~At a club somewhere~
A male was walking in the crowded place, music playing, bodies dancing. People drinking, having a good time. Laughing, smiling, talking, making out. In a blink of an eye, all of then were on the ground, dead. The only one that was still standing, was the young demon.
"See how you like that, take him away from me and I'll leave a trail of blood behind." He smirked.
~At a café, day~
Dean was flipping through a newspaper, Sam on his laptop, and (M/n) was drinking some coffee.
"Well, not a decent lead in all of Nebraska. What've you got?" The oldest asked his brother.
"Well, I've been scanning Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota. Here. A woman in Iowa fell 10,000 feet from an airplane and survived."
"Sounds more like 'That's Incredible' than 'Twilight Zone'."
"Yeah."
Dean smirked. "Hey, we could just keep heading east. New York. Upstate. We could drop by and see Sarah again. Huh? Cool chick man, smokin'. You two seemed pretty friendly. What do you say?"
"Yeah, I dunno, maybe someday. But in the meantime, we got a lot of work to do, Dean. And you know that."
Yeah, all right. What else you got?"
"A man in Colorado, local man named Daniel Elkins, was found mauled in his home." Sam said.
"Elkins? I know that name." Dean said.
"Doesn't ring a bell."
"Elkins....Elkins.....Elkins..."
"Sounds like the police don't know what to think. At first they said it was some sort of bear attack and now, they've found some signs of robbery."

Dean was looking through his dad's journal.
"He's a hunter. Friend of your father." The demon said, Sam looking at him.
"What? I know a lot more then you think there, Sammy." He said.
"There. He's right." Dean showed his brother the page that said Elkins name and phone number.
"You really think it's the same Elkins?"
"It's a Colorado area code."
~Time skip~
The Impala cruised down a road, snow capped mountains in the background. They soon got to Elkins cabin. It was night.
Sam slowly opened the door, Dean had a flashlight.
"Look like the maid didn't come today." Looking around, it was a mess.
"Hey, there's salt over here. Right beside the door." Sam looked and saw (M/n) standing by the door, looking at him. He broke it and the demon walked in and smiled at him.
"You mean protection against demon salt, or 'oops I spilled the popcorn' salt." The Winchester asked, flicking through the guys journal.
"Well, I couldn't get though the door a minute ago." The demon said, smelling something. He found that smell familiar, but couldn't put his finger on it.
Sam walked up behind Dean. "Looks a hell of a lot like dad's."
"Except this dates back to the 60's/"
Sam, Dean, and (M/n) move into the other room and shine their flashlights around the destruction, including up at a hole in the roof. They were unaware that a man was standing outside, in the shadows. Looking at the cabin.
"Whatever attacked him, it looks like there was more then one."
"Looks like he put up a hell of a fight too."
"Hunters are like that, their stubborn and don't like to die easily." The Winchesters looked at the boy in shock. "What?" He asked and the two went back to what they were doing. Dean crouched to get a closer look at the floor.

"You got something?"
"I dunno. Some scratches on the floor."
"Death throes maybe?"
"Maybe." He grabbed a page from notebook, placed it over the marks and rubs a pencil over it to get an outline. "Or maybe a message." He peeled it up and hands the paper to Sam. "Look familiar?"
"Three letters, six digits. The location and combination of a post office box. It's a mail drop."
"Just the way dad does it.."
~Timeskip to the Impala~
"J.W. You think? John Winchester?" Sam asked.
"I don't know. Should we open it?"
There was a knock on Dean's window. Dean gasps, rears back, automatically raising his arm, fit clenched. It was his father. When John saw he was shocked, he smiled.
"Dad?"
John got in the backseat with (M/n).
"Dad, what are you doing here? Are you all right?" The younger Winchester asked.
"Yeah, I'm ok. I read the news about Daniel. I got here as fast as I could. I saw you two at his place."
"Why didn't you come in dad?" Sam asked, softly.
"You know why. Because I had to make sure you weren't followed...by anyone or anything. Nice job of covering your tracks by the way."
"Yeah, well, we learned from the best." Dean looked a little proud.
"You are such a mysterious man, Winchester." The demon said to John.
"And I gotta talk to you later." John gave the boy a look that nearly made him wanna throw up.
'Shit, he knows.'
"Wait, you came all the way out here for this Elkins guy?"
"Yeah. He was....he was a good man. He taught me a hell of a lot about hunting."
"Well, you never mentioned him to us."
"We had a......we had kind of a falling out. I hadn't seen him in years. I should look at that." He motioned to the envelope and opened it. " ;If you're reading this, I'm already dead'((Cliché))....that son of a bitch."
"What is it?" Dena asked.
"He had it the whole time."
"Dad, what?"
"When you searched the place, did you, did you see a gun? An antique, a Colt revolver, did you see it?" (M/n)'s eyes widened.
"Ah, there was and old case, but it was empty.."
"They have it."
"You mean whatever killed Elkins?:
John got out of the car. "We gotta pick up the trail."
"Wait, you want us to come with you?"
"If Elkins was telling the truth, we gotta find this gun."
"The gun....why?" Sam asked.
"Because its important, that's why."
"Dad, we don't eve know what these things are yet."
"They were what Daniel Elkins killed best: Vampires.":"
"I knew it!" (M/n) explained.
"Vampires? I thought there was no such thing."
"You never even mentioned them, dad."
"I thought they were extinct. I thought Elkins and...and others had wiped them out. I was wrong."
~Meanwhile~
John was telling his boys about vampires, while these vampires were finding their next victim.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
