Y/N stared blankly at her reflection in front of her, a numb feeling overcoming her body as the reality of what was about to happen finally hit her. She was biting her lip, trying to keep back the tears that were begging to fall down, but she wouldn't allow it. Not now. Because allowing them to fall would mean accepting what was to happen and she didn't want to do that. She really didn't want to do that.

She didn't want to say goodbye.

A knocking on the bathroom door had the girl snapping out of her thoughts, but she didn't go to open the door and only stared at her hands which were gripping onto the sink counter like her life depended on it.

"Y/N?" a soft voice called out.

Beverly.

"Y/N, sweetie, open up," Beverly pleaded as she knocked once again on the door. "I know it's hard, but you can't go through this alone."

Y/N was silent for a minute and she heard Beverly sigh before a small thud against the door told the girl that Beverly had leaned her head against the wood. "Y/N," Beverly whispered.

Y/N's mouth opened for a moment and she let out a shaky breath before almost whimpering, "I don't want to say goodbye."

"I know. I know," Beverly sighed. "But they have to go home, Y/N. They have people waiting for them and you know that."

"It hurts," Y/N whispered, the reality of having to part ways with the Party once again hitting her right in the gut and making her feel sick.

"It hurts them too," Beverly told her. "But seeing you hurting, knowing that you don't want to say goodbye is only going to make it harder on both of you. You need to come say goodbye, Y/N. It's time."

Y/N was silent, her whole body shaking as she willed herself not to let out a small sob. She was afraid to say goodbye, afraid of what it would mean and of what would happen to her and Beverly knew it.

"You're not going to be alone," Beverly assured her as she placed a hand against the wooden door. "You'll still have me and Richie and Stan and Ben and Eddie and Mike and we can't forget Bill. You'll still have the Losers, Y/N. And the Party will never really leave you. You guys have a special bond that will never be forgotten."

Beverly sighed before whispering, "It's time to say goodbye."

There was another silence before the door to the bathroom finally opened up to reveal Y/N standing there with red eyes, tears begging to spill out at any second. Beverly smiled sadly at her friend while Y/N returned it with a shaky one.

"It's time to say goodbye," Y/N agreed despite the ache in her heart from having to say it.

Y/N hesitantly walked out of the bathroom and Beverly was quick to wrap an arm around the girl, the red head giving her a small reassuring smile before they began to make their way out of the house and outside to where the other Losers and the Party were currently saying goodbye by Steve's car.

A few tears escaped Y/N's eyes as soon as she saw that the Losers and the Party were getting a little choked up saying goodbye to each other and she swore her heart broke when she saw Richie and Wheeler struggling to hold back tears as they fist bumped before pulling each other in for a hug, Eleven then hugging Richie immediately after while Wheeler watched the two fondly.

Her eyes flickered over her friends, watching as they all hugged each other and laughed as they wiped their tears away. She stopped when she saw Steve saying goodbye to Bill, the two whispering lowly while Bill looked at the older boy with tear filled eyes and a smile on his face. Steve ruffled the boy's hair and that's when he looked up and caught eyes with Y/N.

As soon as Steve and Y/N made eye contact it seemed as if the whole group noticed that the girl had arrived. The Losers all smiled sadly and got out of the way so that Y/N could have her moment with her friends. Y/N gripped onto Beverly a little tighter when she tried to leave, but one reassuring smile from the red head had Y/N releasing her, allowing the girl to take her place by the Losers side and leaving Y/N standing in front of the Party.

The Party had walked closer together, all of their eyes on the girl before them as they all struggled to hold back tears. "So this is it," Lucas finally said, breaking the silence that had fallen among the group.

"No," Y/N shook her head, a sad smile on her face. "It's just another goodbye, another see you later is all." Her eyes flickered over her friends before she whispered, "Right?"

"Right," they all agreed, knowing that the girl was in fact correct. There never would be an end to their friendship, only a small distance keeping them apart until they were able to see each other again. And they would see each other again, they would all make sure of it.

"I'm. . .I'm going to miss you guys," Y/N said, her voice cracking before she began to cry. Her whole body shook as a sob left her lips and Will was quick to break the distance between them, instantly wrapping the girl up in a hug while she curled her hands into fists on his shirt.

Will and Y/N were both crying while the Party watched them sadly, slowly walking up to get closer to their friends as they said goodbye. Eleven placed a hand on the girl's shoulder and Y/N reluctantly pulled away from Will before realizing that she had to move on to the next person.

Y/N looked back at Will and the two placed their foreheads against each other like they always did and chuckled softly as they looked at each other's tear stained faces. "Love you, Will the Wise," Y/N whispered.

Will pulled her in for another hug, giving her one last squeeze as he whispered back, "I love you too."

The two smiled sadly at each other before Eleven was then hugging the girl. Y/N shakily held onto the girl tightly as she whispered, "You keep them all safe, okay? And keep yourself safe, got it?"

Eleven nodded before pulling away to look at her friend, smiling sadly at her as she tried to wipe her friend's tears off of her face. "Got it. Best friends, right?" she whispered, both girls instantly thinking back to that time when Y/N had done Eleven's makeup and they had been standing looking at themselves in the mirror together.

