《Chosen (Lloyd X Reader)》Never Trust A Snake

They say that Destiny runs deep in Ninjago history. It's entwined with every person, everything, and time. No matter what you can do, it'll always find you. It may seem like Destiny doesn't have plans for you, but in reality, they are much bigger than they seem. Once you're entwined deeply with Destiny, you are trapped in it, with the only way of getting is by pleasing it. By following what you were meant to do. But, the road to the end is long and winding with many challenges and hardships.

Ever since the meltdown, I've been just trying to keep myself in check so I don't lose myself again. Luckily, today, it's group training day and I'm helping Sensei train the four so that'll help me clear my mind. Hopefully. Besides, training is always fun especially when I get to train the four idiots. Let's just say I'm intense.

So now, I'm waiting on the deck with Sensei Wu for them to come up. Sensei and I haven't talked about my outburst, which has made me a bit nervous to teach with him, but I hope we never have to talk about it. I hesitate a moment before speaking, "They always take it so long to wake up in the morning."

The old man chuckles, "That's teenagers for you. Reminds me of when Garmadon and I were teenagers. He hated waking up so early. Heh, he would always complain saying it was too early and that training can wait."

I giggle at the thought that the evil Lord Garmadon not being a morning person. "Never thought the evilest person in all of Ninjago not being a morning person."

Before we continue on with our conversation, we hear the familiar talking of the boys. They get into a line as I see Zane sluggishly follow behind his brothers. That's strange. I've never seen Zane act like this before. Then again, it must be one of those days where you just feel off. I hope he's okay.

"Glad to see you all up now! Took you long enough heh," I say smiling.

Cole grumbles at my happy attitude. "It's too early for this y/n."

"Oh right, it's y/n's time to train us," Zane says disappointedly.

"Not my fault you guys stay up so late.~"

"Teacher's pet," Kai mumbles annoyed.

I hear Kai as I glare at him. Oh, he's going to regret that during training. Sensei coughs, gaining my attention. Right. Control. I decide to use these few moments to sit on the floor to meditate for a few moments before we get started. Meditating has really helped me take control of my emotions, but it gets... tedious at time. I'm happy I only do it for a few moments and not the entire day.

Kai turns his attention to Zane, seeing he's still a bit sluggish. "Hehe, little slow today, huh? What exactly did you dream about?"

"I saw the Falcon again," Zane says.

Jay's eyes widen at his response. "Whoa. Zane, every time you see that bird, something big happens. First, it leads you to the treehouse."

"Then it leads you to the Bounty," Cole adds.

I overhear their conversation, and I am a bit curious about this dream he had. The falcon is just so mysterious and you never know what fortune it might bring! It just comes and goes whenever it wants really.

Sensei Wu coughs once more, gaining all of over attention. Right, class heh. "All right. Stretches. First, the Swooping Crane."

I stand up as Sensei and I turn around to do the stretches with everyone. But, as we're stretching, the boys are doing less concentrating and more talking. Well, whispering to them but they're loud.

I decide to listen in while we stretch. Stretching in silence sucks.

"This time, it showed me the Green Ninja," Zane says.

That's when the three boys are shocked, quickly turning to Zane. "The Green Ninja?!"

We look back at the boys, seeing them all in completely various poses. I facepalm mentally as Sensei sighs, "That looks like the Shocked Monkey. Bad form, more focus." We turn back around to continue on.

I thought ninja were meant to be quiet. Not so damn loud!

The boys continue on, Jay turns to Zane, trying to keep his voice quiet. "You can't just drop a bomb like that. Spill the beans."

"Yeah, what else did you see?" Kai asks curiously.

"He was fighting Lord Garmadon," Zane responds.

"That's what the prophecy said. That the Green Ninja would defeat the Dark Lord. But did you have a chance to see which one of us was him?"

Cole and Jay agreeing with Kai. Sigh, they sure love being nosy about this Green Ninja business. At least it's keeping me entertained.

Zane shakes his head disappointedly. "I could not tell. He shared attributes each of us possesses."

"Now, Pinching Crab," Sensei Wu says as we all change our poses. Even with their attempts at whispering, they are getting louder and louder.

Kai whispers more loudly, at this point it's just talking. "Well, tell us everything. And don't spare any details. There has to be a clue that tells us which one of us is gonna be the Green Nin-" Sensei Wu stops stretching and walks over to the red ninja as he pulls on his hair rather harshly. "Ow, ow, ow! Hey!"

