《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 9: Drowning

I looked to my side and saw Anakin's saber ignited. "Let her go or you'll regret it," Anakin says, his jaw was clenched. His eyes pierced into the man's eyes. He was angry, this was a side I have never seen in Anakin before. "And who... oh a Jedi." The man says letting go of my arm. I landed on the ground, my hand was now touching my saber.
Anakin's lightsaber was still ignited, his blue saber glowed intensely across the face of the man. He put his hands up in surrender and slowly walked backward away from us. "Keep her. She's worthless to me." the man scuffs and walks away quickly.
The whole club was staring at us until the sound of another lightsaber was ignited. There was a scream that came along with it. Anakin and I made our way across the room to see the changeling on the ground. I looked at Obi-Wan who nodded and went to the side of her body.
I made my way to the other side helping her get up from the ground. I looked up and saw everyone was staring and whispering below their breaths. Anakin's eyes followed my gaze and noticed the club was completely silent. "Easy. Jedi business. Go back to your drinks." Anakin says reverting their attention to their drinks.
We decided to go into an alley beside the club. This would be the perfect place to ask questions.
I placed her back on the ground. Her face had scratches and her hair was messed up beneath her helmet. "Do you know who it was you were trying to kill?" Obi-Wan says softly. He was always good at talking and getting things he needed. Mostly everyone would nickname him as the negotiator.
"It was a senator from Naboo," she spoke up grunting now and then from the pain. Her breath was heavy and her breathing was irregular. "And who hired you?" Obi-Wan asks, the woman hesitated, changing from a woman to a creature. "It was just a job," she replied.
There was silence between all of us. I grew impatient, there was anger building up. I cared about Padme more than anything. I needed to know who was behind these attacks. I needed answers and I needed them now.
"Who hired you? Tell us." I yell softly, I gave her one more chance to say everything she knew. The woman looked directly at me, still grunting, trying to avoid the question. "Tell us now!" I screamed, catching Obi-Wan and Anakin off guard.

Even I have to admit, I didn't know where this anger came from."It was a bounty hunter called-" she began, but was cut off by a dart that flew directly into her. Her form changed back into a creature, she was no longer a woman. He talked in a language I couldn't understand, before I knew it, he was dead.
I felt the anger and sadness overwhelm my entire body. I was not upset about his death, but rather I was upset I didn't get the answers I needed. Anakin placed his hand on my back, slowly moving it back and forth. My body relaxed at each sway. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath managing to let the anger go.
Anakin picked out the dart and held it up to his face examining it. "Toxic dart." He says and looks to where the dart came from. I followed his gaze that made its way up to the top of a building. They were gone. "Get her up. We need to head back to the temple. The council would want to hear about this." Obi-Wan says, he stood up and headed to the speeder that was parked close by.
*Time skip*
When we finally arrived at the temple, it was still night time. I decided now would be a good time to talk to, Master Windu. I've never felt this frustrated and upset before. Master Windu always had a soft spot for me. He was understanding of my emotions, even though the others would say otherwise.
I headed up the stairs of the temple which lead to a massive entrance to the main hallway. There were a few Jedi who were still up. I thought of the places he might be located at this time. Maybe the library or the communication center. This place was massive, he could be anywhere. I decided to just ask through my intercom hoping he would answer.
"Master Windu," I say speaking into the intercom on my wrist. There was no answer. "Hello? Master Windu. It's Y/n." I say again hoping it would at least catch his attention. After a few seconds, there was noise coming through. "Hello, my young apprentice," he says, there was a lag in between his words.
"I was wondering if you have a moment to talk. I need some guidance." I say back. I was still standing in the middle of the hallway. "We will talk in the morning. Master Kenobi has informed me about what happened tonight. Be mindful of your thoughts Padawan. Connect back with the force, there you will find answers." He says and ends the intercom. I sigh, I knew he was right. I have been distracted by everything that has been happening. I didn't realize I strayed too far from the force.

