《Out-Flirt Me - Anakin x Reader》Chapter 6- Late Night Talking
Advertisement
~Back to Your POV~
The rest of the night was more fun then you have had in a while. After you told Anakin about his burnt drawings and he calmed down, you guys just talked for the rest of the night. You talked about Obi-Wan drinking on the job and Anakin told you stories from when you were apart. You told Anakin that you had gotten in a fight with your master and that you regretted it, a lot.
Eventually you fell asleep with your head on his lap and you woke up in your bed so he must've carried you here. I would do anything to see him shirtless again. You rolled over and looked at a clock on the wall, it was 7 am. Normally you would try and sleep in longer but you had to meet with the council this morning at 9.
So you got up, changed out of your robes from yesterday which were a loose sand colored tunic, white pants, knee high tan boots, and your black belt. You basically only owned several versions of this outfit, but you had some dresses and civilian wear that you kept from missions. You took your hair down since it was still in a ponytail, but now it was messy and your padawan braid was somehow twisted around.
Once you finished, you attached your lightsaber to your belt. It was sitting on your nightstand which means Anakin must've taken it off of you. The thought of Anakin's arms wrapping around your waist made you feel something, but you weren't sure what. Sure you had been with a bunch of guys for missions but none that you actually liked. And you never told the guys at the temple about your crush because none of them would break the 'no attachments' rule.
You walked out of your guest room and found Anakin sitting on the couch, probably waiting for Obi-Wan.
"Hey, Ani." You exclaimed as you walked towards him and rubbed am eye with your hand. You yawned as you sat down next to him.
"Hey, sleepyhead. Still tired?" He asked while giving you his lopsided grin. You leaned against his shoulder and moved a bit to get your head comfortable.
"Yeah, and your very comfortable. I may fall asleep again."
"Then I'll have to wake you up when Obi-Wan gets here."
"Don't wake me up, just carry me to the jedi temple. You can prop me up in a chair or something."
"Then you wouldn't give your sarcastic remarks to the council like you normally do. And that would be very suspicious." He chuckled at you, you knew it was stupid, you had to actually be awake. And your not entirely sure what Obi-Wan would say about Anakin carrying you.
"Well, I guess I don't get anymore sleep then." You opened your eyes and looked up at him, he was just giving you a smile but it was a sweet one. Not one of his smirks or mischievous expressions but a whole hearted smile. You gave him one back and he kissed your forehead. He had been doing it since you were young but now it felt different. It felt like it wasn't just platonic, maybe there was something else there. It's nothing, you're just imagining it.
"Imaging what?"
"Nothing." You yawned for the last time and sank your head back down on his shoulder. You heard a door open and you looked over to the noise. It was Padme's door, and she cam out and smiled at the two of you. You smiled back and sat up a bit so you weren't so on top of Anakin. He smirked at you and then looked quickly away before you could entirely read him. You'd bet that it was because it seemed like you and him were hiding something by being so close. But that wasn't it, was it?

"Good morning you two. I trust you slept well?" She smiled at you as she grabbed some food from around the kitchen.
"Yes, very well." Anakin responded almost formally.
"Yeah." You added less formally. Which Padme chuckled at.
"You're not a very big morning person, are you?"
"Nope." You responded to Padme. She was smiling at you with her usual kind smile. Anakin had gotten up and walked towards the window, most likely to check for Obi-Wan. It was almost 8 o'clock now, he would be here soon. You stayed on the couch mostly because you were tired and Anakin was sneaking glances at you. You hadn't noticed at first, you thought he was just looking back and forth in the window. But now you saw his kind eyes as he peeked at you. Those eyes were amazing, baby blue that shimmered in the light. At the moment there was kindness, fondness, and something else you couldnt decipher.
The elevator gracefully opened and out stepped Obi-Wan, "Hello, are you ready to go?" He aimed his words towards me because you were the only one he could see from the elevator. Anakin stepped towards you and Padme followed suit.
"Hello Senator Amidala." Obi-Wan greeted while nodding to Anakin. It was time to go.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Do the mission, the padawans will." Master Yoda explained to Anakin and you with a cheeky grin. The ride here had been short and they told us that we would be taking Padme Naboo. Obi-Wan was trying to refuse the grandmasters orders, but orders were orders. They were now discussing how to get her off planet when they decided the Chancellor would be contacted. So they sent us out into the hall with bows.
"Well, I guess I'll let you two go explain this to the chancellor then Padme." Obi-Wan stated as he walked away with a confused look on his face. He wasn't sure about leaving Anakin, Padme, and you all alone but he couldn't do anything now. After Obi-Wan made some distance you and Anakin started laughing.
'Did you see his face!' Anakin had thought.
