With his eyes wide as ever, Eddie Munson quickly ripped the tarp off of himself and sat up in the boat he was sleeping in and looked around himself before he ran over towards one of the windows to the boathouse and put a hand up against a wall and he started to look outside of the boathouse for any sign of anyone but Dustin and his friends to be the ones that found him.

While the sound of the floorboards creaking was heard, Eddie continued to look out the window as he said in a whisper, "Shit." Then, as he started to look away from the window, he said, "Oh, shit."

Then the door to the boathouse had opened, which got Eddie to stumble back and yell, "Jesus..."

It was then that he saw Dustin, Robin, Steve and Max all standing by the door to the boathouse, shortly before Dustin said with a smile on his face, "Delivery service."

With a sigh, Eddie let one of his arms fall to his side and looked away from the four of them before he looked back at the four of them, just in time to see Steve raise a hand and wave at him.

It wasn't long after that that Steve was pulled back out of the boathouse and Eddie could hear him let out a groan, which got Eddie to quickly raise his arm again, only to stop when both Valerie Mayfield and Matthew Wheeler had also poked their heads into the boathouse.

With a groan, Steve said, "What the hell, Wheeler?"

With a scoff, Matthew turned to look back over at Steve and said to him, "Oh, get over yourself, Harrington. It's just a little hit to your head. You'll be fine."

While Steve only scoffed to himself in response to Matthew's words, Eddie only stared at Matthew with furrowed eyebrows before letting out a forced chuckle when both of the juniors raised at least one of their hands and he could see that they were both carrying two six-packs of beer with them.

While Eddie continued to shove handfuls of the Honeycomb cereal into his mouth, Dustin told him, "So we got, uh, some good news and some bad news. How do you prefer it?"

With a shake of his head, Eddie said, "Bad news first, always."

While Eddie started to drink some of the Yoohoo he was given, Dustin said, "Alright. Bad news. We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro, and they're definitely looking for you. Also, they're, uh, pretty convinced you killed Chrissy."

Then Max said, "Like, a hundred-percent kind of convinced."

As he turned to look back over at Dustin, Eddie asked them, "And the good news?"

Robin told him, "Your name hasn't gone public yet. But if we found out about you, it's only a matter of time before others do, too. And once that gets out, everyone and their shallow-minded mother is gonna be gunning for you."

Then Eddie asked them, "Hunt the freak, right?"

While Matthew only sighed to himself with a bit of a frown on his face, Robin said, "Exactly."

In turn, Eddie said, "Shit."

Then Dustin told him, "So, before that happens, we need to find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence."

With a tilt of his head, Eddie asked him, "That's all, Dustin? That's all?"

With a tilt of his own head, Dustin replied, "Yeah, no, that-that's pretty much it."

With a sigh, Matthew said, "Look, uh, no offense, Henderson, but according to you and Eddie, this Vecna is some undead and dark wizard. Last I checked, something that's undead just can't be killed, so, uh, how exactly are we supposed to kill something that's supposed to be unkillable and prove Eddie's innocence in the process?" When Valerie had only elbowed him in his side, Matthew said, "What, Valerie? It's just an honest question. I mean, sure, the Demogorgons and Demo-dogs and whatever else we've faced could be killed, but according to Henderson and Eddie, this Vecna can't. So, excuse me for not wanting Eddie to get blamed for a death that he had absolutely nothing to do with."

After a moment of silence, which involved nearly everyone in the room silently eyeing Matthew, Eddie quickly looked over at Robin when she said to him, "Listen, Eddie, I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional, but we've actually been through this kind of thing before. I mean, they have a... a few times, and... and I have once. Mine was more human-flesh-based, and theirs was more smoke-related, but bottom line is, collectively, I really feel like we got this."

It was then that Steve said to him, "Yeah, see, we usually rely on this girl who has super powers. But, uh, those went bye-bye, so, uh..." After Matthew had simply slapped the back of Steve's head, which got Eddie to silently eye Matthew with furrowed eyebrows, Robin told him, "So we're technically in-in more of the—"

With a wave of his hand, Steve said, "Kinda..."

Then Max said, "Brainstorming phase."

