of a seven or eight year old. Although the cyan robe she wore changed along with her size, it gave off an inexplicable feeling when it was printed onto the delicate and white skin.
The girl who was being held perhaps was also a little surprised. She lowered her head to look at her small arms and legs, muttering “what’s going on”, and she jumped out of Qing Mu’s hands.
The small and soft body jumped out of his arms and even kicked hard on the ground twice before calming down, which was quite different from the indifferent and calm appearance just then.
Qing Mu rubbed his nose, interested in this sudden matter. Looking at the girl who was bowing her head with great interest, the indifferent expression that hadn’t changed when Hou Chi changed her size froze.
With Hou Chi’s ordinary appearance, Qing Mu did not think that her appearance when she transformed into a child would be like this. Although her round face was childish, it still held some elegance. Her dark eyes blinked pitch-black light, flowing like a whirlpool, which could suck the entire soul of the person staring. Her eyebrows were slightly constricted, giving off a deep feeling of bitterness. She had the appearance of a seven or eight-year-old, but there was a feeling of transcendence of the Three Realms when she moved.
But it was only for a moment. The familiar aura when Hou Chi was standing in front of the Qingtian Pillar slowly disappeared, leaving only a face of a child that could move the Three Realms with the extraordinary appearance.
Qing Mu had never been swayed in the past few thousand years, but this time, he was shocked by the huge difference. No wonder the Three Realms said that Goddess Hou Chi was extraordinary…wait, that’s not right…Qing Mu squinted his eyes, carefully analyzing the girl standing on the ground with her head up in astonishment.
Although an immortal can transform themselves at will, their adult appearances were decided during their young years. Hou Chi’s change was because her spiritual powers were low, and she could not gather enough spiritual power to transform in the Demon Realm, which was why she had changed into the appearance that would use up the least amount of power. But if Hou Chi had this appearance when she was young, why would her adult appearance be so ordinary?
Could it be that person had purposely changed her appearance? But if her appearance was changed, it would mean that her foundation for cultivating her spiritual powers was sealed off. Who would do this?
Qing Mu rubbed her nose suspiciously. This was the first time that he had some interest and curiosity for Goddess Hou Chi, who he didn’t really care about. She was the daughter of God Gu Jun and lived in Qingchi Palace, so who would dare do such a thing?

Hou Chi lowered her head, looking left and right, also realizing that this was the awkwardness brought on by her weak spiritual powers. She grunted and looked at Qing Mu, and said after clearing her throat, “It seems like the amount of demonic aura in the Demon Realm has increased. Lord Qing Mu, I can only walk in the Demon Realm in this form. I’m sorry for being so troublesome.”
She had an arrogant look with untimely embarrassment on her face. Her voice was clear and crisp but had the softness of a child. Her dark eyes blinked cutely. Qing Mu lowered his head to look at her, a strange smile flashing under his eyes. He nodded with raised eyebrows.
Hou Chi now was much more interesting than her cold appearance before. It seemed like the power of the seal gave her a strange change as she changed into a younger child.
“Hm, why isn’t Feng Ran here yet?” Due to the small situation caused by her sudden decrease in size, the two both realized that they hadn’t seen Feng Ran for a long time.
Qing Mu looked towards the unpredictable Demon Realm barrier, saying after a moment of deep thought, “It’s also dangerous to forcibly travel through the barrier, and they often do not appear in the same place. It seems like Lord Feng Ran is not in the same place that we are in.”
Hou Chi nodded her head, looked at the barrier, and sighed, “If this is the case, we should go to the Imperial City first. Feng Ran knows that we’re going to look for the Demon Emperor, so she should be waiting for us in the Imperial City.”
“Sounds good.” Qing Mu condensed the immortal powers encircling his body, and slowly changed his breathing pattern. After a while, an extraordinarily cold and heavy aura wrapped around him, and unexpectedly, he created a sense of nothingness.
Hou Chi raised her eyebrows, her two small arms hugging her torso. She was looking at Qing Mu with her head raised without sound.
Sigh, this height was really making things hard for her!
