《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 94: Republic Hunt Down

"How are you feeling?" I asked. It was a stupid question, but it was the only one I could think of at the moment. There was no question he felt awful, especially knowing the weight of letting your padawan down. I somehow knew the feeling; I let my own down.
His mere appearance was challenging to place my finger on. He had been quiet ever since we were shoved out from the base. He placed himself near the counter of the bar, leaning his body onto his elbows. He took a few sips from the drink nearby. I didn't know if it was alcohol or just simple sparkling water.
"How am I feeling? That's such a stupid question," he scuffed, taking another sip. I concluded that inside the glass cup was alcohol.
My eyes scanned the rest of our place; it felt cold and dark, not how it usually felt. The familiar feeling was romantic and bright, with candles lit at every end table. However, our whole place seemed like a dungeon with no life.
I felt groggy and exhausted. Having a few minutes to think on the living room sofa didn't feel like a break. My mind was still thinking of ways to help Ahsoka, but none came to mind.
After a few moments of silence, he chuckled again, placing the glass cup harshly on the bar counter. My eyes moved immediately to the back of his head; he was still leaning against the bar. "Don't do that. You know out of all people how I'm feeling. I know you can sense it," He cleared his throat before proceeding.
His head peered from the corner of his shoulder before turning his whole body around. His back was now leaning against the bar counter. "They are making a mistake. One they can't see yet." He let out his frustration with a single sigh.
He muttered some cuss words under his lips, "Can you just tell me what you've been keeping so secret from me?" he spatted.
My eyes immediately grew. Panic settled, and I felt like choking on my breath.
"I'm not hiding-"
He interrupted me quickly. "Don't lie. It seemed ever since you pushed yourself out of order, you haven't been yourself." He muttered, though his voice became louder towards the end of his sentence.
"No, you don't do that. Whatever it is that inside that glass cup has turned you into an asshole," I replied, bringing my body up from the couch. I stared into Anakin's eyes coldly before heading into our bedroom, closing the door and locking it.
It was true, however. I was lying; I haven't been myself since the order or even since I found out I was carrying a baby. I started to wonder if lying after all was worth it.
I ignored the knock on the door a few seconds after I had stepped into this room. I knew it was Anakin trying to come and apologize, but I wasn't ready to lie to his face once again and pretend I have no idea what he was even talking about.
I wasn't annoyed or upset at the boy, but instead, I was upset with myself. He was my husband, after all, and lying was almost like a break in our vow. I pressed the bottom of my stomach with my hand. I wasn't big or even weeks in to feel anything, but I felt its presence. It was soothing and peaceful.
Then another knock came through accompanied by his voice, which made my hands fly off from my stomach. "Please, open the door."

If he wanted, he could easily open the door with the slight movement of his hand, but instead, he considered my personal space. However, I ignored him once again. I placed my hand onto the panel of the door, being able to hear the sounds of his breaths from the other side.
"I'm sorry. You asked how I'm feeling and telling you the truth; I feel like I keep letting the people around me down."
That was enough to make me open the door to see his face full of guilt. Before saying anything, I took his tall body into a hug, placing my hands around his neck and grooming his curly brown hair.
His hands immediately wrapped themselves around my waist, a deep sigh coming from inside his mouth. "You aren't letting anyone down," I whispered into his ear, I was standing on my tippy toes, but it was worth the extra strength to reach and forward the message.
It was dark outside, and the clouds had gathered themselves, preparing for a rainstorm that was set to settle over coruscant.
"I know she didn't do it. She couldn't have. They need to," Anakin cut himself off with a quick sigh before leaning back a bit to make a figure of my face. "They will believe you," I finished off. A soft smile appeared on his face before giving a slight nod.
His gloved hand made its way towards the bottom of my chin, and almost voluntarily, my face moved towards his placing my lips onto his. His lips were soft and gentle, loving and moving against mine. At that moment, our current situation was out of our thoughts, and it was only us for that mere second.
"Master Skywalker, we have a code red on Ahsoka Tano. She has killed some of our troops." The intercom on his wrist went off immediately. That mere second was over. His lips parted from mine, with a shocked expression on his face. He licked his lips before moving from the bedroom door frame.
"Do not kill; set your blasters to stun." He snapped; he quickly moved his body to the exit door of our place. "Let's go" he grabbed the handle of the door, waiting for my body to move along with his.
"Wait" I walked to our closet door, grabbing the hilt of my saber as quickly as I could. The feeling of having my weapon back was euphoric.
Every single mission I've been on laid onto this weapon. "You forgot one more," Anakin commented; he grabbed the other saber from the box, igniting it, as the color reflected onto our faces.
"Let's just hope we won't need to use them," I chuckled before grabbing the hilt from his hands.
"We won't," he smiled weakly.

Arriving back at the base where Ahsoka was once held was a complete disaster. From all the intercoms we had received, every one of them had been correct. She was no longer in her holding cell, and there were multiple dead troopers on the ground.
My mind hasn't wrapped around the whole ideal, not wanting any of it to be true. I couldn't let it be true. Anakin's eyes flicked over to me for a mere second before looking back at the bodies that lay ahead of us.
"I know commander Tano. She would never do something like this." Rex pointed out as more of his fellow brothers were on the verge of anger. My eyes roamed the entire hallway, scared to find actual evidence but determined to prove she was innocent.

