《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 64: Reunion

When I arrived at the restaurant, Colvis had already been sitting at our table. I took a deep breath putting on my best act to see him. I only had eyes for one person, and that was Ani. So pretending to be interested in someone else is weird.
I approached the table, and immediately he stood up, pulling out the chair for me to sit in. "Thank you." I smiled, taking a seat. There was an awkward silence when the only chatter was from the people around us.
"It's been good to see you again, Clovis," I commented. I took a sip from my water, hoping it would relieve the tension. "It's good to see you again also." He replied. I placed my water back on the table, relaxing my shoulders. My mind ran to Anakin's face wishing it was him instead of Clovis.
"I didn't realize how lonely I was... until tonight," I mumbled. "Perhaps I can do more to ease your loneliness once I return from Cato Neimoidia," he answered. It knocked me straight out of my thoughts.
Clovis was a tall and muscular man. He had dark brown hair and a sharp jawline. Across his forehead were gold tattoos symbolizing his status with the society of Scipio. He had dark green eyes that when they peered into yours, it was hard to look away.
"Oh, you're taking a pleasure trip?" I asked. This was the beginning of getting to the bottom of all this mess. "Hardly. I'm going there to put the fear of Scipio in those overgrown Trade Federation grubs. You know how they are. They love to borrow money from the banking clan, but they hate to pay it back." He chuckled. His head leaned slightly further into my direction. Bingo, he was more interested than just sweet talk.
"Maybe you can say a few words on my behalf." I chuckled. I had to say; my acting skills were very much on point. "Padme is on the holonet with the Neimoidians every day, asking for trade concessions, but she can't seem to make any progress," I mumbled the last part softly.
"I've got an idea. Come with me to Cato Neimoidia. Speak to them in person. I have leverage from the Banking Clan. You have diplomatic contacts. We can help each other." Clovis stood up excitingly from his chair. He took the bottle of wine, pouring some into his empty cup as well as mine.
"Are you inviting me for political reasons, or... because you want us to be friends again?" I asked seductively. He sat back onto his chair, sipping from his glass cup. "Both, of course. Although I'm far more interested in your friendship than your politics," he replied; he winked, holding the cup in one hand before sipping from it again.
"In that case, I'll be happy to go with you. It'll be like... old times." I smiled. I didn't want to go back to old times; I loved where I was, especially with Ani.

"On the contrary, I hope it'll be much better than old times." he beamed. I coughed slightly to loosen the tension that I purposely built up. This was going to be a rather... exciting trip.

I quickly packed my bags, throwing in a few outfits and robes I knew I would need. Ani watched my every move though he hadn't said one word. Instead, he followed my lead up to the boarding docks where we waited for Clovis.
"Senator Clovis," I said as he walked up towards our bodies. "Y/n. You look exquisite," he responded. He hadn't noted that Anakin was standing right beside him. He wasn't dressed in his traditional robes; he was dressed in servant clothes. As for myself, I wore a dark purple dress that showed my entire back.
Clovis grabbed onto my waist, coming in for a small hug that ended up with his mouth on both sides of my cheeks, giving them a little peek. From his shoulder was Anakin's face peering into my eyes. His face was full of anger, so potent that a vein popped out from his forehead.
We entered the ship and upon entering was a row of chairs. All strictly right next to each other. I gasped, I knew what Clovis would want to sit on either side of my body, and well, Anakin isn't the one to share.
"If you get tired, you can rest your head on my shoulder," Clovis suggested. I smiled weakly, not wanting to say anything back. Luckily, Anakin caught on. He ran towards the row of seats, checking the buckles. "Allow me, my lady. Oh, and this one is broken." he pulled down on the hook of the seat, breaking the handle on purpose. "My bad." he turned around, shrugging in the process. Well, at least he saved me from that.
I sat on one of the chairs, relaxing my back onto one of them. Anakin's duty was to ride the ship, so it was only Clovis and me, and he stupidly took the broken chair. During the ride, Clovis had attempted to kiss me, and each time, Anakin swerved, making him fly to the other side of the ship. I smiled, knowing how jealous he was and how much he cared.
When we arrived, we were greeted by a few members of the Banking Clan. "Senator Amidala an unexpected privilege." Senator Dod said as he held out his hand. Senator? I wasn't a senator; he must have mistaken me for Padme. "Senator Dod, please forgive me for arriving unannounced, and also I'm a Je-" I began, but Anakin coughed, making me stop.
"Oh, no. Always a pleasure to see you, my dear. I hope you and I can have a fresh start. Padme had told me you have a talent for politics." Dod bowed. I smiled; I was glad to hear Padme thought I was . Even if I wasn't involved in the political world.
"I came here with the very same hope. I believe in second chances." I turned slowly in Clovis's direction, putting on once again an act. "So do I, y/n. So do I."

