《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 10: Palpatine

The sun was bright and burning directly into my eyes waking me. I looked down and saw I was still in my robes from yesterday. I must have fallen asleep meditating. I had finally felt the force. I looked at the time and noticed I was super late for the meeting. Great, what an amazing start to the day.
*time skip*
When I entered the room, Obi-Wan and Anakin were standing in the middle of the room. Oh god, they waited for me. I saw my Master from the corner of my eye as soon as I made it to the center.
"You're late." Master Windu said, crossing his arms and leaning back into his chair. "Sorry, Master. I overslept. It won't happen again." I say, he smiled and nodded.
"Track down this bounty hunter you must, Obi-Wan," Yoda says slowly. "Most importantly, find out who he's working for," Windu added.
My eyes scanned the room, trying to find something else to focus on. Inevitably, they landed on Anakin who was already looking at me. "What about Senator Amidala? She will still need protecting." Obi-Wan asked, breaking the stare Anakin and I had.
"Handle that both Padawans will." Yoda says looking at Anakin and I "y/n and Anakin, escort the senator back to her home planet of Naboo. She'll be safer there. And don't use registered transport. Travel as refugees." Mace Windu said.
Naboo? I haven't been there in a long time. Once I started my training, I haven't been back. I was excited to be going back home. Naboo was much more different than Coruscant. It was more relaxing and beautiful. At least I would finally be with family and friends.
"As the leader of the opposition, it will be very difficult to get senator Amidala to leave the capital," Anakin says.

Yoda placed his hand under his chin and sighed. "Until caught, this killer is our judgment she must respect," Yoda says, closing his eyes. "Y/n, go to the senate and ask Chancellor Palpatine to speak with her about this matter." Master Windu added. I nodded in response. That was the end of the meeting we bowed and left the room.
Why would they want me to talk to the Chancellor? We have only spoken a few times, we were never that close. The Chancellor took a great interest in Anakin.
They would spend time alone talking, but only once in a while would we speak alone. There were times I needed guidance when Windu or Padme wasn't available, he was there.
I made my way up to the top floor and arrived at a long hallway. There were guards at the entrance of Palpatine's office. "I'm here to see Chancellor Palpatine," I say to the guards who opened the door. Palpatine looked up from his desk and smiled. "Ahh, young y/n. How may I help you today." He says and opens his hand to an empty chair.
I smiled and made my way to the chair. His office was big and spacious, he had a tall window looking over the city.
"The council has asked if you could speak to Padme about leaving Coruscant. We sought it would be better if Padme returned to Naboo, for her protection." I say, he smiled and stood up from his desk. "I will talk to her. Senator Amidala will not refuse an executive order. I know her well enough to assure you of that." he says, still smiling.
"Thank you, your excellency," I said, before I could get up from where I was sitting he spoke again. "And so, they've finally given you an assignment." He says. I nodded in response. It was quite sad frankly, the Jedi never saw my potential. I was just known as the girl that was trained too late.

"Your patience has paid off," Palpatine added looking in my direction. This was my first assignment, even with Anakin along, there was no Master around.
"Your guidance more than my patience." I breathed out letting my head hang. Palpatine walked over to the window that was behind his desk.
"You don't need guidance, y/n," he says, he turned to face my body. "In time, you will learn to trust your feelings. Then you will be invincible. I have said it many times: You are a gifted Jedi." Palpatine says, walking towards the door. I got up and walked beside him. His words were calming, everything he said was perfect.
I smiled in response. "Thank you, Your Excellency." Palpatine stopped walking as did I. He smiled and opened the door. "I see you becoming a great Jedi, y/n, even more, powerful than Windu," he says, grabbing my arm slightly squeezing it before letting go and heading back to his desk.
Even more powerful than Windu? I found myself smiling heading towards the elevator. I can become more powerful than my Master.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
