《Ancient God (Ancient Love Poetry)》Chapter 7: Disappearance

Three days later, when the panting Feng Ran arrived at the foot of Liao Wang Mountain on a cloud, the excitement and gratitude in her eyes gave the entire mountain a sense of resilience. Hou Chi was sitting cross-legged and looking at her, showing uncovered contempt.
“Feng Ran, did you receive your high lord powers on a whimp? It’s only Liao Wang Mountain, why are you…” Hou Chi stretched out her arm and gestured towards Feng Ran from head to toe, saying with some disbelief, “Is it not exciting enough? Why aren’t we going up the mountain, why did we stop?”
Looking at Hou Chi who was lazily sitting on the cloud, Feng Ran’s red face was filled with grief and anger. She squatted down and said with gritted teeth, “I don’t know who is always ordering me around like a mule, and, Hou Chi, don’t tell me that you haven’t learned about this! Have you not even heard about Liao Wang Mountain?”
“I have!” Hou Chi poked Feng Ran, and pushed her close face away, saying leisurely, “Bo Xuan’s place for cultivation!”
After being poked and pushed by an unceremonious hand, Feng Ran’s face darkened. She stared at Hou Chi and simply sat down with crossed legs.
“Hou Chi, I see that God Gu Jun is too easy-going with you. It’s fine if you don’t leave Qingchi Palace. Now that you have left Qingchi Palace, then it equals you entering the Three Realms, how are you…”
“Feng Ran.” Hou Chi interrupted Feng Ran’s chattering and smiled, a hint of arrogance appearing under her eyes, “Do you think that my God father, the Heavenly Emperor, and the Heavenly Empress need to know the origins of every place in the Three Realms, the origins of every immortal?”
“Of course they don’t need to, they…” Feng Ran replied very naturally, then stopped. She sighed as she looked at Hou Chi, “Hou Chi, they are gods.”
“Feng Ran, I’m one as well. No matter how weak my spiritual power is, or how many people in the Three Realms disdain me, I am still a god. I got this title after my God father gave my Heavenly Empress up on Kunlun Mountain. That’s the way it is and is also the reason why I came to Liao Wang Mountain today.”
Tens of thousands of years ago, there was a famous wedding on Kunlun Mountain. Using his god privileges, God Gu Jun obtained Hou Chi’s god identity from the immortals of the Three Realms, but in reality, it was only a trade.
God Gu Jun did not pursue the hatred towards the Heavenly Emperor for stealing his wife, and also let go of the grievances that came with the Heavenly Empress’s betrayal, only so Hou Chi, who had an unknown fate, could have a strong position in the Three Realms–although this position was a little pessimistic.
Feng Ran had always thought that Hou Chi had never practiced cultivation much since she was young, having nothing to compete for. But she did not think that the stubbornness in her bones was stronger than anyone.
These tens of thousands of years, she only heard that Princess Jing Zhao and Hou Chi were like strangers and would not talk about each other much. Now, it seemed like Hou Chi did mind the topic.

She wanted to personally seek justice for God Gu Jun, which was why she wanted to know about the events in the past and would try to improve her spiritual powers to come to Liao Wang Mountain to find Bo Xuan…
Feng Ran analyzed Hou Chi carefully. Seeing the faint determination in her ink-colored eyes, she suddenly started laughing and stretched out her hand to flick the curly hair that fell down Hou Chi’s shoulders, saying, “Ah, you, fine. I’ll tell you about the grievances on Liao Wang Mountain…”
It was only a few sentences, so the two did not discuss deeply, but Feng Ran did not have the starting excitement, and her expression was more solemn.
Immortal cultivators had countless tribulations. She had taken shelter in Qingchi Palace for ten thousand years, so she should do something.
