[The 1st Mini Album "B6LLA"]

Bella: Hi. I am BELLA from ROSE QUARTZ and I'm happy to announce that my first solo album 'B6LLA' will be out soon.

[Q. When did you hear about your solo album?]

Bella: I think I remember when I heard it the first time. We are given a year's schedule at the beginning of the year. So in the beginning of this year, it was just on the schedule. It said that my solo album will be out in June. So I went... Wow, my solo album is coming out. And I just went, "Let's go get it!". I went back home that day and I started to let it sink in. My head started to get filled with things to do ahead.

For the last six years, I was always in a group of six. All the oldest five already debut as soloist but not for me yet. There was not a single moment, when I didn't have the members next to me. And to think that I am to do all of that by myself... I didn't think I could do it. I went, "Should I tell them I can't do it? Should we postpone it?". I suddenly got so scared. But you can't just not do it, you know? "I have to do it, so I'll do it." "Let's do it!" I thought. But the next minute, I'd wonder, "But can I do it?". And I'll think "Stop it. You got this!" I went back and forth like a million times.

It's not just a solo album, but the last solo album by ROSE QUARTZ members. I am releasing the last solo album from ROSE QUARTZ. After this album release, ROSE QUARTZ will open the new chapter and I couldn't shake off the burden that came with it. I felt certain responsibilities. So I thought, "Let's just try my best." And Bang PD told me this "Doing your best for your solo album is also good for ROSE QUARTZ and that great energy can spread." What he told me, it's really lifted me up. So even at times when my confidence dropped, I thought, "Let's just have fun." "Let's do my best!" So that's how it all began.

[March 2022 Recording 'POP!']

Bella: Okay! Before we started our U.S. tour, we had a meeting on the B-side tracks. The first round of B-side tracks were decided on the day we departed for the U.S... That's how this album began. I received all the B-side tracks before we went to the U.S., and I wrote all the lyrics during the tour. And after we came back, I really began to work on this album.

[Q. What is meaning of 'POP!']

'POP!' is about being bold and being honest with my feelings. I tried to sing it as lightly and brightly as possible to suit the summer's vibe. That's what I focused on. I recorded it two or three times, after getting Bang PD feedback.

Bella: To be honest, the mood for the last couple of ROSE QUARTZ title songs were pretty mature. But you know, the original concept of ROSE QUARTZ is girl crush. We all have that kind of vocal styles. We been trying girl crush concept then mature concept so I was given the parts which have to sound a little more... mature, so to speak. 'POP!' is really girly and bubbly. For the first time i heard the melody, I think "Can I pull this off?". This is kinda hard to me to singing cutely.

[March 2022 Recording 'NO PROBLEM']

Bella: Let's practice! All the members are at the practice room whenever I have a recording. Let's rehearse the song that I'll record today. It's not easy but it's not that hard actually!

Singing depends a lot on my condition that day. Same goes for stage performance. And I can brush it off like, "It's okay. I can do better next time." But recording is permanent. I have to listen to it when it comes out in an album so I really have to make it sound good. That's why I always get nervous before recording sessions. I cried and broke down so many times while I record. It doesn't matter what song it is I'm always nervous at the recording studio.

Bella: The songs on this album are not particularly hard songs to sing. The range is not as high as ROSE QUARTZ songs. So that was a bit easier. But the thing about solo songs is that I have to make sure the listeners don't get bored, you know? So I paid so much attention to details. It will definitely be a whole new experience for our fans. I'll get my spirit up and my energy up! Wish me luck for the rest of the recording!

[March 2022 Day off]

Bella: Today is Sunday, March 13th. It's my first off-day in a while. I don't really watch what I eat. But when I do, I tried to eat food that tastes healthy. IVY made it for me. It's sticky rice with konjak and chicken breast. It really fills me up and it tastes so healthy and delicious. I also eat something like this.

[March 2022 Hair Dye-ing day]

Hair-stylish: We have to upload your hair on Instagram. A lot of fans sent DMs about it.

Bella: Really? I went for so long without bleaching my hair.

Hair-stylish: Right.

Bella: I mean... it's my first time bleaching my entire hair in 3 years. I haven't done it since 'Fancy'. I mean... this is the right choice, right?

Hair-stylish: Bleaching returns after 3 years!

Bella: Wow... I'm so nervous! I chose this color and, what did you say about it?

Manager: That it's kinda boring.

Bella: What did you suggest?

Manager: Like this.

Bella; Seriously.

Manager: I think you should go for this color.

Bella: This color?

Manager: I mean, to make the whole bleach process worthwhile.

Bella: To get that color, I have to bleach more times.

Hair-stylish: Like four times. At least.

Manager: Don't look this way.

Hair-stylish: It looks so hot.

Manager: Yeah. I think you should go with this color.

Hair-stylish: It's suits the styling concept.

Bella: I mean, if it goes well with the styling, I can even bleach ten times. I'd do anything. Blue? Do you even know the styling concept?

