You and Billy were very different people. Billy was The Billy Hargrove and you were just Y/N Henderson. You two had been dating for about 5 months, and nobody knew, not even your nosy little brother. You would sneak out or he would sneak in, you tutored Billy after school every day so, it wasn’t unusual for you two to be seen at the library after school.

You wanted to tell your friends, that you were dating but, you didn’t want to hear about you weren’t right for each other. Billy has definitely had his troubles, you really got to know Billy and were willing to look past the mistakes he’s made.

Billy was tired of hiding your relationship from everyone, he wanted to let everyone know that he had a beautiful girl at his side. You and Billy had fallen hard for each other, he told you that he loved you after about dating for 2 months and ever since then he’s wanted to be able to show you off, you were a little more hesitant about it. This was what most of your arguments were about actually.

You were in your room with Billy, thankfully you had the house to yourself, Dustin was with his friends and your mom was out of town visiting some of your aunts. You and Billy were currently standing across the room from each other, you guys had been fighting for an hour now.

“C'mon Y/N, it’s been 5 months, why can’t we just tell everyone already?” You let out a deep sigh at his question.

“Because Billy, I don’t want to get shit about our relationship okay? I don’t want people telling me that I’m not good enough for you, I don’t want to hear shit from my brother, I don’t want people to be in my business. That’s why.” You let out a huff and you waited for him to answer.

“Listen to me, I do not give a single fuck about what anyone has to say about us. They won’t know about how much we love each other, they won’t know about late nights that we’ve spent in your room just talking, they won’t know any of that. I’ve waited my whole damn life to find someone like you Y/N, and I just want the whole world to know that I have got the best damn girlfriend in the whole world.” Billy walked towards you and wrapped his arms around you. After a moment of silence you broke away from the hug and spoke.

“Okay, I’m ready to tell everyone but, can we tell Dustin first? I know he’s gonna freak out and I just want to get that over with and I know he’s gonna tell all of his friends. ” Billy chuckled slightly.

“Sure, when do you want to tell him?”

“Tomorrow after school? My mom’s still gonna be at my aunt’s so, just come over at 6, we can break the news to him and order pizza.”

“Alright, sounds good.” Billy couldn’t fight the grin that was making it’s way to his face.

Billy stayed over that night, and he snuck out when your alarm went off.

Today was the day you were going to tell Dustin that you were dating Billy Hargrove. You were so nervous, you didn’t want to even think about it. You got dressed for the day and went to wake up Dustin.

“Dusty, are you awake?” You heard him groan, he made his way to his door and opened it showing you that he was awake.

“Hey, so I thought that tonight we could order pizza and watch your favorite movies, are you down for that?” He smiled showing you his pearly whites.

“Yeah that sounds cool!” you chuckled at his enthusiasm.

“Alright, now get ready for school.”

You had been distracted all day, you kept thinking about all the possible ways that Dustin would react. You were so distracted that you hadn’t realized that Billy slipped you a note during class. It was sitting on your desk for probably 5 minutes before you noticed it, you picked it up and read it.

‘You okay Henderson?’ Was all it said, you wrote back saying that you were nervous about tonight and you passed it back to him. He quickly wrote back, he asked you if you wanted to skip your next class, you declined and then suddenly the bell rang.

Finally it was time to go home, you waited for Dustin to get in your car, once he got in you asked him how his day was. You got home and checked the time 4:30, in 90 minutes Billy would be here.

It was 5:35, and you decided to order Dustin’s favorite pizza, you told Dustin you had order the pizza and that it would be at your house in 20 minutes. 20 minutes came and went, your pizzas were here and it was 5:55, Billy was supposed to be here in 5 minutes. You stared at the clock on the oven, just waiting for time to pass. At 5:57, there was a knock on your door, you heard Dustin run to the door and open it before you could even get a chance to get out of your chair.

“Y/N, what the hell is Billy Hargrove doing here?”

You went to let Billy in, and you stood by each other.

“Okay, now why’d you let him into our house?” You could tell that Dustin was not happy about Billy being inside of your house. You took a deep breath.

“Dustin, Billy is my boyfriend.” You watched his face, you were trying to read the current expression on his face. After a minute he finally spoke up.

“What the fuck? Seriously Y/N? You’re dating this jerk?” He was livid.

“Dustin, calm down. Listen, I know you have your own feelings towards Billy but, we’re dating and we wanted you to be the first person we told.” you tried to speak in your calmest voice.

“How long?”

“5 months.” Dustin let out a deep sigh.

“Okay, I’m glad you’re happy Y/N, but, Hargrove if you fuck with my sister’s heart I’ll kill you.” you rolled your eyes and went to tell Dustin to quit being ridiculous but, Billy spoke before you could.

“Trust me kid, the last thing I wanna do is fuck up what I have with your sister.” Dustin looked at the both of you and nodded.

“Alright boys, should we eat the pizza before it gets cold?” Dustin and Billy sat on opposite sides of you, eating silently. Dustin kept asking if he could tell the party, after about the 5th time he asked, you said yes. He brought his walkie talkie to the kitchen, he kept calling his friends, finally after about 5 minutes of him trying Mike answered.

“Dustin what the hell is so important?”

“Mike, who are you with right now?”

“Everyone except you, why?”

“Because Y/N and Billy Hargrove are dating.” you heard groans from all the kids, except Max.

“I already knew that.” That was Max, you and Billy were confused how the hell did she know? You took the walkie talkie from Dustin.

“Hey Max, Y/N here, how did you know?”

“Billy got really drunk one night and kept telling me about how much he missed you so, I kinda just figured that you guys were together.”

“Oh okay cool, you guys can talk to Dusty now.”

You finally told Dustin, Billy picked you up for school the next day, you got out of his car and walked towards him. Billy met you halfway and planted a sloppy kiss on your lips. Everyone in Hawkins knew that you were dating now, and you couldn’t be happier.