I laugh at Kai, trying so hard to hold it back but failing miserably. Kai gives me a glare before turning to Sense Wu, knowing he was in trouble.

"What was so important to ignore my teachings?"

"Uh, nothing," Kai responds hesitantly.

"It was nothing, Sensei." Jay agrees.

Cole and Zane agree with them and I gotta say, they suck at lying. I sigh knowing that Sensei is about to give Kai a punishment for talking during his lesson. Deserves it for talking when he shouldn't have.

"Since you all appear to be lacking in focus, then you can all share in the punishment," Sensei Wu says smiling.

I start to laugh loudly hearing that they're all going to get punished. This day just keeps getting better and better! Who cares about training anymore?! This is so much better! I swear I can feel my stomach about to burst as the boys glares at me.

Kai very angry now, "What?!"

"Punishment?!" Jay shouts out in horror.

"It was all Zane!" Cole throwing Zane under the bus.

"I was merely answering their questions!" Zane says defending himself.

"No free time and no video games. The rest of the day can be used for training. And tomorrow, for that matter. And, because this was a team effort. That means y/n is also sharing in on your punishment. She'll only be allowed to meditate."

"What!?" I scream in horror.

These idiots got me punishment time too... I'm going to kill them all! Just wait until we're alone boys. You're all dead!

Some of them snicker as I glare at them as they turn away pretending they were doing no such thing.

"Training? For how long?" Kai asks, hoping it won't be for long.

"Until you can answer this simple riddle: what is the best way to defeat an enemy? And, y/n cannot help you with this. She already knows the answer after experiencing this lesson a few years ago."

"What?! No! These idiots are never going to get it! Smith, you're dead for talking so damn loud!" I run over to Kai and start pulling on his hair. "What have you done?!"

Kai tries to pull me off, shouting in pain, "Gah! Get off of me! Guys! Help me!"

I'm pulled off from him by Zane, trying to calm me down but not without pulling out some hair. "You'll pay for this Smith! You'll pay! Argh!"

"I'm sorry y/n. It's the only way they can learn. Do you four have any current answers?"

Kai makes sure to stand far away from the both of us, "Easy, with a sword."

"Your fists?" Jay says confused.

Cole responds with confidence, "Spinjitzu."

Zane holds onto me tightly, responding, "Tornado of Creation?"

What are they thinking?! Even I wasn't that dumb! Oh my Spinjitzu!

Sensei Wu sighs, shaking his head in disappointment. "Pace yourselves. You have a lot of training ahead of you. Make sure you sharpen your mind as well as your Spinjitzu." The old man then walks away.

"Ugh. What's the best way to defeat an enemy? It could be anything, ugh!" The black ninja shouts out in frustration.

Jay tries to be positive in this rather... "unfair" situation. "Come on, guys, we're smart. We can figure this out!"

Kai goes to "train" but the minute he sees Sensei Wu shut the doors, he turns to Zane. "Yeah, but let's hear more about this dream."

"Let me just say, the Green Ninja is awesome," Zane says infatuated with his dream, and well, because of his infatuation, his grip loosened.

Big mistake.

I quickly push the white ninja away and jump towards Kai with pure anger. "You idiot! I'm going to kill you!"

"Y/n! No!!!"

~

"...with his fist on fire." Zane says finishing his story.

"Woah." The boys are in astonishment over the dream while I'm just bored by it.

"It's just a dream guys. A dream! It's nothing special."

Kai clearing ignores my complaint, feeling the excitement in his gut. "So I'm the Green Ninja."

"Oh dear Spinjitzu no."

"What are you talking about? He had incredible strength to lift that cargo and save his life. It's me," Cole argues.

"Damn it... It's starting. Just end my suffering now!"

"No, no. Did you miss the part of the story where the guy pulled out nunchucks? I have nunchucks!" Jay shouts out.

"I think you're all missing the point of this dream. The point is the Falcon flew on his arm and it was my dream, so naturally, it's me." Zane says, trying to prove he's actually the green ninja.

"Oh, my Spinjitzu! I'm going back to meditating! You guys are useless!" I throw my hands up in the air as I walk away from them very much annoyed. I sit down, close my eyes, and try to tune out my idiot brothers. Meditate. Meditate. Meditate. Block them out. They- Damn it.

