《Show Me The Stars (Anakin x Reader)》Chapter 2

We entered the palace hastily.
"Mother! Father!" I screamed. My mom and dad rushed into the parlor.
"What happened to you two?!" My dad said. I finally got the courage to look at my shoulder. It was bleeding, and I saw the bloodstains on my dress. I inhaled sharply.
"(Y/n)! Your shoulder!" My mother said, running over.
"Maids! Get the doctors!" My father said. Padme ran to my side as I fell to the ground.
"Hang on (y/n)! Stay with us!" I heard Padme said right before I blacked out.
I woke to the sounds of my sister whispering. The birds are still chirping outside. I am in my bed. "Padme?" I cry out.
"(Y/n), your awake, thank goodness!" She said hugging me. I looked at my shoulder, it was wrapped with clean bandages.
"Padme, what happened?" I asked her
"Do you not remember?" She asked, fear in her eyes. I thought hard, then remembered.
"That person... We were at the beach... He tried to kill us!" I said sitting up. Big mistake. I whimpered as my shoulder filled with pain. Padme laid me back down, and stoked my hair.
"Do you remember what the man looked like?" She asked. I nodded. I remember exactly.
"Then you can draw or paint us a picture, you have always been artistic. Then we can figure out who this was and put an end to it." Padme said. She helped me up to my easel that was sitting on my balcony with a stool in front of it. The maids brought my paints and brushes. I started by stroking softly. I added his helmet, breastplate, and any other detail I could remember. I finished, the maids carrying my painting down to the stairs with me. My father was talking with two politicians. "Father?" I said quietly.
"Oh, (y/n), my dear. You are alright! I'm so glad you're awake... We have some things to discuss..." He said. Then the maids showed him the painting.
"What is this?"
"It is the man..." I stated. He nodded and sat me down with the politicians.
"Tell us exactly what happened..." He said. I started telling him everything. How me and Padme went to the beach, the cross roads, everything. All he did was nod attentively.
"Well, me and the other senators have been talking... You and the queen need extra protection. We do not know when the assassin will strike again. But we want to be ready." He said.

"But father!" I said.
"Enough. We will not discuss this! They are arriving tomorrow, I have already spoken over this with the queen..." He said. I hated it when he called Padme queen. It just made me feel worse. I was the princess and she was the queen. Of course. But she would soon be becoming a senator. And then I would be nothing but a princess for the rest of my life. Unless I would step away, which was what I was thinking of doing. I went back to my room, changed, and left to water my roses.
The next day
I woke late in the morning. I skipped breakfast and put on a short white dress, and a crown of iris'. I walked to my garden-bare footed of course- and started watering my flowers. The sun was warm that morning, and there are clouds surroundings the sunlight, transitioning from white to a soft pink. I was so mesmerised by the sunrise that I didn't notice someone come up behind me.
"Hello there." A voice behind me said. I quickly turned. There were 2 men behind me, dressed in robes and cloaks. One has a short beard, longer hair, and bright green eyes. The other had short brown hair, beautiful blue eyes, and a long braid hanging from his ear.
"Hello...?" I asked
"I am Obi Wan Kenobi, this is my Padawan, Anakin." Obi Wan said. I curtsied-as I was taught- and then asked...
"I am (y/n)...Are you the Jedi that have come to protect me and my sister?"
"Precisely..." Obi Wan stated. I glanced at Anakin who was staring at me
"What happened to your shoulder?" He asked with a confused look. I remembered my shoulder, all bandaged up.
"Oh nothing really..." I started
"Your father told us that you had gotten shot?" Anakin stepped closer and lightly touched my shoulder. I winced at his gesture,"Sorry..." He said stepping back.
"Yes, I got shot. But just barely. Palme saved me before he could do any real damage." I stated, letting the last f the water flow to my roses.
"Can you tell us what happened?" Obi Wan asked. I nodded-I have told this story soooooo many times- Obi Wan asked questions, and answered them.
"Alright, so here's the deal. One of us will need to be with either you or Padme all the time." Obi Wan explained.
"All the time?" I asked. "So like, no privacy, all the time?"

