“I love you Y/N” Billy's speech was slurred, the smell of alcohol on his breath made it obvious that he was drunk. You were helping him walk back to your car so that you could take him back to your house.

You were kind of hoping that if you just ignored it, then maybe his feelingsfor you would disappear and you could go back to being friends.

“I don't like you that way. We're just friends, Billy." You couldn't tell if he was hurt, he wouldn't look at you.

"If we're 'just friends' then why do you do nice shit for me?"

"Just because I drive you home, let you stay over when you need to get away from your house, doesn't mean I like you like that! I'm sorry if Tommy H. and Carol are shitty people that won't even drive you home after you've had one too many!"

Billy couldn't believe you brought up his home life, he didn't care about Tommy or Carol. He felt like you crossed a line just to get him to understand. He was slowly pushing you away, this was the second time this week that he brought this up to you.

Billy scoffed "A brother, really? I'm just a brother to you?"

"You're not just a brother to me, you're also my best friend." You really hoped that he would just let this whole thing go, he was being so unreasonable.

With that Billy just left. You didn't see Billy until he slipped into your room at 2 in the morning.

"Billy what are you doing here?" You honestly could not believe that he just showed up like this especially after he just walked out of your argument.

"I know that I'm probably the last person you want to see right now but, I thought maybe you might have thought about your feelings for me"

"I thought I made it clear Billy, we are just friends. Do you not get that? Do I need to find the definition of friends for you? Do you want me to spell it out for you? I'm done being nice about this Billy, will you just get it through your head?"

You were done, you were exhausted, you knew Billy could be stubborn but, this was a whole new level of stubbornness.