"I think we can cross Cole off the list. I could've lifted ten times—" Jay's interrupted by Cole.

"Whoa, cross me off the list? Anyone can hold nunchucks!"

Sensei Wu approaches the group, noticing they aren't training. "Since you are not training, you must have already found the answer to my riddle. What is the best way to defeat your enemy?"

"Uh, the best way to defeat your enemy is to...train, Sensei?" Kai says, not even completely confident in his answer.

I love them, but listening to them trying to solve this riddle hurts.

Sensei Wu hits Kai over the head with his staff. "Feeble and incorrect. Maybe more training will help you focus. Remember what happened to your vehicles when you lost focus. A razor-sharp weapon is an extension of a razor-sharp mind. Take a page out of y/n's book. She became the ninja she was because she didn't lose focus over things like this. She did solve it in a few hours."

He soon walks away as all the boys groan in annoyance.

"Teacher's pet. She solved in a few hours." Kai says in a mocking tone.

I throw my fan at Kai, hitting him right in the forehead as I go back to meditating. "Keep talking Kai and I'm going to pull out more hair."

The boy growls in anger while the rest simply chuckle. Kai turns to them in anger as they all turn away pretending they did no laughing at all.

Jay finally turns his attention back to what's more "important." "How am I supposed to focus when we don't know who the Green Ninja is?!"

"I don't want to be training all day. Let's work together on this riddle. We can figure it out." Cole said hopefully.

"Can't you just tell us y/n? We promise not to tell," Jay begs. "Please?"

"I'm not betraying Sensei Wu. You, idiots, are going to have to do this on your own."

~

I meditate for a few more hours as everyone continues on training. I hear their grunts, getting more and more annoyed at the fact that they can't stop.

"Anyone got a solution to Sensei's riddle?" Cole asks wiping off the sweat from his forehead.

"It can't be that hard. What's the best way to defeat an enemy?" Jay responds.

Kai turns to the white ninja, "Zane, you're smart. What is it?"

"I do not know, but I sense that Sensei is going to keep us here if we don't work together and find an answer," Zane responds disappointedly.

Cole sighs, "That bothers me because while we're here working, that means the enemy is playing. Come on, y/n. Please tell us the answer!"

"Leave me alone while I... enjoy meditation," I say sneeringly. Oh, how tempted I am to just tell them.

~

After spending the entire day doing "evil" things, Lloyd was more than tired. But enjoyed everything nonetheless because he was enjoying it with his new evil henchmen who got him a ton of candy. Of course, he opened another tomb, but inside, was a singular snake. Pythor, the last survivor of the Anacondrai Snake Tribe. But, the most conniving of them all as well.

They both entered the tomb, dropping the candy on the ground, getting ready to head to bed. It was certainly a good day for one of them.

"Wow, you're the best henchman a mastermind could ever have!" Lloyd shouts out in pure happiness, finally getting the results he has.

Pythor rolls his eyes, appealing to the young boy's side. If he wants that map, he's going to make the brat happy. The map does lead him to the other Serpentine tombs after all. "Oh, Lloyd. You're the best mastermind a henchman could ever have." Lloyd chuckles. "Hmm, why is it that you have no friends?"

"Well, I could've had friends back at my Boarding School for Bad Boys, but I decided to run away and never let them see me again," Lloyd says, trying to avoid the subject and decides to laugh "evilly." It was a bit of a touchy subject for him.

The large, purple snake was now curious. Sure he didn't care about how the boy felt, but that doesn't mean he can't be curious about stuff like this. In the end, it won't matter to him, might as well get some useful information if Lloyd even has any. "Really? Uh, why would you run away from making friends? Everybody needs friends, even tyrants."

"Well, uh, maybe I didn't run away. Maybe I uh, I got kicked out," Lloyd says hesitantly.

"From the Boarding School for Bad Boys? I don't believe it. I hear they are the breeding ground for the truly despicable. And if you ask me, ho-ho, you are a handful." Now Pythor was appealing to his good side. Or the evil side. Whatever side is which.

Lloyd smiles at his... compliment. He hesitates for a moment before telling him what happened. "Well, thank you, Pythor, but they told me I wasn't bad enough. They said I lacked the amoral ambition to be one of tomorrow's masterminds." He thinks for a moment before realizing something. "Actually... I almost had a friend... But we got into a fight. I think she hates me now though."

