Chapter 15: First Kiss
I opened my eyes to find the sun blaring into the room. My dreams were slowly getting shorter. The screams were slowly fading into oblivion. I had no recollection of last night. Only I knew Anakin slept beside me. ANAKIN.
I quickly turned around and found an empty bed. Relief filled my whole body. Was it all just a crazy dream? I glanced at the huge mirror before me. I looked like a huge mess. I groaned and rolled back over into bed.
Padme had planned a lake ride in the morning along with some of her friends. She talked about taking a break from her daily cycle. "To adventure and discover into the wilderness of Naboo's most beautiful lakes." I replayed the words over and over in my head making me chuckle every time.
I wore a dress that looked like it would fall off in one sneeze. It was made out of bias-cult silk and sand-washed silk satin. The bottom of the gown was an ombre creating a beautiful rainbow effect. At the hem was a smoky lilac color followed by pinks and oranges until it reached a pale yellow color at the collar.
There were vintage-beaded tassels and shells used as a collar and arm cuffs. For the first time which seemed like a long time, I felt beautiful. I spun around in my closet watching the colors elegantly sway and mix.
I grabbed my lightsaber and finally headed toward the balcony where Padme and the rest waited.
*Mini Time Skip*
"Goodness, you look so beautiful," Padme said ecstatically, grabbing my arm and twirling me
around the ground. I bowed playfully, grabbing the ends of my dress. "I don't think the council would approve of this," I jested, nudging her arm playfully. She rolled her eyes, before laughing once more. "I don't think they would mind." Padme teased.
Within seconds, my eyes spotted the blonde walking down the stairs. His eyes concentrated on each step he was taking. My body became tense, remembering what could have happened last night. I felt my palms begin to sweat.

Suddenly, his eyes shot directly into mine. He walked down the last step and stopped at the bottom of it. His eyes widening, looking at every inch of my body, he widely smiled. "Ahh, there is the last one," Padme said, breaking eye contact. "Sorry, milady," Anakin bowed before moving towards the group.
"How about we start paddling?" Lila asked, sitting up from one of the benches. Lila was Padme's close friend from Naboo. Ever since kids, it has always been the three of us. On occasions, Sola would tag along.
We all nodded and made our way to the boarding dock. The breeze outside was still with no clouds in sight.
There were two boats ready for us at the bottom of the stairs. "Okay, Lila and I will take this one," Padme says pointing at the boat lined up first. "y/n and Anakin can take that one." she pointed at the second one. Oh no, this wasn't a good idea. I did not want to spend any more alone time with Ani.
"I think it's a- '' I began before Anakin interjected. "I think that's a great idea. Padme and Lila can have time to catch up. Y/n and I will be close in case anything happens." Anakin says confidently. God, how I wanted to slap this boy.
Padme and Lila nodded and boarded the boat with the help of the guards. Anakin looked towards me with a smirk plastered on his face. "Don't act like this isn't what you wanted." he purred, holding out his hand.
I glanced at his hand raising an eyebrow. "Believe me, it wasn't" I snapped, browsing my way up to his eyes. Anakin's face became enraged, his jaw clenching. "Just do as I say." he hissed staring coldly into my eyes.
I pressed my lips together wishing for words I can yell. "Are you guys alright?" Padme yelled in the distance. I looked to the boat to see they were a few feet away. "Yea, we're just fine!" I yelled, grabbing onto Anakin's hand angrily.

