《Solangelo》Chapter 36

☀️☀️Wills pov☀️☀️
Hospitals, I loved them but hated them at the same time. I love helping people and fix them but in real hospitals everyone thinks I'm to young and won't let me do anything.
I rested my head on Nico's, which was leaning on my shoulder.
"I'm tired," he complained for the third time in the last hour.
"I know you're tired, but you didn't complain when we were fighting Gaea and you were worn out from shadow traveling so much," I replied
"Lectures don't help, I'm still tired,"
I sighed, lifting my head and stroked his hair slowly, running my fingers through the fluffy layers.
I watched as Cody paced the waiting room mumbling and shaking his head. Haha he's got it bad
"You like her don't you," I said and Cody jumped, flying 4 feet from where he was standing and started blushing
"I-"
"No, you do. I may not be the son of Aphrodite but I can tell if someone loves someone else,"
He sighed knowing he was defeated
"Ya," was all he said
"Don't worry, she'll be fine, I can tell," I reassured him
"Ya," he muttered and went back to pacing
After another hour of Nico complaining and Cody pacing the doctor finally came out
"Are you family?" He asked
"No, she doesn't have any real family left but I'm her best friend and this is my brother and his boyfriend. She texted me and we found her like that when we got there," Cody told him
"If you are the only people, then you may come in,"
Cody ran in Layla's room and went right to her side. I got a sleepy Nico out of his chair and dragged him into the room.

I stayed by the door listening to Cody and Layla's conversation to find out what happened
"What happened!" Cody exclaimed quietly kneeling beside the hospital bed
"My-my foster mother, I g-ot home and she hit m-me multiple t-times," she stuttered. I wasn't surprised, I have heard of some nasty foster parents people have had before they escaped to camp.
"Are you ok?" He asked quietly taking her hand
She blushed "ya, but I have a bad headache," she touched her forehead and her eyes glinted rainbow again, weird. Then something even weirder happened.
She put her hand on her shirt to see the bruises on her stomach but her shirt automatically turned rainbow. Like literally, it turned every colour of the rainbow, starting at red and finishing at purple. She looked as astonished as we did grabbing her shirt with wide eyes. Then my eyes widened even more when a glowing rainbow appeared over her head.
Layla was a daughter of iris. The goddess of rainbows.
We had to get her out of here. If they took her blood that wouldn't end well, so I grabbed Cody and Nico and huddled us together.
"We have to her her out of here! I know I would never normally ask this, but Nico, can you shadow travel us out of here?"
"I thought you'd never ask," he smirked and then yawned again
I had my doubts that I should get Nico to do this when he was so tired, but we have to leave.
"Ok, Layla, don't freak out. You are a demigod. Half Greek god and half mortal. We have to get you out of here so we are going to shadow travel. Whatever you do don't freak out and don't let go," I said as Nico taking her hand and mine, I took Cody's and Cody took Layla's. We then slid into the shadows and let me tell you it is not a good feeling.
