《A Man's Man (Midas x Meowscles)》~Apology~

I slowly closed the door behind me and walked across the hall to Midas' room. He had agreed to let me stay there while Luna and Kit took my old quarters. I slipped my keycard out of my pocket, and reached for the swipe passcode, when a golden hand cut in front of me. I turned my head, and Midas leaned back out from the scanner. He looked at me, and smirked.
"Not so fast now huh?" he said. I pulled him into a half hug, and opened the door the rest of the way. Midas reached down for my bg, but I stopped him.
"If you would like to attempt to lift a couple hundred pounds in weights, then you can carry the bag if you want." Midas lifted his hand back up and entered the room. I easily picked up the duffel bag and followed him.
"You're too strong," Midas muttered.
"Is that so?" I said, pushing him against the wall. He yelped from surprise at his force of impact to the hard surface. I pulled my hands away from his waists, and brushed my shoulders. "A job well done." I smirked at him. Midas rolled his eyes and went over to his bed to sit down.
I scampered over and sat down next to him. "You okay babe?" I asked, looking over at him. Midas fell backwards and spread his arms out, looking at the ceiling.
"Yeah, just stressed," I opened my mouth to speak, when Midas sat up and pressed a golden finger to his earpiece. I heard his one way conversation with Brutus on the other end.
"They're here?...no, no...send them to my office Brutus...yes. Will you show them where it is?...thank you for informing me."

"What was that all about?"
"My parents are here. Along with Redux and Jules. They're currently in my office waiting to talk to me. Uh, would you mind joining me downstairs?"
"Not in the least. C'mon, let's go."
We stood up and started down the stairs. I took Midas' hand in mine, and we intertwined our fingers together. He squeezed my hand, and looked at me, nodding. I returned his nod, and we continued down to his office.
Midas slowly pushed open the large wooden door to his office and we stepped in. "what do you people want?" Midas spoke coldly. I knew that he hated his family, but I didn't expect for him to speak like that.
"They're here to understand," Jules answered. She broke off from her parents and brother, and stepped over to Midas and I.
"Understand what?" I asked, squeezing Midas' hand tighter.
"Your relationship. You guys need to understand that Meowscles here is not a bad... living thing," she said, turning back to her parents.
"Person works for me," I clarified.
"Cool. But you three have to see that," she continued.
"I don't care if you hate me, but don't hate my decisions. Everyone on this damn island would've been dead by now if it weren't for me." Midas hissed. I took a deep breath, and spoke.
"Look, with all due respect, Midas is such a great guy, and you guys need to see that. He told me of his past, and how he was treated, and that was so unfair of how you treated him. If you would at least get to know what he's accomplished, you might see him differently. He helped the whole island with his device. Sure, there was a flood after, but no one here has seen the storm in a while. And half of Shadow's army was killed in that explosion. He single handedly helped us all out by planning this. And all of his agents- no. His friends helped him out in the long run. We all care about him, and no one should have to go through what he did as a child. You all just need to see that," I had raised my voice, and I was starting to get angry.

"You're right," Redux stepped forward. "Brother, I'm sorry,"
"You didn't do anything aside from judge me these past few days. You two on the other hand, I'd love to hear a sincere apology from." Midas continued.
"Fine. Son, we're sorry. You're not a bad person, we're just bad parents. If you need anything from us at all, find us at Salty Springs. Have a good day," they walked out of the room after M's mom stopped talking. Jules and Redux followed them outside.
"Hey, Jules," Midas called after her. She popped her head back in the room. "Thank you," Jules nodded and gave a small wave. We were alone once again.
"I feel as if that wasn't sincere, but I'll take it." Midas said. He turned to face me and took my other hand in his.
"It's something at least," I chuckled.
"So that's that I guess. I'm glad that the problem's solved,"
"Me too. For your sake M."
"Midas is fine," he said. I rolled my eyes and kissed him. "That's all?"
"You're so picky," I said, and kissed him again, deeper this time. He pulled away and smiled. Little did both of us know, that could have been the last kiss we shared.
"That's better love,"
"I'm laughing on the inside," I stated. "Wait, do you hear that?"
Midas stopped laughing and wiped the smile off his face. "Shadow's choppers. Get your things, and be ready for another battle. I think we'll be dealing with a couple more clones!" I nodded and bolted out of the room and into the weapons room.
"Agents, you all need to gather weapons and meds. Make sure you're at one hundred health and shield. Shadow's back again, and we have no time to lose. Go, now!" Midas sounded serious over the earpiece. I bolted upstairs and crashed into my old room. Luna and Kit were sitting on the bed huddled up with each other.
"You two need to stay here. You don't leave the room. I'm locking it from the outside. Don't make yourself known!" I yelled to them. Luna nodded and motioned Kit to follow her to the wardrobe. I exited the room, and ran outside to join in the fight.