With a snap of his fingers, Steve said, "Brainstorming." When Matthew had slapped the back of his head yet again, Steve turned to him and said, "What?"

Matthew told him, "You're not helping him feel any better about this, dumbass."

After looking between Steve and Matthew with furrowed eyebrows, Eddie looked over at Dustin, who said to him, "There... There's nothing to worry about."

When Steve had only scoffed to himself, which got Eddie to tilt his head with a raise of his eyebrows, Matthew let out a sigh before he slapped the back of Steve's head for a third time.

Then Steve quickly looked over at Matthew and asked him, "What was that for?"

After letting out a scoff of his own, Matthew replied, "What the fuck do you think that was for, dumbass?" When Steve only shook his head, Matthew told him, "Yet again, Harrington, you're doing nothing to make Eddie feel better about any of this. I mean, just look at him. This is completely blowing his fucking mind. If this was a fucking cartoon, his head would've blown up by now. Oh, and also, what the fuck was that shit where you said that we would rely on El and that her powers had gone bye-bye?"

Steve said to him, "Well, they did."

With a scowl now on his face, Matthew went to grab at Steve's jacket, only to stop when Valerie had quickly pulled him away from the recent graduate and tried to keep Matthew from pulling out his switchblade.

After glancing over at Valerie, Matthew looked over at Eddie, who didn't look any better about what he was seeing or being told, which got him to let out a sigh before he ripped his arms out of Valerie's grasp.

Then Matthew let his backpack slide down his arm and catch it in his hands before he started to look through it.

And while he looked through it, everyone in the boathouse silently eyed the violent member of the Wheeler family before they finally stopped when Matthew had tossed a small bag that Matthew had kept in his backpack was tossed over towards Eddie, who barely managed to catch the small bag with his hands.

Then Eddie opened the bag to see Matthew's backup walkman and a couple of cassette tapes lying inside of it before he looked back up at Matthew and asked him, "What's this for?"

Matthew replied, "Like I said, Eddie. You look about ready to go out of your fucking mind from everything we told you. I mean, I know that you can't smoke weed or anything else right now to help you, but I've found that music helps a lot when you're dealing with shit like this. It's certainly helped me, so I didn't see the problem with giving them to you."

It was then that Dustin said with furrowed eyebrows, "But, Matt, you told me yourself that those are your favorite tapes. You never go anywhere without them. You said that they're the only things that kept you from losing your mind from our past encounters with the Upside Down."

With a shrug of his shoulders, Matthew replied, "It doesn't matter. Eddie needs 'em a hell of a lot more than I do, anyway."

Then Dustin said, "And another thing. Since when do you call him 'Eddie'? For the longest time, you've done nothing but call him 'Munson', so why are you calling him 'Eddie' now?"

With a scoff, Matthew asked him, "Seriously, Henderson? That's your biggest problem right now? Me calling him 'Eddie' instead of 'Munson'? Are you fucking serious right now, Henderson?" When Dustin didn't respond, Matthew told him, "In case you forgot, Henderson, Eddie's still wanted for some murder that he didn't even fucking do and is hiding out by Lover's Lake just so that he doesn't fucking get arrested for Chrissy Cunningham's death. So, how about instead of worrying more about what I'm calling him, you worry more about how the fuck we're supposed to be killing Vecna, who is– according to you and Eddie– an undead and dark wizard with a shit-ton of power. Okay?"

Yet again, the boathouse was quiet once more as nearly everyone inside of the boathouse silently eyed Matthew.

The only thing that broke the moment of silence was the sound of some sirens wailing in the distance.

While Matthew was quick to pull his crowbar out of his backpack, much to the surprise of Eddie as he stumbled back from the weapon-wielding member of the Wheeler family, Steve said in a whisper, "Shit."

Then Robin said to Eddie, "Tarp. Tarp. Tarp."

While the others in the group quickly went over towards the window to the boathouse, Matthew only remained behind and over by the boat that Eddie was once again lying inside of.

And while Matthew kept a tight grip onto his own crowbar, the others in the group watched as several emergency vehicles drove past them.

