《Fuck Off | Slashers》Chapter Sixteen -:- Questioning?

A knock on my door interrupted my late night thoughts as I was making a snack in the fridge. I walk to the door cautiously before hearing the voice call out the riverside police department. Shit.
"Hello can I help you officers?" I ask softly and tiredly as I had just woken up, I open the door slightly so they could see my hair that was messed up on my way over towards the door.
"We need to ask you some questions about Wyatt Demarco." The female officer spoke "we're sorry to wake you, do you mind if we come in?" I shake my head no and open the door leading them to my couch.
"What happened? Is Wyatt okay?" I ask faking my concern, probably almost everything about the conversation will be fake.
"We're sorry to inform you but Wyatt was killed a few days ago- we know we're just getting in contact- but we just found out you were a friend of his." The male officer spoke out, I let my fake tears rush to my eyes faking a sniffle as I was actually laughing inside.
"Oh-" sniffle "my- god." I could help but put on a show for them, he was a no good filthy shell of a man. He wasn't strong or even brave he was disgusting and putrid. I can't believe I even felt as though to consider him as a brother. His burning, rotting body can suck my clit.
"We have to ask- What was your relationship with the victim?" When the words victim fell out the man's mouth I almost slit his throat, how dare he be called the victim. Those poor girls and his bruised daughters the victims. I mean surley they saw the bruises on KC.
"Well I didn't really know him, I talked to him for the kids sake- they were friends- had play dates, and sleepovers- we would shift responsibility depending on the night." I speak lying. My face red and puffy, as my eyes were wet it was hard to fake this sometimes so I would think of things that upset me.

"We have reason to believe you saw him the day-" he paused looking at his flip notes. "October 21, last Friday." He speaks, the women seems to be modifying my behavior as if that's going to work I'm very intelligent- you should give up your not going to read me.
"Yes, it was almost 2- maybe 3. At lastest 3:30, I was a bit late in picking my daughter up." I reply and spent time thinking over the times themself as if I was really digging through my memories, scouring for the time.
"Was he acting a bit strange?" The women asks her eyes narrowing as my eyes squint deep in thought.
"He might've been, but I was in a hurry to get home- Had some work to do." I answer faking the unsure and sincerity in my voice. She nods as they write down almost everything i say.
"We just have a few more questions then we'll be on our way." He speaks out, flashing a smile I could tell was fake.
"Of course, parden my Manors would you guys like something to drink." I ask softly, they shake their heads no.
"No that's alright- but we do have to ask- we're you sexually involved with Wyatt." She asks making my face turn into one of a gross one.
"No- I mean I didn't really know him- I like to be with people I know and can read like an open book" I answer honestly, making her nod.
"Do you think he could've harmed his daughter or Son?" The male officer asked.
"I mean their were times I saw bruises on them- I would ask them questions about it but they just said they had fell or something happened." I lie trying to pan out the fact my story says they had bruises and was clearly lying about how they got them. When the kids were with me I didn't see any bruises but now thinking on it just because I didn't see them doesn't mean they weren't in places I hadn't seen them, fuck I can't believe I didn't realize. I should've realized. "They seemed as if they were lying- but I couldn't get anything out of her- I'm sure the daycare workers already told you this though."

"Yes there were reports of bruising, Wyatt always came up with an excuse for." She answered, she takes a deep breath before asking a question she seemed to be needing to ask the whole night "did you ever see bruising on your girl after coming home." It made my blood boil at the fact that he could hurt anyones kid let alone his own.
"Not that I could tell, I mean she's still a toddler so I dress and shower her but I honestly could've missed one or two." I speak out truthfully as I did shower and dress her, I never saw any but that doesn't mean their couldn't have been light one I couldn't see.
"Last question-" the male retorts and I just now noticed I didn't know their names or see their badges "we noticed that your daughter doesn't have a father- is he the father- or where is he?" The officer asks how is that any of their business I could see the women glare at him, before looking at me with a soft smile.
"No- but I don't see how that's any of your business." I scoff out suddenly angry.
"Answer the question who- and where is the child's father." He speaks his voice a bit violent and hard.
"No- because that has nothing to do with this- I'm a single, proud mother- and for all care he could rot in hell." I growl out my eyes seeing red, the female officer places her hand softly on my arm, calming me down.
"Your doing a great job mama, the daycare has nothing but good things to say about you and your daughter." She says in a soft tone making me smile appreciatively at the women "while we're on the topic of children- do you know any family that will be able to take them in?- we've looked and we can't seem to find anyone." She speaks out worried that the children would be put in foster care.
"Not that I can think of- he never talked about his or her family- not even the babies mother- but if you can't find anyone, I can take her in- she's almost like a daughter to me, and him a son to me- and it would be a shame for them to end up in a home with someone they don't know or worse." I drag out the women nods.
"We'll do what we can, won't we Michel." She glares at the man. The man clears his throat before nodding.
"Yeah." He says.
"Now as kindly as I can put this- please get the hell out of my house." I speak still angered about the fact her brought my personal business into this. They nod standing up and walking towards the door, they walk out as I reach the door, I hear a slap and see she's slapped his head angerly.
"We don't drag down people- much less amazing mothers yet single mothers." She growls, that was the last thing I heard before hearing them get in the car and they drive off as I shut the door.
I'm hoping they find some family for the kids- because is it really safe to bring another child near killers- not saying they'll do anything purposely- but even the slightest accident could happen and I would wanna see them hurt or worse- I sometimes don't even want my daughter near this- it could get dangerous as this is a dangerous business- I really hope they don't end up in the system.