“In ancient times, Liao Wang Mountain was the cultivation grounds for True God Bai Jue, one of the four true gods. After the Tribulation of Chaos, the four true gods disappeared from the Three Realms, and no one lived here. Legends say that True God Bai Jue’s weapon that he always took with him was also hidden in Liao Wang Mountain, so many immortals would come to search for it. But the spiritual powers that stretched thousands of miles around were very dense with a strong formation, and some high lord that came to look even said that there were heavenly beasts from ancient times guarding the mountain. No one could fly to the peak of the mountain on a cloud, and it’s even extremely difficult to get close to Liao Wang Mountain, so the immortals who come here travel on foot.”
Feng Ran scattered the clouds. She was supported by Hou Chi as she stood at the foot of the mountain, and wrapped both of them up with her powers, then smacked her lips with some difficulty.
Hou Chi looked at Feng Ran, who had gathered her immortal powers to fight against the mountain’s spiritual power as soon as they had gotten close to the mountain. She could not help but be a little surprised. The true gods of ancient times were truly scary. The spiritual power that they left behind was already enough to make Feng Ran struggle. Even if one was not able to conquer the Three Realms if they obtained True God Bai Jue’s immortal weapon, their power would at least be indistinguishable from a god, so it was no wonder why it was coveted by so many immortals.
It seemed that although the immortals cultivated Taoism, they could not ignore the desire for power.
“This Liao Wang Mountain is so scary. Why would Bo Xuan choose this place to cultivate?” Hou Chi glanced at the mountain, the immortal power obscuring her view, saying to Feng Ran as she walked forward.
“I don’t know either. God Gu Jun only said that Lord Bo Xuan is here. You’ll have to ask him about the rest. But Bo Xuan’s powers are stronger than mine. I don’t find it weird that he can cultivate here, but…”
“But what?” Seeing Feng Ran’s hesitation to speak, Hou Chi turned around to look at Feng Ran without blinking.
“Besides the people of Qingchi Palace, there seem to be very few immortals who know Bo Xuan. He doesn’t even exist in the ranks of the immortal and demon deities.”

Feng Ran retracted her power and walked forward after taking Hou Chi’s hand. After hearing this, Hou Chi raised her eyebrows and did not ask any more questions.
The high lords of the Immortal Realm and demon deities of the Demon Realm were determined by tribulations. Anyone who passed the Nine-Sky Thunder Tribulation would automatically appear on the Qingtian Pillar (SkyReach Pillar) that the Immortal and Demon Realms shared, and it had never left out a single person after ancient times.
Since Feng Ran had said that Bo Xuan had stronger powers than her, then why was this not known by the Three Realms, and why did he not appear on the Qingtian Pillar?
Unless…Bo Xuan is just like the current gods. After all, he was formed by a magical beast from ancient times.
The mountain road became more rugged, and Feng Ran’s face gradually paled. Hou Chi stopped walking and pulled on Feng Ran’s sleeve, “Feng Ran, you just said that there are high lords who have seen magical beasts come out of Liao Wang Mountain. Then…did they say what magical beast it was?”
“No, they didn’t. Hou Chi, do you think that it is possible that Lord Bo Xuan was formed from an ancient magical beast? “ Feng Ran frowned with a little disbelief.
It wasn’t that she had never thought about this possibility, but if he was a magical beast like the Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress, how would he be willing to bow down to Qingchi Palace and hide under God Gu Jun? And besides, how would the Heavenly Emperor allow such an unpredictable person to exist in the Three Realms?
“Forget it, we’ll know when we meet him.”
Hou Chi scratched her head in distress, forgetting for a moment that the place they were standing on was supported by Feng Ran’s powers, and took a large step forward. Feng Ran’s expression suddenly changed and she immediately stretched out her hand to pull her, but she was pushed back into the bubble by the powerful spiritual power. In the bubble, everything outside was blurry. After regaining her senses, Feng Ran looked outside. Seeing the scene outside, the worry under her eyes instantly turned into disbelief. Her pair of phoenix eyes were wide open, and the roundness of them was quite funny.
Outside the magical bubble, Hou Chi stood unharmed in the empty air with the disordered spiritual power. She was vigorously moving her legs and feet, stretching left and right as she looked at Feng Ran innocently, saying suspiciously, “Feng Ran, are you sure this is a dangerous place in the Three Realms? Don’t lie to me.”
