《Tokyo Ghoul X reader OneShots》Ignorance? Nah. | Naki

A/N: this is a parody of my Shirazu X reader fanfiction (more specifically, the chapter entitled "Shortcut") in which the reader secretly started dating Naki, so if you're confused by a few things, I'd recommend to go read the book. It's called Ignorance!

I hope you enjoy ;P
The sound of the bell ringing made you turn your head towards the café's entrance, an apologetic look on your face. "I'm sorry, the café's closed right now..." You started, cutting yourself off when you noticed just who was standing at the door. Giving Naki your brightest smile, you ignored the way your heart skipped a beat.
What was he doing here?
After hours.
All alone.
In the café, where there was no one around...
You mentally scolded yourself to get your mind out of the gutter.
"Did you forget something, Naki?" You sweetly asked, setting the rag you were using to clean the tables down and walking towards the blonde man so that communication would be easier.
"Huh? Oh, uh... No, I didn't." He answered, obviously a bit uneasy. "I just came to... To ask for more information, that's all!"
You furrowed your eyebrows and tried your best to hide your smile. "Naki, you came by this morning and we told you everything was silent for now... Cameron's got no info right now." You answered. "Now what are you really here for?"
You definitely didn't miss the way his cheeks seemed to get redder. After all, it was a huge contrast to his pale skin and blonde hair... What was on his mind?
"Um..." He glanced all around the café, as if he'd find his answer to your question somewhere there. "I... It's because..."
"Get to the point, Naki. I won't judge you, I swear." You assured.
"I don't want you to give your number to that guy. The one that was disrekeptful." He finally blurted out.
You blinked a few times, assessing what he said. "I didn't give him my number." You assured. "After you left, I barely spoke to him." Well, that was a lie. You speak to Shirazu every day, but... Naki didn't need to know, did he?
"Oh? You didn't?" A hopeful look appeared on his face once you nodded. "Ah, that's good! Because... Uh... Well... I don't know how to explain it, really... I... Rin's..."
You patiently waited. Patience was the key when it came to Naki, anyways.
"I... want your number..?" He cringed at how weird his statement... Question... Thing sounded.
"You want my number?" You asked, finally putting two and two together. It seems manipulating Naki's emotions finally paid off, but... Why did you feel so happy about it?
"I don't know how to explain it, I'm sorry!" He exclaimed, burying his face into his hands, on the verge of tears. "It's not easy..."
"I think I understand, though." You started, grabbing his hands and pulling them away from his face. "Can I try something? Because I think I know what you mean, but I wanna check if that's what you really meant."
Naki blushed at the intense look in your eyes before shyly nodding.
Here you go...
One of your hands left his own to cup his cheek while you leaned in, briefly brushing your lips against his before kissing him softly. When Naki tensed up, you quickly pulled away. "I'm sorry!" You exclaimed, letting him go and taking a few steps away from him, afraid he didn't like it or felt uncomfortable.

