《Ancient God (Ancient Love Poetry)》Chapter 1: Preface

Sixty thousand years ago, the Tribulation of Chaos arrived, and True God Shang Gu died in the God Realm to save the Three Realms from dissipating.
At that time, someone asked, the mortals could ask the gods all over the heavens for their blessings during catastrophic times, but if the gods are driven to despair, what could they do besides destruction?
Mortals could plead to the gods, but who could the gods plead to?
As for the Nine Continents, with this question, the vicissitudes[1] of life were not rotating, but rather waiting for another few ten thousand years.
But in the miserable and boring months and years, in the slow path of immortality, a small interlude appeared.
Sixty-three thousand years ago, in Kunlun Mountain, it was the wedding of the Heavenly Emperor.
This was a joyful day for the Nine Continents and Eight Areas. The immortals all over the heavens met to celebrate, but such a vast and mighty wedding was filled with a bit of silence and uneasiness.
And this was because the Heavenly Empress, Goddess Wu Huan, had a special identity before this.
When the Heaven and Earth first started, the Gods had lived forever, and Ancestral God Qing Tian shattered the void and created the Three Realms. At that time, the Ancestral God ruled the four true gods under his command, and it took ten thousand years for him to create the Three Realms and Nine Continents.
On the day the Three Realms were created, the Ancestral God's merits were completed and the god turned into nothingness and blended into the Three Realms. Since then, the four true gods under the Ancestral God's command– Shang Gu, Zhi Yang, Tian Qi, and Bai Jue became the masters of the Gods. Although Shang Gu was a goddess, she was the noblest because she had inherited (the power of chaos) from the Ancestral God.
The four true gods had profound powers and dominated the Three Realms. After thousands of years, the Nine Continents slowly took shape. Unexpectedly, the second race, demons, appeared in the world after a thousand years. The Tribulation of Chaos came, and the four true gods joined together to fight the catastrophe...To protect the Three Realms, the four true gods lost their immortal forms and became nothingness like the Ancestral God, and only their weapons were left, which fell into the Immortal Realm. Among the many gods that fought during the catastrophe, only three were left.
Since then, the gods disappeared, and the world of the gods (God Realm) was sealed above the Three Realms to never be opened again. The era of the ancient world ended and the Three Realms and Nine Continents entered the post-ancient period.
The three gods that survived the catastrophe were the Heavenly Emperor of the Nine Heavens, Goddess Wu Huan, and God Gu Jun of Qingchi Palace in the Qilian Mountains. The original form of the Heavenly Emperor was a five-clawed golden dragon, High Goddess Wu Huan inherited from the line of the phoenix and High God Gu Jun was an ancient scaled dragon, the three of them transformed from ancient beasts.

Such ancient and long-existed immortals from the most ancient time were worshipped by the beings of the Three Realms as gods.
God Gu Jun and Goddess Wu Huan were originally from the same clergy[2]. The two were not involved with the affairs of the world and built Qingchi Palace to hide from the world. They walked freely and had once aroused the envy of the other gods.
Thousands of years ago, the two gods gave birth to offspring. This was originally supposed to be a great joy for the Three Realms, but they didn't think that the child would be born with a minimal amount of godly aura. Almost a thousand years passed, but the child didn't even have enough power to come out and got weaker and weaker, almost dying. The fact that the child of the noblest gods in the world could be so weak unavoidably caused much surprise in people and couldn't help but touch the sensitivity of the two gods. All of the immortals didn't dare mention the little god.
Ever since the little god was born, God Gu Jun had been thinking how he could improve the little god's power, looking through the ancient books with a large egg in his arms, and it was common for him not to be in Qingchi Palace for years. It was unknown whether Goddess Wu Huan thought that the child was just too weak or that she couldn't survive, because she was very indifferent to the egg, and even was unwilling to go out with God Gu Jun, staying in Qingchi Palace alone.
To minimize Goddess Wu Huan's boredness in the palace, God Gu Jun asked his good friend, the Heavenly Emperor, to visit Qingchi Palace often in his spare time. With this, a few more thousand years passed, and when God Gu Jun, who was full of worries from the uncracked egg, came back to Qilian Mountain, he saw a deserted and silent Qingchi Palace, Goddess Wu Huan having long disappeared.
The person he married was Goddess Wu Huan.
If it was some other immortal who had done this sort of thing, it would probably be difficult to even step foot in the Three Realms. After all, it was stealing the wife of your friend, and no matter how open and strong you were, you would be a little infuriated. But the Heavenly Emperor was the ruler of the Three Realms, so even if the immortals thought that this was wrong, they had lost their arrogance and didn't dare to speak.
The grievances and hatred between these several gods were not things that the little immortals could say right or wrong about.
But now, as a group of immortals sat on the Cloud Balcony of Kunlun Mountain, their anxiety soared when the colorful auspicious clouds appeared at the peak of Kunlun Mountain.
God Gu Jun stood in the sky in a green rode, a little more majestic than the Heavenly Emperor. He had a bit more gentleness, elegance, and handsomeness.

