《Chosen (Lloyd X Reader)》Rise Of The Snakes

Long before time had a name, the First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago using four elemental weapons. But when he passed, a dark presence sought out to collect them all: Lord Garmadon. So I, Sensei Wu, his brother, and his student, Y/n, sought out to find four ninjas to collect them first.
~
It'd been a few days since the five ninjas saw Lord Garmdaon escape the Underworld. They didn't know what to expect after he escaped. After all, this was their first-ever big mission and it was only a few days after they all met. However, once they returned home, it seemed as if peace was brought upon Ninjago and everything was quiet. But, that peace can only last for so long.
~
I stared at the ninja curiously as they played their video game, shouting for power-ups and XP. Why were they playing such strange games? Didn't we do something similar to this? Shouldn't we all be training right now? Why am I not training myself? I couldn't pull away, no matter how hard I tried. It's just all so fascinating to watch. Maybe it's because I have never seen a "video game" before. I-
"Hey y/n! Playing is a lot more fun than watching you know. You should do more kid stuff like this," Cole said to me as he gestured to his controller, snapping me from my thoughts.
They really need to stop referring to me as a kid. Sure I am one but, I'm much more than that! I'm not just a kid... This wasn't the first time they referred to me as a child either. Ever since we all first met, it's been kid this and kid that. It gets... frustrating hearing them say it so often. I'm a ninja too, right?
I process everything he says for a moment before turning to the black ninja, "Well, to be honest, I don't really know how to play these sort of games. It is my first time seeing something like this." I smile sheepishly.
The four boys just stared at me with shocked expressions but, before any of them got to say anything, Sensei Wu came barging into the room and quickly unplugged the TV. And started the annoyed groans from the ninjas.
"That took us three hours! Why would you do that?! Why?!" Jay shouted out in anger and frustration. They did spend a lot of time on that "video game," I watched them do it all. I really need to prioritize what I need my top priorities.
"Unplugging the TV did seem a bit harsh Sensei Wu. They did spend a lot of time on it," I said.
They all jump onto my statement and start using it to attack the old man for unplugging the TV. That's when Sensei Wu slammed his staff into the ground, causing us to look at him and go completely quiet. Sensei Wu may be old, but he's scary.
"Just because Lord Garmadon escaped through a vortex doesn't mean he won't return one day for the Golden Weapons of Spinjistu!" The old man said as he pulled on his beard in frustration.
"But Sensei Wu, ever since he's been gone, Ninjago has had nothing but peace," Zane stated out before Jay followed.
"Yeah, peace is boring. There's no one to save, nothing to do."
I mean, they weren't wrong. But they weren't right either.
"We can train tomorrow Sensei," Cole said as he laid down.
"Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today." Words of wisdom right here.

The brothers only had bored expressions on their faces as Sensei said that. I sighed knowing that they may never get to any actual training. Sure, I spent the same time watching them play video games for three hours but, in my defense, it was just all so fascinating to watch!
"Well I was going to eat this pizza-" I see Cole reach out for a pizza slice across from him before Sensei Wu kicks it away from him.
"No pizza for you! In order for you to reach your full potential, you all must train."
I almost burst out laughing at that moment. Thank the Spinjistu Master for giving me the will to hold it in. Sensei Wu is amazing.
"Uh remember when we did a little thing called the Tornado of Creation? I thought that was pretty insane. After all, the kid didn't manage to screw it up!" Kai remarked.
"Hey-"
I was cut off by Sensei. Kai got pretty lucky or else I would've bitten off his ankles at that moment.
"Oh, you four have merely scratched the surface of your full potential. There are still so many secrets you have yet to unlock. You haven't even begun to tap into what powers your golden weapons hold. Including you, y/n."
Wait, what? What does he mean by that? I don't have a golden weapon, I don't even have an element. I'm just me, right?
I see Cole from the corner of my eye grab his scythe positioning it to grab the plug of the TV.
"You wanna talk secret powers? Check this out." He proceeds to use his scythe to plug the TV back in as the game loads back up and they all go back to playing. They never learn, do they?
