《Ancient God (Ancient Love Poetry)》Chapter 8: North Sea Lord Qing Mu

With a dark face, Feng Ran looked at Hou Chi, who was standing in the empty air and shaking her thin arms and legs sarcastically. She grunted but didn't make a sound, eventually becoming interested in the person who had come and immediately stared forward with widened eyes.
Outside the waist-high weeds stood a light blue-clothed immortal. He seemed to be taken aback seeing the two of them standing behind the fence, and also froze. He then quickened his steps and walked forward with some surprise and understanding, saying lightly, "I was thinking about who had entered Liao Wang Mountain. So it's Lord Feng Ran..."
The warm and low voice caused Hou Chi to freeze for a moment, and also extinguished the coldness from his face. She raised her eyes to look at the young man in front of the bamboo house, squinting her eyes, and couldn't help but sigh. This person had a strong natural temperature as well as strong immortal powers surrounding him, and there was a mysterious and distant aura in his dark-colored eyes. If one talked about appearance and elegance, he would not lose to Jing Jian, the Heavenly Emperor's son.
Staring at the pair of dark eyes, a somewhat familiar feeling suddenly appeared inside Hou Chi. She perhaps has seen this person before, but...these few thousand years, she had never left Qingchi Palace.
Feng Ran was also shocked by the person's appearance and elegance, and seeing that he knew her identity, she replied, "How do you know..."
"Now, it is known throughout the Three Realms that Lord Feng Ran and Goddess Hou Chi have left Qingchi Palace. Liao Wang Mountain has a strong aura with formations everywhere, so even if other people wanted to enter, they wouldn't be able to."
"You just like to compliment yourself." She obviously was pleased by the cold words. Feng Ran squinted her eyes and smiled, gave Hou Chi a satisfied expression, then bowed towards the person, "Your immortal powers are not weaker than mine. You are..." If this person was a subordinate of the Heavenly Emperor, then it would be a pity.
"Qing Mu."
Hearing this, Feng Ran froze, and a trace of surprise appeared under her eyes. She did not think that the most famous figure in the Three Realms these past thousand years would be so handsome. The rumors were indeed true.
Lord Qing Mu was the only high lord who had passed the Tribulation these past few thousand years. No one knew of his origin but only knew that on the second day after his name was imprinted onto the Qingtian Pillar, he had traveled across the North Sea alone and killed the hydra that lived there. This creature lived in groups and was extremely cruel, and even the North Sea Dragon King did not dare offend the nest. But he did not think that such a cruel creature would die in that person's hands. When the news spread, the entire Three Realms was shocked.
And because of this, the heavenly Emperor's edict did not reach Qing Mu. Since the beginning of ancient realms, the Three Realms had an unwritten rule. Generally, when an immortal obtains the power of a high lord, the Heavenly Emperor should not interfere much.
This was also the reason why Feng Ran dared to wander outside and cause trouble for Zi Yuan even when God Gu Jun had disappeared. That year when she obtained her high lord status, the Heavenly Emperor had released an order to kill her, and now, unless the Heavenly Emperor killed her, there were very few people in the Three Realms who could kill her.

But at the moment when Qing Mu's name was engraved onto Qingtian Pillar, he already had his strongest high lord powers. This made Qing Mu an outlier of the Three Realms from the very start, and he had a high status. If one talked about dangerousness and mysteriousness, he was far ahead from Feng Ran back then, and even the scaled dragon Wu Heng who dared to provoke Qingchi Palace ten thousand years ago could not compare to him.
If there were people in the Three Realms who feared Feng Ran, besides the three gods, Demon Emperor and Lord Dong Hua, there was also Lord Qing Mu. She looked at the handsome immortal and suppressed the astonishment inside.
Could it be that he could come and go freely in the mountains, but...why did he come here?
Qing Mu analyzed Feng Ran for a moment. After nodding his head, he glanced at the girl in cloth clothes who had been looking at him from the very start, saying impolitely, "These past few days, the immortals of the Three Realms have all been saying that Goddess Hou Chi is divine and elegant with strong spiritual powers. I think that these rumors can't be trusted. But, it seems that Goddess is coming and going as you please in the mountain, so you must have come under the order of God Gu Jun."
