《Out-Flirt Me - Anakin x Reader》Chapter 31- That's Sweet

~Anakin's POV~
The droids told me that I could leave now, but I didn't want to. They had brought in new clothes for me and I changed into them reluctantly. I didn't want to leave, this was as close as I could get to Y/n for a while. I couldn't feel her and it felt like the light in my life was fading. Still, I knew that I shouldn't stay in a hospital room that I'm not using.
I got off the bed where I had sat in the same spot for longer than I'm willing to count. Then I left the room and looked at the watch on my comms. 11:21. I had been in there for so long but Y/n would be here for longer.
Peaking into her room, I saw the droids moving around her non-stop. All of her small cuts had small bandages and her arms had long thick sleeves made from bandages. I sighed and with shaky steps, I continued forward. She would want me to keep on living, she would want me to take care of our padawans. That's what I will do.
I walked into the library even though I didn't expect them to be there, I checked anyway. They weren't there. Now I assumed they were in bed but I sensed something that I couldn't quite place. So I followed it and it led me to the quarters, specifically Y/n's quarter.
My hand shook as it went to open the door but I got there eventually. Then I could see Ashoka and Auren sitting on the ground leaning on Y/n's bed. They were asleep, with a blanket and a book on their laps. Ashoka's head was on Auren's shoulder and they were both curled up in the blanket.
The blanket, with speeders and flowers. The blanket Y/n and I made when we were kids. They must have taken it out of a drawer along with the book. For the first time since this morning, I smiled a genuine smile. I knew they missed Y/n but if they could cope so could I.
I walked over and took the open book from Auren's lap. I put a bookmark in her spot and placed it next to them on the floor. 'Breaking the Rules' was the name of the book and I chuckled. That's a great book for our padawans to be reading, thanks Y/n.
After I pulled up the blanket on the two of them, making sure they were comfortable. I closed the door and went to my quarters that are just down the hall. I went into my room and lay down on my bed, closing my eyes. I just wanted Y/n back.
"Anakin," A faint whisper said from next to me.
I flung up and opened my eyes.
"Y/n?"
No one.
I was going insane.
I laid back down and cleared my head. I didn't want to be crazy, I just wanted her back. I just wanted to see her smile again and to see her eyes light up when she gazed at the sky. I wanted-
"Anakin!"
I shot up again and again there was no one. After laying back down I placed my hands on my head. Why did this have to be happening tonight? Are these the voices that Y/n talked about having to block out?
"No, those are different." It was her voice, I would always recognize her voice. "That's sweet."
"Leave me alone. You're not real. Y/n is in the hospital room.
"Well you're not wrong, she is there. But she's also here."

I placed my pillow on my face, "Stop."
"Anakin, just look up to your right. Don't jump up as you did before. Just look."
"And you'll be there?" My muffled voice asked.
"Part of me will be."
I took the pillow off and opened my eyes to the ceiling. Slowly I looked to my right and saw something blue. A faint blue force ghost. I sat up and tears clouded my eyes,
"You're dead, you died."
Her beautiful features looked confused, "No I'm right here and in the hospital room. Perfectly alive."
"Then I'm hallucinating, this is impossible."
I placed my head in my hands with my legs over the edge.
"Anakin, nothing is impossible if you try hard enough."
I chuckled, "You sound a lot like a Jedi Master."
"Well, I'll be one again once I wake up."
"And you will wake up?" I looked up and she had come closer.
"I'm trying." She looked at the floor.
"You should see our padawans, they broke into your room."
"I saw them, and it's not like I ever locked it."
"Did you talk to them?"
"No, I can't talk to anyone but you. They can't see me."
"What? Why?"
"We have a force bond, Anakin."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I thought it was obvious."
I chuckled, "You always were too smart for me."
She smiled, "Not really, you can just be a little oblivious at times."
I looked at her smile, it was beautiful and her eyes were beautiful as well. Even though she wasn't starting the sky, they still glowed.
"I wish I could kiss you right now."
"I do too, but that's one thing I think is impossible."
"You said nothing's impossible," I chuckled.
"Well, I don't think you can actually touch a force ghost. Even if they're not dead."
"Did you try to hug Qui-Gon?"
