A/N: wow, two Tsukiyama one shots back to back! Lowkey weird..
CAUTION: THERE WAS SPOILERS TO THE TG : RE ENDING. This entire fic is a fuckin spoiler
Also hee hee beware it gets a bit intense but there isn't anything too graphic, just suggestions of sexual themes
Life was nice, now. The constant stress that used to come with being a ghoul had gone and its absence had done miracles for your spirit and body. It had also given you a chance to live a better life. One with a big, happy family. You couldn't be more blessed than with the one who chose you.
"She's going to start pre-school soon, isn't she?" You muttered, earning yourself a punch from the girl who had been through it all with you. It was so weird to see Touka as a parent when every time you saw her, she still looked the way she did at the very beginning of this tragedy. While others can gawk and complain that they had all changed, nothing really did change. You'd sometimes look around the room and see people the way you first saw them all those years ago. It was enough to make you cry. "What?! She IS, isn't she? I'm just trying to get you to face reality before you become one of those parents who are overprotective of their kids because they can't let them grow!"
"Don't say that today, stupid!" Touka growled back. "Ken's having a fucking midlife crisis because she's turning four!" You snickered at the thought.
"Sooner rather than later she'll be calling him her old man. He can't have his crisis before then!" You argued. You had expected her to call you a shithead, or to punch you again but instead, she chuckled and silently agreed. That surprised you greatly. In the new but comfortable silence, the two of you scanned over the room filled with people who all had one thing in common; love and respect for the Kaneki family. While you didn't know all of them personally, you recognized them all. Ghouls and former CCG employees alike. It was less tense now that the TSC was in place.
Kaneki walked into the room, followed by Hide who tried miserably to sing happy birthday to the little girl sitting amongst the loving adults (and few kids that Miza, Naki, Takeomi and Yoriko had brought). The white haired father placed the ghoul-friendly cake (a birthday gift from Kimi and Nishiki) in front of her daughter and struggled to hold back his tears as she blew out all four candles.
"He's such a softie..." your remark was cut short when you turned to Touka and noticed that she too had watery eyes. You were surrounded by softies. And soon, another one attacked you from behind.
A soft hand almost violently tugged your head to their flat chest, smoothening your hair down and hugging your shoulders with the arm that wasn't painfully twisting your neck. "Triste!" Shuu's distinguished voice cried out while most were cheering Ichika for being able to blow out all of her candles at once. "Our little princess is growing up too fast."
"Shuu, you gave me whiplash." You threatened, fingernails this close to tearing his hand open. "Let me breathe." Nothing of the sort happened. Instead, the man hugged you tighter, muttering something about how he needed the comfort of the closest friend he had.
Now, don't get this wrong. He was in no way doing something against your consent. Tsukiyama wasn't that type of man. It was just that after a decade of friendship, the two of you had developed a love-hate-love relationship. Yes, love-hate-love. While you had a few moments like these where all you wanted to do was catch him outside and throw hands, you (and Touka) had outgrown your rebellious phase and were able to enjoy even the hate aspect of the friendship. Besides, you couldn't exactly cut a bitch yet, because today was Ichika's day and you wouldn't make a scene.

Awkwardly, you patted Shuu's hand which rested on the side of your face. "She's not even your daughter and you're crying more than Kaneki is." You mumbled.
"She's my niece! The spawn of two of the people I love most on this earth!" He poetically cried while you rolled your eyes. "How could I not love such a perfect little angel?"
"I thought I was the person you love most on this earth." You replied. He had been repeating that for a few years after all, but you weren't going to take away any credit from Touka and Kaneki. You had all been through a lot together.
"Trust me, if the time comes and you have a child, I will love it as my own." And with that, the man walked off. "I had been looking forward to this cake! Let's see if you're any good at your job, my dearest Kimi!"
Shocked by his nonchalance, you turned to Touka as if to ask her if she had heard him as well. All you received was an expectant look you had gotten on her part from time to time ever since you had left Anteiku and followed Kaneki and Tsukiyama into their own journey.
