《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 38: Padawan

"The shield generator is somewhere in this area." Obi-Wan pointed to the hologram map in the center of the table. The separatists now launched an energy shield, making it impossible to get around or through.
"They're slowly increasing their diameter and keeping it just ahead of their troops," I added, from afar, the red shield was approaching our base.
"Heavy cannons are gonna be useless against that." Rex sighed; he rubbed his chin. "As they get closer, I suppose we could try and draw them into the buildings. That might level the playing field a bit." Obi-Wan bent his back, marking down the points on the map.
"If that shield is gonna be such a problem, why don't we just take it out?" Zander asked. "Easier said than done," Rex commented back. Surprisingly Anakin smiled for the first time in a while. "Well, I, for one, agree with him." He coughed, trying his hardest not to let it get to Zander's head.
"Someone has to get to that shield generator and destroy it. That's the key." Anakin added; I roamed to find his eyes staring into mine. Though, there was no glimpse of joy in his eyes."Right, then. Maybe you four can tiptoe through the enemy lines and solve this particular problem together. Could be your first lesson for your Padawans." Obi-Wan smiled.
"Can do, Master Kenobi." Ahsoka cheered, a broad smile formed on her face. "I'll decide what to do" Anakin seethed through his teeth, annoyed. He placed his hands on his hips. I coughed, grabbing his attention, "Stop." I whispered, making him roll his eyes.
"If Rex and I engage them here, you four might have a chance to get through their lines undetected, here." Obi-Wan pointed once more on the map. "They won't have much time. The droids far outnumber us, so our ability to street fight is limited without using our heavy cannons. They will march forward under the protection of their shield until they are right on top of our cannons, then they'll blow them away." Rex information only made our determination higher than ever.
"We'll figure something out. Come on, Master, let's go." Ahsoka chined, making all of us except Anakin smile. "Let's go, Zander; we have much to do," I said, making him nod in agreement.

I walked beside Ahsoka, wanting to know more about her. She was young but was very smart. "If we survive this, Snips, you and I are gonna talk," Anakin whispered, making Ahsoka laugh. I, for once, had the opportunity to hit the back of his head, making him grunt.

"So what's the plan?" Ahsoka hopped down from the small seat she had made. We were on the top of another tower, overlooking the enemy's shield base. Anakin wore his binoculars the whole time, not speaking one word. During that time, I found out more about Ahsoka and Zander.
"I thought you were the one with the plan." Anakin scoffed, looking back at the group, dodging to make eye contact with my eyes. "No, I'm the one with enthusiasm. You're the one with experience, which I'm looking forward to learning from." Ahsoka said, holding the sides of her backpack in which she carried all her "necessities".
Anakin looked over his shoulder, forming a weak smile before it quickly faded. "Well, first, we need to get behind that shield, then get past their tank lines," Anakin said, going back to his binoculars.
"Why don't we go around them? Outflank them?" Zander spoke up, standing from the place he was kneeling. "That'd take too long," I added, making his lips scruff up together. "How about we sneak through the middle of them?" Zander chirped; Anakin turned around, balling the young boy.
"Impossible. Unless you can turn yourself into a droid." Anakin scuffed once more, turning back around. "Alright, you win." Zander laid his chin upon his hands, leaning against the railing. "Actually, I have a plan!" Anakin shouted, lifting his head from his thoughts.
"Alright, come on, Zander, time to learn!" Ahsoka yelled, jumping up and heading back down the tower.
"So what's your genius plan?" I asked, walking to stand beside Anakin. "See those boxes?" Anakin pointed at two boxes in the distance. "Yeah?" I asked, confused, "we are gonna get inside them and wait for the Seepies to walk around us." Anakin said smirking, making my eyes widen up.

Minutes passed as Zander, and I clumped up underneath a box. We waited for the separatist fleet to stroll by, hoping one of their tanks doesn't squish us. We lifted the box enough to see the tanks walk along, distancing themselves from us.