"Huh?"
"You've never seen him?"
"No, why? Have you?"
I chuckled, "I'm not the only oblivious one. Qui-Gon follows you almost everywhere and he appears pretty often."
"What?"
I chuckled again, "He'll come up behind you and watch what you're doing. Like when you were fighting Dooku on Tatooine and Dooku kept looking over your shoulder."
"He saw his former padawan." She muttered.
"Yeah," I knew he appeared when Y/n killed that with lord but I didn't want to bring that up, "So, how's life as a force ghost?"
"It's pretty fun, but not permanent."
"I hope not."
She chuckled, "Yeah, I get to float around but not much else." She looked out the small window in my room and saw the sky. Her face was illuminated before turning back to me. "I should probably head back to my body, I'm not sure how long in supposed to be away."
"Oh, okay."
"I'll be back, don't worry. Just take care of Ashoka and Auren."
She smiled and I returned a soft version of hers, "I will and I love you."
"I love you too, bye!"
She waved and disappeared like it was a simple hologram and I was alone again. Her force signature disappeared just as she did.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up in the morning hoping to see Y/n again, but she didn't appear. I had gotten ready and headed to her room to see if our padawans were still there, they were. Auren was putting the book back in the bottom drawer while Ashoka sat with the blanket on her lap. She was still waking up and rubbing her eyes.
Auren looked at me when I opened the door and her mouth split in surprise. She quickly put the book back in the drawer and closed it.
"Hey, Master Skyguy." She said as she slid on the floor toward Ashoka.
"Don't worry, how do you think the book ended up next to you with a bookmark?"
"Oh, that makes sense."
Ashoka took the blanket and folded it up. She gave it to Auren who began to put it in the drawer but stopped.
"Do you know who drew these?" She asked pulling out white crinkled pages.
She reached out and I took them while sitting down on the floor just inside the door.
"Oh yeah, these are mine."
Her jaw dropped, "Yours like you drew them?"
"Yeah," I looked through the drawings of Y/n before handing them back to Auren.
"So you really like drawing Master Y/n then, huh?" She raised her eyebrows.
"She liked drawing flowers. I liked drawing people and she was always there so I had an inspiration."
"Did you guys hand out a lot as younglings?"
"Oh yeah, we were inseparable until I was fourteen."
"What happened when you were fourteen?"
"I went on a mission off-world and didn't say goodbye. So she got mad at me and we didn't talk again until five months ago."
"Oh."
Ashoka had woken up and looked at me in surprise. "You didn't try to talk to her?"
"I did, but she never responded to my calls."
"That doesn't sound like her." Auren looked at Ashoka and she nodded.
"I know, but I get it. She was mad at me. Come on, you two should eat."
I stood up and they followed me out the door.
"Wait," Auren said as she caught up to me, "Why did she keep all those drawings and the blanket if she was mad at you?"
"I don't know why she kept some of them, but she burnt others."
"So there were more?" Ashoka asked from my other side.
"Yeah, a lot more."
The girls chuckled behind me as I walked into the mess hall. Obi-Wan was sitting at a table and I looked back at the girls,
"You two go hop in line, I'll meet you over there in a minute."
"Okay," They walked off as I went over to Obi-Wan.
I sat down across from him and he examined me,
"What?"
"Nothing, you just seem a lot happier than the last time something like this happened."
"Well, that time we didn't even know if she was alive. Now, we know she's alive and will be alright."
"Anakin-"
"Don't worry, Master. Everything will be normal again soon." I stood up and hopped in line.
I grabbed the food that I wanted and headed to Obi-Wans table where the girls had already sat down.
"Oh yes, they hung out in the garden almost every night. Way past the youngling's curfew."
The girls chuckled,
"Are you spreading rumors about me, Master?"
"Oh, Anakin, I didn't see you there."
I shook my head and sat down next to him as the girls sat across from him.
"How did they make the blanket?" Ahsoka asked Obi-Wan.
"The one with speeders?" The girls nodded, "I took them on a 'mission' and they suddenly escaped to run to a fabric store."
"Oh yes, very suddenly." I chuckled.
I had taken another bite of my food when everything went dark. The lights were off and I thought to Obi-Wan,
Has this ever happened before?