"You have to be fucking kidding me." The mother said. "Are you two still flirting? It won't get any further than this unless you communicate, you know. Everyone is sick and tired of watching you both pinning on each other like some kind of bad Hallmark movie. He knows you like him, there's no reason why he'd talk to you like that if he didn't know."
"Haha, what?!" You awkwardly chuckled, hoping laughter would make your heated cheeks go back to normal. It did nothing of the sort. "Touka, I don't know how many times I have to tell you the same thing! I like Shuu, he's a very nice person, but he's a friend! I can't go around looking for mushy stuff like love, I've got a job now! A big job that takes up all of my free time, and so does he! We don't have time for other things or other commitments."
Touka wasn't having it. "Ken and I got married in the middle of a war." She answered monotonously. You obviously had no right to make excuses about such things in her presence. "Your little game is getting so obvious even Ichika thinks you're married. Just talk to him, won't you? And even if you actually don't like him, let the poor man know. Leaving him hanging like that won't do any good, and you know how he is. Just rip off the band-aid, (Y/N)."
You nodded. She did have a point; when Shuu got emotionally attached to someone, it was very easy to accidentally break his heart (over small things, too). The last time he had misunderstood you and that happened, you had his cousin on your heels ready to decapitate you. It wasn't exactly in your plans to re-live that experience.
"I'll do it, eventually. Just not today, since he really seems to have fun." The two of you confirmed your statement by watching the practically glowing man entertain the children around him with extravagant stories and words they had never heard before. If you didn't know any better, you'd think he was the toddler who just turned four.
"Well do it quickly. I don't want him at my doorstep at two in the morning crying again."
Your promise to Touka didn't exactly go as planned. You got loaded with new cases at TSC, something about some ghouls rebelling against the new peace settling over Tokyo and the countryside. What had surprised you the most was that Uta wasn't behind this.

Anyways, you had to sleep in your office a few times that week and didn't get to see anyone outside of work. Meetings had doubled in order to establish a procedure for such a large scale operation. So far, the peacekeepers only had to take care of two or three ghouls at a time. For the first time in history, you seemed to have an anti-peace organization on your hands, so it was your job to study the case and come up with a durable plan that would still respect the new laws concerning ghoul rights.
A familiar man entered your office while you were furiously typing away your newest idea that came to mind. "You're working too hard." Urie stated, taking a seat in front of you. For the past week, you both had been able to formally meet each other. Just as expected, the two of you talked about where and how you met Kaneki (or Sasaki, in Urie's case) and from there on, the conversation blossomed into casual banter. He had been more than kind to you and was very helpful with his reports on the field. "We have the organization neutralized for now, you gave us more than enough."
"Neutralized doesn't exactly mean stopped, Urie." You gave him a crooked yet tired smile. "I'm almost done with the draft. I'll present it tomorrow at the meeting. Is the Suzuya squad still attending?"
"Yes," he nodded. "I think Mutsuki and Aura will be joining us too. We found some links in the countryside as well."
You hid your expression of disgust. You had nothing but bad memories about those two, although you knew they had probably grown as people since then. It was time to give them both a fresh start.
"But really, how are you holding up?" Urie patted the chair next to him, as if talking to you while you were seated at your desk felt too formal. And it sort of did. So, you lifted yourself and walked to the empty chair. "I know you sleep at the office. That's really not good."
"I can't bear to go back home." You crashed down on the seat and disgracefully slouched. "I tried, but I can't sleep because every hour I wake up with a new brainstorming plan and I can't go back to sleep before I elaborate it. And I know, I know I should leave some space for my personal life, but I'm so afraid that this slip up might cost us the TSC, and that someone will come along and re-establish something like the CCG and that we'll be starting from zero again, and I'll be on the streets once more struggling to find guilt-free food, and..."
Urie took your hand in his, giving you a look that could either be concern or a "don't give me that bullshit" look. You didn't know the difference; he was Urie. "Ghouls are safe now. You won't ever have to think about that. The country approved the TSC, we're solid. Other countries are actually following our lead. The peacekeepers have it under control for now, so you have to take a break."
