《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 52: Across the Stars

"Are you okay?" Anakin asked. He grabbed the sides of my cheeks, caressing them as he slowly lifted my head upwards. I stared at his blue eyes through a hazy vision.
My entire body felt weak. My thoughts ran into the kind of Jedi I am or the one I wanted to be. I wasn't as gifted as Anakin or Obi-Wan. I was just a girl who came into the order late. The girl everyone thought was a charity case.
I knew Master Windu would be disappointed about what happened today. How could a Jedi be trapped by a Doctor? It isn't very pleasant.
"Ani, how about next time you rescue me before you kill all the battle droids?" I teased. I was always great at hiding my emotions by joking around; it was a form of defense.
"A little "thank you" would go a long way." He slightly chuckled. His hands lowered themselves, holding onto my hands, reassuring me I was going to be okay. His hair was messily perfect as always.
He then lowered them onto my waist, making me grunt in pain. My breath hitched as he pressed against the sides.
"It's okay; I'm right here. I'll take us home soon." Anakin whispered. He took the cuff off, looking at the deep red marks it had left on both my wrists. He furrowed his brows, intensely searching everywhere that my body was visible.
He took a deep breath. His chest rose and fell heavily. Something about the way he stared for a cold moment was chilling. My eyes began to swell with tears, not knowing why I was crying. With his thumb pad, he gently wiped them away; a loud sigh came from within him.
"Grab your blasters. We need to find that Doctor." Anakin stood up from kneeling. He faced his trooper squad as they all lined up.
I grabbed the sides of my wrists, rubbing the bruises while I stood up. My body felt like jello, and the room seemed to be slowly spinning.
"Come on, Y/n. I got you." Anakin took my waist as I slowly limped to the exit. My whole weight was entirely leaning on Anakin's chest, though he didn't seem to mind. Instead, he held my waist tightly as we walked through the hallway until we arrived at a circular hall.

"Anakin, I'm guessing you didn't capture the Doctor?" Obi-Wan asked casually, his voice coming from Ani's intercom band.
"I'm working on it. Do you have the bombs?" Ani hissed back, his eyes fixating on every possible way the Doctor could have gone. He still held the side of my waist, picking up with every strength as he searched the hall.
There were about four or five possible ways he could have gone, and our chances were low. We depended on making the right choice. The choice that could lead us to his ship before he takes off.
I closed my eyes, connecting to the force, trying to make something out of this horrible situation. I felt the darkness and the light of the facility. Whispers echoed throughout the hallway, insisting I go into their path.
My mind was no longer in charge; the sensation of my feet walking had taken every fiber in my body. My eyes snapped open as I stood upon an entrance. "He went this way," I commented as I looked back to see Ani. He smiled widely as I looked down to see I was standing on both my feet alone.
Now, we were running down this long hallway; everything had depended on the choice I had made. My body felt renewed, as if someone had placed new batteries inside of me.
Though when we reached the end, we stood at another intersection. Luckily, we ran right into Ahsoka. "Snips, we have a missing bomb, and a trigger-happy doctor on the loose "Anakin stepped forwards from the crowd approaching his Padawan.
Missing bomb? I then remembered the Doctor had given the small droid a bomb that held the gaseous vial.
"I saw Dr. Vindi give a little droid a bomb," I said. My eyes were widening, realizing that that little droid can still be lingering around.
"You guys split up. Find that droid."
Anakin's eyes flickered to mine before smiling. He stood tall, hovering over my body before he looked at Ahsoka. "Take care of each other!" He shouted before taking off with a group of clones.
I looked in Ahsoka's direction, stopping her before she began to speak. "I need to search on my own. I know you more than capable of handling yourself. I'll bring Jar Jar along and keep him safe." I commented.

