《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 32: Trench

"Thank you for waiting, sir. I'm sorry to hold both of you up." Yularen said as he ran in our direction. Before Anakin and I were about to take off, a clone trooper informed us to halt on the mission temporarily. Admiral Yularen had crucial information we needed to know before taking off.
"No apologies admiral, what have you got?" Anakin said as we walked toward the front of the ship. "Something about this morning's engagement struck me familiar, so I did a bit of research," Yularen said, taking out his digital monitor. "And?" Anakin asked; we were walking up the railing to the ship before Yularen spoke again. "I believe the opposing commander is none other than Admiral Trench," Yularen said, stopping both Anakin and me on our feet.
"If I remember my military history, wasn't he vaporized at the Battle of Malastare Narrows?" Anakin asked, his eyebrow were slightly lifted. "That's what I thought, too," I said, remembering the time when I was in the Jedi history archives.
"The tactics employed, the efficiency of the droids' maneuvers, and then there's this." Yularen gave Anakin the monitor in his hands. He was showing him the symbol of the Admiral's Trench. Both Anakin and I glanced at each other, knowing well the symbol belonged to none other than Admiral Trench.
"The last time I saw that symbol, well, let's just say I lost a lot of good men that day." Admiral Yularen said sadly. He hung his head down low as we all continued our walk. "What do I need to know?" Anakin asked.
"I have seen his work firsthand. A corporate fleet was blockading Malastare, a fleet led by Trench. That's why I recognized the tactics. He tore our ships apart. We barely escaped with our lives. In the end, the Jedi-led task force moved in to settle the matter. Trenches ship was destroyed. And we assumed he went down with it." Yularen said, making Anakin and I think of possible solutions to the matter. "Are you sure it's him?" I asked, making Yularen nod in agreement. "It's possible. Not every captain goes down with his ship." He added.

"Well, we may be in luck then, Admiral. Anakin and I's orders are not to engage Trench to deliver supplies to senator Organa." I said, smiling weakly; I knew deep down inside I hope the Admiral can somehow change our orders. I walked up the stairs that led to the chairs Anakin and I were once in.
"With all due respect, General, I do not believe we will have a choice in the matter. If it is indeed Trench, he will come for us." Yularen walked up the stairs stopping halfway. I turned the chair around confused, "us?" I asked, tilting my head. "Yes. I am volunteering my services as a consultant, General." Yularen said, making Anakin smile. "Welcome aboard!" Anakin softly shouted, giving the Admiral a thumbs up.
"Here take a seat right next to me," I said, patting on the chair. Anakin and a clone trooper were on the front chairs directing the whole ship. Anakin was one of the best pilots I had ever known. He always bragged about being the best, but to see him in action was incredible. He still pulled the best tricks in the air, but it usually resulted in the ship being blown to bits and pieces.
"Everyones on board. We are go." A clone trooper in the intercom had spoken out. Anakin pressed a few buttons before speaking back into the intercom, "dispatch, we are powering up and ready to go." Anakin answered back.
The tops of the dock were slowly being opened. "Engage cloaking device" Anakin spoke again into the intercom. The ship was steadily maintaining a decent speed; about ten seconds in, the ship had gone into sheath mode.
As we approached closer and closer to what seemed to be Trenches cruiser, I sensed panic and fear. Not one ship has detected us or seems to know we were around. "Doesn't look like they can detect us," Anakin said, looking in every direction. "Let's just hope it stays that way," I said, squinting in the far distance. Though that was a mistake, incoming bombers were approaching at rapid speeds.

"General, we have incoming bombers with fighter escort. Enemy ships closing. 15,000. Fourteen thousand... thirteen thousand.." The clone trooper next to Anakin had spoken out. The map that was in front of him showed various ships all in a group. "What's our defensive capability?" I asked, getting up from my chair and leaning in closer to the front.
"We got torpedoes and anti-aircraft cannons, ma'am. But we'd have to decloak to use either." The clone trooper responded. I rubbed my chin, hoping to find answers; there must be a way to get past without them knowing. "Yeah, and if they don't know we're here, that will give our position away pretty quickly," Anakin said, fidgeting around with more of the buttons in front of him. My eyes glared back to the ships that had made themselves much closer, "have they detected us" Admiral Yularen said worriedly. He had gotten out of his chair as well, eager to see what was happening.
"Can't tell, sir." The clone trooper answered. This made the Admiral fall back on his seat, placing both hands on his face. "If we are going on the offensive, we must do it soon." the Admiral shouted between his hands. I looked at Anakin, who stared back in my direction; he smirked, I knew what he was about to do.
"Stay cloaked. Power everything else down. Let her drift." Anakin ordered the clone troopers, soon everything in the ship became pitch black. The ships were now coming in our direction, still in rapid speed; they seemed too close to turn around or move. "They're going to hit us!" Admiral Yularen shouted, covering both his eyes. Luckily, when the ships grew closer, they passed above us, inches apart from hitting us.
"They missed us. They don't know we're here." I said, looking at the scanners to confirm if they were coming from behind us. "They're heading for Bail Organa in the command center. They're going to bomb it!" Admiral Yualren yelled, making Anakin and I look once again in each other's direction.
"Anakin. I've just spoken to the Senator. They're in dire need of our help. Continue with your mission to the planet's surface. I will engage Trench's fleet with the ships I already have." Obi-Wan said, appearing on the intercom. "General Kenobi, with all due respect, you do not have the resources to engage Trench openly. He wants you to attack, you'll be walking into the trap." Yularen said nervously. "He's right, master. You won't stand a chance." Anakin said, backing up Yularen.
"Anakin, I've got enough problems without you becoming one of them. Get those supplies to the refugee camp. I'll worry about Trench. Just stay focus on the course and-" but before Obi-Wan could finish, the look on Anakin's face became enraged and annoyed. "Your tactics won't work. Prep torpedo tubes one through four. Fix range on Trench's command ship." Anakin said, making the Admiral's eyes widen. "Sir?" He asked, confused. "You heard me, Admiral," Anakin said, his eyes were different. I knew this face; he was about to ignore orders.
"What are you doing?" Obi-wan asked, his voice was now enraged. "Anakin?" I asked, confused. He glared into my eyes before wandering off. "We need to destroy Trench, and this ship has the best chance of doing that," Anakin said after a brief pause. "I want those supplies on the surface now." Obi-wan strictly said, making eye contact with both Anakin and me. "Don't worry. I'm on it." Anakin looked back in my direction, smirking before turning around, shutting the intercom off. Obi-wan yelled as the connection thoroughly went away.
