Taehyun: Oh wow. This is the first time I'm seeing somebody say the full name properly

Taehyun: It really is an amazing service, just like the name of the program Find the Melody. It was so... I felt the warmest welcome and such a big shot artist covering our song before my eyes. Words can't explain what I'm feeling right now

Bella: Oh thanks. Nah a big shot... nah. How can you describe your music?

Taehyun: Our music? I think... One of our biggest forte is that we don't have a limit when it comes to genres. Like hip-hop, pop, rock, we do them all. And within the songs, the content is really creative. To be honest... when I first saw the lyrics to our debut song. I thought it was a joke.

(Laugh)

Taehyun: They told me the title first, one day I grew a horn. One of our members started recording and told me about the song so I was like. Don't play with me...

(Laugh)

Taehyun: So I asked him the most memorable line and he's like "My head is growing a horn". And till then I still thought this was all a prank. When I entered the recording booth I finally realized, 'this is really happening'. But we still manage to write relatable stories with those unique lyrics and subjects

Bella: And that uniqueness earns a place in people's hearts, and makes it un-unique, TXTish. And that what makes it beautiful. It's somewhat fun to us artist

Taehyun: Right, right

Bella; Before you started to sing, you said you're gonna sing as if we're in LA. Your song reminded me of America since we still in pandemic. Kinda brings back memories, if you know what I mean.

Bella: And in your team, you're in charge of the high notes. How do you take care of your vocal cords on an average day? Cause people who sing the high notes. Even though they master the vocalization to minimize the damage. There are probably gonna be difficulties

Taehyun: You're right. And sometimes... There were some serious damages to my throat. When you're recording, those vocalizations give an extra kick to the song. So that kinda gave me a hard time. But thankfully I was gifted with a healthy vocal cord. The doctor said it could just be me being young. But I'm just gonna do everything I want to

Bella: We're kinda alike... Doing everything we can while we're still young and giving great performances. I heard before TXT, you already made your broadcasting debut way back in the past. There must have been numerous opportunities other than a Kpop star. Why did you become a Kpop star?

Taehyun: I can't remember the exact situation, it was such a long time ago. I was a typical child actor on random advertisements. I've always wanted to be seen by the public. I wanted to be a magician when I was in middle school. Doesn't have anything to do with music, but it still gives a performance. Bedazzling, captivating, so in a way I think they're somewhat similar. But then, I always had a thing for music and I came across an opportunity to audition. Then entered our company

Bella: So it all came very naturally

Taehyun: Yeah

Bella: Along the way?

Taehyun: So I never found this job boring, not even once

Bella: Ah, it's the best.

Bella: Can you tell us about your next selection of music?

Taehyun: I've prepared Over and Over Again by Nathan Sykes. I recorded this song in my trainee days, when I was about 15? 16 years old? I uploaded it on YouTube right after my debut, I thought maybe the fans would enjoy seeing what I was like back then so I released it unedited. But I've never had the chance to do a live performance

Bella: Ah, so this must be very meaningful. I want to listen to it right away. Please give your fans what they deserve

Taehyun: The reason I wanted to be a Kpop star, was actually when SHINee first made their debut Replay. When I first saw the music video, I had like a million dreams, and Kpop star was added to the list. Like 'Oh I wanna be a star'. That's why I love SHINee's songs

Bella: Umm SHINee's songs... Can you sing us a verse right now?

Taehyun: Ah of course.

Taehyun: This... is how I did it

Bella: I heard, that you tried to copy their impression when you covered them.

Taehyun: Yeah

Bella: I can sense that right away when you sing their song

Taehyun: When I cover songs, I always keep in mind. "To mimic them exactly". Cuz our individuality makes it impossible to nail that to perfection. So the more you try to copy them, the more it improves the quality. I was preparing a cover stage for this song, too. I saw the original performance numerous times and tried to recreate that feeling

Bella: I also came across the fact that you write your own songs

Taehyun: Yeah I compose songs

Bella: Then are there any lyrics you wanna share with us?

Taehyun: Feels like you're gonna ask me to sing the song when I tell you the lyrics, so Imma just do it myself. I wrote the chorus, my lyrics made it to the chorus

Bella: How was it being on our show?

Taehyun: I was super worried at first because being here alone was new to me, being a member of a group. And it's a place for me to show off what I'm most passionate about, what I worked hard for, so I was really nervous. But everyone was so nice to me and your hosting was flawless