Still, the idea of you leaving work made a sense of guilt rise through your gut. You stared down at where your hand was linked to his. "I'm so af-"
The door to your office unlatched and the two of you turned your heads to your longtime, purple haired friend who stopped in his tracks as if he had walked into a scandalous scene. Which he really hadn't, but from the way he looked at your joined hands, you could have been kissing and he probably wouldn't have reacted as strongly.
Whatever smile your friend had when he walked in was wiped off and replaced with a dark aura. Even Urie felt the change of mood and became very uncomfortable. "I hadn't seen you in days," Shuu calmly said. His tone, albeit neutral, sent shivers through your spine and made you dread whatever would happen next. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were..." he looked between you and Urie with an undecipherable expression on his face. "busy." With that, the once flamboyant man left the room, stumbling a bit on his way out.
While you were mentally cursing at yourself, Urie tried his best to read the situation, but was unable to do so. He had met Tsukiyama before, and he knew you well enough to know the type of person you are, but he had never seen or witnessed the dynamic (or chemistry) the two of you had. "That was... rather dramatic." Seeing the worried glance you sent towards him, he tried to correct himself. "I mean..! As Tsukiyama is, I suppose. He's a very dramatic individual." And your friend was right about that much. Which told all you needed to know about what you had to do now.
"Sorry, I have something important to do." With that, you lifted yourself off the chair and took off after Shuu, hoping he didn't have a cab or car waiting for him outside. Or that he wasn't out of the building yet.
When the doorbell rang at the Kaneki residence, the circumstances were too perfect. Touka hadn't seen you in a week, Tsukiyama had already visited Ken this morning, Ichika was at Miza's to play with Shiroi and the woman was left all alone at home. Of course she would get bothered by someone. With a sigh, she lifted herself from the couch and closed the television but before she could reach the door, a certain purple head invited himself in. "Oh god," Touka sighed as she saw the disheartened expression on his face. Obviously, you had done exactly what she told you to not do. "Alright, let's get this over with." She let the ghoul crash on the couch while she fetched a chair for herself.
The two remained silent for a while. Touka refused to speak because she knew that when she would try, she'd be interrupted by the man slouching on the sofa in front of her. Instead, she got comfy on her chair and patiently waited for the drama Queen in front of her to start talking.
"I hadn't seen (Y/N) in almost a week." Shuu started, fidgeting with his own fingers and picking at his nails, obviously avoiding his friend's gaze out of pure shame; a very rare thing for him. "And I know that they were really busy with the organization we're working against, but I wanted to surprise them and... well, you know the rest. When I walked into their office, they were with that Urie guy."
"So?" She obviously wasn't following. And she was too oblivious to skip to conclusions. And Shuu's vague storytelling was getting on her nerves a tiny bit. "They work together. I wouldn't get my panties in a twist if I walked into Ken's office and saw him and Urie talking."
"They were holding hands."
If Touka had something worth throwing, she would have thrown it. "Oh for the love of- I've had enough of this bullshit!" The fact that her daughter wasn't around gave her the opportunity to swear a little louder. "(Y/N) doesn't have anything for Urie! I don't know and I don't care what they were talking about, but you're getting upset over nothing! Have you really been flirting with them for years and didn't even notice that they liked you too?! Why the fuck did you think they'd allow you to say some of the things you did say?! And for some of those things, Ichika asked me the meaning of, by the way, you fucking pervert!" Her hand itched with the need to hit him, but she refrained herself. It wouldn't get them anywhere.
Tsukiyama looked up at Touka, unsure if he should feel offended or not. He decided to simply cringe. His lack of answer irked the girl furthermore. "Oh my god, are you in denial too?! That's not very European of you, Tsukiyama. Now you listen to me and listen closely." She scolded. "You will fix whatever mess you two put yourselves in like ten years ago. I don't care if they call or text you, that's something you're going to do face to face, and you'll do it right damn it! I'm tired of acting like an intermediate between the two of you."
"Touka, you can't possibly-" His complaint was interrupted when the woman dragged him to his feet and started pushing him towards the door.