The reaction you got from him was not the one you were expecting. Instead of lashing out or crying, Naki simply brought a hand up to his lips. "Fuck..." He mewled before his face turned as red as a stop sign.
"Is that what you meant?" You asked, still keeping your distance. Naki nodded and finally gathered up enough courage to make eye contact with you.
"Less or more." He muttered.
"More or less." You corrected, before smiling at him. "And if so, I guess I sort of feel the same way." You grabbed a notepad, scribbling a few things on it before handing the paper to Naki, who glanced at it with a puzzled expression. "My number." You specified.
"Oh!" He smirked at you before pocketing the precious piece of paper. "Thank you! I guess I'll be on my way now!"
"Yeah, see you soon!" You called out while he opened the door, waving at you, smirk still present on his face.
"See you!" With that, the door closed back and you watched as Naki practically skipped away. As soon as he was out of your field of view, your smile fell.
"The Quinx..." You muttered, feeling terrible about the fact that you technically just betrayed them.
••••
"I'm telling you, let's go through the trench!" You insisted. "I know you're afraid of the dark, Urie, but look, there are lights, it won't be so bad!"
You had Shirazu and Mutsuki convinced already, you just needed Urie to fucking cooperate...
The purple haired male sighed before begrudgingly following behind you. You nearly cheered but stopped yourself before you could, scared that if you express how proud you are about your victory over him, he'll backtrack.
"See? This ain't so scary!" You added once the four of you were in the alleyway. The faint lights every ten meters made it a bit easier to see where you were heading.
"Yeah, but it's still shady as fuck." Shirazu added, glancing all around him every like five seconds.
"Oh, come on you big baby!" You teased, a wide smile on your face.
"Yeah, big baby!" A voice exclaimed, erasing the smile on your face. Oh, fuck...
"The fuck--" Ginshi was cut off by someone landing in front of the four of you, and you instantly recognized him, although you couldn't say he instantly recognized you as well.
"Looks like we got four little lost doves." Another voice piped up before landing a bit behind Naki. From his looks and his long blonde hair, you assumed it was Hooguro, meaning Shousei must be somewhere nearby... Ah, there he is, landing right behind Naki.
Shirazu backed up a bit, causing you, Urie and Mutsuki to backtrack as well. Naki still hadn't noticed you. The ghoul's smile turned into a frown. "I know you're the ones who destroyed the café. Do you know what that cost me?" He darkly said.
"I don't know, a shit ton of information you shouldn't know?" Shirazu sassed. Since when can he talk back to Naki of the White Suits but not Suzuya Juuzou? The hell is wrong here?
"You cost me Rin! I lost them because of you!" Naki yelled, pointing at Shirazu before his face twisted into an expression of recognition. "You're the bastard that disreskepted them!" He screeched, tears pooling in his eyes as he cracked his finger with his thumb. He was going to get violent soon...

