《Chosen (Lloyd X Reader)》Snakebit

I wake up slowly, seeing the ceiling of an unfamiliar room. I start to panic, looking around the room frantically before calming down. Wait this- Oooh right. The Monastery was burned down... I shake my head. It's a bit old, but this ship is pretty nice. The Destiny's Bounty, right? Anyway, I'm just happy we have a roof over our heads.

I yawn, getting out of bed to stretch. Good thing I fell asleep early, unlike my brothers. They stayed up so late last night, I woke up to them still talking about how cool the place is. Spinjitzu, they're loud. At least I won't have a rude wake-up call by Sensei Wu, who's probably going to make us clean this place up.

I grab my gi that's at the end of my bed, using Spinjitzu to change myself into it. my pajamas are now sprawled all over the floor. Then, I start brushing my hair, my mind wandering to my thoughts once more. Glad we got some essentials last night, no way was I going to sleep in my gi. Way too sweaty and uncomfortable to sleep in. Speaking of uncomfortable... Lloyd looked... uncomfortable being trapped in that cage... I stop brushing my hair. Lloyd... If only I could've stopped them from betraying him... I hope you're doing alright... Where ever you are...

I sigh, knowing that whatever happened to him, it probably wasn't good. I shake my head, deciding to worry about the bigger problem at hand: Cleaning up this place. I quickly fix my hair, hearing Sensei Wu's familiar footsteps walking down the hallway. I head over to the door and swing it open, beating the old man to it. "Good Morning, Sensei Wu." I bow to him.

He's surprised to see me up but simply smiles. "Well good morning to you too, y/n. Glad to see you are up."

"Of course Sensei. I wouldn't dare stay up late knowing we have a big day ahead of us the next, unlike my brothers. Now, can we wake them up? They deserve it for staying up late."

He smiles as he hands me the gong, "Why of course."

~

I kick open the door to their room, banging the gong loudly as Sensei and I walk in. Sensei shouts out to them, "Evil doesn't sleep and neither should you!"

The ninja groans in annoyance. I regret nothing hehe. I smile evilly.

"In order to reach your full potential, we must greet each day as an opportunity."

"Okay okay, we're up. But if you want us to reach full potential, shouldn't we at least get a full night of rest?" Kai yawns, getting up from his bed.

I smirk at him. "That's what you get for staying up so late." I stick my tongue out to him.

Kai glares at me as he sticks his tongue out back to me

Cole stretches, then rubs his back. "You call that a rest? I think my back had more lumps than the mattress."

"We were up so late, talking about how cool it is to have a new headquarters, I guess we lost track of time. Since the Monastery burned down our, I'm just glad we have a roof over our head..." Jay says walking over to their bathroom. H puts his toothbrush under the faucet, turning on the "water," sand falling onto the toothpaste. Him being too tired to notice brushes his teeth with sand and quickly spits it out. "Gah! Gross!"

I snicker as Jay just turns around and glares at me.

"What is our lesson today, Sensei? Mastering the strike of the Scorpion? Or perhaps the grace of—" Zane does some fighting moves, but floor can't handle his weight. It soon breaks, causing him to fall halfway through the floor.

I watch my brothers help Zane out of the hole as I sight, "This place really needs to be fixed up."

Sensei Wu looks around the room, knowing that the Bounty isn't ready to be called home just yet. "I think today's lesson would be chores."

"Chores?!" They all shout out in horror.

"Ninja fight, Sensei. They do not clean," Cole says, annoyed at the fact they have to soon. And they say I'm the kid. Sigh.

"In order to respect ourselves, we must respect our new home and where we are from. And this place is a long way from becoming a ninja headquarters. I expect things to be spotless when I return. And put your backs into it." Sensei Wu says before leaving the room.

"Sensei Wu is right, we gotta fix this place up. Any good home is always clean, just like our... Monastery and now the Bounty as well."

"You shouldn't be so happy about cleaning up this place. It's huge!" Cole says with an annoyed groan.

"This place is gonna take forever to clean and fix up," Kai grumbles.

Jay suddenly comes up with an idea, smirking, "Unless we put more than our backs into it, huh?"

~

First up, Cole.

"Ninja! Go!" Cole uses his Spinjitzu to quickly clean up all the junk that was left behind, leaving the room spotless. He does the same thing to every room, bringing all the trash outside.

