"I asked you one simple question, Trey," Zayn snapped, "I asked for accurate numbers and the plan with my store in DC now, how is it doing?"
"Mr. Malik, the store in D.C. is not returning my calls," Trey Henderson replied calmly.
"And why not?"
"I don't know."
Zayn huffed, sitting at the head of the table and rubbing his forehead. Him and Trey were really good friends, so it was easier for him to calm down than it was with anyone else.
"Andrea, how are the sales there going?"
"They're great, higher than you expected," she replied.
"Okay, um," he looked at a few papers in front of him, "ba -- Crissle, see when I'm free this Saturday or the next and book a flight to DC. If they don't answer to my workers, they'll now answer to me."
Crissle nodded, typing away on her iPad. "Private jet?"
"No, not this time, uh. First class."
"Are you okay, sir?" Trey asked skeptically, "you don't look so--"
"I'm fine," he replied dismissively, "uh, can we pick this up later? Yeah, okay, I'll see you guys in a few," he ran a hand through his hair and got up, briskly leaving the room and everyone confused.
"What the fuck was that?" Andrea looked at Crissle, "what's with him?"
"I have no clue," she watched the other employees leave the room, except for Trey, "should I check up on him?"
"Probably not now," he replied smoothly, "he might need some alone time. Even from his girlfriend."
"He's not my--"
"I beg to differ," Andrea stood, "Trey? Lunch?"
"Alright," he smiled, hooking his arm in hers as they walked out of the conference room. Crissle stood up with a sigh and sorted out the papers Zayn left, paper clipping and filing them in a folder she had to later prioritize in her cubicle. She closed the door behind her and went over to her workspace to sit down.

Crissle wondered what was bothering Zayn, but she didn't want to annoy him in anyway. He looked nervous, a little distraught, maybe somber. She'd never seen him so...flustered the whole time she had been working here.
She really wanted to know what was wrong, so, she got up and cracked Zayn's door open. He was pacing back and forth across his office, biting his lip with his hands in his pockets. His head was down and he didn't even look up when the door closed and Crissle was finally in the room with him.
"Zayn?"
His pacing didn't falter and Crissle sighed, walking around him and sitting on his desk. She crossed her legs and watched him walk back and forth, deep in thought.
"Zayn " she got up and stopped him, he flinched and balled his fists up. She frowned "what's with you?"
"Nothing," he snapped but quickly composed himself, "I'm sorry, baby. You're the last person I want to make angry."
"I'm not angry--"
"You will be."
"For what?" he was about to pace again but she stopped him, "no, no. Talk to me, Zayn."
"My mum," he huffed, running a hand over his face, "she wants to meet you."
"Why?" Crissle asked in surprise.
"Some shit about me not shutting up about you," he shook his head and folded his arms, "I do not--"
"You talk about me?" she grinned, "outside the office?"
"Of course I do," he said as if Crissle wasn't bursting with eternal happiness, "you're worth talking about."
"I am?"
"Yea, Criss."
"Seriously--"
"Babe," he chuckled, "come on, I thought it was obvious I'm smitten over you."
"Uh, no?" she replied, "I just thought we--"

"I tried making it obvious," he retorted, leaning against the desk, "well, if you didn't know, I am."
"Really?" she had to ask again for good measure.
"Yes, Crissle," Zayn laughed lightly, "girl, you drive me crazy, but I can't help but wanna be with you all the time."
"Really--"
"Say really one more time," he threatened playfully. He leaned down and kissed her nose.
"Yes." she hummed.
"Yes what?"
"Yes. I'll meet your mom."
"Really?" he asked in surprise.
"Say really one more time," she repeated his earlier words, causing him to grin, "yes, Zayn. I've got to meet the woman who birthed you and thank her."
Zayn snorted, pushing his forehead to hers and grinning. "Get back to work, Ms. Sinclair."
"Why, of course, Mr. Malik," she murmured against his lips sexily, "anything for you."
He laughed nervously, meeting her halfway and kissing her softly. A low moan escaped his throat when she pulled at his hair.
"Criss--" Zayn was cut off by a knocking on the door. He sighed, moving to sit at his desk while Crissle hopped down and walked to the door.
"Hey, Criss," Trey greeted her before walking ahead towards Zayn, "Zayn, I got the DC store on the phone and they said something is wrong with the circuitry in the building."
"What? He asked in confusion. Crissle went to sit down. "They can't call a maintenance man by themselves?"
"Apparently not--"
"Mr. Malik, the store in Florida just called here," Andrea walked in, closing the door behind her.
"And?"
"There's terrible flooding on the coast, and plenty damages to the store."
Zayn groaned. "Ah, okay. Trey, don't call them back because I'm still going."
"Got it," he nodded.
"And Crissle," he looked at me, a smile in his eyes, "contact the store in Florida and get specific details on the damages and arrange a plan where they still get paid while fixing up the place."
"Okay," she replied.
"I think that's it -- why the fuck is everything falling apart?"
"Nothings really so bad, Zayn," Andrea said quietly.
"Yeah, what's wrong, today, man?" Trey added, "is it your girlfriend?"
Trey.
"No, Crissle's fine," he said absentmindedly, shuffling through the papers. "Wait, wait, shit," he looked at her, "was I supposed to say that?"
"I don't know," she shrugged but was honestly flattered by how quickly Zayn responded to Trey's question.
"You don't know?" Zayn repeated with raised eyebrows, "what does that--"
"Crissle, you're supposed to say yes," Andrea groaned, "have I taught you nothing?"
"I am? And no, you didn't teach me anything, you bitch."
"Ooh, verbal harassment in the workplace I'm taking it to the boss. Oh, wait, I forgot, you're sucking his dick," she grinned.
"Exactly, so I suggest you straighten up before I report you."
Zayn snorted.
Andrea laughed loudly, while Trey just smirked. "I didn't expect you to say that."
"Expect the unexpected."

City of Champions Online
Having found the tragic truth that an art degree is worth less than the paper it is printed on, Jacquelyn Jones is frustrated with her dead end work as a graphic designer for a marketing firm, finding new ways to try and convince people that this week's 50 cent off sale is actually worth driving to the store. She's tried other VRMMORPGs, but they've all been fantasy-based, with a couple sci-fi games thrown in. But she wants something more, something Super. Superhero VRMMOs have had a... subpar reception in the past, in part due to the fact that the nature of most MMOs makes for fairly unheroic tales. After the couple hundredth time blasting the same group of mooks from the same faction on the same street corner of the same city, using the same powerset as everyone else because you only have a few options, it is hard to think of yourself as a hero anymore. But then she heard about City of Champions Online. For the first time, a developer partnered with a tabletop RPG maker to use their system to create a VRMMORPG, and it was one of the systems designed to be used with superhero games! And despite the name, there was no getting stuck in the same city as all the other players. The game world was a detailed replica of the real world, down to having some of the same shops and restaurants in town. She could be whoever she wanted, whatever she wanted. Now, she just has to find a way to become the heroine she's always wanted to be.

It is a story about a man who wanted to move on from living as he had done everything he wanted to ccomplish, but instead of meeting his end he became God of his own world, his own sandbox.