Zane looked back at Sensei for a brief moment, "Don't worry Master. We will be ready for when Lord Garmadon returns."
Huh, they sure do love these strange games, don't they?
I sighed knowing that they wouldn't get any training in. I walk over to Sensei, hoping to show him that I still want to train and no longer what to confuse myself with these types of games. After all, someone's gotta make him happy and not disappoint him.
"I'll go train, Sensei." I smiled.
He simply looked down at me smiling as he patted my head. "Alright child, let's go train."
We were about to head out when Nya came bursting into the room looking startled and a bit scared. Seeing her face so shaken up, kinda made me a bit scared as well.
"Guys! Lord Garmadon, he's returned! He was spotted approaching Jamanaki Village!"
The minute she said that I just froze. What do you mean he's back?.. I thought.. oh dear Spinjistu we aren't ready to face him again! We haven't trained enough yet! What-
I was snapped out of my thoughts as Kai grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the room along with the other ninja. They all seemed pretty startled by the sudden news, but at least we knew what we had to do.
That's to protect the citizens of Ninjago from evil.
~
We all ran to our dragons as Nya pulled the lever to open the gates. I quickly jumped onto my dragon, Mist, and looked at everyone. They all looked like a mess trying to get onto their dragons and what-not.
I notice Nya hurry over to Kai as I listen in on their conversation, "Uh can I help?"
"Sorry, sis. Where we go, danger abounds. This job is for ninja, maybe not kids but she is a ninja sooo," he reaches for the reins but, fails to grab them. "Uh.. a little help." He smiles sheepishly. Nya, thankfully, passed the reins to him while giving him a deadpanned face.

Damn it, Kai.
After that, they all somehow managed to get onto their dragons, and one by one, we all started to take flight. As I was about to follow behind them, Nya stopped me for a moment.
"You have the most experience in Spinjitzu and fighting so make sure my brother stays safe, please. I don't want to lose him like we lost our parents."
I felt a pang in my heart. She had already lost her parents, I know she can't lose Kai in this upcoming battle. Sure she's strong, but will her strength keep her going or will she break if she loses Kai as well?
"I'll do what I can Nya. And thank you for seeing my skills, not my age." I smiled as I pulled down my mask and soon, Mist and I were off.
~
I quickly caught up with the rest of the team, feeling the wind blow by us. It felt pretty nice to be back on our dragons again and be flying once more.
"Just like old times, eh, Rocky?" Cole said, almost as if he said what I was thinking. Then again, we do think alike. We both love cake, hate snakes, and enjoy flying on our dragons!
I hear Kai beginning to speak as I turn my attention to the red ninja.
"You guys believe what Sensei said about unlocking our full potential?"
Jay then followed, "He may be onto something. I mean since we got these golden weapons, it's not like we ever had to use them. I wonder what they do."
"I may not have a weapon but they seem pretty powerful and yet, you all were able to control them like nothing. It's not like anyone can just wield them so that's pretty surprising, I wonder what these weapon's futures hold."
"I, for one, look forward to the future. If there is more for us to accomplish, let it be." Zane said hopefully.
"Don't know about you, but is anyone else a little excited about battling Lord Garmadon? I've been looking forward to trying out some new Spinjitzu moves. Could be the perfect opportunity." Cole said excitedly.
"What new Spinjistu moves?! You've been in the kitchen eating cake for the past few days, Cole!"
"Shhh! They don't know that kid!"
Jay simply laughed before saying some infamous words, "Ha-ha! Race you all there?"
And with that, all four of them began racing towards Jamanaki Village. And clearly, they have forgotten the reason why we are even going there! It's not a game! We are facing Lord Garmadon! Mist let out a soft roar as I smiled at her. She always seems to get to me somehow.
"Alright, Mist. Heh, we can have a bit of fun then even if this is supposed to be a serious mission."
~
After waiting for them for a solid two minutes, the rest of the team arrive. And without another second passing, they start arguing who got here first without acknowledging me of course. Eventually, their arguing began hurting my ears.