It wouldn't be until after all of the emergency vehicles had driven past them that Dustin looked over at Matthew and said to him, "Matt, c'mon. We've got to go."

With a sigh, Matthew repeatedly looked between his group of friends and the tarp-covered boat that Eddie was lying in before he took out one of his unopened cigarette packs and put it on the floor beside the boat.

Then, after patting on the side of the boat, Matthew said, "Stay safe, Eddie."

Then he quickly ran after the others and out of the boathouse, leaving Eddie to pull the tarp off of himself and hurry over towards the window to the boathouse and watch as Steve drove away from him and in the direction that the emergency vehicles had gone in.

It wasn't until the car was gone that Eddie had looked back at the beer that Matthew and Valerie had gotten him before looking over at the unopened pack of cigarettes that Matthew had left for him.

With a sigh, Eddie hurried over towards one of the packs of beer and grabbed one of the bottles of beer before he opened it and started to down it in an attempt to calm himself down.

And then, not long after that, Eddie grabbed Matthew's backup walkman and his backup headphones and then opened it to see that one of Matthew's cassette tapes was already lying inside of it.

After letting out another sigh, he pressed play and listened to the sound of AC/DC's Hells Bells starting to play on the walkman with furrowed eyebrows and a frown on his face.

While standing in front of Nancy Wheeler, Chief Powell asked her, "And after you talked to Wayne, what happened?"

Nancy told him, "I heard barking from the dog, and then... he was just gone."

Then Officer Callahan asked her, "See anyone lurking about? You know, who looks like they shouldn't be there?"

Nancy replied, "No. No, no, t-there was nobody there."

In turn, Chief Powell said, "'Nobody'."

Then Nancy told them, "I already told this to Officer Daniels." Then she looked over at Officer Daniels and asked him, "Did you look into Victor Creel?"

Then Chief Powell asked Officer Daniels, "Sorry, what's that?"

Officer Daniels told him, "Victor Creel. Wayne got it in her head the old nut did this."

With a click of his tongue, Chief Powell said, "Victor's locked away tight, honey. You don't need to worry about him, alright? Now, you said last you saw Fred, he was by the picnic tables. Do I have that right?"

After turning her head to look over at Chief Powell, Nancy suddenly stopped when she saw a car park just behind Chief Powell's car.

And while Nancy stared at the car, Chief Powell said, "Ms. Wheeler." While Nancy watched as six people got out of the car and stared right at her, Chief Powell said to her, "He was by the picnic tables. Is that correct?"

When Nancy still didn't respond, Chief Powell said to her, "Ms. Wheeler? Does the picnic table ring a bell?"

And while Chief Powell continued to question her, Nancy did everything she could to not sigh to herself when she saw that her little brother– Matthew– was standing outside of the car with the others and his best friend, Valerie Mayfield, standing just beside him.

After silently looking between the six of them, Nancy asked, "So you're saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy, it's from the Upside Down?"

Steve replied, "If the shoe fits."

Then Dustin told her, "Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse. Now, whether or not he's doing the bidding of the Mind Flayer or just loves killing teens, we don't know."

Then Max said to her, "All we know is that this is something different. Something new."

In turn, Nancy said to them, "Doesn't make sense."

With a shake of his head, Dustin told her, "It's only a theory."

Nancy replied, "No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense. I mean, why them?"

Dustin said to her, "Maybe they were just in the wrong place. They were both at the game."

With a raise of her head, Max said, "And near the trailer park."

With a raise of his eyebrows, Steve said, "We're at the trailer park. Uh, should we maybe not be here?"

With a sigh, Matthew said to him, "Harrington, if this Vecna dude was gonna kill every single teenager that came through the trailer park at one point or another, there would more than likely be a hell of a lot more dead bodies right now."

After letting out a sigh of his own, Steve said, "I was just asking."

While Matthew only rolled his eyes at Steve, Nancy said, "There is something about this place. Fred started acting weird the second we got here."

Robin asked her, "Acting weird as in...?"

Nancy told them, "Scared, on edge, upset."

Then Dustin said, "Max said Chrissy was upset, too."

With a shake of her head, Max replied, "Yeah, but not here. She was crying in the bathroom at school."