Hair-stylish: I don't think so.

Manager: The styling concept requires light hair.

Bella: OMG, I think I'm gonna cry. Wow...! It's really getting bleached!

Bella: Hi! Hello! I'm on my way to the fitting.

Manager: The vlog that was posted yesterday was listed in trending!

Bella: Really? That's fantastic! It might not look like it, but I really tried my best at it. Haha. As CRYSTALs know well... I hate bleaching my hair. I just hate it. I never have any desire for it. But I wanted to try something new this time, so I tried it. How it looks right now will probably only be seen in this video. It just feels so weird. I must've taken like a million selfies yesterday. I called all the members. I FaceTimed with all the members. The reaction was... wow. You should've seen it. They all wanted to visit me while I'm on the studio and they were so excited. Especially SOFIA and AMY. SOFIA even wants to send a coffee truck. She said she always wanted to do it and asked if it's okay with me. Haha. I mean, they all wanted to visit me while I'm at work even before the bleaching happened. Like as soon as possible. And... ALICE told me that I should dye my hair dark.

Manager; Do you like dark hair?

Bella; Definitely.

Manager: Why did you pretend you liked blond hair? Because this album is a new challenge, and you wanted to try blond. That's why I said it. And now that you bleached, it just looks so good on you.

Bella: What should I do? I can't decide. It's my first time showing myself at fitting. I never thought to share it. I think fans might be curious.

[March 2022 Style Fitting]

Bella: How about this?

It suits 'POP!', and it is also versatile. I always wanted to show the side of me that fans haven't seen as a member of ROSE QUARTZ.

Bella: I think it has to come out to here. It looks weird if my arm bulges farther out than the shoulder pads. It can either go in or out.

Stylish: I think we can do without.

Bella: So take it in by 2.5 inches?

Stylist: No, it has to be 2.5 inches.

For the last 6 years, I can't even tell you how many albums we released with all different styling concepts. And I wore so many outfits. So It's kinda hard for me to feel that I'm doing something new.

Stylist: Cute!

For this album, I wanted to do something different, you know?

Bella: This looks for my body type. But this is different.

Stylish: Right.

When I had to decide, I tried to pick something different over cute, so to speak. So styling became more fun.

[March 2022 MD Meeting]

Staffs; Hi.

Bella: Hi.

Staffs; I'll walk you through the MD list.

Bella: Sure.

Staffs: And we'll get your feedback on the MD list. First is... behind the scenes. Like "The making of..."

Bella: Wow.

Staffs: And the album badge... has always been included in ROSE QUARTZ MD, so we put that in as well. Next is clothing. Overseas fans love the ones with portraits. Domestic fans like non-portraits.

Bella: I see. So I think it'd be great to include the titles of B-side tracks. But, would it also be good for my male fans?

Staffs: So we can include a couple of black items.

Bella: The color?

Staffs: Yeah.

Bella: Sure. I always wanted to do... an album for the photo cards.

Staffs: Like a collect book

Bella: Yes. Training set-up. And key rings. Hologram poca? Straps or tumblers? And grip toks. It'd be great to make a Panda-Be badge.

Staffs; The character?

Bella: Yes. Isn't it cute?

Staffs: Yeah, I like it.

Bella: Everyone thinks it's really cute. haha. How about we style Panda-Be like this album's concept?

Staffs; Oh! Right.

Bella; You don't seem to like it. Haha.

Staffs; Haha, no, that's not it. I mean it's work in progress.

Bella: Are you just pretending to agree with me on this?

Staffs; We might end up with like 30 different goods.

[March-April 2022 M/V Meeting(Concept, Storyboard)]

Bella: Hi.

Staffs; Hello. Let's begin the meeting for BELLA's MV.

Bella: Sure.

Staffs; We developed further from the idea that we suggested last time We'll walk you through the proposal, and we'll take it from there.

Bella: What does that set look like? I like black better. The first color won't work, in my opinion. It suits my image.

So during the meeting, I tried to give my input based on my experience. I mean, it will be me performing, wearing that outfit. So I was very proactive in giving my opinions as to which outfits would be more fitting. Certain outfits felt like it wouldn't compliment the choreography. So yes. There are things I accumulated over the years so I gave my input based on that.

Bella: Hi. So yeah. I dyed my hair for the trailer. I'll try my best not to give spoilers. The fans are asking for a photo of my daily life. Haha. But seriously, I have nothing to share at the moment. Bye!

[April 2022 Choreography Practice]

So when I saw the choreography, the great parts just popped out to me. It was so compact and well-made. I immediately knew which parts would stick out to our fans. All the members said the choreography is really good. It's really energetic. The song is really... super dance-oriented. So it might not be easy to follow the dance.

[March 2022 Jacket Shooting]

Bella: I think the blue outfit would be pretty, too.

Stylish: Right.

Bella: I was gonna pick one of these. I think this might be better since I won't be wearing a jacket.

