"Are you sure you will be okay?" Master Windu asked you as you both walked over to your ship. You were going back to Naboo to discuss the plans on the voting of the Military Creation Act with your sister.
The Military Creation Act was a big topic right now in the Galactic Senate and the Jedi Council. It was proposed by the Senate to allow the Galactic Republic form an army to fight the Separatists, otherwise known as the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The Separatists were a group of star systems who wished to leave the Republic and wanted independence from the Republic. They were starting to break away from the Republic and a war was coming if nothing was done to stop it.
However, it isn't a simple task to pass the Military Creation Act. There was the Loyalist Committee, which consisted of senators who opposed the Military Creation Act. Padmé, being one of these senators, was highly against the act. You knew why, because you were opposed to the act as well. As a Jedi you were a keeper of peace, and as one of the senators of Naboo, you understood very well that Naboo's ability to defend itself and wanting to decide its own destiny. A creation of a Republic army would a be violation of this.
But nevertheless, there was a lot of pressure on you as the one and only Jedi Senator.
You were the bridge between the council and senate. The Jedi Council entrusted you to make the best decision. The council wished to remain as peacekeepers and a last resort for protection. The Jedi are not soldiers and do not wish to serve as soldiers for this war. And frankly, there were not enough Jedi to protect the entire Republic.
However, the Senate was a different story. Because of your heavy influence you have on many of the senators, you felt like you were being torn in two. You did opposed the act and sided with your sister and the other senators. But you also understood that it was very likely this possible war was unavoidable. So there is somewhat of a need for an army. But there is your wants and beliefs you grew up with. You didn't want to force innocent people into a war, it would be against everything you believed in.
The senators that were for the act were very disappointed to learn that you sided with the Loyalist Committee. They desperately wanted your influence along with everyone else. They wanted your influence because you were the only Jedi Senator and all of your prior knowledge, skills, and relationships from when you were Princess of Naboo. And because you opposed it, many other senators started to oppose the act as well.

"I'll be okay, Master." you replied as the entrance of your ship opened. "I'll return back in a few days for the voting of the Military Creation Act."
Traveling back to Naboo to discuss senator things with your sister was something you did often. You were always gone for a few days and would return back to your Jedi duties once all of your senator duties were done. You were always very busy and carried a lot on your shoulders, especially for a nineteen year old. But you were proud of your work and did it happily. You were the Force Chosen and the Jedi Senator after all.
"The council appreciates everything you do as Jedi Senator and as my Padawan." Master Windu smiled at you. You were about to reply when suddenly a disturbance in the Force. "___! Get down!"
You ducked down as a blaster bolt barely missed your head. It hit the side of your ship and you turned around and saw the burn mark it left. The metal sizzled from the heat of the blast. Master Windu quickly ignited his purple lightsaber as you ignited your blue one. There was a burst of blaster bolts shot at you and Master Windu as you both blocked them off with your lightsabers. You quickly looked around and couldn't quite pinpoint the source of the shots. You missed a bolt and it grazed the side of your left arm. You hissed in pain as Master Windu turned to you.
"___, get on your ship and go!" he ordered.
"But Master!" you tried to argue as you weren't one to flee a fight.
"That's an order from your Master, Padawan!" he yelled as he shielded you from the blaster bolts with his lightsaber. You contemplated your opinions, whether to follow his orders or stay and fight. You switched off your lightsaber and put it back on your belt. You quickly got onto your ship and closed the entrance. You went to the pilot's seat and turn on the ship. As your ship rose, the blaster bolts followed you, completely ignoring your Master. You winced as your stretched your hurt arm to pull down a lever. The ship turned and took off into the sky.
Master Windu watched as the bolts continued to try to shoot you down, but you went into hyperdrive for a quicker escape. The blaster bolts stopped as soon as your shipped disappeared. Master Windu looked around and tried to find the source of the attack. He spotted someone running away quickly from the roof of one of the nearby buildings. Master Windu quickly put away his lightsaber and ran towards the person, hoping to cross their path as he watched them hop down to the ground.