We walked up the massive stairs that lead to the entrance of a tall palace. Inside were crowds of people huddled up in their circle. "My servants will see you to your room. Clovis and I have some business to discuss." Senator Doc insisted. The servants were gold droids similar to 3PO, who also joined along on the trip.
I headed to the ride side of the palace, walking up the stairs that lead up to my room. It was an enormous room with a bed in the middle of it. The view was spectacular and overlooked a small area. Clouds were slightly above the edge. "I hope you will be comfortable here." One of the servant's droids voiced. She set my luggage on top of the red silky bed.
I smiled in appreciation before walking over the ledge. It was beautiful, "3PO, after that long trip, I think I need a walk." I mumbled as I heard his footsteps approach. I wasn't in the mood for his jabber and unnecessary comments.
I headed back towards the lobby, trying to find Clovis. I needed to know what sort of business Clovis and Senator Dod had. My eyes wandered the whole area until I noticed another pair of steps that led downward. I checked my surroundings, making sure nobody had seen I quickly stepped onto the stairs.
I walked straight into a secluded library, and to my surprise, they shut down their hologram in a quickie. Their eyes darted towards my face uneasily; their muscles jacked up." Y/n." Clovis said, surprised. "What are you doing here?" He asked nervously.
"Oh, I'm sorry to intrude. I...I was lonely, so I came looking for you, and..." I articulated, making up whatever came to mind. I walked closer to the table, to Clovis.
"My dear, I'll give you a proper tour later. Now, let me take you back to your room so you can get dressed for dinner." He grabbed onto my hands, clutching them closely onto his chest. Memories flooded of the past, memories of the way Ani would hold my hands. I had to admit, I was sad. This is what I wanted to do with Anakin instead of him.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll see you at dinner." Clovis made it clear to Dod and the rest. He knew how to intimidate. His hand laid on the back of my waist as he took me back into my room. Well, so much for spying. I sighed, being back in this same room I had just left.
On the table laid a small remote, a remote I could use to signal Anakin in case of anything. I wanted badly to have him around, but I knew he couldn't be seen everywhere as much, especially with Clovis around. There would be suspicion, and this was my first mission back.
A few minutes before dinner, I headed over to my closet, looking at the variety of dresses in my luggage. I had picked one especially for this occasion; It was a long, light purple dress. It wrapped my body tightly, showing off my curves. I placed my hair into a bun touching the ring that hung from my neck. Despite our fight, I would never take it off.
I headed back down to the lobby, awaiting Clovis, who was already at the end of the stairs. He smiled, showing his teeth, and I had to admit, he made me feel beautiful. "Miss Amidala, as my honored guest, please share this drink with me." Senator Dod was also at the bottom of the stairs.
One of his servants had a tray with one cup. He drank from the cup before handing it to me. "A toast to our new friendship."
"Of course" I took the bottle, my lips making contact with the edge sipping the drink diligently. There was an odd taste to the cup but blamed it on Dod's lip that had touched it before mine did.
"Come. Everyone is eager to meet you." The senator added. I followed him down the stairs leading to a massive dining hall. On the table were different kinds of food and pastries. My stomach grumbled. I was indeed hungry.
I sat on one side of the table next to the window while Clovis sat at the end. We chatted for a few minutes as we ate our food. We mostly talked about the past and how much everything had changed. He knows I left politics, but never the reason why. I didn't know if he even knew I was a part of the Jedi.
Senator Dod poured wine on top of wine into my small glass cup. Several minutes passed, my whole body felt dizzy. I sat up, feeling my entire body slouch, and hit the end of the table. "Oh!" I held my body up with my hands. The room seemed to duplicate itself. I didn't understand what had happened.
"Are you feeling alright?" Clovis asked, concerned. I touched my forehead, trying to recover my balance, "I'm fine." I mumbled. "I.. stood up too fast," I added. I knew that wasn't the reason, but I wished it was. "It has been a very long day. Perhaps we should retire to the guest quarters?" C3PO suggested. That seemed like the reasonable thing to do, but I wasn't about to give up just immediately.
"Unless you'd like a tour of the palace. It's truly worth seeing." Clovis also suggested. "A tour sounds perfect," I answered immediately.
"You're dismissed for the night." Clovis redirected his attention to 3PO. His voice was calm and confident. "Are you sure?" the droid asked. "Yes. I'm sure." I replied.

Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.

UPDATE: I am now going back through and rewriting this story. All updated chapters will be in the format of UPDATE: "Chapter Title". The rewrite will follow the major plot points, but some minor points may change, so it may be confusing to read the old version and the new version together. I plan to update every Wednesday and Sunday. Thank you for your patience!