'He just doesn't want to leave his poor padawan.' You responded with mockery in your tone. Anakin rolled his eyes at you and you walked to the chancellors office. Anakin was talking most of the way there about an old story of Obi-Wan. The whole way your hands kept on brushing against each other. Begging to be held, but you both ignored it and continued to talk like the best friends you were. You got to the door of his office and Anakin just stared at it.
"I'll just wait out here since your basically his favorite." You explained as you turned to go walk away. He grabbed you wrist snapping your thoughts back to him.
"Don't get into any trouble without me." He chuckled as he let go of your wrist since you were facing him. Your wrist burned to be touched again but you ignored it like always. You just gave him a smile and walked away. You heard the door open and some polite conversation before it slammed shut with the weight of the large door.
Your leg hurt since you probably should've cleaned it and changed the bandages this morning. But no one could tell, you had it covered. Walking around the temple brings up a lot of memories, most good but some not so much. Master Plo started to walk by with Master Fitso and you waved.
"Hello, little one." Master Plo greeted, he had always called you little one and probably always would.
"Ah hello y/n!" Master Fitso exclaimed with his nice smile. In which you returned.
"What have you two been up to?" You asked as you all stoped in an open common room sort of space.
"Not much y/n, just master business." Master Plo stated formally. They both probably had missions that they couldn't talk about with a random padawan.
"What about you?" Master Fitso questioned with his hands behind his back.
"I'm actually supposed to be on my way to Naboo for a mission tonight." You felt it was alright to share this with them, they were jedi masters after all.
"Ah, I just saw you master leave yesterday for another mission. Will she be joining you?" Master Fitso had a confused look on his face, most padawans my age don't go to different planets without their master. That's why Obi-Wan was fighting to go with Anakin, but you and your master weren't exactly on speaking terms which also wasn't normal.
"No, I'm going with Anakin Skywalker." You explained hoping to get out of there soon. They both made noises of surprise, they both knew you weren't exactly happy with him when he left. They were some close friends of your and you had told them a lot as a kid. "Everything's alright between us, but I really most be going now."
"Goodbye, little one."
"Goodbye." They both gave a content expression as you walked back towards the chancellors office. Anakin was waiting outside, leaning against the wall. When he saw you he smiled and you smiled back. You weren't feeling as untroubled as you were this morning but he didn't need to know that.
"So where did you run off to?" He asked as you started to walk towards the hangar.
"Just talked to some old friends. How'd it go with you?"
"Good, he said he'd give her a direct order."
"Isn't that coming on a bit strong?" You questioned softly because you didn't want to insult the chancellor when he meant so much to Anakin. He didn't seem upset by your inquiring though.
"Padme won't leave if he doesn't, she's like you stubborn." He chuckled as he looked at you with a grin, you chuckled with him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey Padme!" You exclaimed as you walked out of the elevator she was on the couch on her data pad like she was the night you met her. She was probably very busy with all her senator work, it was a miracle the two of you had talked like you did.
"You." Is all she said before she stood up and started walking to Anakin and you.
"What's wrong?" You asked quickly knowing exactly what was up.
"You know exactly what's wrong, I haven't worked on the military creation act for weeks not to be here when its decided." Even though you could tell she was furious she wasn't yelling at you, in fact her tone was very even and smooth. She was pointing at you mostly with a few looks at Anakin. He was kind of hiding behind you, definitely scared of angry Padme. You were too.
"Padme. Padme. Padme. I know you're really upset but we have to leave. Your life is in danger, and if we don't leave you could get seriously hurt or worse." You had a hold of her shoulders and she was staring into your eyes. She was still over the moons angry but she seemed to be calming down slowly.
"I'm going to go pack." She said calmly yet dramatically then she spun on her heel and walked away. You glanced back at Anakin who still looked scared and you chuckled at him.
"Are you going to be frozen there forever or do you want to go help Padme?" You questioned as he just stared at you.
"I think we should wait a minute." He explained very softly for some reason. Then there was three noises. Thud. Crash. Angry sigh. Padme must have knocked some things over in her anger and now you saw exactly what Anakin was afraid of. You both stood there for a minute before making your way to Padme.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anakin, Padme, and you had made it to Naboo along with Obi-Wan, a handmaiden, and some guy with Padme. You didn't know who he was and at this point you were to afraid to ask. Obi-Wan was talking to Anakin, lectures and stuff, while you were staring out the window. There was a beautiful courtyard outside with marble and plants everywhere. You pulled your hair into a ponytail just above your neck while watching a bird dance on a bushes branch.
"Y/n." You were snapped out of your thoughts by Obi-Wan and you started walking to him. Now you saw that Padme was getting lectured too.
"I know you both love getting in trouble and being reckless but not on this mission. There will be no other jedis and I will be on a different mission. Just please behave." He practically begged you and Anakin. You could tell Anakin wasn't happy about being lectured but you were fine because you had missed those master lectures. You normally got almost three a day.