"Best friends," Y/N agreed, nodding slightly before the two smiled at each other.

Max came next and quickly hugged the girl, whispering into her ear, "Take care of yourself, okay? And call us anytime that you need us. Even if you just need a break from those assholes, we'll be down here in no time."

Y/N chuckled and held her friend tightly. "Got it," she whispered before Max was pulling away to let another person step in.

Y/N was instantly wrapped up in Dustin's arms, the curly haired boy smiling down at his friend as she giggled and hugged the boy back. "Same time on Monday?" Dustin asked, trying desperately to let her know that they would still be connected despite the distance.

"Of course. Wouldn't miss it for the world," Y/N smiled. Dustin smiled and hugged the girl once again before letting Wheeler step in to hug his friend.

"You sure you can't come back with us? I think there's some room in our trunk for you if you want," Wheeler jokingly said.

"As fun as that sounds, I've got to make sure they don't kill themselves," Y/N laughed as she gestured towards the Losers.

Wheeler chuckled and looked down at the girl fondly before saying, "Next time we see each other we are totally having a karaoke night."

"Oh, no doubt," Y/N agreed. "I've been telling Richie about how I've got the best karaoke partner in the word and he still thinks him and Stan would beat us."

"Yeah right. We'll destroy them," Wheeler said, the two laughing before fist bumping.

"Okay, Mike, my turn!" Lucas exclaimed as he playfully shoved the boy out of the way to hug his best friend. Y/N instantly hugged him back, tears streaming down her face as she smiled sadly.

"You better stay out of trouble, L/N. If Dustin shows up on my doorstep at midnight one more time, I might just move you to another country to make sure you're safe," Lucas joked making the girl laugh as she pulled away to look at her friend.

"I'll try," she assured him before the two hugged one last time. Lucas then pulled away and went to go join the other members of the Party, leaving Y/N and Steve to say the last and final goodbye.

Steve was staring at his feet, not letting his eyes meet the girl as they stood there in silence. Finally, the boy sighed and said, "You going to be okay without us?"

"Probably not," Y/N admitted with a small shrug. She then glanced back at the Losers and smiled softly at the sight of them before whispering, "But I'll manage."

Steve looked up at that and looked to the Losers before looking back at Y/N. "You'll be in good hands," Steve agreed before Y/N turned to look at him.

She could see the tears threatening to fall from Steve's eyes as the boy struggled to keep it together and the sight made her tears fall more than they already were.

"Come here," Steve finally whispered and Y/N was quick to close the distance between the two, instantly wrapping her arms around him and digging her face into his side as she let out a small sob. Steve had to bite back his own as he hugged the girl back with shaking arms.

"I'm going to miss you, squirt," Steve muttered, his voice cracking as he let his tears fall.

"I'm going to miss you too, Harrington. No one can ever replace you," she laughed as she pulled away to look at the boy.

The two stared at each other for a minute, but both of their lips began to quiver before they hugged each other again. Steve didn't hold back his cries anymore as he held the girl, knowing that he would have to go back home and continue living life without her making his heart ache.

"Steve," a voice whispered and the older boy looked up to see Dustin standing there sadly with the other members of the Party, all of them silently crying as they knew what Dustin was about to say. "It's time to go."

Y/N's grip tightened just a bit at that and Steve side before patting the girl's back. "Come on, squirt. You're going to be just fine, okay? I mean look at how much you've grown since you moved here. I'm already so proud of who you have become and I can't wait to see you grow even more. And just think, in a year, you'll be done with high school and then we'll be able to see each other as much as you want. We can last one more year, right?" Steve asked, the question sounding as if it were more for the both of them than just her.

"Yeah," Y/N agreed as she pulled away to look at the boy. "One more year."

Steve's eyes flickered over her face and he smiled softly before whispering, "One more year."

Y/N smiled despite the tears rolling down her face and Steve was quick to use his jacket sleeve to wipe the tears away. "I love you, squirt," Steve told her.

"I guess I love you too, Harrington," Y/N jokingly said earning a roll of the eyes from Steve before he was ruffling her hair. Y/N chuckled and quickly fixed her hair while Steve patted her shoulder and took a step back.

Y/N took a step back to look at the Party and smiled softly at them before whispering, "I love you guys."

"We love you too," they whispered before the group got together for one last group hug.

After that, the Party turned to the Losers and it was almost like they were handing Y/N off to them, the Losers instantly pulling the girl into the center of their group where they all circled around the crying girl. Beverly instantly held onto Y/N's arm while Y/N leaned against Bill's side. Richie had a hand on the girl's shoulder and Eddie was holding Y/N's other free hand while Ben, Stan, and Mike stood close enough that she could feel all of the Losers' love and comfort radiating off of them and towards her.

It was that love and comfort that kept her standing as she watched the Party all pile into Steve's car. It was when they were about to close the car doors that the teens paused and looked back at the Losers and at Y/N, hesitation evident in their faces.

"We'll take care of her," Mike spoke up, already knowing what the Party needed to hear.

"She's going to be okay," Stan assured them as he smiled down at the girl before looking back at the Party.

