—————-
Billy was a hard person to date. He had trust issues, commitment issues, he had a temper. Those were the issues you had hoped that would change after dating for almost a year but nothing had changed.
You had the same fight with him about every couple of months. He would accuse you of hooking up with Steve Harrington, you would have to tell him that you didn't sleep with Steve. He would yell at you and you would tell back, this would go on for hours. You would eventually kick him out of your house and be left in silence until your parents come home.
This time it was different your fight had gone past your normal argument. You had been arguing for about 2 hours when you had finally let out the one thing that has been bothering you the most. He had never said he loved you, you had told him countless times. You had been so patient and understanding with him and you had thought that maybe you were being selfish or inconsiderate but, it didn't help the nagging voice in the back of your mind that told you that he wasn't serious about you or that he didn't love you.
"Sometimes Billy, I don't even think you like me anymore! You clearly don't trust me and I know you don't love me because you won't even say it back!" It came out so suddenly that you hadn't realized what you said at all.
He was silent for a moment and then he turned around and walked out. You were so shocked that you couldn't even move. Billy always had to have the last word, always. So when he left without saying anything at all, you were speechless.
You didn't talk to Billy for like 2 weeks, he never called you and had tried to call him like 3 times but Max said he didn't want to talk to you. So you stopped calling him.

Soon 2 weeks turned into 3, then 3 turned into 4. You took his silence as him ending your relationship. You moved on with your life, you had been watching Lucas and her sister more and hanging out with your best friend Robin. Robin really wanted to go to the pool but, you refused because Billy worked there. Robin told you that he did not wok Wednesdays so you guys would go on a Wednesday. It took some convincing but you agreed.
Wednesday finally came and you and Robin got into the water immediately. You guys had attracted the attention of a couple of boys, neither of you were interested, you still had feelings for Billy and well Robin wasn't interested in boys at all. You didn't think it would hurt to flirt with them so you flirted and laughed at their lame attempts to hit on you. You could feel a hot gaze on you, you turned around and saw Billy staring at you from his seat on the lifeguard chair.
Billy watched you flirt with those guys and he watched as you laid in the sun. You watched him yell at children and flirt with Karen Wheeler. He continued to watch you as the guys from earlier came up to you and asked for your number and you gladly gave it to while within hearing distance of Billy.
You and Robin left the pool after about 2 hours there. You drove her home and you went home yourself. It wasn't until you were getting ready for bed that you heard tapping on your window, you opened your window and saw Billy. He was visibly drunk, he had a bottle of beer in his hand. You went to close your window but he started yelling your name.
"Billy! Shut up! My parents are sleeping!" Billy laughed at you, he never got this drunk.
"I fucking love you Y/n!" Of course he told you while he was drunk.
"Tell me when you're sober." You closed your window and did your best to sleep through the tapping on your window.
You waited a week for Billy to call you and tell you that he loved you while he was sober. You waited a whole month and still he never called you.