"So help me if I hear that you two haven't talked things through I'll whoop your ass like in the good old days!" And with that, she kicked him out of the house and locked the door. She knew that it was a bit rough of her, but it needed to be done. Others were getting sick of the pinning too. She took one for the team.
After missing Tsukiyama by god knows how much time, you decided to cut the day short, since you had already been doing countless hours of overtime today. You were sure Marude wouldn't kill you for it. You headed home while taking your sweet time, thinking over your current situation.
So you had accidentally upset Shuu. Things could get a bit complicated from here on out. It all depended on his mood, and his intentions when he had walked into your office, and what he did after he stormed off, and what you did up until now. But one thing was certain; this wasn't the time for you to apologize over text.
Although you should have probably done something about it today, you felt too tired to deal with an upset Tsukiyama. Those kind of things took more energy out of you than babysitting Naki's child army for a week. So, although your heart ached with guilt, you'd push that to tomorrow's schedule, first thing in the morning.
Upon your arrival home, you didn't even have the time to crash into your plush bed (with the job and newfound stability you had in your life, you were finally able to purchase an apartment that could become your home), someone's fist knocked on your door. You loudly groaned into your pillow and forced yourself up to reach the entrance area and unlock the door.
You were speechless when your eyes fell on Shuu's own gaze, peering at you and seemingly at loss for words as well. His mouth opened and closed, as if he did have something he needed to say, but soon he gave up on the impossible task. Instead, he bowed down and almost roughly gripped your head to keep you in place while he kissed you. You felt your heart lunge into your throat and the shock had nailed you in place, even though you wanted to kiss him back so badly.
When he pulled away, you still didn't know what to say. The purple head in front of you took it the wrong way and frowned. "I'm so sorry, I swear I had words to say but I got scared and..." An awkward chuckle left his lips. "It's been years since I wanted to get that off my chest." Before you could assure him that it was alright, Shuu gently took the door knob from your own grasp and was about to close the door on himself. You grabbed the melodramatic idiot by the collar of his suit and dragged him into your apartment, kissing him back with even more intensity than he had. A ghoulish growl ripped through your throat as you did so. Neither of you could even remember the last time that kind of sound had escaped you.
While you stumbled backwards to drag him into your room, his hands had wandered pretty much everywhere on your body. He wanted to pick you up, to hug you close, to gently hold your cheeks in his hands, to claw at your back, to whisper in your ear sweet nothings that would express just how much he loves you, to grasp your hair and tug at it until you exposed the juncture between your shoulder and your neck... so many emotions were expressing themselves all at once. He had dreamed, fantasized and lusted about this for what felt like forever.
When you finally arrived to your destination, things took a slight turn. Instead of pushing you down and devouring you like he had always wanted to do, you practically threw the man on your bed and climbed on top of him. He wasn't even shocked by the strength difference; you had always smelled like you were a strong ghoul, but he had no idea you'd be like this. Nonetheless, he was enjoying it a lot. "Hang on tight, we've got ten years to make up for." You warned before leaning down to resume your activities.

8 141The Tale of A Fortunate Slave
In the world of Valeria, The capital of The Kingdom of Albert is besieged and yet our story dose not begin in a stronghold or castle. Our protagonist is not strong or powerful, quite the opposite in fact, she is a ex-slave. An ex-slave that got "lucky" in a way that some fear and despise while others enjoy and like her. This is the story of the quite Ash the slave turned personal servant of the daemon princess Lucy Darkheart. This is very much a work in progress so please understand if there's any mistakes or errors. Not only that but I am a novice so that kind of thing is to be expected. Thank you! Edit: Updates are whenever I make one or two new chapters so expect them to be as inconstant as a dragons fire breath. *Tags and Genres may be added as the story progresses. I have a Twitter now cause it would not stop bugging me when I wanted to look at news for a game, the link is here, https://twitter.com/JustAPhoenix2 . I don't know if it works or not on the edit screen, but you can copy/paste it anyway. I may do stuff there like give insight to some of the more trivial parts of the characters lives. (That refers to ALL character, not just Ash.)