Goddess Wu Huan's eyes were a little erratic, and many female immortals stared at her with surprise, muttering to each other.
Although they had different thoughts in their hearts, the immortals still bowed down to the ground, welcoming the noble God Gu Jun.
They also welcomed an upcoming fierce battle on Kunlun Mountain...
No one expected that High God Gu Jun would be ignorant and rational of the Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress, and after falling onto the clouds, he walked directly to Lord Ling Juan, who was in charge of the fate of the immortals, and handed the egg in his arms over to learn of its fate.
Everyone knew that God Gu Jun treasured this egg, but no one had expected that on such an important day, his prestigious arrival on Kunlun Mountain was just to have a little immortal to tell fate and to measure the dangerousness of the future.
This was a loud slap in the face to the Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress, but it didn't stop people from moving.
Goddess Wu Huan's expression changed, and she immediately was about to leave, and it was the forbearance of the Heavenly Emperor that she did not ruin the wedding.
Under the immortals' eyes that were full of disbelief, Lord Ling Juan's old body was trembling under the coercion of the three gods. He was extremely frightened. He knew of the egg's origin and did not dare to refuse, so he could only tremblingly take the egg from the hands of God Gu Jun.
Unexpectedly, this measuring took several hours. Although a hundred years was only a flash to immortals, the time seemed much more difficult to pass under this situation.
So the wedding on Kunlun Mountain was stopped halfway because of an egg, and the immortals' eyes were even more fixed on the round egg. They all hoped that Lord Ling Juan would be smarter and say a few good words. Perhaps God Gu Jun would be relieved, and the scene wouldn't be as embarrassing. After all, Kunlun Mountain was the blessed land of the Nine Heavens, and no one wanted a magical mountain that had existed since ancient times to be destroyed by the complicated entanglement of a few gods.
After the Heavenly Emperor coughed a few times, as he was not able to control it, Lord Ling Juan removed his hand from the golden egg, hesitated, and in front of the crowd of immortals with disbelief in their eyes, tremblingly said a sentence that changed the fate of the Three Realms.
"This little god...I'm afraid...has the fate of a God." Ling Juan said.
Everyone was shocked, the immortals were dumbfounded...After being born for thousands of years and not even having the power to break out of the shell, it seemed that this child was no different than a normal immortal child. Could this kind of spiritual power have the fate of a god?
Even if God Gu Jun had a lot of coercion, this Lord Ling Juan was speaking utter nonsense!
Of course, there was not a single immortal who dared to say this sentence out loud, and even the Heavenly Emperor was smart and pretended to be deaf.
The immortals thought that no matter how idle God Gu Jun was, he should know that this was just a polite remark of Lord Ling Juan. The nobleness of a god was at such a high level of importance. It was okay to listen to this, but for it to actually count...that was absolutely impossible.
But who knew, amid the shocked immortals, a burst of long laughter suddenly sounded. God Gu Jun climbed onto the colorful auspicious clouds that were moving eastward, not giving Lord Ling Juan another chance to speak at all.
"Thank you, my immortal friends, for being witnesses. From now on, my child Hou Chi will be in the position of a god, and the heavens and grounds can confirm this." Gu Jun said.
From beginning to end, God Gu Jun did not even look at the Heavenly Emperor and Heavenly Empress, who were sitting on high thrones.
All the immortals looked at each other, and such a light sentence made a scaled dragon that had not hatched out as a leader of the Three Realms. It was absurd for the child to be called a god. But it happened on such an occasion, and the person who said this sentence was God Gu Jun, so no one could say anything against it
After such a delay, God Gu Jun disappeared without a trace, and the position of god for the little god was created inexplicably.
If one talked about the most incredible event in the post-ancient world, it would be none other than this event.
In the depths of the sea of clouds, in the sky above Kunlun, a man in white was slowly carving a piece of wood and looking over the immortals as if they were ants, and did not leave until Gu Jun had established the goddess status of the egg.
From the beginning to the end, several immortal lords, including the Heavenly Emperor, had never discovered that such a person had ever appeared.
Naturally, in the following tens of thousands of years, this was the sentence that was said most often in the Three Realms.
That little Goddess Hou Chi of Qingchi Palace was really lucky and was born well.

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