As she talked, she stretched her hand into the magical bubble to probe.
Feng Ran looked at the face outside that deserved a beating. It took a while to choke out a sentence, “Hou Chi, do you really have no memories of this place?”
“No.” Hou Chi said the word clearly with squinted eyes and walked forward. “It seems that it really is nice to be a god. Even the spiritual power on the mountain knows to not block your path. You can follow me, I’ll lead the way.”
Feng Ran looked at the jumpy silhouette in front of her, then reduced the magical bubble into half the size and hurriedly followed.
Hou Chi seemed to have changed quite a bit, but her mind seemed to have regressed…hey, this isn’t right. Feng scratched her head, thinking of Hou Chi’s growth so far, saying silently, “It should be normal. With this personality, she seems like a normal young immortal deity.”
The two moved arduously through the spiritual power-filled mountain but missed the flash the black stone bracelet on Hou Chi’s bracelet gave off.
Half a day later, as the sun was almost setting, Hou Chi looked at the small bamboo house deep in the mountain, and she and Feng Ran looked at each other.
Following God Gu Jun’s orders, after careful identification, the two could not help but admit that this place was the cultivating ground for Lord Bo Xuan.
As far as they could see, there was only a lone bamboo house standing in the front, surrounded on all four sides by waist-high weeds. The fence behind was faintly visible behind the weeds, and standing outside the fence, the heavy aura inside could make one panic.
Hou Chi walked forward. After touching the weathered-down railings outside the bamboo house, she turned to Feng Ran and said, “No one has lived here for at least a few thousand years.”
Feng Ran nodded her head and cautiously stretched out her hand to quickly use her powers to probe around. Her complexion was serious, “You’re right. I estimate at least seven or eight thousand years.”
Seven or eight thousand years also meant that Bo Xuan had not come to Liao Wang Mountain after leaving Qingchi Palace. The aura here was rotten, and after the long eight thousand years, even with Feng Ran’s power, it would be impossible to trace Bo Xuan’s whereabouts.
Feng Ran frowned and sniffed around the magical bubble, then opened the door of the bamboo house and walked in. She picked up the fan on the table and analyzed it, then said to Hou Chi after a moment, “Hou Chi, I’m afraid something bad has happened to Bo Xuan.”
“What did you say?” Hou Chi was shocked after hearing this and hurriedly walked in, “Feng Ran, what did you discover?”
“Although it has been a long time, there is still a faint demon aura on this fan. I’m thinking that Bo Xuan might have gone to the Demon Realm…”
With a ‘knock’, there was an abrupt sound of a sword slicing through the air. Hearing the clear sword sound outside, both of their expressions changed and they hurriedly walked outside.
Under the glow of the golden sky, a young man came out of the light. He was dressed in blue clothing, his face blurred, but…in this spiritual power-filled Liao Wang Mountain, he only seemed to be taking a leisure walk. He was very indifferent and elegant.
With a darkened face, Hou Chi turned around to face Feng Ran, who had wrapped her around with her powers and said impolitely with puckered lips, “Lord Feng Ran, look, this is the ancient portal you talked about. This high lord is so pitiful.”

The sheer vastness of the planes of reality meant that if a combination of laws is stable enough, then it probably exists. Join this journey of his new story in finding out the answers and secrets of this world. I like this Genre to put it bluntly but I've always found that illogical 'Science' and flawed laws of the world, typical in these stories. So, I've decided to fix that. I have tried my best to make weirdness make sense in this World filled with Magic. Short of simulating them to verify, the laws of this new world should make some reasonable sense and will be consistent (As much as I humanely can keep it that way). This might mean my story might vary in it's progression speed but as a compensation, I promise to have a lot more sensible Cliffhangers if I must put them in. Also, I'm not a big fan of over using vocabulary when telling a story. So, My Language will be very unsophisticated. Hope that's not a putoff. So, Enjoy your reading!