Hou Chi froze. She was surprised at Lord Qing Mu's straightforwardness, and some admirance grew inside her. After all, not everyone could ignore the deterrence from the god statuses of God Gu Jun and herself. There were very few immortals who still dared to talk in this way.
"What, does Lord Qing Mu think that I am wasting this goddess position, and is very disappointed?" Hou Chi looked at Qing Mu with a smile, staring at him with interest.
"Positions are no more than objects. It doesn't matter whether you're a lord or a god, they all can't escape the orders of fate. Why does Goddess Hou Chi care so much?" Qing My replied lightly. His eyes swept across Hou Chi indifferently, stopping noticeably for a moment when his eyes met Hou Chi's stone bracelet. His expression was mixed with delight and surprise.
"What has Lord Qing Mu come to Liao Wang Mountain?" Feng Ran knew that Hou Chi definitely didn't know Qing Mu's identity, and hurriedly told her about his origin quietly, then took the topic.
Hearing this, Qing Mu visibly raised his eyebrows, saying curiously, "Three days ago, Liao Wang Mountain's spiritual power turned messy. A faint golden light hit the sky, which shocked the entire Immortal Realm. The Three Realms said that this was a sign from the magical weapon that True God Bai Jue carried, the Taicang Spear. Now, all of the immortals will be coming to Liao Wang Mountain in search of the treasure. Haven't you come because of this matter?"
The Taicang Spear appeared? This was probably the largest matter in these past few thousand years in the Three Realms. It was no wonder why the erratic Qing Mu would also come here.
Feng Ran and Hou Chi locked gazes for a moment and shook their heads. They had been hurrying to Liao Wang Mountain on the cloud these few days, so they didn't have time to hear about this.
"I have an old friend who is cultivating here. I have come to find him today. If Lord Qing Mu is here for the Taicang Spear, please go ahead." Hou Chi was thinking about the demon aura-filled fan in the bamboo house and said this casually.

"No rush. Because of the overflow of the spiritual energy, it will take at least three months for the Taicang Spear to appear. I have something to ask Goddess, so I hope that you will resolve my doubts." Qing Mu waved his hand casually, and suddenly, he turned to Hou Chi.
"What's the matter?" Hou Chi felt an analysis with an unknown meaning rest on herself and was a little displeased. When she met Qing Mu just then, he was not intimidated by her identity but was more interested in Feng Ran, who had higher spiritual powers. Now, why would he suddenly...
"Where did Goddess get the stone bracelet on your wrist?" Qing Mu put his gaze on Hou Chi's wrist and asked with a deep voice.
"A friend gave it to me when I was young. I don't know about its origin." Seeing Qing Mu's flash of disappointment, Hou Chi added a sentence, "The person I am looking for in Liao Wang Mountain is him."
As expected, after hearing this, Qing Mu's eyes brightened. His expression was more eager than when he was talking about the Taicang Spear, "Is Goddess's friend still here?"
Hou Chi shrugged and pointed behind him, "You've seen it. It seems that no one has lived here for at least a few thousand years. I don't know where he has gone either. But...why is Lord Qing Mu so interested in the origin of this stone bracelet?"
"I am looking for the person who left this stone bracelet. He could perhaps help me resolve my doubts." He replied lightly. Qing Mu rubbed his eyebrow and looked at Hou Chi, "Is Goddess still able to find him?"
"You know Bo Xuan?" Hou Chi raised her eyebrows. After hearing this, Feng Ran said hurriedly, "That would be impossible. Bo Xuan has not been seen for eight thousand years. Lord Qing Mu is only a few thousand years old."
If this was the case, Qing Mu was one of the youngest in the immortals. Even Feng Ran was almost ten thousand years older than him, not to mention Hou Chi, who had stayed in the egg for such a long time.
Seeing suspicion in the two's eyes, Qing Mu said, "I also have this stone bracelet." He rolled up his long sleeve, and there was a string of stones hanging on his wrist. "Something once told me that as long as I could find the owner of this stone bracelet, I will be able to resolve my doubts."
The dark green bracelet glowed a dark color and was mysterious and distant. Besides the slight difference in the ancient characters engraved on it, it seemed to be the same as Hou Chi's bracelet.