Not that I can remember.
I sat there for a few seconds waiting for it to turn back on. When I realized, if the lights are out, the power's out. If the powers out, the medical wing...
I jumped up from my seat and even though I couldn't see anything. I took a lesson from Y/n and felt with the force. Running to where I could feel the medical wing, I ran into the hallway with windows. Now I could see the doors and I ran down to the one I knew Y/n to be in.
The locks would be useless without power so I opened the door easily. The droids were still trying to work even though one of them had powered off. Y/n lay there, pale and broken, then she started to seize.
Her limbs started moving rapidly and all the droids backed away. I tried to run toward her but they stopped me,
"Trying to stop her movement will only cause injury to you or her."
I stopped running against them and waited for her to stop. My heart beats faster than it does in battle, my mind was spinning, and my hands were sweaty. After what felt like forever, she stopped and the droids went back to her sides.
The power went back on and Obi-Wan showed up at the door. He walked in and grabbed my shoulders even though I was still looking at Y/n,
"I thought I told you to stop running off like that."
I didn't respond I just looked at Y/n, she looked so helpless laying there.
"Anakin," I looked at him, "We have to accept reality."
"But I talked to her."
"That's impossible, Anakin."
"That's what I said but she was there as a force ghost."
"What, you aren't making any sense?"
"Anakin," A small voice whispered and I looked to my left.
She was awake and had opened her eyes.
"Y/n, your awake." I smiled but she looked confused.
"I'm sorry, I just heard what I assumed to be a name."
"What?" I asked stepping toward her.
She backed up on her bed, "I'm sorry, do I know you?"
"Yeah, you do. My name's Anakin Skywalker and yours is Y/n (y/l/n) or Kryze. I'm not sure which you prefer."
"What?"
"Anakin, you're confusing her," I stopped backhand Obi-Wan stepped forward, "Do you remember anything?"
She thought for a second, "No, there's nothing."
"As Anakin has told you, your name is Y/n (y/l/n). But you recently found your family whose last name is Kryze. You are a Jedi Master with a padawan named Auren Dymos."
"I'm sorry, I-"
"It's okay," I said, "you were born on Mandalore and have two older sisters. Satin Kryze and Bo-Katan Kryze. Our padawans are friends, her name is Ashoka Tano. We have a friend who is the Senator of Naboo, Padme Amidala."
"I can't remember anything."
"Okay," I stepped back and stepped out of the room.
Leaning against the wall, I could still hear Obi-Wan talking.
"You really don't remember anything?" He pleaded, I could hear the pain.
"No, I'm- I'm sorry." She was scared, so so scared and it hurt.
Everything was so loud the machines, the droids, my breathing. She doesn't remember. She doesn't remember me. I wasn't enough for her to remember. I gripped my hair and pulled on my scalp.
"Master?" Ashoka asked from down the hall.
I released my hair, that now hurt, and looked at her. Tears filled the corners of my eyes but I stopped them.
"What happened? Is she alright?" Auren came running in behind her.
I muttered, "She doesn't remember."
"What?"
"She's awake but she doesn't remember us."
"She's awake?" Ashoka smiled.
"She doesn't remember?" Auren's eyes fell to the ground as Ashoka looked back at her.
Then she looked back at me, "What? How could she not remember us?"
"I don't know Snips, I don't know."
They both went to her window as Obi-Wan tried to talk to her,
"It's okay, just get some rest." He began to walk out of the room and saw Ashoka and Auren peeking in.
The door opened and he walked out. The girls looked to him for an explanation and he shook his head. The door closed and he began,
"The droids will try to find an explanation but right now, she doesn't remember anything." He messed with his hair as he avoided eye contact, "I should go tell Satine." With that, he walked out of the hall.
The girls kept on peaking in and she looked back at them. Her eyebrows furrowed and she tilted her head. They both backed up from the window and tried not to cry as they walked out of the hallway. I hated seeing them like this but I was in the same mood as them.
I walked out of the hallway slowly and thought about seeing her last night. She told me she would be alright. I guess she is awake but I wasn't expecting this. I walked to my room and sat on my bed, gripping my hair in my hands. I'm grateful that she's alive but I don't know if I can handle this.