Ahsoka didn't bother to argue; she knew it was the right thing to do. The right thing for the people of the Galaxy. "You might want to take this." She said, handing me a lightsaber. It wasn't mine, but it would do for the current situation.
Igniting it felt like home. I quickly spun the saber in a circle, making my hand adapt to the new hilt. "Let's go, Jar Jar," I smirked. I took his arm, swinging his body forwarded as I dragged him into another hallway.
My eyes scanned the hall as I passed more and more doors. None of them felt right until Binks stopped in front of one. It was unusual from the other kinds; this one held flowers colored in blue.
"Something smells good in here!" Jar Jar cheered as he hopped inside, making his way toward a plant.
I walked behind, examining the leaves and pots that scattered on tables. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary until a red light blinked from underneath the table caught my eyes. I lowered my body, making my way down the floor when I spotted the small droid. Bingo.
I crouched as I made myself forcibly smile, but in fact, I was irritated. Not only from this exhausting extended mission but instead, I wasn't in the mood to be cherry and pretend everything was fine when three hours ago I was going through hell.
"Hey, there, little guy. How about you hand that over to me?" My voice became sweet and low at the same time. My eyes are peering into the small droid that carried a very dangerous bomb. I knew any wrong move could lead Jar Jar and me to get sick.
The droid eyes stared into my eyes, going back and forth between my hands. Until surprisingly, he yelled, making my body bounce back. My body slammed into the back table of the plants behind me. I grunted once more as my back trembled with pain.
"He's getting away!" I yelled, holding onto my sides.
Jar Jar leaped fastly, grabbing onto the hind legs of the droid. The bomb flew out of its hands, flying in mid-air as I used the force to hold it in place before it slammed onto the ground.
"Ahsoka, I got the last bomb," I spoke into my intercom as I held the bomb carefully in my hand. The timer was a quarter done, but sadly disarming a bomb wasn't what I was best at. The small droid cried out before kicking Binks in the face. Once he did, he quickly ran back into the hallway.
"Stay there. I'll get the bomb squad!" Ahsoka panted.
Minutes passed as Rex ran right into the room; following was the entire squad.
"Y/n!" Rex yelled as he grabbed the bomb from my hand in an instance. There were only two bars left until the bomb exploded. The few troops began working, making every second more intense.
"Are you okay?" Ahsoka asked. She grabbed my wrists, examining the same way Ani did. Her eyebrows shot up in surprise. A slight sting was fuming from my wrist as I grunted. "A medic can make that feel better," she added.
The room was quiet for a moment as more and more seconds came by. Until finally, the sound of a clip was all anyone could hear.
"Deactivated. Plenty of time to spare." He held the bomb in the air like a trophy. Everyone sighed in relief while Binks fainted, landing back onto his face.
'Y/n. Are you there?" My intercom blinked; it was Ani. I smiled as he mentioned my name. His voice was calm and always pleasing to hear.
"I'm here. The bomb is deactivated. Did you find Vindi?" I asked. I held the intercom up to my mouth with my other hand.
"Deactivated as well. Are you okay?" Ani asked worriedly. Ahsoka's blue eyes stared into mine. "She's fine master, and so am I!" Ahsoka sarcastically yelled, making Anakin chuckle lowly. "Just be safe." He said, hanging up the call.

Eight
His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year old body on another world. The first book focuses on Eight's survival on a dangerous new world. If you're a fan of Gary Paulsen's Hatchet, you'll enjoy it. The story is one of discovery, bushcraft, and finding one's way. Note that, while this is very much LitRPG, progression is slow, and Eight spends much of the first book alone. The second book recounts what happens when Eight and friends head east to the village of Voorhei. Expect a blend of fantasy adventure, ghost story, cozy mystery, and family drama. Books one and two make a complete story, while book 3 has just gotten underway.

Beyond the Veil
Martin's life would never be the same. He somehow survived a massacre by shady men in black, only to discover they were conspiring with the police. What was he going to do now? But where one life ends, another life begins. One that will learn of magic, and the world beyond the veil. This is a complete rewrite of my first story, The World Beyond the Veil. This is not the same story. Not even a single sentence has been copy-pasted from the original fiction. Readers of the original will recognize a lot of elements, but there are more and more differences as the story progresses. The fiction is planned as a trilogy. The first volume is published. Regarding one of the tags:Sexual Content: There are no explicit sex scenes in the story. On the other hand, it is definitely a story meant for an adult audience, with plenty of references to sex and genitalia. If you're not comfortable with that, maybe steer away from this story. I am very interested in feedback. Let me know if you spot a plot hole or something else that seem off to you.