"I 'cost' you 'Rin'?" Ginshi grimaced. "They're not some object with a price, you know." He growled, getting into a fighting stance.
"Shirazu..." You muttered, placing a hand on his back. "You are aware that you're messing with Naki of the White Suits, right? Bad fucking move, buddy..." You glanced back at the three ghouls in front of you, not missing the look of bewilderment on Naki's face when his eyes finally landed on you.
Yeah, you never told him where you actually worked... You felt horrible for lying to him. The two of you had a pretty happy relationship until Cameron died...
"Rin..!" He breathed out (you nerver even gave him your real name either. This relationship was just built on lies, wasn't it?), looking like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders. "You're alive!" He stepped forward but stopped when Shirazu's kagune ripped from his back, causing Shousei to pounce forwards to attack Ginshi before he could hurt Naki.
This was a fucking mess.
Seeing Shousei attack Ginshi, Urie leaped forwards to attempt to kill the ghoul before his co-worker got hurt, only to be stopped by Hooguro. The two started a battle as well while you and Mutsuki simply stood there, extremely confused as of what's happening and what you should do.
The debate over what Mutsuki should do wasn't long though. Seeing as Shirazu and Urie were already fighting someone, Naki decided to go after Mutsuki by process of elimination, leaving you alone in a confused and nervous mess. What do you do? You felt horrible for Naki, but Haise had already warned you that he was an extremely dangerous ghoul who doesn't hesitate to kill...
But he was your boyfriend...
But Mutsuki was in grave danger.
Or so you thought.
While Shirazu and Urie were about neck-to-neck with their opponents, you had expected Mutsuki to have trouble dealing with Naki, but much to your surprise, it was nothing like that.
Naki was loosing to Tooru.
You should have felt relieved about that fact, but you didn't. If anything, your heart started beating even faster when you realized that Naki might die, right there and then. You might loose someone you love tonight.
The guy didn't deserve this. He didn't deserve to die. He was such a nice person, who cares so much and although he wears his heart on his sleeve, he's still as optimistic as someone can be, as if he was untouched by the sins this world creates everyday. You couldn't just let a person like that die in front of your eyes!
But... How would you get Tooru to stop? What if Naki thinks you're not on his side anymore and attacks you instead?
There was one thing you could do to prove whose side you were on, but... It hurts to just think about it, although it's what must be done.
"I'm sorry!" You exclaimed as your kagune ripped from your back, impaling Mutsuki right through the stomach. You could feel the disgusting feeling of his body on your kagune which caused you to nearly gag.
The man turned to you, hurt, betrayal and bewilderment shining in his eyes as you threw him to the side, knocking him out once he hit the concrete wall of the alleyway. You hoped he wouldn't bleed to death...
Your betrayal attracted the attention of Shirazu and Urie as well.
"(Y/N)?" Ginshi hesitantly called out, completely ignoring Shousei. "What did you do..?"
"I'm sorry. I can't let you two hurt Naki. He doesn't deserve it." You explained, standing next to the ghoul who looked at you as if you were a deity.
"Remember what Sasaki said, (Y/N)." Urie calmly said, although his eyes told you a whole other story with the way they darted from you to the intimidating kakuja looming above you. He probably realized that even he had no chances against you if you decided to attack them both.
"Well Haise's wrong! Naki's nice. He's considerate and he cares about the people that matter to him and I'm not letting someone like that die here!" You countered, taking a protective stance in front of Naki.
"(Y/N)... Think about this for a second. Please." Ginshi begged, looking at you with desperation. It made you feel bad for making this choice, but... Damn it, Naki messed with your feelings as much as you messed with his, and the worse part was that he had no idea. You made him love you and he made you love him.
"Don't look at me like that." You warned, grimacing at the uneasy feeling Shirazu gave you for your betrayal. You felt like complete shit. "Ginshi, don't look at me like that!" You repeated, irritated when Shirazu still gave you that look.
The boy would not quit. Scowling, you swung your kagune at the two boys, sending them flying into the brick wall. That seemed to put both Hooguro and Shousei on edge, but they made no moves to attack you.
"Rin..." Naki finally said, looking like if he was about to start crying.
"It's (Y/N). Call me (Y/N)." You insisted, nearly jumping out of your skin when the blonde tackled you in a hug, sobbing.
"You saved me!" He wailed, gripping onto your shirt tightly while you wrapped your arms around the boy to calm him down.
"Er, boss..." Hooguro started, a bit uneasy. "You're aware they're with the CCG, right?"
"Not anymore!" Naki cheerily said, pulling away from you with a big smile on his face. "Right? Because you saved me!"
You nervously chuckled as the weight of your actions finally settled on your shoulders. Holy shit... You fucked up big time...
"Are you okay?" Naki worriedly asked. "Hey, you did a good thing, you know. Don't regret it."
"Thanks..." You muttered, looking back at your knocked out colleagues. "It'd be best to get out of here before the others find us, though."
You knew Shousei and Hooguro were unsure about you at the moment, but you just wanted to get out of here right now. You felt way too guilty about what you just sacrificed for one person. Love really made people do crazy things, didn't it? You'll be sure not to mess with it in the future.
"Yeah, we'll get out of here!" Naki grabbed your hand, dragging you out of the alleyway and away from your knocked out squad. "You'll get along with Eto, I'm sure." He added with a bright smile.
Although you were scared shitless of Eto, you couldn't help but smile back because that boy is so adorable, what the hell. "I'm sure I will, Naki."
As he dragged you away from your former friends, you couldn't help but think...
Is this really how it was supposed to go?

Our Shattered Realms
*This is a learning experience for me so please keep in mind that I am attempting to work on some of the issues brought to my attention early on. However I haven't yet gone back to redo the early chapters.* Less than two days ago every piece of electronics in the world stopped working for more than two hours. The death toll was immense. Hospital equipment failed, cars stopped in the middle of the street, planes fell from the sky, and homework was lost at the worst possible moment. We found out that it was just the flicker and hum of The System warming up. Now we see the true cost of our new world. A Dark comedy that focuses on a few of the many people who aren't stuck in a high level dungeon when our world is translated and joined to Our Shattered Realms. This is my first story that I have published. I welcome any criticism that you have for me. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!
