Ellie Moore
Today was the day I could finally get some fresh air. Hershel unwrapped my leg and I moved it around. I slipped on my shoe and said my goodbyes to Carl.
"Have fun." He smiled.
"I will." I walked out the door skipping around. "Aye, little Dixon." T- Dog said. "Theodore." I bowed. He laughed walking towards Rick.
Alexis and I went down by the lake and jumped in for a bit. I splashed her and she splashed back. After, I walked around a bit and stopped by Carl's window. I climbed up the vine and tapped on the window.
He turned and looked at me.
I stuck out my tongue and he frowned.
I climbed down and my mom called for me. I happily ran towards her. "Why don't you help me hang up clothes today." She demanded.
"I guess." I sighed.
I followed her and Carol to a clothesline and handed them clothes. Lori showed up a few moments later. We all made small talk until we finished. "Now excuse me, but I have to rub this in Carl's face."
Lori laughed and Carol smiled.
"Hey Grimes, want to have a back handspring contest." I happily skipped in his room. "Oh, wait, you can't." I frowned. He rolled his eyes. "It's not funny." He said. "Tomorrow I'll beat you in that contest." He shook his head.
"Well, you better practice... " I skipped out and ran into Glenn. "Wanna go check out the wells with me?" He asked. I nodded and followed him towards the wells.
When we arrived and there we saw Maggie, Andrea, Shane, T-Dog, Lori, and Dale. They all smiled and waved. "Good to see you up." Dale chirped. "Feels good to be up and walking." I said as I began dancing around.

Dale chuckled, "I can tell."
"Here Ellie let me show you how to pump the water," Maggie said. I nodded and walked over to her. She explained what to do and I did as told.
Once the water was poured in a tub T-Dog took a spoon and lifted it up. He was about to take a drink but Dale hit away.
"Hey!" T-Dog exclaimed.
Dale pointed in the well and I looked. A walker swam around in the well.
"We need to get it out," Andrea said. Shane lifted up his gun. "No!" I yelled. He stopped and looked at me. "If you shoot it, the water will get contaminated," I explained.
He nodded.
"Then what do we do."
We all turned towards Glenn.
~
We lowered Glenn down the well. I stayed on the end to tell them how far he needs to be lowered. "Okay," I told them. "Are you okay?" Maggie asked.
"Fine," Glenn said.
I looked at the pump that we tied to rope to and it looked like I would break any second. I quickly ran towards it but it broke. I grabbed it and slid lower and lower.
I almost fell in the well but Lori grabbed me. She held on trying to bring me up. Glenn screamed below me. "Help!" He yelled.
Lori pulled me up and then Glenn.
He was breathing heavily. "No one mentions this to Hanna," Dale said. Everyone agreed. I looked down and smiled. "Looks like Glenn got the rope on," I said. We pulled up the walker almost getting it over the edge. The walker split in half. "Ew!" I said.
We all looked at each other and walked away.
I decided to check on Carl to see how's he doing. Not that I care.

As I entered he was looking at the ceiling. "Please let Sophia be okay." He whispered. I smiled. "Young love makes me sick." I laughed sitting next to him.
He raised up and looked at me. "How's the weather?" He said as his eyes landed outside. "Eh." I shrugged, not giving him a clear answer.
I walked towards my bag and dug out a bag of chips. "You like Sun Chips?" I asked. "Never had them," Carl said.
I threw them at him and he opened them.
He pulled one out and took a bite. "These are good! Where did you get them?" Carl asked.
"The CDC." I laughed.
Carl shook his head. "Of course." I smiled and looked outside. "Have they found Sophia?" He talked while he munched on chips.
I ignored him and continued to look outside. "Ellie?" Carl said. I turned and looked at him.
"I got to go," I mumbled.
He gave me a confused look. "I'll see ya tonight." I walked out and met up with Beth.
"Hey." She smiled.
"Who's that? I never caught his name." I said. "Jim, he's my boyfriend." She blushed. I nodded thinking about the Jim we left behind back at our old camp.
"I knew a Jim once. He died." I frowned. "Ellie!" Daryl called. I said bye to Beth and made my way towards him. "Here." He handed me a rose. I looked at it. "A Cherokee Rose?" I said. "Give it to your mom." He looked at the ground.
"Thanks."
"No problem," Daryl said. "I set us up a tent."
"It's over there."
I nodded. "I'll probably sleep in the guest room until Carl's better," I said. Daryl nodded. "I was just telling ya just in case." He played with his fingers.
"Okay."
~
I woke up the next day in the same chair I've always been. My mom and Daryl told me they were going off to look for Sophia. I nodded and followed him out. I sat down next to Glenn and he strummed his guitar. I hummed next to him and Maggie walked out.
Glenn quickly stood up.
I gave them a confused look. "Nice guitar."
"Dale found it in the highway," Glenn said. An awkward silence surrounded us. "Well... I'm going to just.." I got up walking inside.

8 206The Girl He Used To Know - An UnderCurrent Story
Pierre Havelock is an author, atleast now he is. In truth 3 decades ago Pierre was dragged across space & time only to land on our boring old earth. So when one of his 'characters', a girl based on someone he once knew in his past life, appears before him - Pierre is less than best pleased. He is even less happy when said girl decides to make his house her new home! __Now on Royal-Road! ‘The Girl he Used To Know’ began life when I came across a rather silly prompt on a web-novel site I was using; "Theme: My 2D waifu is now my real life Valentine's!?"Well with a title like that I couldn’t help but be interested by the idea of leaving my usual writing niche and trying something a bit more novel. Tying it loosely back to my main series ‘UnderCurrent’, ‘GUK’ was born as a standalone romance novella which you are now holding, styled with Japanese tropes in mind from a more western perspective.I hope you will find this to be an interesting and fun read - Designed with the intent of being a somewhat contemplative and ‘cosy’ story - Whatever the case I thank you for picking it up and giving it a once over.- Momentie __I adapted Draft 2 to audio - I can't voice act, or edit, yet I kinda like it & find it personally the best way to enjoy the story😂 - https://youtu.be/kNWiSiZU53U