"Oh? What happened between you?"

"You see Pythor. She's actually a ninja, a-and she was the only one who was ever nice to me. But, we had a fight in our last meeting. She said what I was doing was wrong but she's wrong for being a ninja! And... I kinda sorta let her fall off a mountain of trash..." He says a bit nervously and regretfully.

Pythor simply laughs rather evilly, making the young boy a bit nervous. "You shouldn't feel regretful over that! That's simply amazing! After all, the more the ninja is out of the picture, the easier it'll be for you to take over the world. I say she deserved it! And you'll show those terrible boys from your old school too!"

Lloyd decides to push back his feelings down deep into his gut, feeling hopeful for his evil future. "That's right! I will show them!"

"Then why don't we?"

"Uh, why don't we what?"

"Let's get revenge on the very school that rejected you. And when the ninja come to the rescue, we'll have a trap laid out for them."

"A double revenge?"

"A double revenge. Get some rest. Hijacking an ice cream truck is a lot for anyone, and if you're going to rule the world, well, ho-ho-ho, you'll need to get your sleep. Oh, and one more thing."

"Yes?"

"I'll be your friend."

Lloyd smiles at the comment, feeling happy to have a real friend.

Friend...

He shakes his before yawning and embraces the snake. "Oh, Pythor. You're the best." The snake never hugs him back.

Lloyd begins to drift into a sleep slumber as he lays down on the ground. The moment Pythor hears his soft snores, he laughs. He reaches for a map that the child has in his pocket, but he turns away before the snake could grab it. Pythor hisses in anger, trying to figure out a plan. An idea pops into his mind as he smiles. "If I can't get it the easy way, then I'll get it through another way."

~

We all walk to Sensei's room, the boys feeling super confident that they solved the riddle. I sigh as they discuss their plans after they are done with their punishment. I gotta say, their confidence never lacks. But, unfortunately, so does their stupidity. "Good luck you guys," I say trying to sound hopeful.

We enter the room as Sensei turns his attention to us.

"Oh. You must have found the answer to what is the best way to defeat an enemy," Wu says skeptically.

Cole smiles as he looks at his brothers. "We have, Sensei. It's—On three, guys. One, two..."

"Teamwork!"

"Is this what you all think?" Sensei Wu asks.

All the Ninja agree, feeling happy that they think they got it right.

"No."

"Sadly, you are all wrong," He says disappointedly.

"Come on." Cole groans in annoyance as Kai does as well.

"Aw, man," Jay says disappointed.

Cole sighs. "I'm starting to think whoever figures out this riddle can be the Green Ninja for all I care."

"You guys still care about that? I'm just tired of meditating at this point-" But, before I get to continue, the alarm starts blaring loudly. We all run to the bridge, wondering what's happening.

"What's that?" Jay asks, looking at the map with alarm signs on it.

"Who cares? It's something else besides training. Break it down for me, sis," Kai asks Nya.

"Lloyd and the Serpentine have overtaken Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys."

"That place is a cesspool for the crooked and the misbehaved," Jay sighs.

"Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys? Isn't that the same place where Lloyd went to school?"

"Yup and they need our help. So it doesn't mean they don't need our help. Step on it." Cole says to Zane.

Zane slams the red button, the bounty at full speed heading to the school, and almost making us fall to the ground.

"Ninja, go!" We all shout out.

~

Lloyd and Pythor are skating down the hallways of the school, glancing around the rooms, seeing all the teachers and students tied up.

Lloyd turns to Pythor, "Hey, how are the booby traps?"

"Every door, window, and hole into this place are spring-loaded." The snake says confidently.

"Ah, good. I'm sick and tired of those ninjas sneaking their way into my evil doings."

~

We finally manage to arrive at the school as we float about it.

"Looks quiet down there. Should we infiltrate using stealth?" Zane asks.

Kai sighs, "Ah, we've done that. What about using our Golden Weapons that turn into our vehicles?"

Cole works on his golden vehicle, "I'm still working out the kinks on that. Anyone have any other good ideas?"

"Why don't we just jump down?"

"That would be unwise as we would break our bones," Zane says.

"I don't hear anyone else coming up with ideas!"

Jay smiles as an idea forms in his mind. "Hmm. Well, I have one idea, but you guys gotta trust me."

"Oh, I don't think I like the sound of this." Kai sighs a bit nervous.

"I gotta agree with you on that."