Someone knocked at the door and I sat up, "Come in."
Obi-Wan opened the door and leaned against it with his arms crossed. He looked at me and then at the floor.
"Did you tell her?"
"Yes, she knows."
A silence drifted in for a few seconds before I asked,
"Do you think she'll get her memories back?"
"Anakin," He sighed, "I'm no medical professional. All I know about amnesia is that it very much depends on the situation. She may get them back but if it's worse than that she may never remember anything."
I just stared at the floor and tapped my foot,
"If a person has amnesia, can a place bring up memories?"
"I believe so, a place, and action. Anything that reminds them directly of their past."
"Would they come back all at once?"
"They could, or they could come back in flashbacks."
"Okay, thanks."
"I'll give you some time alone," He began to walk out.
"Wait," He stopped, "do you know where the girls are?"
"I think they're in Y/ns room."
"Okay, thanks."
"Don't do anything stupid, Anakin."
"Don't worry, Master." I half-heartedly smirked and he shook his head.
He left the room and I sat for a few more minutes. I knew what to do. I knew what Y/n would do if I was like this.
I stood up and exited my room, making a direct path to Y/ns. Auren and Ashoka were inside and when I opened the door I saw them sitting by the bed reading different books. They looked up at me with sad eyes and looked confused as to what I was doing.
"Come on, I think I know how to get Y/n's memories back."
Their mouths opened and they sat up. I opened the drawer and grabbed the blanket with the drawings. The girls picked up on what I was doing and grabbed some books.
"Get the lost Jedi one."
"Got it," Ashoka said as she stood up with an armful of books.
I had the blanket and drawings, Ahsoka had books, and Auren had small trinkets from around the room. Looking in her closet for anything with substantial memories, I saw the letter sitting by her suitcase. She read it.
Clearing my thoughts, I closed the closet and made my way toward her medical room.
"Are you sure this will work?" Auren asked.
"No, I'm not but I feel that it will."
Ashoka asked, "Is that enough to go on, Master?"
"Isn't it always?"
I got to her door and stopped, I had to face reality. It's what she would do, but not what I would do. I ignored reality and stormed in. She took her eyes off the wall and looked at me then at my arms.
"What's going-"
"You don't remember anything, right?" She nodded and looked at the floor, "That's alright, we brought you some stuff to maybe spark a memory."
She looked up at me and smiled, her beautiful smile. She wanted to remember, I could tell. I walked over and laid the blanket over her lap.
"You and I made this blanket when we were nine. It was my first year at the temple and I missed my mother. I was a podracer and you wanted to make something I liked her at the temple. So we made this, but I wanted to add something for you. So we added flowers that you liked."
She smiled at the sweet story, but I couldn't tell if she remembered anything.
So I continued, "The flowers you liked were from the garden, where we used to hang out all the time. We used to draw pictures while lying on the blanket. You," I laid down the pictures of flowers, "drew flowers that we're in flowerbeds. I drew you." I handed her the drawings and she looked through them, smiling.
Ashoka walked over with a book and outstretched it to her. She took it and examined the cover,
"You read this book to Auren and I when we were younglings. We followed you everywhere and always begged for you to finish the story. Together, we would play dress-up and make fun of some of the Jedi masters here." She smiled again, "You also had other books that you would read in your free time. Everyone knew that if they wanted to find you, they would have to look. Because you liked to read in weird places all over the temple."
Ashoka walked back and Auren came toward her,
"When we used to play dress-up, we would put on funny hats. One time you put on this green one and pulled it over your face," She handed Y/n a bright green hat that had wrinkles, "You talked backwards and talked like Master Yoda. We all started laughing and Ahsoka put on this," It was a brown mask that went over her mouth and nose, "She pretended to be Master Plo Koon."
Auren backed up and stood at the end of the bed with Ashoka.
"So, do you remember anything?"
Kelly really didn't want to go first. It didn't seem fair, Anne had four extra years to come to terms with herself surely she could be the one to test the waters? Well, perhaps she just needs a nudge? Or perhaps an accidental mention in a document no one is meant to read? Something her mum might happen to find? A companion book to Instrumental, can be read as its own story but I think really works best after reading the first book.