Remove the junk. Check.

~

Next, Kai and Zane.

The two are getting ready to clean up the rooms, deciding to tackle the largest room first. Zane throws his shurikens to the end of the room, completely freezing it. Kai then takes out his sword, using it to melt the ice away, and finally uses Spinjitzu to clean everything up. They repeat the process throughout every room.

Clean the ship. Check.

~

Then, Jay.

He brought some tech onto the ship, hoping to upgrade everything. Though, Jay doesn't really know how to turn it on. After all, there's no ON button. So Jay just shrugs and takes out his nunchucks, shocking the tech into commission.

Upgrading the Bounty. Check.

~

And, finally, me.

I bring in some items to decorate the ship with. After all, no home is truly home without something to make it feel a bit homier. I use Spinjitzu to quickly decorate every room with something that represents us. I smile at my results.

Decorating every room. Check.

The Destiny's Bounty is now ready to set sail!

~

I find myself in a very similar situation, watching the ninjas play their video games on their new game console and TV. Jeez, I really need to do something else than just watch them play... How did we even afford all of this?! I think to myself sighing.

Soon, the door is opened, causing the boys to pause their game and turn to the people at the door. "Glad to see you both back!" I say smiling at Nya and Sensei Wu.

Kai smiles, "What took you so long?"

"Wow, This place looks amazing! You guys did all this?" Nya is surprised by everything, especially the short time it took to finish everything.

"Ninja don't just fight, Nya. We clean." Cole definitely singing a different tune than earlier.

"Oh, you have exceeded my expectations..." Sensei Wu says smiling. We then all hear a very loud car honking outside the ship. We're all surprised by it. How did they even find this place? Who even are they? And did they track us or something??? " ...but can you keep it up?"

We all look out the window, seeing a car pulling up to the side of the Bounty. Nya surprised by how loud they can be, "Looks like we're about have some visitors, and loud ones at that."

Jay recognizes the car, groaning in annoyance, "Ugh...It's my parents. Please, if they start yapping, just don't let them keep going, okay? They don't know when to quit. And if you start talking then they'll start talking, and suddenly half the day is gone before you know it ends..."

Kai interrupts Jay, "We get it, they talk a lot... The cherry doesn't fall far from its blossom." Mumbling the last part. I elbow Kai harshly in the gut as I smile. He glares at me, but before he gets to do anything, we're all heading outside sooo ha! Suck it, Kai!

~

"Oh, heh. Take a note, Edna. Either better brakes or a better bumper... Oh, will you look at all this great stuff? They can't just get rid of it. We should have brought the trailer, Edna." A man says to his wife, looking to be in his late 50's.

"This ain't a flea market, Ed. We're here for Jay." The woman presumably named Edna responds to her husband, Ed.

Ed, too enraptured in his thinking, didn't hear what his wife said. "What was that? Did you take a note?"

"I'm writing it down, Ed," Edna says sighing, scribbling it down in a little notebook.

We hear their banter from the ship, all of us walking off of it to greet them. I stay in the back, feeling nervous and excited to meet them. I've never met any of the ninja's parents, I wonder what this will be like!

Jay walks over to his parents, acting happy. "Mom! Dad! What are you doing here?" He was clearly not expecting them to come.

"Oh, look! It's my baby boy! It's been so long since we heard from you!" Edna says, embracing her child.

It must be nice being able to see your parents...

"Ma, I called you two days ago," Jay says pushing her away a bit.

"Oh well... It's not soon enough, son. When are you coming out to the Junkyard? You say you are coming an..an..and you don't," Ed says a bit disappointed.

Aw, that's so sweet. They really do love their son.

"Dad...do we have to talk about the Junkyard in front of my friends?" Jay is red from embarrassment.

"He hates it when we tell people he was born in a junkyard," Edna tells the team, noticing Nya. "Oh... and who are you? You are so cute! You are just my son's type."

"Mom!"

"It's a pleasure of meeting you. I'm sure if you want, Jay can give you a tour. He worked very hard on it," Nya says smiling.

"We'd love a tour!" The two parents shout out happily.

Jay sighs as everyone walks back onto the ship. I watch everyone pass by me, but before I manage to hide within the group, I'm spotted by Edna as she picks me up. "Oh, and who is this cutie?"