The four of us paddled along the edge of the lake, observing the mountains above us. The sun spilled a pool of crimson and gold, spilling light all over the lake.
I hovered my fingers over the water, slowly making them dance. I took a deep breath in taking every ounce of air I could hold. I looked over my shoulder and noticed Anakin was staring. "What?" I asked, making him shake his head.
I lifted an eyebrow and tilted my head. What was he so angry about? "You know you could just tell me why-" I began before Anakin chimed in and chuckled under his breath. "What's so funny?" I spatted the tuning fully around.
"You're so... beautiful," Anakin whispered. I gasped quickly turning back. I felt my cheeks burn up. "Looks like we are close to the retreat." I nervously said hoping the boat would speed up faster.
We made our way to a Villa Retreat that was close by. As we arrived, Padme had an emergency meeting to attend with the senate. "How about we check out the view?" Anakin uttered, without having a chance to say anything, he grabbed my hand and led the way.
Being at the retreat wasn't my first time, I came here when I was younger with my classmates.
We walked along the edge of the retreat, water surrounding the whole Villa. "We used to come here for school retreat. We would swim to that island every day." I said pointing to an island close by.
I closed my eyes remembering the moments I had with my friends. Splashing in the water and having swimming competitions. "I love the water," I said, opening my eyes.
We reached the end of the Villa, we stood below a tree looking out to the lake.
"We used to lie out on the sand and let the sun dry us and try and guess the names of the birds singing," I say leaning against the concrete wall.
"I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere." Anakin shared, playing with his hands. He looked at me and smiled before beginning again. "Not like here. Here, everything is soft and smooth." He purred. His breathing became heavy as his eyes landed on mine once again.
His hand moved against the back of mine, inching its way towards my back. I felt the same tense energy I felt last night. Only this time, I wanted more. I wanted more of his touch.
By now, my gaze was lingering on his lips and how soft they looked. His hand steadily moving downwards towards my waist. His lips formed into a smirk before his laps landed on mine.
The smell of mint and apples crept up my nose. He now placed both of his hands on each side of my cheek. Passion filled with each kiss. Without hesitation, I found my hands aggressively holding his robes inching his body closer to mine.
I had completely forgotten the current environment I was in. Anakin's lips made their way to my neck making me gasp.
There was nowhere I'd rather be, but here. And for the first time, I felt a sense of calmness.
That was until I heard laughing from the distance. I quickly realized what Anakin and I were doing. "No." I pulled back startling Anakin. I gasped as panic ran through my body. "I shouldn't have done that," I blurted. I rearranged my hair and tried my hardest to not look at him. "I'm sorry," Anakin mumbled quietly before Padme and Lila arrived.

Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero (Update 09/19/21)
(Updated 09/19/21) Hello and welcome. If you made it this far and the book title sounds interesting, I'm hoping you'll read a few chapters. Here's a sample from chapter 1 of "Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero."Slowly starting to wake up, I become aware. It's like coming out of a fog.Head hurts.Body hurts. There's a conversation in the room. This isn't my bed. Someone is touching my arm. I crack my eyes to look. She doesn't notice. Is she praying for me? Her hands do feel good…do feel... Slipping back unconscious, my eyes slowly close. I didn't notice the soft green glow under Jenn’s hands.*******************"It does look like he saved them or at least stalled them long enough for us to get there." says the man dressed more like a park ranger than an officer of the law. "I did think he was part of it at first" he continues "but the evidence shows he wasn't there and they were certainly fighting on that back road where we found them""I don't care who he is." says a woman as she enters the room. "He saved and protected my Jenn. I will make sure there's not a mark or a scar on him before he leaves". As she continues the few steps over to the men speaking, even though dressed simply in common clothes, there is no doubt the race of elves is in her heritage. The grace and lines of her form. The elegance and lightness of her step. She glances at her daughter, still watching over the young man in the bed. "Do we know who he is yet?" she asks no one in particular."Not yet dear" a man in a white coat responds. A handsome middle-aged man. Fit, but not that of a fighter or ranger. "I asked Talon to bring another identification stone with him. I was hoping ours was just broke, but it's reading the same.""What do you think is wrong?" Talon asks."I'm thinking we just have to wait until he recovers. I have heard of cases where the stone didn't work. Powerful spells can hide or wipe a person clean. I doubt he's a spy or a criminal. Spells like that are just too high level if, they're used at all. My best guess is, there is just some disconnect with him being unconscious. When he wakes, we can ask him or use the stone again then."I find myself waking up in a hospital bed. The attending Doctor finds it odd that he cannot identify my class. An Officer says I’m a Hero for saving a girl from being kidnapped, but he’s asking too many questions for my liking. I know an accusing tone when I hear it. I don’t remember any of it and I need to find my way home.Author’s notes. Original work. First draft and update of chapters 1-16. Inspired by various fantasy games and books. Written with a focus on character development and interaction. Combat, progression, leveling, classes, but no numbers or stats. I’ll try to keep the language clean, PG-13, no smut. I’m in the US, writing in English. Almost fifty chapters are completed as I pen this introduction. I intend to complete this story or at least bring it to a proper ending. I have a destination in mind. I find as I write, doors and ideas open, while others close and are discarded. The tentative release schedule will be once a week. I'm new to creating. My apologies now while I learn. I have not settled on a book cover or artwork, still looking for something that fits. Registered & Protected #20VjeKDv2U6nynW6
