Y/N's POV
I stared at the board mindlessly. This morning, I texted Byungchan since it was our first anniversary. He still wasn't replying and it kind of got me down. He would typically reply as fast as the speed of lightning. Even my texts about my rants at 3 in the morning.
I was just thinking if he didn't charge his phone, turned it off, or if it was on silent mode. I kept these thoughts clouded in my mind so it wouldn't leave me in a bad mood.
Still waiting for lunch break since we were in different classes, it was kind of sad. And as of my thought, the bell rang and got out of class.
I looked for him as my eyes were roaming around the cafeteria. I spot him and I waved my hand aggressively at him to catch his attention. He sees me and alerts me to come to his table. I ran to him holding my platter tightly due to my restlessness.
I sat down smiling like a freak at him. "Looks like you're in a good mood." He said as if he doesn't know why. "Of course, you know why," I said to him. I think he didn't hear me.
I repeated my sentence but I think he ignored me. I was offended as he just continued eating. He started talking about the usual stuff as if it was a normal day.
"Oh, by the way, I texted you this morning but you didn't reply. Is your phone broken or something?" I asked. "Oh, my charger broke last night so my phone didn't charge." He explained. "So what did your text say?" He asks. "I think you want to wait to look at it," I said teasing him.

"Uhm, okay." He replies. The bell rings and he hurries to leave. "Hey uh, I have to do something so I have to hurry. Sorry, and uh bye!" He leaves in a quick pace and disappears.
By that moment, I was heartbroken that he didn't even have a clue about any of my actions.
Byungchan's POV
By this moment I bet she's pissed off at me right now. Of course, I would never forget about this memorable day. I just wanted to tease her and act like I forgot. I went to my next class and sat down.
As the teacher was discussing, I was communicating with Subin by writing and passing a piece of paper. I wrote 'Did you bring the stuff I told you to bring ??'. Then I folded the paper and passed it below the arm of my chair.
He secretly gets it and reads it. He clicks his pen and started writing. As he gave it back to me it said 'Of course,'. I just smiled back at him.

Subin and I met at the back of the school. It was a bit old since people barely go there. There was an old swing set, so that's where we started.
While Subin was putting some decorations on it, I texted Y/N. 'Can we meet at the library? There's a test for chemistry tomorrow.' I tried to make it less obvious. I hope she's not mad so she won't ignore me.
We were already done and I kind of got proud of it. It was just the swing set with some garlands hanging and I set up a table in front of it with a customized cake that says 'Happy 1st anniversary of us !' It was kind of cheesy, but I liked it in a way. It was the least that I could do for her.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and I expected it was her. 'Sure,' She replied. She does sound mad.
As I arrived in front of the library, I saw her glancing around and checking if I was already inside. I made silent footsteps behind her and closed her eyes with a handkerchief.
Y/N's POV
I was peeking in the library but I didn't see any sign of Byungchan. I'm still kind of mad of him though.
Just as I was checking inside, my sight was blocked by someone that covered my eyes. "Hey, who is this?!" I started to panic at that moment.
Then the person carried me bridal style to somewhere. I tried to escape but I was shaky because of my emotions at the moment.
I got my feet back on the ground once more then my eyes were not covered anymore. The first thing that caught my eyes was a designed swing set, and Subin was smiling at me like a creep, weird.
I looked at the person that brought me here, and it was Byungchan. That was a surprise, for a weakling like him, he carried me all the way here. No offense, he said so.
I was cackling in my head because he was panting and I could see he's trying his best to hide it even if it's obvious.
He took out something from his back, which was a bouquet of red roses. I smiled at him and was a bit teary eyed.
From the start of the day, I thought he forgot but I knew he might be joking all this time. I was so blinded by the thought that he would forget. And now I realized how he's not that kind of person to give this much effort but I saw how much he loves me.
I hugged him so tight that I never actually wanted to let go. I cried on his shoulder and I knew he felt that. He hugged me back and whispered, "I'll never forget, okay?" It made me more regretful by the fact that I expected him to forget this day.
"Sorry to bother you guys but, the cake's getting flies on it." Subin interrupts. "Oh sorry," All of us chuckles.
For the rest of the day, we hung out a bit and had the rest of the day just for ourselves. I would even ask for someone else other than him, even how much he would create jokes at unnecessary times. Man, it always gives me heart attacks.

Sexy Sect Babes
“One in a billion.” Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head. “One in a billion.” That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other. “Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.” He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling. “Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him. Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural. Which meant people. He hoped. Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much. And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception. “Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.” No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.

It's what trial runs are for! :P ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you're wondering where I got my cover, check out This Guy From Fiverr They're really good.

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