It was then that Robin asked them, "Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike, right? So, maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this Vecman—"

In turn, Dustin said to her, "Vecna."

Then Steve said to them, "I dunno about you guys, but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to someone."

Max replied, "Maybe they did. I saw Chrissy leaving Ms. Kelley's office. If you saw a monster, you... you wouldn't go to the police. They'd never believe you. But you might go to your—"

Then Robin said, "Your shrink."

When Max had only nodded her head, the seven of them started to walk away from the table and in the direction of Steve's car.

It was only when they'd reached Steve's car that Nancy turned away from them and started to walk away, shortly before Steve said to her, "Whoa, whoa, Nance. Nance! Nance, where you going?"

After turning around to look back at Steve, Nancy told him, "Oh, there's just something I wanna check on first."

With a raise of his arms, Dustin asked her, "Something you wanna share with the rest of us?"

Nancy replied, "I don't wanna waste your time. It's a real shot in the dark."

In turn, Steve said to her, "Yeah, okay. Are you out of your mind? Flying solo with this Vecna creep on the loose? No, it's too dangerous. You need... You need someone to..."

When Nancy had only stared at him, Steve turned to the others and tossed his car keys over towards Robin as he said to her, "Here. I'll stick with Nance, alright? You guys take the car, check out the shrink."

Robin replied, "I don't think you want me driving your car."

With a shake of his head, Steve asked her, "Why?"

Robin told him, "I don't have a license."

With a nod of his head, Steve asked her, "Well, why don't you have a license?"

With a shrug of her shoulders, Robin said, "I'm poor."

Then, with a shake of her head, Max said, "I can drive."

Steve turned to Max and said to her, "No, no, never again, please. Anybody but you. No." When Dustin had only turned his head a bit, Steve said to him, "No chance."

Then Dustin said to him, "Come on."

Steve said to him, "No." Then he looked over at Valerie, who started to raise her hand, and said to her, "Not you, either."

With a shake of her head, Valerie asked him, "Why not me?"

With a scoff, Steve replied, "Do I even need to tell you why? I mean, you don't even have a car. Knowing you, you probably don't even know how to drive." Then he looked over at Matthew, who had his arms crossed over his chest, and told him, "And I'm pretty sure that you almost hit me with your car at least once or twice, so that's not happening."

With a feigned pout, Matthew asked him, "Aw, what's the matter, Harrington? You afraid of becoming a hood ornament to your own car?"

Just when Steve started to give Matthew a pointed look, he suddenly stopped when Robin said to them, "Alright, okay. This is stupid." After pulling a radio out of Dustin's hand, Robin went to hand Steve's own car keys back to him as she said, "Us ladies will stick together. Unless you think we need you to protect us."

When Steve had only nodded his head at her, Robin simply chuckled to herself as she turned her back on the five of them and walked over to Nancy's car, leaving Steve to say to them, "Be careful."

After watching Robin wave a hand at Steve, Dustin asked Steve, "You just gonna stand there and gawk?"

Steve said to him, "Shut up. Shut up and get in the car." After the two Mayfield sisters and Matthew had already gotten into the car, Steve said to Dustin, "Wipe your feet."

When Dustin moved to wipe the bottom of his shoes on the inside of Steve's car, Steve said to him, "On the outside, not the inside." As he went to put the key into the ignition, Steve said, "Always the babysitter. Always the goddamn babysitter!"

After watching Max walk into Ms. Kelley's house, Steve said, "Okay. She's in."

While Matthew only rolled his eyes at Steve and Valerie simply sighed to herself, Dustin said to Steve, "I'm missing collarbones, not eyes." When Steve had only nodded to himself, Dustin asked him, "So, we gonna talk about... it?"

In turn, Steve turned to look over at Dustin and asked him, "Huh? Sorry, talk about what?"

With a nod of his head, Dustin said, "Your temporary insanity earlier today when you basically threw yourself at Nance?"

Steve replied, "Okay, first of all, that's not what happened, okay?"

With a nod of his head, Dusitn said to him, "Pretty sure that's what happened. It was pretty public. There were, like, a lot of witnesses."