She had clearly the appearance of a seven or eight year old, but her eyes were so cold and clear. As soon as he lowered his head, Qing Mu could see Hou Chi’s nondescript expression. It was so funny that he snorted. He walked forward and took Hou Chi’s hands off her chest, setting them beside her waist. He then patted her head, his voice carrying some helplessness, “Although the Demon and Immortal Realms have not fought in many years, immortal and demon lords can compete with each other at will. I can help get rid of many troubles. After we find the Demon Emperor, there might be a big battle.”
Seeing Hou Chi nod her head, Qing Mu turned around to leave. After taking two steps, he seemed as if he had forgotten something. He turned around to see the young child behind him staggering in the strong demon aura. He sighed and walked back with his arm stretched out to her, “Here, sit down.”
After all, Hou Chi had a child’s appearance. With someone who normally liked to calculate one’s age in the Immortal Realm, Qing Mu looked at Hou Chi, and couldn’t help but see her as the younger generation.
Looking at the silent Hou Chi, the corners of his lips curled up but made no sound. This young immortal lord did not have the powers of a god, but her temper was not small. She didn’t even know that she had to lower her head to suppress the power. She needed to know that the demons were violent and would not be kind to any immortal. If they encountered one, nothing good would happen.

Hou Chi’s solemn face sank. Seeing Qing Mu’s face full of helplessness, she didn’t say much. She grabbed his sleeve and jumped onto his right hand, hugging his neck and sitting with her finger pointing forward like a heroic guide, “Let’s go.”
Standing up and walking into the Demon Realm, Qing Mu steadily held the little one on his arm, not discovering that his patience was much better than normal.
“Sit well, the Imperial City isn’t far away.”
“Lord Qing Mu, I am a god. I often sit on the clouds that Feng Ran drives.”
Qing Mu’s eyebrows frowned slightly. He didn’t make a sound, but he didn’t expect that the little ball on his arm would start talking naggingly.
“When we encounter the Demon Emperor, you don’t need to worry. I have a few of Father’s treasures, so I could probably use one or two…”
“When Feng Ran arrives at the Imperial City, you two should join hands. The Demon Emperor won’t be able to do anything…”
“Hey, you’re riding pretty steadily. Lower, the demonic aura up there is too heavy…”
Hearing the soft and tender voice close to his ear, Qing Mu’s hands shook. Without looking at her, he sped up and continued flying forward. Although he was expressionless, his level of arrogance slowly decreased. He slightly lowered his head, looking at the round bun on Hou Chi’s head and her slightly raised lips. He rubbed his nose with a fading smile, his cold eyes showing a warm smile.
He dared to guarantee that Hou Chi, who was an unknown thousands of years old, did not just change in appearance…this child personality was really hard for someone to control, and even he could not decline this.
Forget it, as long as he could understand his origin, these hardships are all worth it…He was comforting himself in this way as he cautiously flew towards the forest.
After half a day, in the huge mysterious forest surrounding the Demon Realm, the dark-faced Hou Chi was staring at the turquoise clothed silhouette with her large eyes, her hands behind her as she made no sound. Her pair of round eyes seemed to be ignited with a small angry flame.
It seemed like he was being stared at rather deeply. Qing Mu took a few deep breaths, and after turning around a few times, he walked back awkwardly, looking at the dark complexion of the girl whose weight hadn’t reached his waist, saying, “I have come to the Demon Realm over a thousand years ago. I didn’t expect that the Demon Emperor would completely change the magical formation in the forest. This road…is a little unfamiliar.”
Hou Chi squeezed her clenched hands, and slowly spit out the stale air inside her chest, saying with her small face, “Lord Qing Mu, with your abilities, don’t mention this small formation. I’m afraid that even the most terrifying death formation won’t injure you at all. You’re just not good at doing this, this isn’t anything to be ashamed of…it seems that the rumors outside that Lord Qing Mu has powerful spiritual powers and is a rare talent in the Immortal Realm are just nonsense.”
The clear and crisp child’s voice was rather dismissive, and her eyes that had already been raised lifted slightly, like Qing Mu’s expression when he coldly complained to Hou Chi when they were in Da’ze Mountain.
Qing Mu gave a light cough, a rare hint of flushing appearing on his face. He smiled and touched Hou Chi’s bun, saying, “You’re a child, why do you hold so many grudges? I only said that your spiritual powers aren’t strong, and you remember so clearly!”
