《Solangelo oneshots》The bookshop

I was the weirdest looking 20 year old, even with the soulmate thing. My golden curls reached past my ears, but so my raven black hair, which was very, very straight and didn't want to be tamed.
Owning a shop isn't the best thing to do when you still have to meet your soulmate. Every day I had to check if my hair had changed.
I tried to get my coffee to cool down faster, so I could drink it easier. I hate coffee, but last night I got about 2 hours of sleep and I couldn't fall asleep while working.
The bell rang signalling me that someone had entered the shop. A little surprised I looked up from my book. A boy with raven black hair was looking at the books on the science fiction shelf. Wait a sec.... he only had black hair and nothing mismatching, not even the slightest. I sighed. I hoped that he would be my soulmate, I'm getting desperate, but he had already met his.
Hearing my sigh he turned around. He looked at me puzzled and for a moment his eyes were on my hair. He looked......... disappointed? He then asked: 'Are you alright? You look like you're going to faint.' 'Err, what, yeah I didn't get much sleep last night. Can I help you with anything?'
'O yes, I was wondering if you had a book about Greek mythology. My friend told me about this series where mythology is mixed with modern day life and I wanted to read it.' 'I'll take a look in the back. Some books aren't stored on the shelfs because there isn't enough space for all the books.'
I walked through the door behind the counter and walked towards the shelf with the R. I knew exactly what series he was talking about, it was one of my favourites. I picked up the books and went back to the customer.

When I came back the boy was studying my book and when he noticed me he said: ' I see you are devastated about the Malec breakup (). The mortal instruments are one of my favourites. O that isn't one series right?' 'no it's actually series about the same people and the second one is kind of a sequel series. You start with 'The Lighting Thief' and the very last one that was released was 'Blood of Olympus'. Next week the first book of 'The Trials of Apollo' will be released and the sale starts at midnight. Sorry I'm rambling.' The guy chuckled:' thanks and I'll defiantly be there next week. I'm Nico by the way. And you are....?' 'I'm Will Solace.' 'Well, Will, have you ever met one of your favourite writers?'
'yes, two days ago I met Rick Riordan at a bookstore owners convention. I took a picture with him.' I whipped out my phone and searched for the picture I meant. Nico looked at it for a few seconds, then said, surprised:' Your hair is not one colour in this picture. How is that possible?' 'What do you mean, it still is that odd combination of black and gold, right? At least that was the case last time I checked.' I wasn't certain anymore.
'No I'm not messing with you your hair is one colour, nothing odd about it.' 'Just like yours you mean?' 'I don't have one colour.' 'Yes you do.'
'I think we both met our soulmates today, Will. Have you left your shop today?' I remembered my dull morning, with only 3 customers, Nico included. I hadn't left the shop. 'No I haven't left the shop for anything today.' 'weird question but do you have security camera's here, so you can check when your hair changed colour.' 'Yes I do, but could you help me, there are four monitors and I can't pay attention to all of them at once.'

Nico nodded, and I led him to the monitor room, where except from monitors, a lot of books lay in stacks, and I mean A LOT. I turned the clips of today on.
The first few minutes, and I sped it up, absolutely nothing happened. Then first an old lady with grey hair and a bald man walked in and out, and lastly Nico came in. Nico and I collectively gasped. I looked at the Nico on the screen, whose hair was changing from black hair with golden curls in it to only black messy hair.
'Will, your hair is changing. I mean on camera. Look!'
Instead of looking at the screen I turned to Nico.
'Nico, I think you're my soulmate.'
Then I kissed him.

The Rite of Sanctuary
Dozens, if not hundreds of worlds were destroyed or damaged by what amounted to a industrial accident on a higher level of existence. Many people and places however, were saved at the last instant and hastily slammed together into a makeshift world held together with magic and hope. The director was assigned to keep the whole thing going and stole the idea of a RPG driven system as a placeholder set of natural laws. One he is constantly having to apply ad hoc fixes and updates on the fly. The main character and the church he worked at end up being one of the places from modern earth that got saved.