I walked up the long staircase and turned the corner which led me to a long hallway. This is where the Jedi would have their room. They were quite small, but that's because we were never around to be in them. There was a war, there was no time to be resting. Only, today was my lucky day. I had the whole night to relax and get rest. I knew tomorrow would be hectic.
Once I arrived, I locked the door behind me and jumped on my bed. It felt great to just have time to lay down. I stared at the ceiling for a couple of minutes taking in silence. Suddenly, there was an overwhelming feeling overcoming my entire body. I felt as though I was drowning and I couldn't breathe. I sat up trying to clear my mind. There was a block in the force. The only thoughts overcoming my head were thoughts of the nightmare I had.
The screams and cries, I heard all of them. They were in pain, I was in pain. I heard a knock on my door knocking the thoughts out of my head.
I got up and peered through the eyehole of the door. It was Anakin, he seemed to be in distress also. "Anakin? Is there a problem?" I ask, opening the door. There was no answer, his back was slightly slouched. His eyes stared at the ground not looking up once.
Without thinking much, I grabbed his arm and pulled him into a hug. My hands wrapped around the back of his back as I rested my head on his chest. His heartbeat was slow, I felt his hands wrap around my neck inching my body closer to his.
"I'm okay." he slightly chuckled. I looked up from his chest to his face. He smiled looking down towards mine. His eyes pierced mine, we were still holding onto each other. "Oh." my face filled with realization quickly, my mouth formed an 'O'-shape as I looked back and forth between his face and his chest.
An awkward chuckle followed after an even more awkward pause. I pulled away quickly feeling my cheeks burn. I turned around embarrassed, hoping he would forget the whole situation.
"Did you have another nightmare?" I say breaking the tension. I turned back around to see him sitting on the edge of the bed. "There's something inside me eating away at me." He breathed, his hands tracing the pattern of the bedsheets.
I walked over to the bed, now sitting beside him. His eyes were at the same eye level as mine. The room was dark, but the moonlight shined perfectly on his blue eyes. They glistened. "What is?" I ask, he lets out a sigh and stands up and paces back and forth until he finally stopped and took a deep breath.
"Ever since you came back into my life, I feel like I'm drowning. You've been tormenting me." he began, his eyes looking directly at the moon. "I saw the way the men and women looked at you. How they wanted you, the way I want you." he scuffs, he turns around to face me. He slowly inched his towards me, grabbing my hands and holding them against his chest.
The tension in the room became bigger, I knew he was expecting me to reply, but I didn't have the words. I wanted more, I wanted to feel him. I craved every inch of me.
Suddenly, the voice of my Master filled my head.
"Be careful my apprentice. The ways of the force do not condone this." my eyes shot open. I knew being in love would be a distraction. The force was already blocking my vision.
"Anakin, we made a commit-" I began, but was quickly silenced. "We can keep it a secret." Anakin breathed out. I took a deep breath as soon as I could, a wide smirk formed across his face as I stood up from the bed.
"Anakin, wake up. We are training to become Jedi. It would cause a distraction." I say making the smirk on his face quickly disappear. "So you do feel something?" he asked lowly, his eyes darkening and his shoulders relaxing.
"Anakin." I breathed out making my way to the door. "If you don't mind I've had a long day and wish to get some rest," I say, he made his way towards the door before stopping once more before me. "Sweet dreams, y/n," he says weakly smiling, and disappears into the hallway.

Queer Tales From A Street Nominally Associated With Your Reality
The street is not from your world, and yet it's attached, clinging like a shadowy limpet to the edge of your London, your city skyline stabbing into it from above. Or well that's what we tell ourselves, no one who lives here really knows. We are after all just regular folk displaced from our original realities. Just a bunch of folks with queer tales from a street nominally associated with your reality. What to expect: - A series of interlinked short stories gradually unpacking the lives, complications and mysteries associated with those who live in the street - A weird pseudo-British setting where physics works inconsistently, and houses move position regularly - Stories filled with LGBTQ+ characters, and in particular ones on the trans/nonbinary spectrum - Potentially iffy grammar, I'm new to publishing my work online, so whilst I am checking things before posting it’s a near certainty that some things will slip through - A schedule of one chapter every two weeks.