He perhaps thought that the ribbon holding up the bun was particularly smooth. Qing Mu put his hand on Hou Chi’s head, and after repeated fiddling, still didn’t want to take it away.
Hou Chi squinted her eyes, her face wrinkled. She fiercely knocked off Qing Mu’s hand, muttering uncomfortably, “Lord Qing Mu, you have crossed the line.”
Qing Mu looked at the majestic and dominating Hou Chi, froze, raised his eyebrows, and slowly showed a bit of young gentleness on his face. He walked two steps towards Hou Chi, squatted down, and took her body into his arms under her stunned eyes, then strode forward.
This time, he didn’t even bother to look in the direction and only walked forward.
“Qing Mu, what are you doing, put me down, I can walk.”
“Do you have the power to resist the strong energy in this dense forest?” The young man’s head was kept low. This time, he was so lazy that he didn’t even bother to call her ‘Goddess Hou Chi’, and only said this lightly.
Hou Chi’s struggling movements paused for a moment, then slowed down.
“Do you know the way to the Imperial City?” The young man raised his eyes, continuing to provoke.
Hou Chi stopped her little leg that was swinging in midair and grunted.
“Don’t you want to know Bo Xuan’s whereabouts from the mouth of the Demon Emperor?” The young man raised the corner of his mouth and lowered his head, his eyes burning while a flash of light flashed across his dark eyes.
In the Three Realms, the only one who could make the Demon Emperor tell the whereabouts of Bo Xuan in this situation…was him.
As soon as the sound settled, Hou Chi’s head drooped completely. She frowned silently, her two small hands placed on her small thighs without excitement. She looked strangely pitiful.
Her God Father had disappeared for thousands of years, she couldn’t go to the Nine Skies to plead to the Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress…
“Hou Chi, as long as you stay close to me, I promise that no matter what, you will get the answer you want from the Demon Emperor.”
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Qing Mu found that the younger version of Hou Chi was much more childish. As he discovered this, he hurriedly spoke softly. No matter what, the one he held in his hands was a noble god, and a very young and lively one at that, steaming with anger…
In the end, he was only a few thousand years old. If he insisted, he would barely be considered a person among the immortals.
“What do you want to do? Hou Chi raised her head vigilantly, her dark eyes suddenly widening, and her small hands forming fists.
“There are many demon lords in the Demon Realm. They are all good fighters and are very hostile to the ones of the Immortal Realm. After leaving this dense forest, if we use immortal powers to fly, we will definitely attract a crowd of demon lords, so we can only walk to the Imperial City. During this time, we must be at peace with each other, and we don’t need to call each other by our titles.”
Hou Chi nodded reluctantly. Although she didn’t like this hiding solution, she couldn’t help but admit that Qing Mu’s proposal would get rid of many troubles.
She glanced at Qing Mu suspiciously, beginning to doubt the authenticity of Feng Ran’s words about Qing Mu. So, is this considered courageous?
“Don’t look at me this way. I don’t like trouble, and it’s best to avoid them as best as possible.” Qing Mu looked at Hou Chi, who was in his hands, stroked his chin, then said with a serious face, “You only look as if you’re only at the age when you’ve just transformed, so call me ‘Master’ during this short time!”
Hou Chi suddenly raised her eyes, her expression full of absurdity. She was a noble god. Although her spiritual powers were weak, she still had learned a lot of immortal spells from God Gu Jun…
It seemed that he had guessed the reason Hou Chi had raised her eyes, because Qing Mu raised the corners of his mouth, saying to the little child in his arms, “Hou Chi, people can only lower their head when they are under the roof. Hasn’t God Gu Jun taught you…when you are willing to call me Master, I will teach you how to condense your immortal powers, what do you say?”
Hearing these uncompromising words, Hou Chi, who was calm, raised her head, her eyes flashing with eyes full of disbelief.
He could actually tell that with this body, it was hard to condense her powers, but….to have her condense her immortal powers, even her God Father was unable to do it, so how could he…
Looking at the faint smile on Qing Mu’s mouth, Hou Chi stroked her chin with her small hand and squinted suspiciously.
This Qing Mu, where did he come from