But when he reached to the spot he expected to find the person who attacked his Padawan, there was too big of a crowd of people there. He looked around for the mysterious person, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Master Windu sighed in frustration as he hurried to the Jedi Temple to report what had happened. Someone had tried to assassinate you and he knew it had something to do with the upcoming vote. He could feel it in the Force that you were now a target and in immediate danger.
~
You winced in pain as you cleaned and bandaged the wound from the blaster bolt. It would heal in a few days and shouldn't scar, but it still hurt badly. You were confused as to what had happened. Was someone targeting you? Why would someone have it out for you? You would have to wait until you get to Naboo and hear from Master Windu and the council. You finished wrapping the bandage as the ship came out of hyperdrive and you saw your home planet in front of you.
As you started to guide the ship to the coordinates of the landing dock at the palace, you faintly felt Anakin through your connection. You felt his extreme worry for you as you knew he felt your pain and surprise from the attack. Your head started to feel light and dizzy as you felt Anakin trying to call you through the Force to check on you. You tried to call back out to him to let him know you are okay, but the connection you both shared was still too weak. That was the first time in years that you had felt Anakin's feelings that strong. It wasn't as strong as it was when you had first met, but it was stronger than it had been. But after all of the moments you were in danger or had gotten hurt over the years, this was the first time Anakin's worry for you was so strong and deep that you could hear him call for you. It made you miss him more than you already did.
Your breath hitched as you felt an all familiar pull in the Force. You closed your eyes and opened them again to see Anakin standing right in front of you. His back was turned to you and you saw him tense when he felt your presence. He quickly turned around and let out a shakily breath. He was far away from you, but you could see him clear as day. His hair was pulled back into a small ponytail and his Padawan braid rested on his right shoulder. He was different from the boy you met on Tatooine. A good different. His blue eyes pierced through you as he looked over you. His face twisted with confusion and worry as he saw you hold your hurt arm.
"___?" his voice echoed as he spoke.
"Ani?" you asked in return, your voice echoing as well. He reached out to you and you reached out to him with your good arm. But the more you both reached to each other, the further apart you both got. Your vision started to get hazy and started to black out.
"No!! ___!!" you heard Anakin call out to you as everything faded into darkness.
You let out a gasp as you vision returned and he was no longer in front of you. You were looking at Naboo again. You couldn't feel Anakin anymore. You've never experienced that before with your Force Bond with Anakin nor never seen him in front of you as you did right now. You wished you had more time than the mere seconds you just had with him.
"Why now?" you asked yourself. There were countless of times where you had put yourself in danger or had gotten injured before during a mission. Countless of times that you had wished you could see Anakin. Not a day went by that you didn't think of him over the years and tried to reach to him in the Force. All those nights you stayed up late trying to just let him now you were okay through your Force Connection/Bond.
Just to randomly see him for a second.
You bit your lip as you started to move the ship downward. There was so much on your mind. So many questions that needed answers. One thing for sure, you wanted Anakin was right here next to you. He always knew how to comfort you, even if you both hadn't actually spent a lot of time together in the entirety you knew him. But he wasn't here with you and you cannot have such an attachment to him like you already did. You shouldn't have this want and need to see him. It was not the Jedi way.
You composed yourself as you entered Naboo's atmosphere.

Blended (Beastars Cafe AU)
It was a pretty slow day at Legosi's small cafe. The light chatters of the animals inside were a calming white noise to Legosi's ears. And with the aroma of coffee drifting through the air, it made for quite a relaxing atmosphere in the cafe.Everything was like usual. At least, until a certain red deer came, that is.~~~~~The cover art is by Nekokat. Check them out! 8 209Two Existentialists | S.R.
"How many existentialists does it take to screw a lightbulb?" Spencer asked with a small laugh. Once again the room was silent. You faintly heard Agent Rossi mutter, "Don't.""2. One to change the light bulb and one to observe how it symbolizes an incandescent beacon of subjectivity in a netherworld of cosmic nothingness," he said. The room was silent still, until you laughed. His eyes looked up at yours in confusion. "Wouldn't they sit in the dark and hope that the bulb decided to light again? An existentialist would never change the bulb. He would allow the darkness to exist," you questioned.-#1 #spencerreid#1 #mgg#1 emilyprentiss