"Hey! Stop arguing about who got here first! I was here first and deal with it! We have bigger problems to worry about!"
"Sorry, kiddo. You're right. We better help out those people before-" Kai, the red ninja, immediately gets cut off by people's screaming.
"Too late on that, let's go!" Jay shouted out as we all ran inside the village.
~
We arrive at the center of the village as we get into our stances and take out our weapons. I hold my metal fans tightly as I notice a bunch of villagers running into their homes. I pray to the First Spinjistu Master that none of them get hurt in this battle.
"Stay sharp fellas. Whatever happens, never let your guard down. And if worse comes to happen, get the kid out." Kay says with a hint of wariness in his voice.
I get a bit irritated by his comment but, I understand where he's coming from. This is a huge battle and we don't know what's going to happen. Then, we hear the familiar laughter of an evil overlord. That's when we all get tense and a bit nervous. Are we really ready for this?! Can we- No, we have to be ready and protect these people. We have to!
A shadowy figure begins to turn the corner, we ready our weapons. He slowly comes out, however, something about the dark lord seems off. He seems shorter than normal, and younger?
Wait, that's not Lord Garmadon.
A young boy, wearing a black hoodie, and cape comes out demanding candy from the villagers. He has his priorities straight at least "It is I! Lloyd Garmadon! I demand all the candy in the town or else!"
"Wait, hold on a minute. Lloyd Garmadon? I thought we were gonna face Lord Garmadon." Jay said a bit annoyed while we all begin to put away our weapons. Certainly not what we expected.
"It's his son..."
I study him for a moment, noticing that he has bags under his eyes and his cape is a bit tattered. What has he been through exactly?.. He's just a kid after all.
"Looks like he escaped his boarding school for bad boys again. And to think we could've been doing Spinjitzu already." Cole annoyed at the fact that we weren't actually going to be doing any fighting.
"I wonder why he keeps on escaping his boarding school," I say looking at the boy curiously.
The young boy walks over to the fountain, jumping onto the railing of it. "Er.. I uh.. Gimmie all your candy or I'll release the Serpentine on you!"
I notice all the villagers come out, nothing that it was a false alarm and surround Lloyd while they boo him. Damn, that's a bit... rough.
Lloud pulls out a can as he opens causing toy snakes to come out of it. That's one way to intimidate a crowd of pe- And now the villagers are just throwing vegetables at him. Now that's just mean.
"No way! I asked for candy, not vegetables! I hate vegetables!" The poor boy was being relentlessly pelted by vegetables as he fell down. I feel bad for him, he's just a kid after all.
I turn to my older brothers, "Don't you think they are being a bit harsh to him? He's just a kid."
"He'll be fine, he'll need this so he can remember not to cause trouble anymore. Plus, he's gonna have to do a lot better than use an old bedtime story to scare people." The red ninja remarked as we all removed our masks.
"The serpentine are real, Kai. They're not something to joke about." Zane said informatively.
"Zane's right, they are very much real and scary. Thinking about them gives me shudders." I say shuddering a bit at the thought of snake people.
"Serpentine? Real? We're talking about the ancient race of snake people who once ruled Ninjago and were supposedly locked underground." Kai having a disbelief expression on his face.
Jay whimpers at the thought of the snakes, "Sealed in five different tombs to separate the warring tribes and ensure they don't unify to exact their revenge upon those who put them there."
"It's an old wive's tale to teach kids not to poke their noses where they don't belong. Don't you think it's a little suspicious no one's ever found one of their tombs?" Kai asked skeptically.
"Well, that's because you'd be a fool to look for one. If there was anything I hated more than dragons, it was snakes. Rubber or not." Cole responds while we all walk over to Lloyd.
The young boy proceeds to throw his can at us and hits Jay on his head. He's probably scared of what we are going to do to him. "Don't worry, folks, we'll take care of this. Nothing to see here."
I follow behind the ninja as I stare at Lloyd who's being carried over the shoulder by Cole. He really is struggling and trying to get away from us. I feel bad for him, especially how they are treating him so roughly.