Feng Ran's eyes moved left and right. Seeing the similar bracelets on the two people's wrists, coughed two times. If people didn't know the situation, 80% would think that they were tokens of love...
Hou Chi also froze. She sighed. Why is this Bo Xuan saying so many promises that he can't fulfill? He left a large question and left without any clues. Thinking about the demon aura-filled fan, a flash of worry crossed Hou Chi's eyes.
Bo Xuan was never a person who didn't keep his promises.
"I don't know how to find him, but..."
Hou Chi walked into the bamboo house. When she came out, she was holding a fan. As soon as he saw the fan, Qing Mu frowned, saying, "There is a demon aura on it. Could this person's disappearance have something to do with the fan?"
Hou Chi glanced at him approvingly, nodded her head, and handed the fan to him, "Yes. This place is where he cultivated. Now, only this fan is left, so it should have something to do with his disappearance. Are you able to find the mark on the fan and find the person who left this demon aura?"
Qing Mu took the fan, and analyzed it carefully, saying quietly, "This fan has the mark of the Demon Emperor's family. He pointed to the white tiger with an evil engraving on the back of the fan, and said to Hou Chi, "The Demon Emperor is of the White Tiger Clan. Normal demon clans do not dare to engrave this. As long as we go to the Demon Realm to ask, we will be able to know what happened."
Ask? How? Although the Demon Emperor was not as powerful as the gods, he had ruled the Demon Realm for many years, and his spiritual power was unfathomable. Would they run up to his door to ask?
"Lord Qing Mu, you want to..." Feng Ran stroked her chin, a flame lighting up inside her eyes. She hadn't moved her muscles in a long time.
"Go to Xuanjing Palace in the Demon Realm. The Demon Emperor will definitely know. If you guys want to know what happened, you can come as well." Qing Mu casually said a few sentences of invitation and turned around to leave. From the very start, besides seeing the stone bracelet on Hou Chi's bracelet and feeling a little surprised, he was indifferent and quiet.
Hou Chi raised her eyebrows and went behind him. Hearing this, Feng Ran's eyes squinted cheerfully, and she followed with the magic bubble around her. After walking a few steps, she shook her head, feeling as if there was something she had forgotten to tell Hou Chi.
Forget it, stop thinking, she'll tell her when she remembers.
The three of them went on a cloud. On the way, they saw quite a few immortals rushing towards Liao Wang Mountain, who were probably talking about Goddess Hou Chi, who had appeared on Da'ze Mountain, and the Taicang Spear that had appeared in the world. The three of them were hidden under Qing Mu's magic bubble, so no one discovered their tracks.
Only after a few days, Feng Ran was amazed at Qing Mu. Hou Chi still had a god identity, but this guy did not show an overload of respect because of this, and rather continuously sneered at Hou Chi's weak spiritual powers and bad methods. Hou Chi sat behind the two of them but didn't seem to want to argue. Feng Ran watched from the side happily and intently.
When they arrived at the Qingtian Pillar that divided the Immortal and Demon Realms, dawn was slowly revealed. Feng Ran had a pale expression, but the stubborn Hou Chi was a little impatient. She knew that Hou Chi always showed her strongest side in front of outsiders, so even if she could not hold on any further, she would not make a sound. After a pause, she was about to say something but heard Qing Mu's light voice.
"We'll go to the Demon Realm after resting for an hour."
Feng Ran quietly sighed in relief and glanced at Qing Mu. Seeing that a lot of the alienation on his face had faded away, she was relieved.
If they were going to the Demon Realm, her power alone was not enough to fully protect Hou Chi, but with Qing Mu's power, they still had some support if they had to face the Demon Emperor.
"So this is the Qingtian Pillar?"
Hearing a slightly disappointed voice behind him, Qing Mu turned around and looked at Hou Chi to discover that she had changed back to her teenage girl appearance with none of the aurae she had before, and he couldn't help but feel that it was sudden.
What was happening? Could it be that his eyes weren't working properly?
"Yes, this is the Qingtian Pillar. Legends say that this was transformed from the Ancestral God Qingtian after the gods had disappeared in the Tribulation of Chaos. It was the pillar of the Three Realms, and all the immortals and demons who had been through the Nine Sky Thunder Tribulation would have their name appear on there..." Feng Ran pointed at the name etched on the Qingtian Pillar and suddenly stopped talking, looking at Hou Chi awkwardly.