I stare at her for a moment. "Hello!"

"Oh, that's y/n. She's our little sister, who can take us down at any moment she wishes," Jay says as all the ninjas agree with his statement. "It's true! I have been training in Spinjitzu since I was 9!"

Edna smiles as everyone walks on ahead, continuing the tour. "Oh sweetie, I know you've been through a lot. I can see it in your eyes, just like..." She shakes her head. "You know that you're a child and sometimes act like it, but when your brothers say that you're just a kid in serious situations, you feel angry, don't you? After all, you're very capable of taking care of yourself without their help. Am I right?"

I just stare at Edna with wide eyes, "How did you-"

"Know? Sweetie, I'm a mother. I know these types of things after all. But, don't worry, things will get easier eventually."

I just stare at her as we join the others. We continue on, but I can't focus on anything that Jay is saying. My mind just keeps wandering back to the conversation I had with Edna. She's truly a mother... Is this what all mothers are like?..

~

We're at the last location, where everything really happens: The Bridge

"And this the bridge. This extends into a periscope. This tells what's going on of Ninjago. And this...if a Serpentine's not giving us the answer we want, and we're late up night-" Jay's interrupted by his father.

"A neuro apparatus to read their minds?"

Then so does Edna, "An audio appliance to make them" talk?"

"No, a cappuccino machine," Jay says, pouring some into a cup and drinks some. Only the First Spinjitzu Master really knows how much Jay really drinks of that.

"Haha! Amazing, son! We're so proud of you." Ed smiles at his son's handiwork.

"Why don't you tell them about the button?" Cole says.

"Yeah, the button is pretty cool Jay."

"Heh heh it's not ready yet," The blue ninja says, glaring at us.

"Oh, what's the button?" Ed at the red button, curiously.

"He's working on a special defense system," Zane informatively says.

"Something every ninja headquarters needs," Kai follows.

"Yup! Who knows what could happen so the red button is there to help us in tough situations!"

"Oh, really? What does it do? Can I help?" Ed says, trying to help Jay.

"No, it's okay. I don't need your help, dad. Let's just leave it alone. Hey, look at the time. Don't you need to get back before it gets dark? I told you, there's dangerous Serpentine out there." Jay began pushing his parents out of the room.

"Uh, I suppose we could get back," Ed says a bit disappointedly.

Edna puts me down, patting my head, "It was sure nice meeting you sweetie."

"Edna, it was a pleasure hearing about Jay's first potty time," Cole says as we all snicker. Gotta admit Jay's parents embarrassing him is pretty funny.

"Oh, if you thought that was good, wait until you hear the story about the time I caught him kissing his pillow!" Edna says happily.

We all just try to hold in our laughter after that. Jay certainly has had a rather embarrassing life.

"Snakes, ma. Snakes!"

"Okay, we're going. We're going," Ed says as we all heading back out and to their car. The sun had begun setting. The day sure went by quickly, hopefully, they'll be alright.

"So you promise to come to the junkyard to visit your mother and father?" Edna asks as the two get in their car. They put on their helmets, getting ready to take off.

"Yes, I promise! But only if you leave. I don't want you to get hurt. It's getting dark. Uh, your headlights are working, right?"

Ed flips on the lights, shining so brightly that it hurts all of our eyes. Oh my Spinjitzu, I didn't know they made lights so damn bright! Ow!

"Heh, like 'em? I used a little extra juice." He finally flips off the lights, saving our eyes. "Yep. Bye, son. I couldn't be more proud."

"And bring Nya with you, will ya? I can see why you like her. Also y/n too! She's so adorable!"

"Mom!"

We all watch them drive away, knowing that they care a lot about Jay. It's sweet really.

Sensei Wu turns to us, "Now that they have left, maybe Jay can teach us the art of kissing pillows..."

"Ugh!"

We all burst out in laughter at his reaction and his embarrassing story as he heads inside.

"Miss Edna really needs to tell us more about Jay as a kid!" I say wiping away tears. Everyone immediately agrees as we all continue to laugh.

~

After yesterday's... eventful day, we continued on working on the Bounty. We're all in the Bridge, trying to get everything fully functional and operational before any more Snakes are spotted. Though, I'm kept away from any sort of tech ever since the video games incident. Let's just say the minute I touched the controller, all hell broke loose. So, now, I'm just cleaning all of our weapons because it's the only thing I am allowed to do. I'm about to clean my fans, that luckily we got back from the fallen treehouse, Kai and Zane walk by Jay suspiciously.