It's hard to remember the album titles. I forgot a lot of our album titles. But since this album is my name, it will definitely stick with me. I think it will be for everyone. It's also that... having my name as the album title is a bold move. And so is the mood of my song 'POP!'. So I think it suits well.

Makeup Stylist: We'll do a clean line and decorate the under eye. And glossy eyelids. How do you feel about it?

Bella; Sure, since it's pretty busy here. It will be great to do it here. Yeah, I like it.

Makeup Stylist: I tried it on myself first.

Bella: Can we show it up close? I've never done this color before. She always tries it on first. Her face is like a palette. I rarely use anything black on my face.

Makeup Stylist: Right.

Bella: But this time, I'm using a black liner. And I rarely do cat eyeliner. But I'm trying it this time.

Makeup Stylist: Right.

Bella: So if you look up close, I'll be wearing cat eyeliner. I don't need shading when I wear blusher on my face.

Makeup Stylist: Right.

Bella: I rarely ever use shading. If my face looks swollen, I just put color on my cheeks. Rarely ever use shading. When I do, it means I'm really swollen.

Cameraman: Do you usually go on a diet before the album release?

Bella: I don't diet on a regular basis. But it seems like we're always releasing something. Haha.

Cameraman: I have something everyday. And all-year long.

Bella: But if I have to put on outfits for the stage... I watch what I eat. When I first saw the concept for Alcohol-Free, I knew I had to lose some weight. So yes. But when we were doing "I Can't Stop Me" I just lost a lot of weight. I think I was between 45, 46kg. I lost weight because I was dance and sweat a lot. During Alcohol-Free, I was 45KG. Is it TMI?

Hair Director: The hair color for the jacket is taupe gray. I wanted the hair to look... a bit dreamy. I wanted to replicate the feels of European women. So we tried to do that.

Style Director: To suit the mood of the song, I chose glam and pop. A bit like a Hollywood star. And a bit of luxury. And... since she is really cute, I wanted to accentuate that as well. Like cute and sexy.

Bella: So how many outfits do we have in total? For the album jacket, they prepared 12 outfits. They are all so pretty. I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. So right now, I'm wearing a towel. We made it from a beach towel. A really big towel. We're relieved that it fits!

Outfit Stylist; It's from its S/S collection from 2020. So we searched for it all over the world. We needed 2, but only got one. But since BELLA is petite, we were able to make it with 1 towel. But to make this, the patterns have to match. So we really needed 2 sheets of towels, and thankfully, the second one arrived later.

Bella: They really wanted to use this beach towel. And this is AirPods. The color wasn't this originally.

Outfit Stylist: It was white, but since we dye fabrics to suit the album concept, we dyed it like this. BELLA looks great with pastel colors. So we really wanted to use lavender.

Bella: I can't tell at all.

Outfit Stylist: We bought the outfit and dyed it. The highlight is the hat and the shoes, but they couldn't be dyed. So we hand-painted them.

Bella: Are you serious? I thought you bought them like this. Really?

Outfit Stylist: They were white.

Bella: What did you color them with?

Outfit Stylist: With markers.

Bella: Markers?

Outfit Stylist: Yeah, we hand-colored them

Bella: I had no idea! We were contemplating which one to pick. They always prepare 2-3 outfits with the same concept. They dyed this dress as well. It was white. They dyed it yellow. And on top of this, I'm wearing this. It was a hoodie, but they turned it into this top and arm warmers. To go with the dress. So for my first solo album, the stylists really worked hard for it. [April-May 2022 Trailer & M/V Shooting]

I'm pretty content. I didn't think I'd be so content once it's done. I expected myself to feel like "I should've done this and that." But working on it was just so much fun. I really tried to have as much fun as possible. And at one point, I didn't even have to try. I was just having fun. So... I think this album will be such a fond memory for me. The album is filled with feel-good songs. When I got the demo, I played and replayed some songs. I hope CRYSTALs like it, too! And I also hope your summer is filled with the happy vibes from these songs.

Upon the announcement so many people have cheered for me. And they expressed their anticipation. So that's when I realized that I am going solo. I am so grateful for all the cheers. We usually have such a busy schedule, and during those times, I get so much energy from the members. And to think that they won't be there and I'll be by myself, I honestly was a little scared. I was a little afraid. But as the time approaches to meet my fans, I am less afraid. And... I don't know. It still feels unreal. Doing solo for the first time... But I know the fans are with me. So I am relieved. I got so many letters while on tour this time. I read all of them after I came back to Korea. The fans were even more excited and more glad than I was. They sent so many congratulations. So all my worries just disappeared. The fans told me so many things that gave me strength. I am more confident now. I know I have them and they have me. and I hope this album would be a sweet gift for them. That's how I got the strength to finish this album. I really want to thank my fans. And to repay such love, I just have to sing my heart out and dance as happily as I can. So I will... do my best for my fans.