Those words were enough to make them all visibly relax and Steve nodded at the Losers before closing the door to the back and hopping into the car himself. The car sputtered to life and Y/N watched as the Party all looked out the different windows.

Y/N slowly lifted up a hand and gave them a small wave, the Party all smiling softly and waving back as the car began to pull away. And as the car began to make its way down the street, Y/N found herself pulling away from the Losers, her feet carrying her out to the middle of the street as she desperately tried to watch the car for as long as she could.

It reminded her of two years ago, when the roles had been flipped and she had been staring out the back window of her car as her friends had stood in the road. That same feeling that had fallen upon her then was overtaking her body now and it took all in her not to break down right there on the spot.

But then the Losers were all by her side, their arms wrapping around her and keeping her up on her feet as Steve's car disappeared from view, fully bringing their small adventure to an end.

Y/N couldn't stop herself from letting out a small sob, but unlike last time, she had the Losers there to keep her steady and she was instantly wrapped up in a hug.

That hug, a hug that was filled with so much love and comfort and that was coming from some of the people that she loved most in the world, was exactly what she needed to keep herself grounded.

Knowing that the girl needed some cheering up, the Losers decided to take Y/N out to dinner at her favorite diner in town. Since her calf was still in some pain, Y/N had to ride on Bill's bike, but the boy didn't seem to mind and only glared at his friends when Richie and Beverly smirked at the boy.

By the time they got to the diner, it was passed dinner time so the diner was pretty empty which was good news for them. The group squeezed their way into a booth with Eddie, Richie, Beverly, Ben in one side and Bill, Y/N, Stan, and Mike in the other.

The group ordered quickly, everyone already knowing their order since they came there so often. While their meals were being made, the group did everything in their power to get Y/N to laugh and smile. Luckily for them, Y/N couldn't help but smile when she was with them, so the smiling thing wasn't too hard.

However, it didn't take a genius to notice that her smile didn't reach her eyes like usual or that the usual sparkle in her eyes has dimmed ever so slightly just like her mood.

It didn't take long for their orders to arrive and once it had, a small silence fell among the group as the Losers all silently watched their friend who did nothing but stare at the food on her plate.

"What's wrong, L/N? They mess up your order or something?" Richie found himself asking, hissing slightly when Eddie kicked his leg and frowning when the Losers all glared at him.

"No," Y/N said, glancing up at her friends and giving them the smallest of smiles. "I'm just thinking is all." She looked back down at her meal and reluctantly picked up a french fry before eating it.

Everyone watched her sadly before Eddie reached out and placed a hand on top of the girl's, stopping her from eating when it was clear she didn't want to. Y/N paused and let her eyes flicker up to the boy who smiled at her.

"We're here for you, you know," Eddie whispered, the words having a deeper impact than he probably realized.

"Yeah, you're not alone," Ben agreed causing Y/N to look in his direction.

"You can talk to us," Mike told her making Y/N glance at him before she looked around at all the other Losers sitting around her.

"I miss them," she finally said, the words holding so much more than the actual meaning behind them. "I miss their friendship. I miss hanging out all the time and being inseparable. I miss being there for each other, the late night conversations, the all nighters and sleepovers, the getting in fights with other people and sticking up for each other. I miss the adventures we would have and the memories that we made."

"And I know that I have you guys and believe me, I am so thankful for you all. I honestly thought that I wouldn't have any friends when I moved, but the friendships I have made with you all are beyond anything that I could've imagined. I love you all with all of my heart, but I love them too and it hurts knowing how far away they are. It hurts knowing that I can't see them every day like I do with you and I can't help but wonder-" Y/N fell short with her statement, her eyes filling with tears as she looked down.

"Wonder what?" Stan asked, his voice soft as he placed a hand on the girl's shoulder.

She looked up at Stan and he swore his heart broke at the sight of a few tears rolling down her face as she whispered, "What if they forget about me?"

"Forget about you?" Eddie questioned as he reached forward with his free hand to wipe the girls tears from her face. "How could they forget about you? The way they look at you and the way they care about you makes it almost impossible to believe that they would ever forget about someone as special as you."

"You mean so much to them, Y/N. I mean, they drove all the way to Derry just to help you when you needed it most and it's been what? Two years?" Ben asked.

"But we're so far apart. . .what if we aren't able to see each other again any time soon? What if, by the time I graduate, we're never really close again?" Y/N asked.

"Knowing you and knowing them, you all would never allow that to happen," Mike assured her.

"I agree with Mike," Stan said. "You all were able to go through two whole years without living in the same town or seeing each other and look at how close you guys still are! I'm not saying everything is ever going to be the same because the distance does make things a little hard, but everything about the friendship is still the same. You are all still the same people and your friendship is still just as strong as it's always been."

"So why do I feel like half of me left with them?" Y/N asked quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.

"That's the hard part," Richie sighed, instantly gaining the attention of the girl who looked to him as if she were waiting for the answer to the meaning of life itself.

"You will never be completely at home again because part of your heart will always be somewhere else. That's the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place. And knowing you, that's a price I know you're willing to pay," Richie said, the seriousness of his words making it really process in her mind what they were all trying to tell her.