"Sure got a lot of junk piling up. If only there was a place we could get rid of it..." Kai says rather loudly.

"If you don't mind, I'm trying to focus," Jay says, trying to work on the button.

Cole then walks by him, pretending to be on the phone. "Hi, mom and dad. Of course, I'd love to visit. What kind of son would I be if I didn't want to?"

Oooh, they're trying to get him to visit his parents, nice.

"Heheheheh. I know what you're trying to do. Okay, look, I might have promised to visit my parents, but there's a lot of stuff on my plate." Jay looks at us.

"You know Jay, I would kill to see my meet my parents after all. Appreciate them while they're still alive."

Before I get to say anything else, Nya walks into the room and of course, Jay quickly makes himself look presentable for her. He's so in love with her. I smile at the thought.

Jay wipes off the grease on his face, greeting Nya, "Hehe, hi Nya."

"You gonna visit your parents, today?" Nya asks, grabbing a few hardware items.

"Uh, sure am. Just about to leave."

I facepalm mentally.

"Tell them I say hi." And thus, Nya leaves.

The moment she leaves, we all look over at Jay with a deadpanned face.

"What? So my plate's not that full."

~

We're all outside now, looking over our dragons. But for some reason, they're all being very stubborn. I try to feed Mist but all she does is turn her head away from it. "Mist, what's wrong? Please eat." I beg.

"Come on, Wisp. It'll be a quick visit. Just in and out, nothing more." Jay keeps on pulling on Wisp's rein, but the dragon doesn't budge.

Sensei Wu walks up to us, looking over at all the dragons. "Hm, it is as I suspected. The Dragons are molting. They're shedding their scales."

"What does that mean?" Jay turns to Sensei concerningly.

"Every adolescent Dragon goes through a transformation before it becomes an adult. We must allow them to migrate east to the Spirit Coves for their transformation."

"Will we see them again?"

"It is hard to say. But we need to allow them to follow their path."

"Rocky's going east?" Cole says disappointedly, petting his dragon. "Say it isn't so, Rocky."

Zane pets Shard, knowing that they might never see each other again. I look at Mist, hugging her head tightly. "I'm going to miss you girl."

We spend these few moments with our dragons before they all must leave to reach adulthood. I won't lie, we're going to miss our dragons dearly. After all, we've been with them through a lot. They flew us to many places and have been by our sides on every mission. And now they're leaving. We just hope they will be okay wherever they go. Finally, after a few moments, the dragons began to get ready to fly off to the Spirit Coves. Of course, a few tears are shed as we all watch them leave. They were family after all. "Goodbye, all! Goodbye Mist! Please visit soon!"

After the dragons' departure, Jay walks over to Nya and Kai, "Well, I guess I gotta go on this long walk all by myself. Sure be nice to have company..." Nya begins to nod before Kai interrupts.

"Of course we'll go, buddy!"

"I could use a break," Cole joins in.

"All you had to do was ask," Zane says with a smile.

"Besides, it'll be nice to see your parents again!"

Jay sighs in annoyance as I snicker. Oh, we all knew what we were doing. Sorry, Jay heh.

~

All of us are now walking to the Junkyard, including Sensei Wu who decided to join us. It actually feels nice getting to go out like this with everyone, it's just so relaxing! I smile, holding onto Nya's hand.

Jay looks at me like I'm crazy for being happy that we're all walking to his home. "Of all the days to lose our ride..."

We ignore his complaining, mostly because he's been doing it for hours, and turn our attention to Sensei Wu and his flute playing. For some reason though, the song seems familiar to me. It's almost as if I heard it before hearing it at the treehouse mission...

Zane snaps me out of my thoughts, asking about the flute. "That flute. You've never told us why it's so special."

Sensei Wu stops playing, "Long ago there were many flutes, created to combat the powers of the Serpentine and drive them underground. But over time, Ninjago's forgotten its ancestors' wisdom, and now this is the only one." He soon continues to play.

Forgotten... Huh, strange. Why does it feel like- No. Stop thinking about it so hard. It's just a song and Sensei talking about its history. Nothing more.