"Well, time to move," I whispered. We both crawled slowly, following Ahsoka and Anakin in the other box in front of us. The sounds of blaster and explosions came from a distance; they must have reached Obi-Wan by now.
As a few more minutes passed, the sound of metal crashed down, catching Zander and me by surprise. We slowly lifted the box to find Ahsoka and Anakin standing in front of a droideka. "See what I mean?!" Anakin yelled, making Ahsoka fall back onto the ground.
"Get up!" I yelled, lifting the box standing up. The droideka began to shoot in every direction. All our sabers were out and deflecting every blaster shot. "We can't beat its shield!" Ahsoka grunted slowly, getting exhausted by the minute.
"Run!" Anakin yelled, making all four of us run back. "Ahsoka, stop!' Anakin yelled again. "Make up your mind!" Ahsoka teasingly cried, making me laugh. "I said, stop!" Ani yelled once more, making Ahsoka stop right in her tracks as well as Zander and me.
With doing so, Ahsoka pulled her saber, slashing the Droid who had taken down its shield. "Good job, Ahsoka!" I yelled, running towards the young girl taking her in for a hug. "Good. You take direction well." Anakin sighed, retracting his saber back into his belt.
We quickly rubbed off the dirt that had formed when crawling underneath the boxes. We climbed up some rubble that would lead to the separatist generator. "There it is. Come on!" Ahsoka cheered as the base of the generator was now in sight.
We ran towards the core of the shield, "stay close. We've gotta be careful." Anakin calmly said, grabbing the front of my hand. "Come on!" Ahsoka yelled, sliding through, "Wait!" Anakin yelled, holding out his hand.
"Why? We're almost there." Ahsoka yelled, running towards the generator, but tripping over trap wires. From beneath the ground came out protector droids. "Ahsoka! Forget about the droids! Set those chargers!" I yelled as I ran my way towards the center.
Anakin and I started to take on the droids that were appearing from every angle. More and more came out from the ground, "Sorry!" Ahsoka shouted. She has slashed the body of a droid, making it roll onto more tripwires. "Whose side are you on, anyway?" Anakin yelled sarcastically, going back to fighting droids.
"You could have gotten us killed!" Anakin yelled angrily as soon as all the droids were defeated. "I know what I'm doing!" Ahsoka yelled back, making him roll his eyes, "I had everything under control!" Ani yelled harshly. I knew his words would impact Ahsoka dearly.
"Did you get the chargers set!" Anakin asked, making Ahsoka roll her eyes for the first time. "Yes!" Ahsoka crossed her arms, standing in front of Anakin. "Then what are you waiting for?" Anakin mimicked her movements, crossing his arms the same way she did.
Meanwhile, Zander and I stood on the sidelines watching the argument unfold. Ahsoka pressed the activator on her wrist, making the charges explode. The red shield came down in an instance.
Ahsoka sat on the broken sidewalk pulling off her backpack; she hung her head down in defeat. "Anakin," I called out his name, making him walk towards me with a wide smile. "You did great." I smiled back, making him hug me in an instance.
My eyes darted towards Ahsoka again, "You were a little too harsh; maybe you should speak to her." I whispered, making Anakin sigh softly while shaking his head. "I know, I'll be right back," he whispered, slowly walking towards Ahsoka.
"Well, I guess our work here is done," Zander said, placing his hand on my shoulder. "You did well, Padawan" I said making him smile. "I know I was a little quiet, but I was just stunned" Zander said quietly. I lifted an eyebrow confused. "Stunned?" I asked making him scratch the back of his neck. "By uh I think the ship is finally coming!" Zander shouted making my head look up into the sky.
My mouth made an 'o' shape before my eyes redirected back on Ahsoka and Anakin, who seemed to be in better conditions. "Rex is here," I said, looking back up at the ship that was landing.
"Great job, General, Skywalker, and General Amidala. You too, kid." Rex said as all four of us made our way onto the ship.