"Of course, master." You responded cheerfully.
"Yeah master." Anakin chuckled out. He glanced over at you but you were still watching Obi-Wan roll his eyes. Padme was ready so she walked over with one of her suitcases in hand.
"Ready?" She asked as Anakin grabbed a suitcase and you grabbed another.
"Yep." You smiled, you knew you were going to love it here. Padme had talked about it back on Coruscant and they had so many plants everywhere. Padme started to walk out while you and Anakin followed then R2. You watched R2 bump along the rough ground when Anakin responded to Padme.
"Well, at least we have R2 with us." The droid responded with something translating to "and you better not forget it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You had made it to some house, presumably Padmes family to drop of her bags before going to dinner. You didn't see anyone and you had basically just sat them inside. You went to dinner at some dark restaurant that Padme liked, seriously there was like no lights. R2-D2 roamed while you three ate and talked, mostly about childhood memories. Padme explained where and how she grew up, with her being queen at fourteen and all. Anakin and you explained growing up at the temple with lessons everyday.
"Aren't jedi not aloud to love?" Padme had asked while you were telling her about rules and the jedi code.
"Well, we aren't aloud attachment." You tried your best to explain, "Not to people or objects. But we are encouraged to be compassionate since its essential in our lives. The only reason we shouldn't have attachments is the fear of losing them."
"But how can you love without being afraid?" She kept glancing between you and Anakin with a smirk on her face. Anakin hadn't said anything but he looked to be agreeing with what you were saying.
"Death and loss are apart of life, once you realize that you don't need to be afraid." Padmes smirk turned into a smile.
Once you left the restaurant you made you way back to Padmes family home. She said everyone would likely be asleep so best not be to loud. She showed you where her room was for safety reasons and then a room across the hall.
"That ones yours." She whispered.
You both walked inside and looked back but she had already went in her room. You looked around and there was a reading nook in the window with bookcases on both sides. There was a couch against on wall and the bed on another.
The bed. The one bed.
It had light tapestries hoisted to the posts and white sheets with white pillows. One either side there was bed tables obviously made for two people.
"I guess we get to share." Anakin smirked as he just now looked at the bed. Your face felt hot and you didn't know why.
"No, no I'll take the couch." You walked towards the couch and set your bag by it.
"Now what kind of gentleman would I be if I let you take the couch?" He was still smirking but now it was at you.
"Not one?"
"Exactly, so I can take it or we can just share." Both were good offers but you had to choose. He was waiting for an answer when you blurted out.
"We can share, I guess." You walked towards the bed and took you hair out. You shook you head to try and relax it but ended up running your hands trough it anyway. You heard some shuffling behind you but you were focused on the singular bed.
"I'm going to-"
You spun around and there stood a shirtless Anakin buttoning up his sleep pants. How did he change this quickly. You stared at him for a second before looking at the floor and walking past him. You could feel his smirk through the force. You grabbed your bag and walked into the bathroom to change.
This was gonna be a long night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You had made it to the palace where the queen lived because Padme had to meet with a council about democracy things. Anakin had gone in with her while you stayed to guard around the entrance. You pitied him right now, he had to be in there with all the politics. Jedi didn't know much about politics but they had to know a little since they're missions often coincided with it. Almost half of your missions had to do with a senator/ruler or someone close to them.
The gigantic wooden door opening snapped you out of your thoughts as you turned to face them. You had walked towards another pillar that was next to a window and now were walking towards the giant door. You saw the queen and Padme come out and then Anakin trailing behind. They were talking about how you had to trust democracy.
"So where do you think you'll be staying?" A political figure asked, it was a sudden change in topic but there was a padawan behind her. He was facing Anakin but Padme answered the question.
"I am planing to stay at the-" Padme was interrupted.
"Excuse me, milady but I'm in charge of your security here." Anakin explained from behind her. Not even a mention. You were stopped at a pillar close enough to them to hear but far enough to give them space.
"Yes but I lived here, I think my expertise should be used in this situation." Padme corrected him with a 'try me' expression on her face. Anakin deserved it he interrupted her but it was funny to watch.
"I was planning to stay at the lake country." She explained glancing at Anakin who looked annoyed. Anakin wasn't used to women stopping him or anyone for that matter besides Obi-Wan. He was used to people falling at his feet because he was the chosen one or because he was pretty.
'You think I'm pretty?'
Shit. You forgot Anakin could hear your thoughts and he was supposed to be focused.
'Oh I am focused.'
'On Padme, idiot!'
You could see him smirk at you from across the castle before turning back to the people speaking around him. They had stopped at and open area closer to you then you had realized. Padme looked like she was about done speaking so you started walking over. Padme smiled at you when you were about five feet from her and said a goodbye to the political figures who hadn't left yet. You stood behind her with Anakin, hoping not to rush her when she turned around and opened her hands.
"Ready?"