The Qingtian Pillar was divided into three sections. The map of the Nine Provinces and Eight Lands was etched on the bottom. The names of the immortal and demon deities were etched on the top section with an eye-catching and gorgeous silver-white color.
The middle section was engraved with the famous Cave Sky Hua Mansion of the Three Realms, the Heavenly Palace of the Heavenly Realm with the majestic five-clawed coiled dragon and golden phoenix, and Qingchi Palace of the Qilian Mountains with a distant purple-red dragon. There was only a majestic white tiger for the Xuanjing Palace of the Demon Realm on the corner...This was obviously the place for listing the three high gods. As for the Demon Emperor, although he did not have the identity of a god, he was still listed in the middle of the Qingtian Pillar because he held up a realm.
It was said that the Qingtian Pillar was the most spiritual object in the Three Realms, and was the most accurate. For the past 60,000 years, although Hou Chi got her god position from God Gu Jun, she had never been accepted by the immortals, so because of this, the Qingtian Pillar that connected the Immortal and Demon Realms did not have a spot for Hou Chi.
Feng Ran looked at the names of the few princes and princess under the Heavenly Emperor on the Qingtian Pillar, her expression darkening. She silently sighed.
Why did they have to talk about this now?
"What is that place?" Hou Chi's expression did not change at all because of Feng Ran's hesitation, but she instead pointed to the highest part of the Qingtian Pillar with interest.
When Qing Mu saw that she had a calm appearance, a streak of admirance appeared under his eyes, and some of the coldness between his brow disappeared. Before talking about how powerful Hou Chi's spiritual powers were, this open-mindedness was enough to be better than many of the immortal etched up there.
Hou Chi was pointing to a black area with a deep ink color on it. The whole part was black and had a heavy feeling of pressure on the sky. It was the highest part of the Qingtian Pillar.
"I don't know either. Since the Tribulation of Chaos and the Qingtian Pillar appeared, that part had always been blank. No one knows what that part represents." Feng Ran shook her head.
But Qing Mu, who was looking at the top part with a heavy gaze did not say anything.
Hou Chi rubbed her shoulders and brought back their attention, saying, "It's getting late, we should get going to the Demon Realm."
"The Demon Realm has a strange enchantment and its destructive power is very strong. Your spiritual powers are too weak, so it's best for you to follow me." Seeing that Hou Chi was about to leave after turning around, Qing Mu also looked back to inform her.
For some unknown reason, he didn't want Hou Chi to stay at the Qingchi Pillar for too long and made his decision quickly.
Feng Ran looked at Hou Chi, who had already been dragged to Qing Mu's side, and could only curl her lips, "That's true. Hou Chi has weak spiritual powers. I still don't know what the consequences will be if we just rashly break into the barrier of the Demon Realm. It's best to follow you there..."
Before Feng Ran could finish her words and Hou Chi was still staring at the Qingtian Pillar, Qing Mu frowned and dragged her directly to the barrier of the Demon Realm.
Feng Ran saw that the two were going towards the barrier, grunted, and rubbed her nose. She did her warm-up exercises to get ready to barge into the Demon Realm's barrier, and she suddenly froze when her foot was raised halfway in the air, an expression of unknown meaning appearing.
She finally remembered the words she had forgotten to tell Hou Chi–It was rumored in the Three Realms that Princess Jing Zhao of the Heavenly Realm had been very self-esteemed for the past ten thousand years and had never been overly respectful to any immortal deity, with the exception of her favorance towards this cold and hard Lord Qing Mu.
If this rumor was heard by the ignorant Qingchi Palace, then it was enough to prove how deep this reverence was.
Feng Ran looked at the two people who had disappeared into the barrier, blinked without tears, and rushed towards the barrier.
A quarter of an hour later, she looked at the empty space without even a bird a hundred meters away from the misty barrier of the Demon Realm. Only then did she remember the enchantment to barge into the barrier wasn't always in the same place. After a long silence, she suddenly narrowed her eyes and laughed.
Hou Chi, this is the doing of the Heavens. You need to seize the opportunity...you perhaps don't need to go to the Nine Heavens to avenge for grievances God Gu Jun suffered back then!
