Three months had passed since y/n disappeared.
Three months staying up every night worrying about her, hoping that she was okay.
Three months missing all of her stupid, sarcastic jokes.
Three months just missing... her.
I had been trying to track her down since the moment she fled Coruscant.
I tried to pin the location of Count Dooku's ship, or at least tried to find any sort of coordinates that would lead me to her, but she had disabled all lines of communication.
I searched countless planets in hopes of finding her somewhere, anywhere. I even resorted to asking random people on random planets if they had seen her, or even heard of her. Still, even with all of that, there was no sign of her anywhere.
I did anything and everything I could to try and find her, but of course, there was nothing.
I began to lose hope after two months of searching, just about 60 days of looking. Though, I knew I needed to find her. I never actually gave up trying, I couldn't.
And I'm glad I didn't.
---
Obi-Wan and I had been given a mission from the council, and we were to be stationed on one of the planets in the region of the Outer Rim Territories.
Mustafar, Tatooine (my home planet), Hoth, and many more planets were all part of this region. Though, there was one planet that stood out to me the most: Dagobah.
I had heard of Dagobah and how mysterious it was. No technology, no interaction with others. I quickly realized that it would have been the perfect planet for y/n to escape to.
After my mission with Obi-Wan had been finished, I told him to go back to the Jedi Temple without me and report our mission to the council.
He knew what I was going to do, even though I hadn't actually told him anything. He offered to help me search, but I declined. I knew I needed to find y/n myself.
Once Obi-Wan and I said our goodbyes and parted ways, I made my way for Dagobah.
---
Flying above the trees that were rooted in this mysterious planet, I searched for a while. Five hours to be exact.
I stayed just at the right height where I would be able to see some of the swampy ground through the trees. Dagobah seems to have very little sunlight hit the ground, so it was in fact very hard to see anything at all.
Because of this, I used my thermal scanner that I had been given from the council for a mission a while back. With the scanner, I could try to see any signs of any humans. It could detect infrared energy (aka heat) from miles away and convert it into a visual image.
Though, even with the use of my scanner, nothing was working. I even started scanning over areas of the planet three times in a row just to be sure that nothing was there.

After the sixth hour of searching, I had just about given up hope.
Then, it was like the universe decided to help me out because my thermal scanner picked up some heat signatures.
I studied the scanner for a moment, trying to depict what these heat signatures could have been; and then I realized it was a human.
It was her.
I am not going to lie, I started to freak out a little.
My palms began to sweat and my heart began to race.
I missed y/n, yes, but it was like something changed that day that the droids infiltrated the temple.
Before that had even happened, we shared a moment in the Jedi Training Room. Something felt different after that moment.
I knew y/n was a good person deep down, and I did care for her. I had seen her grow and change while she was staying at the temple, even if it was only a little change.
It was still something to me.
And then that moment occurred, and it changed my perspective of her completely.
I didn't know what I was feeling, it was all so confusing. I had never felt anything like that before, for anyone. All I knew was that it was different. It felt... deeper.
I felt a deeper connection with her, and I don't just feel that with anybody. This was something new, something special.
And that's why I continued to search for her.
---
As I landed my starfighter on Dagobah and stepped out of the ship, my nervousness only grew.
It was dark on this planet. The trees covered most of the light from the sky, and the ground was extremely swampy.
I held out my thermal scanner, trying to locate and follow the heat signatures from before. Though, to my surprise, they had disappeared.
I started to panic as I swung my body around, back and forth, trying to relocate y/n.
"No, no, no, no" I whispered to myself as I could feel my heart rate picking up.
Just as I finally found her, she was gone again.
All of a sudden, I heard a rustling in the trees that were surrounding me, standing tall and high above me. I unclipped my lightsaber from my belt without thinking twice.
Thermal scanner in one hand, lightsaber in the other.
I heard the rustling again, but now it sounded closer.
This was not the right time for some crazy creature to try and attack me.
I looked up into the trees as I moved around in a defensive position. My thermal scanner now pointed to where I was looking as I tried to pick up any heat signatures from there.
Suddenly, a loud thud sounded from behind me.
I swung my body around as I dropped my thermal scanner, now ready for a fight.
I couldn't see the figure that had appeared, granted the only bright light that lit up anything was my saber.

Before I could even make the first move, the mysterious figure immediately kicked my saber out of my hand.
I didn't even have enough time to react before they had leaped into the air, propelled themselves upwards using my shoulders, wrapped their legs around my neck, and flipped me downwards.