"Um... You will have some privacy, but our duty is to stay by your and your sisters side." Anakin stated. I nodded my head. This was very overwhelming. I am not used to having people be around me. I am used to sitting in my garden and reading books. Alone. I have never had anyone pay attention to me all the time. I walked back inside, knowing it was dinner time. We all sat down at the table, me in the corner. Anakin looked at Padme
"We hear that you are going to become a senator?" Anakin asked Padme
"Yes. I am going to have to move to Corusant." She said. I instantly looked up from pushing my good around with my fork. What? She never told me this. I swallowed loudly, trying to get her attention, but no one even glanced at me. I looked to my parents who were smiling. Did they know about this? I stood,
"May I be excused?" I asked in the my polite tone. My mother glanced at me nodding, then went back to talking to Padme. I walked to my room, aren't the Jedi supposed to be coming with me? Oh wait, they probably didn't even notice that I left. They were all basking in the conversation with Padme. Don't get me wrong, I love her. But I am also jealous of her. She always gets the attention. I dressed into my silk night gown and say in the chair on my balcony. I flipped through the pages of my book, soaking up every word. Books understand me. Suddenly, a grapple clenched on the edge of my balcony. I could see it clearly in the moon light. I put down my book and ran inside, closing the glass balcony doors behind me. I ran to my bedroom door and turned the knob. It was locked. I unlocked it and tried again but it still wouldn't budge. I looked around the room for something to fight with. Of course nothing. I couldn't fight anyways with my shoulder being dysfunctional. I looked out to my balcony and saw another man. He was a different one, and he was wearing a white mask. I backed into a corner in my room. I believed the darkness would shield me somehow. The man walked to the doors, and tried to open them, they were locked of course. Good, that might hold him. Just as I thought that, the glass to the doors broke and the man walked in. I saw that he had no gun. How was he going to kill me? He walked up to me and threw me on the ground. I grabbed on the leg of my bed, trying to get up but he sat on my chest. My lungs were getting squeezed when he pulled out a long, curved dagger. I screamed. Shrieked even. His knife went to my throat. I could feel the hot blood start to roll down my neck and to my chest. I could feel the man smirking under that mask of his. Tears flowed from my eyes, knowing I was about to die. That's when a light soared in the room. The next thing I knew, there was a light through the man's chest. I pushed the man off my chest. And rolled over, gasping for air. I touched my neck, and my hand got covered in sticky blood.
"Are you alright?" I hear someone ask, pulling me to my feet. I look up and see Anakin. Padme then rushes in.
"(Y/n)? What happened?!" She asked. You ran into her open arms. And she cradled you. You could hear your father and Obi Wan talking.
"How could you let this happen? My daughter almost got killed!" My father said.
"Sir, we didn't even know she left the room..." Anakin started. Of course they didn't. Padme stoked my hair, as my tears dried on my cheeks. Leaving dark stains for the morning.
"Fine. It isn't safe for her here..." My father said.
"Maybe she could go with Padme." My mother said, barely audible.
"That would be easier. My Padawan and I could protect them together if that happened." Obi Wan said.
"(Y/n), would you like to come with me to Corusant?" Padme asked looking down at me.
"It's not like I have a choice..." I stated. I have never had a choice. If Padme was in the parade, I was in the parade. If Padme was having a ball I had to go to it. My whole life was run by Padme's decisions.
"You'll leave tomorrow. Now one of you, stay in the room with either of the girls. I don't want anything else to happen like this..." My mother said. Padme led me back to bed. Anakin sat in the corner. I turned away from him. It was weird feeling someone staring at me all the time. I closed my eyes, remembering the glass shattering.

"Nic - the main character - is an ambitious, hyper-competitive perfectionist, and the story fortunately handles him correctly in that it does not push these traits too far." -Akaso ★★★★★This is a good one!