I know rex was just in the same situation as Anakin and I were. Neither one of us knew what the proper steps to take were. We had all been trained to handle this type of situation, but not when it came to the people closest to us.
It seemed like a trap. One with only one escape, and that was siding with the council and senate."Then who did?" Commander Wolf snapped back. At that quick moment, the sound of shuffling feet caught my attention.
"Quiet boys," I voiced.
I stepped forward, making sure not to step on any of the bodies. I closed my eyes once more, catching the sounds of her feet dragging themselves along the metal ground.
"Ahsoka, stop running, please. Let me help you." my voice echoed through the halls. There was a moment of silence. "You can't help me, Y/n. Someone is setting me up." Her voice came back through. I felt a soft smile appear on my face, "I believe you. Please-" but before I could finish, her words immediately flooded the hallway. "But no one else will." she snapped, and the sound of her feet was the only thing heard.
"Keep searching until we find her," Anakin commented, his voice still harsh. I closed my eyes, trying to think of other ways I could have brought her back. Maybe they weren't the right words.
"Rex, call security. Tell them we need to search the entire base." Anakin continued.
"Yes, sir," Rex and Commander Wolffe replied. The two quickly headed down the long narrow hallway following the echos of Ahsoka's feet.
"Anakin, I'm so-" he shut me up immediately by placing his lips onto mine, shocking me entirely. "You don't get to be sorry," he mumbled. I was glad he still had the chance to show me any love despite what had been happening all around us.
"Come on, we need to head to the backside of the base," He grabbed onto my hand, guiding me along his path.
"She is considered armed and dangerous. All point's bulletin on Ahsoka Tano," said the fellow voices of the troopers as we ran right past them. I stopped immediately in my tracks, "You set out in all points bulletin?!" I yelled. I was confused.
He slowed down, his back facing my face. "I had to do what I needed to do. If we want so badly to find out the truth and help her, we need to know where she's at." He huffed, his face peered over the side of his shoulder.
The chatter and blaring alarms were a bit overwhelming, and luckily for him, I wasn't in the mood for another argument. "You better hope it does," I forced out. I shook the thought out of my head, continuing to run towards the back exit of the base.
"It will trust me. When am I ever wrong?" he sarcastically replied, making me roll my eyes. He still had his humor.
When the doors of the base opened, my eyes peeled wide open. Tanks, troops, and ships were dispersed everywhere. Even animals who could sniff out anyone were released.
"There she is!" my face snapped into the direction of the troop. Following his pointer finger to find Ahsoka on top of a statue. "Quick! Stop her before she gets to the ship!" the trooper continued to yell.
I began to run, following her footsteps, as she too began to flee once again. She jumped on top of another long building, but the blasters shot was not set to stun this time. Instead, they were set to kill.
The tanks had also begun to set fire on every ship she was close enough to get on. "Set your blasters to stun!" I yelled over the immense rain that was pouring down onto us. However, none of the troops ever responded and were still locked on killing her.
"Please don't get hurt" were the only words that kept repeating inside my head. All the ships eventually were destroyed by the massive tanks and ships that hovered above us. She was set with one possible exit, and that was the industrial pipelines.
More and more troops peered out from corners, all taking their hits. However, Ahsoka was talented enough to dodge every single one of them. She'd jump, spin and twirl around each blaster shot.
"Set your weapons to stun, now!" I yelled once again at the clones who were by my side. This time it was more effective as they now turned their blasters to stun. My nerves weren't quite settled yet, the entire base was still hunting her down, and she wasn't willing to give up so easily. She was only a few feet ahead, and we were now on the metal walkways above the pipeline.
Her green sabers quickly ignited themselves, dodging and reflecting every stun that made her way. It was pouring rain, making the situation even more intense, and through the now strands of wet hair, I couldn't help but panic. Above us were multiple aircraft, all getting ready to take their shot as well. "Do not shoot to kill! Do not shoot to kill!" I yelled once again, terrified my words didn't resonate.
I looked to my side to see Ani still keeping up, "Please," I begged. He nodded his head before lifting his wrist, "don't shoot to kill. Box her in. Don't let her escape, and tell me what you see, Oddball." He ordered.
"She's moving west," Oddball replied. Squinting through the drips of rain, I still saw her green sabers.
We were on the left side of her body as she hurried along the pipes. She was fast and competent. She didn't run along the walkway, but instead, she moved around the extensive lines and jumped over them.
That's when a missile knocked her straight off her tracks, making her sabers no longer appear in the distance. The adrenaline quickly rushed, making my pace go faster. She was trapped; the lights of the ships now stopped in place.
I ran, turning multiple corners, when I saw her body standing right before me. I looked to my side to see Anakin's face. His lips were slightly separated, as were his brows raised somewhat. The rain continued to pour down his face.
Her gaze moved over our faces but quickly moved them right along. Following her eyes, she was looking straight ahead to the pipe nearest to her. She was about to make a move. "Ahsoka, don't!" I yelled, but it didn't matter.
She quickly looked around before, jumping wide from the ground, landing onto the nearest piping, and slicing a hole to fit her body through with her only saber left.
"Ahsoka!" Anakin yelled, but she was gone once again.
