already know what feeling like an outsider felt like, she would have felt completely on edge as she spent her train ride to Hogwarts with a group of tightly-knit Ravenclaws. But her whole life before Hogwarts was one of being a total outsider to the rest of the world, outside of her little room she had just hours beforehand said goodbye to in Squires. Thus, she could tolerate feeling isolated from the majority of the group in the Ravenclaw compartment.
Even though she felt isolated from the group as a whole, she didn't feel isolated from Olly. Staying true to his promise, he talked her through his notebook for what must have lasted for over an hour. With Terry, Lisa and Padma sitting on the otherside of the compartment, he could essentially show it to her in private, which greatly irritated Terry and Lisa.
"I've been his best friend since day dot and he hasn't shown it to me," Terry said to the other two girls loudly, interuptting Olly describing a day back in December when he and Padma ventured to a secluded area of greenery a mile or so away from the castle, where he found the strangest looking toad like creature which he had drawn in detail.
"That's just a lie," Olly replied faintly, keeping his eyes on his drawings. "I've shown you loads of them, I just haven't talked to you about them. Anyway, it's not like they're even any good, I just like the stories I have with them all,"
"I think they're brilliant," said Saffron breathlessly, staring down at the toad's bulging eyes in admiartion.
"It's a work in progress," Olly told her honestly. "I'm working on making them move, but Miss Davies said it takes a lot of time,"
He flicked over the page to find a picture of what Saffron assumed to be a self portatit.

"So that's you?" She meant for it to be a rhetorical question but Olly answered it for that wasn't the case.
"No, it's my little brother Locklan,"
Saffron clapped her hand to her forehead. "Of course, the one you wrote to---"
"Every day," Olly finished for her with a small laugh. "Yeah, he's basically my best friend,"
"And my favorite person," added Padma, looking up from the game of exploding snap that she Lisa and Terry had engrossed themselves in.
"You've only met him once," Olly arched an eyebrow at her.
"That just shows how adorable he is,"
"He was so funny," added Lisa. "He wouldn't let go of you when he saw you,"
"I would have thought you two were conjoined or something," remarked Terry, before whooping triaumphantly at winning a hand of the card game.
"I get the best friend thing, I'm close with my siblings too," Saffron told him earnestly. With those words, she went back to thinking about Rachel and Rowan. Were they okay? Had they found anybody to sit with? Was anybody giving them any trouble? She gulped as she knew that even looking for the answers to those questions would be to chagrin of the twins.
"Maya is your sister, right?" Terry asked swiftly, not giving Olly the opportunity to address the statement.
Saffron nodded in his direction, feeling absolutely certain that he knew the answer. "Yeah, but I have a younger brother and sister too. They're starting this year, actually,"
"Are they really nervous?" questioned Lisa.
"Mostly about not being with me or Maya," Saffron told her.
"Well, they'll be well looked after if they come to Ravenclaw," Padma offered Saffron a bright smile, as she seemed to always do. "If they're anything like me and Parvati, they might actually want to be seperated,"

Saffron laughed. "I think a part of them wants that, but another doesn't. It's . . . "
"Complicated?"
"Yeah," agreed Saffron. "Complicated," She turned to Olly. "When will your brother start?"
"Not until we're in fourth year," replied Olly, scratching his hair absently for a moment. "He's counting down the days already,"
"I don't blame him," chuckled Saffron, looking down at the drawing again. "He looks just like you,"
"We call him mini Olly," Terry said loudly, whilst Lisa dealt out a new hand of cards.
When Saffron looked up at Olly, she saw that he had gone red in the face. She wasn't sure when exactly the blush had occured, but for whatever reason he was embarassed by something. She figured it was about how Terry was acting, but she couldn't be too sure. Perhaps Terry always was stand-offish to newcomers.
"Oh, this'll be a good one to look at, not tell the story though since you already know it," Olly seemed to notice Saffron staring at him and hasitly propelled the conversation forwards. He lifted the notebook up and clutched it tightly to his chest. He flicked several pages forwards, still being somewhat secretive of some pages for whatever reason, until he landed on a scene that Saffron knew all too well.
Under a glimmering moonlight, a bright telescope stood out amongst the charcol, with three bodies belonging to three people in the compartment at that very moment also on the page. It was a reinactment of that dramatic night in the owlery at the end of their first term in the school. That night had been replayed over and over again in Saffron's mind that she felt she could easily recite percisely what happened. Olly caputred it perfectly on the page. His body hanging out under the railings, Saffron close by hanging onto him and Padma with a horror-struck expression present on her face and her wand arm outstretched to save the telescope.
"Wow," said an impressed Saffron, examining the picture closely. She looked up at Olly. "This is . . . I don't even know how to describe it, you're so good,"
"Well, I might be sort of smart with drawing, but I'm stupid with everything else, so . . . "
"I don't think that's true," said Saffron firmly.
"It is," said Olly, equally as firm.
"Once thing you'll learn about Olly is that he likes to insult himself," Terry said, not looking up from the fiery game of exploding snap that was heating up to a thrilling conclusion. "All .. . the . . time AHA!" He yelled the last part as he had beaten Padma and Lisa in yet another hand.
"I want a rematch," exclaimed Lisa, groaning at her loss.
"Deal me in too," said Padma, who too seemed forlorn.
Saffron turned back to Olly, who was looking back at the picture again.
"I think you have a real talent with this," Saffron assured him honestly. She related to his self-depricating nature. Subconciously, she did it to herself all the time. It was human nature after all. To obsess over the any flaw, to the point where oftentimes it can percieved to be your defining feature. "Really, I've never seen anybody do something like this,"
"You should come to the art club then," Olly told her rather emotionlessly. "Everyone is amazing there,"
Saffron shook her head. "No, I don't think I need to, I think I've seen the best drawings I could see here,"
She saw him blush this time.