I instantly knew what move that was: an acrobatic double-leg grapple of the neck, otherwise known as a flying scissor legs takedown.
Y/n's signature move.
As I hit the ground, her legs quickly left my neck as she moved herself on top of me. She straddled me from above as I laid on the ground.
Y/n ignited her lightsaber and held it close to my neck.
"What are you doing here?" she seethed, staring me down.
"Nice to see you too" I retorted sarcastically.
She continued to stare at me for a couple of seconds as I noticed a mixture of emotions brewing in her eyes.
Then she disignited her lightsaber.
She got off from on top of me as I stood up. Panting and out of breath from the takedown she did on me earlier, I looked over to her .
"You shouldn't be here" she finally spoke as she turned around.
"And neither should you, but I guess we both go against the unwritten rules" I snapped back.
She didn't respond to that.
She just stared off into the trees. Her back was the only thing facing towards me.
I spoke up. "Y/n, I've been so worried about you. Every day since you left the temple, I've searched for you, trying to find you."
She still didn't respond.
"I never gave up looking for you. Please, come back with me. The council can help you, I can help you-"
"No, you can't" she abruptly cut me off.
"You can't help me. Can't you see? I left the temple because I'm bad. I'm awful. I am a terrible person who has done worse things than you can ever imagine. The Jedi will never be a place for me, and neither will the Sith."
I stood there for a second, kind of shocked at what she just said.
"That's not true" I retorted. "You've grown since you arrived at the temple. You've..."
I paused for a moment, really making sure that I meant what I was saying.
"...changed. I know there is good in you. I can help save you."
All at once, y/n ignited her lightsaber as she lunged towards me. I hadn't even thought to grab mine after she had previously knocked it out of my hand. It wasn't my main concern at that moment in time.
The next events happened so fast, I didn't even have enough time to process any thoughts.
Before y/n was about to plunge her lightsaber right into my heart, she stopped. Tears filled her eyes as her saber mere inches away from being driven into my skin.
"I can't be saved" she uttered, her mouth quivering as she spoke.
I stood there, shocked, now for many different reasons.
Yes, I knew y/n was stubborn, but she wouldn't just give up on herself like that after everything she's been through. I knew she wouldn't. There was just no way she could do that to herself.
I watched as the anger, sadness, and hurt quickly began to fill her like the high tides filling the sands on the beaches during a full moon.
Y/n stepped back and disignited her lightsaber once more. She force-retrieved my saber and tossed it over to me as she looked directly in my eyes.
"You need to go" she demanded, now with a new amount of sadness in her voice.
"I'm not leaving without you" I shot back.
"You need to go" she spoke again, more assertively.
"No" I retorted with the same amount of assertiveness.
Y/n gazed at me. She looked miserable. She was lost, helpless.
I didn't know what she truly wanted, if she wanted to actually stay or if she really wanted to go. Though, I did know what she needed. She needed some sort of a family after never having one all of her life.
She needed the Jedi.
"I care about you, y/n" I began to speak.
"I don't know about you, but that moment we shared in the Jedi Training Room meant something to me. We connected. It was something I've never felt before."
I paused. "Did it... mean anything to you?"
Her eyes scanned over my face as she chose her next words carefully.
"It meant nothing to me" she seethed with a new tone of disgust in her voice.
I quickly grew angry at those five words.
She didn't mean that, she couldn't have.
Or maybe she did.
Maybe she was that person she kept telling herself she was.
But, to be honest, I didn't care.
"You're lying" I retorted, knowing I would probably start to irritate her.
"Excuse me?" she snapped back as her disgust only grew.
"I know you felt something too. I could sense it, so don't try to hide it."
She scoffed as she slid her tongue on the inside of her cheek. Classic y/n.
"You're really as stuck-up as they say you are" she retorted, clearly annoyed.
"Maybe, but either way, you're coming back with me" I spoke, confident in what I was saying.
Y/n let out a slight chuckle of disbelief after hearing what I had just said.
"Oh, yea? And how do you plan on doing that?"
I laughed as I saw R2 appear right behind y/n without her even noticing.
While y/n and I were arguing, R2 had managed to slowly creep out of my ship. He was able to make his way behind her when she wasn't looking.
I knew R2 and I had the same idea in mind, so I played along, trying to keep y/n attention towards me.
I finally spoke as y/n awaited a response.
"Like this."
And just in that moment, R2 had shocked y/n from behind.
She fell to the ground as I rushed to catch her before she could hit it. She was now completely passed out.
What can I say? History repeats itself.