Lloyd then proceeds to yell at us, "Bow down to me or suffer my wrath! I'll give you to the count of three! One! Two!"
"So what do you suppose we do with him? Spank him?" Kai asked as the other ninjas thought about what they should do with him.
"Two and a half!"
~
I stare up at Lloyd hanging down from a sign as food is dripping for him. I feel absolutely awful for him, he's just hanging there, no way down. The ninja suck at punishments. He doesn't deserve this.
"You just made me your nemesis! Mark my words, you'll pay for this!" Lloyd screamed out in pure anger.
Everyone starts laughing at him as Zane buys candy for us and passes it to us. I don't eat it, putting it away in my pocket
I shouldn't be eating this especially since it would be taunting the poor child.
I see the ninja taunt Lloyd as he screams out in anger. This was just wrong really...
After the ninja finished their taunting, they walked towards the exit of the place while I decided to stay behind for a bit. I look up at Lloyd once more as he glares at me with pure hatred in his eyes.
"What are you going to do?! Humiliate and taunt me more?!" He shouts out.
I simply shake my head as I take out one of my metal fans and throw it up at the signpost causing Lloyd to fall down. I quickly catch him, my fan coming back to me as I use my free hand to catch it. His eyes widen before he quickly jumps out of my arms and gets in a defensive stance.
"Why did you help me? I thought you were a ninja like those other jerk ninjas!"
I stared at him for a moment, "I helped you because it was the right thing to do. That's what a real ninja is supposed to do after all. Really sorry about my friends though, didn't know they would be a jerk about this. Just please stay out of trouble, you seem like you've been through some stuff. " I smile at him.
He stares at me for a moment, possibly thinking about his next words. "...thank you. Didn't think you would help me."
"Of course, would be mean if I left you up there." I pull out my lollipop and handed it to him. "Here. You wanted candy, right? I'm sure you'll like this," I said with a smile.
Lloyd grabs it from me as he stares at it for a moment, "Thanks."
Before I get to say anything, I hear the ninjas call out my name. "Gotta go, stay out of trouble, please! See ya later!" I wave to him before I run off.
Lloyd just stands there, staring at my disappearing figure. "Huh..."
~
I make it back to the other ninja, I see Zane holding an old-looking scroll. I pop my head between Jay and Kai, "So whatcha guys reading?"
The two scream out in terror as I giggle at their reactions. "Don't ever do that again y/n!" Jay yells out.
"Welcome back, y/n. It seems to appear that Kai has mistakenly taken Sensei's bag in the rush and we found an old scroll." Zane studied the scroll for a moment.
"So can you decipher it, Zane?" Cole asks curiously. We all surround the scroll noticing that the four ninjas are surrounding a green ninja. For some reason, the purple ninja isn't there... I'm not there.
"Hmm, this symbol means prophecy, and this one means green. As for the rest-"
I cut off Zane by reading the rest, "One ninja will rise above the others and become the Green Ninja, the ninja destined to defeat the Dark Lord."
All the ninjas turn to me, staring at me in bewilderment. "How did you know that y/n? This is an ancient language." Zane asks.
"I... actually don't know. It just seems natural to read?..." I say sheepishly. How did I know that? I'm pretty sure I never saw anything like this before...
Cole spoke up first, "Don't worry about it kid. Now, this prophecy really sounds interesting."
"Wait, the Dark Lord. You think they mean Lord Garmadon? Wait, those ninja surrounding the green ninja, those seem like us." Kai says as he studies the image.
That's when Kai, Jay, and Zane start arguing over who would be the green ninja. I hold my ears as their arguing starts to hurt my ears. Cole takes notice of my suffering as he speaks up, "Everyone, stop it! Remember why Sensei brought us together in the first place. We're a team. We weren't meant to see this and probably for good reason. Come on, let's head back home. We have the training to do. Plus, your arguing is hurting the kid's ears.
They take notice of my suffering as they all agree with Cole. We all hop onto our dragons and fly off as Kai stays for a moment.
"Can I be the green ninja?" Kai asks himself before flying off behind the others.
